王做梦心里烦乱

¹尼布甲尼撒在位第二年，他做了梦，心里烦乱，不能睡觉。In the second year of his reign, Nebuchadnezzar had dreams that troubled his spirit, and sleep escaped him.

²王吩咐人将术士、用法术的、行邪术的，和迦勒底人召来，要他们将王的梦告诉王，他们就来站在王前。So the king gave orders to summon the magicians, enchanters, sorcerers, and astrologers to explain his dreams. When they came and stood before the king,

³王对他们说：“我做了一梦，心里烦乱，要知道这是什么梦。”he said to them, “I have had a dream, and my spirit is anxious to understand it.”

⁴迦勒底人用亚兰的言语对王说：“愿王万岁！请将那梦告诉仆人，仆人就可以讲解。”Then the astrologers answered the king in Aramaic, “O king, may you live forever! Tell your servants the dream, and we will give the interpretation.”

要说出梦和讲解

⁵王回答迦勒底人说：“梦我已经忘了（或译：我已定命；八节同），你们若不将梦和梦的讲解告诉我，就必被凌迟，你们的房屋必成为粪堆；The king replied to the astrologers, “My word is final: If you do not tell me the dream and its interpretation, you will be cut into pieces and your houses will be reduced to rubble.

⁶你们若将梦和梦的讲解告诉我，就必从我这里得赠品和赏赐，并大尊荣。现在你们要将梦和梦的讲解告诉我。”But if you tell me the dream and its interpretation, you will receive from me gifts and rewards and great honor. So tell me the dream and its interpretation.”

⁷他们第二次对王说：“请王将梦告诉仆人，仆人就可以讲解。”They answered a second time, “Let the king tell the dream to his servants, and we will give the interpretation.”

⁸王回答说：“我准知道你们是故意迟延，因为你们知道那梦我已经忘了。The king replied, “I know for sure that you are stalling for time because you see that my word is final.

⁹你们若不将梦告诉我，只有一法待你们；因为你们预备了谎言乱语向我说，要等候时势改变。现在你们要将梦告诉我，因我知道你们能将梦的讲解告诉我。”If you do not tell me the dream, there is only one decree for you. You have conspired to speak before me false and fraudulent words, hoping the situation will change. Therefore tell me the dream, and I will know that you can give me its interpretation.”

¹⁰迦勒底人在王面前回答说：“世上没有人能将王所问的事说出来；因为没有君王、大臣、掌权的向术士，或用法术的，或迦勒底人问过这样的事。The astrologers answered the king, “No one on earth can do what the king requests! No king, however great and powerful, has ever asked anything like this of any magician, enchanter, or astrologer.

¹¹王所问的事甚难。除了不与世人同居的神明，没有人在王面前能说出来。”What the king requests is so difficult that no one can tell it to him except the gods, whose dwelling is not with mortals.”

王下令灭绝哲士

¹²因此，王气忿忿地大发烈怒，吩咐灭绝巴比伦所有的哲士。This response made the king so angry and furious that he gave orders to destroy all the wise men of Babylon.

¹³于是命令发出，哲士将要见杀，人就寻找但以理和他的同伴，要杀他们。So the decree went out that the wise men were to be executed, and men went to look for Daniel and his friends to execute them.

¹⁴王的护卫长亚略出来，要杀巴比伦的哲士，但以理就用婉言回答他，When Arioch, the commander of the king’s guard, went out to execute the wise men of Babylon, Daniel responded with discretion and tact.

¹⁵向王的护卫长亚略说：“王的命令为何这样紧急呢？”亚略就将情节告诉但以理。“Why is the decree from the king so harsh?” he asked. Then Arioch explained the situation to Daniel.

¹⁶但以理遂进去求王宽限，就可以将梦的讲解告诉王。So Daniel went in and asked the king to give him some time, so that he could give him the interpretation.

但以理和同伴祈求

¹⁷但以理回到他的居所，将这事告诉他的同伴哈拿尼雅、米沙利、亚撒利雅，Then Daniel returned to his house and explained the matter to his friends Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah,

¹⁸要他们祈求天上的　神施怜悯，将这奥秘的事指明，免得但以理和他的同伴与巴比伦其余的哲士一同灭亡。urging them to plead for mercy from the God of heaven concerning this mystery, so that Daniel and his friends would not be killed with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.

但以理称颂神

¹⁹这奥秘的事就在夜间异象中给但以理显明，但以理便称颂天上的　神。During the night, the mystery was revealed to Daniel in a vision, and he blessed the God of heaven

²⁰但以理说：“　神的名是应当称颂的！从亘古直到永远，因为智慧能力都属乎他。and declared: “Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, for wisdom and power belong to Him.

²¹他改变时候、日期，废王，立王，将智慧赐与智慧人，将知识赐与聪明人。He changes the times and seasons; He removes kings and establishes them. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning.

