1那两个天使晚上到了所多玛；罗得正坐在所多玛，看见他们，就起来迎接，脸伏于地下拜，Now the two angels arrived at Sodom in the evening, and Lot was sitting in the gateway of the city. When Lot saw them, he got up to meet them, bowed facedown,
2说：“我主啊，请你们到仆人家里洗洗脚，住一夜，清早起来再走。”他们说：“不！我们要在街上过夜。”and said, “My lords, please turn aside into the house of your servant; wash your feet and spend the night. Then you can rise early and go on your way.” “No,” they answered, “we will spend the night in the square.”
3罗得请他们，他们这才进去，到他屋里。罗得为他们预备筵席，烤，他们就吃了。But Lot insisted so strongly that they followed him into his house. He prepared a feast for them and baked unleavened bread, and they ate.
4他们还没有躺下，所多玛城里各处的人，连老带少，都来围住那房子，Before they had gone to bed, all the men of the city of Sodom, both young and old, surrounded the house.
5呼叫罗得说：“今日晚上到你这里来的人在哪里呢？把他们带出来，。”They called out to Lot, saying, “Where are the men who came to you tonight? Send them out to us so we can have relations with them!”
6罗得出来，把门关上，到众人那里，Lot went outside to meet them, shutting the door behind him.
7说：“众弟兄，请你们不要做这恶事。“Please, my brothers,” he pleaded, “don’t do such a wicked thing!
8我有两个女儿，还是处女，容我领出来，任凭你们的心愿而行；只是这两个人既然到我，不要向他们做什么。”Look, I have two daughters who have never slept with a man. Let me bring them to you, and you can do to them as you please. But do not do anything to these men, for they have come under the protection of my roof.”
9众人说：“退去吧！”又说：“这个人来寄居，还想要作官哪！现在我们要害你比害他们更甚。”众人就向前拥挤罗得，要攻破房门。“Get out of the way!” they replied. And they declared, “This one came here as a foreigner, and he is already acting like a judge! Now we will treat you worse than them.” And they pressed in on Lot and moved in to break down the door.
10只是那二人伸出手来，将罗得拉进屋去，把门关上，But the men inside reached out, pulled Lot into the house with them, and shut the door.
11并且使门外的人，无论老少，眼都；他们摸来摸去，总寻不着房门。And they struck the men at the entrance, young and old, with blindness, so that they wearied themselves trying to find the door.
12二人对罗得说：“你这里还有什么人吗？无论是女婿是儿女，和这城中一切属你的人，你都要将他们从这地方带出去。Then the two men said to Lot, “Do you have anyone else here—a son-in-law, your sons or daughters, or anyone else in the city who belongs to you? Get them out of here,
13我们要毁灭这地方；因为城内罪恶的声音在耶和华面前甚大，耶和华差我们来，要毁灭这地方。”because we are about to destroy this place. For the outcry to the LORD against its people is so great that He has sent us to destroy it.”
14罗得就出去，告诉娶了（或译：将要娶）他女儿的女婿们说：“你们起来离开这地方，因为耶和华要毁灭这城。”他女婿们却以为他说的是。So Lot went out and spoke to the sons-in-law who were pledged in marriage to his daughters. “Get up,” he said. “Get out of this place, for the LORD is about to destroy the city!” But his sons-in-law thought he was joking.
15天明了，天使催逼罗得说：“起来！带着你的妻子和你在这里的两个女儿出去，免得你因这城里的罪恶同被剿灭。”At daybreak the angels hurried Lot along, saying, “Get up! Take your wife and your two daughters who are here, or you will be swept away in the punishment of the city.”
16但罗得迟延不走。二人因为耶和华怜恤罗得，就拉着他的手和他妻子的手，并他两个女儿的手，把他们领出来，安置在城外；But when Lot hesitated, the men grabbed his hand and the hands of his wife and his two daughters. And they led them safely out of the city, because of the LORD’s compassion for them.
17领他们出来以后，就说：“逃命吧！不可回头看，也不可在平原站住。要往山上逃跑，免得你被剿灭。”As soon as the men had brought them out, one of them said, “Run for your lives! Do not look back, and do not stop anywhere on the plain! Flee to the mountains, or you will be swept away!”
18罗得对他们说：“我主啊，不要如此！But Lot replied, “No, my lords, please!
19你仆人已经在你眼前蒙恩；你又向我显出莫大的慈爱，救我的性命。我不能逃到山上去，恐怕这灾祸临到我，我便死了。Your servant has indeed found favor in your sight, and you have shown me great kindness by sparing my life. But I cannot run to the mountains; the disaster will overtake me, and I will die.
20看哪，这座城又小又近，容易逃到，这不是一个小的吗？求你容我逃到那里，我的性命就得存活。”Look, there is a town nearby where I can flee, and it is a small place. Please let me flee there—is it not a small place? Then my life will be saved.”
21天使对他说：“这事我也应允你；我不倾覆你所说的这城。“Very well,” he answered, “I will grant this request as well, and will not demolish the town you indicate.
22你要速速地逃到那城；因为你还没有到那里，我不能做什么。”因此那城名叫（就是小的意思）。Hurry! Run there quickly, for I cannot do anything until you reach it.” That is why the town was called Zoar.
23罗得到了琐珥，日头已经出来了。And by the time the sun had risen over the land, Lot had reached Zoar.
24当时，耶和华将与火从天上耶和华那里降与所多玛和蛾摩拉，Then the LORD rained down sulfur and fire on Sodom and Gomorrah—from the LORD out of the heavens.
25把那些城和全平原，并城里所有的居民，连地上生长的，都毁灭了。Thus He destroyed these cities and the entire plain, including all the inhabitants of the cities and everything that grew on the ground.
26罗得的妻子在后边回头一看，就变成了一根。But Lot’s wife looked back, and she became a pillar of salt.
27亚伯拉罕清早起来，到了他从前站在耶和华面前的地方，Early the next morning, Abraham got up and returned to the place where he had stood before the LORD.
28向所多玛和蛾摩拉与平原的全地观看，不料，那地方烟气上腾，如同烧窑一般。He looked down toward Sodom and Gomorrah and all the land of the plain, and he saw the smoke rising from the land like smoke from a furnace.
29当 神毁灭平原诸城的时候，他记念亚伯拉罕，正在倾覆罗得所住之城的时候，就打发罗得从倾覆之中出来。So when God destroyed the cities of the plain, He remembered Abraham, and He brought Lot out of the catastrophe that destroyed the cities where he had lived.
30罗得因为怕住在琐珥，就同他两个女儿从琐珥上去，住在山里；他和两个女儿住在一个洞里。Lot and his two daughters left Zoar and settled in the mountains—for he was afraid to stay in Zoar—where they lived in a cave.
31大女儿对小女儿说：“我们的父亲老了，地上又无人按着世上的常规进到我们这里。One day the older daughter said to the younger, “Our father is old, and there is no man in the land to sleep with us, as is the custom over all the earth.
32来！我们可以叫父亲喝酒，与他同寝。这样，我们好从他存留后裔。”Come, let us get our father drunk with wine so we can sleep with him and preserve his line.”
33于是，那夜她们叫父亲喝酒，大女儿就进去和她父亲同寝；她几时躺下，几时起来，父亲都不知道。So that night they got their father drunk with wine, and the firstborn went in and slept with her father; he was not aware when she lay down or when she got up.
34第二天，大女儿对小女儿说：“我昨夜与父亲同寝。今夜我们再叫他喝酒，你可以进去与他同寝。这样，我们好从父亲存留后裔。”The next day the older daughter said to the younger, “Look, I slept with my father last night. Let us get him drunk with wine again tonight so you can go in and sleep with him and we can preserve our father’s line.”
35于是，那夜她们又叫父亲喝酒，小女儿起来与她父亲同寝；她几时躺下，几时起来，父亲都不知道。So again that night they got their father drunk with wine, and the younger daughter went in and slept with him; he was not aware when she lay down or when she got up.
36这样，罗得的两个女儿都从她父亲怀了孕。Thus both of Lot’s daughters became pregnant by their father.
37大女儿生了儿子，给他起名叫，就是现今摩押人的始祖。The older daughter gave birth to a son and named him Moab. He is the father of the Moabites of today.
38小女儿也生了儿子，给他起名叫便·亚米，就是现今的始祖。The younger daughter also gave birth to a son, and she named him Ben-ammi. He is the father of the Ammonites of today.