²²他显明深奥隐秘的事，知道暗中所有的，光明也与他同居。He reveals the deep and hidden things; He knows what lies in darkness, and light dwells with Him.

²³我列祖的　神啊，我感谢你，赞美你，因你将智慧才能赐给我，允准我们所求的，把王的事给我们指明。”To You, O God of my fathers, I give thanks and praise, because You have given me wisdom and power. And now You have made known to me what we have requested, for You have made known to us the dream of the king.”

但以理被领到王面前

²⁴于是，但以理进去见亚略，就是王所派灭绝巴比伦哲士的，对他说：“不要灭绝巴比伦的哲士，求你领我到王面前，我要将梦的讲解告诉王。”Therefore Daniel went to Arioch, whom the king had appointed to destroy the wise men of Babylon, and said to him, “Do not execute the wise men of Babylon! Bring me before the king, and I will give him the interpretation.”

²⁵亚略就急忙将但以理领到王面前，对王说：“我在被掳的犹大人中遇见一人，他能将梦的讲解告诉王。”Arioch hastily brought Daniel before the king and said to him, “I have found a man among the exiles from Judah who will tell the king the interpretation.”

²⁶王问称为伯提沙撒的但以理说：“你能将我所做的梦和梦的讲解告诉我吗？”The king responded to Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, “Are you able to tell me what I saw in the dream, as well as its interpretation?”

²⁷但以理在王面前回答说：“王所问的那奥秘事，哲士、用法术的、术士、观兆的都不能告诉王；Daniel answered the king, “No wise man, enchanter, medium, or magician can explain to the king the mystery of which he inquires.

²⁸只有一位在天上的　神能显明奥秘的事。他已将日后必有的事指示尼布甲尼撒王。你的梦和你在床上脑中的异象是这样：But there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries, and He has made known to King Nebuchadnezzar what will happen in the latter days. Your dream and the visions that came into your mind as you lay on your bed were these:

²⁹王啊，你在床上想到后来的事，那显明奥秘事的主把将来必有的事指示你。As you lay on your bed, O king, your thoughts turned to the future, and the Revealer of Mysteries made known to you what will happen.

³⁰至于那奥秘的事显明给我，并非因我的智慧胜过一切活人，乃为使王知道梦的讲解和心里的思念。And to me this mystery has been revealed, not because I have more wisdom than any man alive, but in order that the interpretation might be made known to the king, and that you may understand the thoughts of your mind.

大像的梦

³¹“王啊，你梦见一个大像，这像甚高，极其光耀，站在你面前，形状甚是可怕。As you, O king, were watching, a great statue appeared. A great and dazzling statue stood before you, and its form was awesome.

³²这像的头是精金的，胸膛和膀臂是银的，肚腹和腰是铜的，The head of the statue was pure gold, its chest and arms were silver, its belly and thighs were bronze,

³³腿是铁的，脚是半铁半泥的。its legs were iron, and its feet were part iron and part clay.

³⁴你观看，见有一块非人手凿出来的石头打在这像半铁半泥的脚上，把脚砸碎；As you watched, a stone was cut out, but not by human hands. It struck the statue on its feet of iron and clay, and crushed them.

³⁵于是金、银、铜、铁、泥都一同砸得粉碎，成如夏天禾场上的糠秕，被风吹散，无处可寻。打碎这像的石头变成一座大山，充满天下。Then the iron, clay, bronze, silver, and gold were shattered and became like chaff on the threshing floor in summer. The wind carried them away, and not a trace of them could be found. But the stone that had struck the statue became a great mountain and filled the whole earth.

梦的讲解：相继的国度

³⁶“这就是那梦。我们在王面前要讲解那梦。This was the dream; now we will tell the king its interpretation.

³⁷王啊，你是诸王之王。天上的　神已将国度、权柄、能力、尊荣都赐给你。You, O king, are the king of kings, to whom the God of heaven has given sovereignty, power, strength, and glory.

³⁸凡世人所住之地的走兽，并天空的飞鸟，他都交付你手，使你掌管这一切。你就是那金头。Wherever the sons of men or beasts of the field or birds of the air dwell, He has given them into your hand and has made you ruler over them all. You are that head of gold.

³⁹在你以后必另兴一国，不及于你；又有第三国，就是铜的，必掌管天下。But after you, there will arise another kingdom, inferior to yours. Next, a third kingdom, one of bronze, will rule the whole earth.

⁴⁰第四国，必坚壮如铁，铁能打碎克制百物，又能压碎一切，那国也必打碎压制列国。Finally, there will be a fourth kingdom as strong as iron; for iron shatters and crushes all things, and like iron that crushes all things, it will shatter and crush all the others.

⁴¹你既见像的脚和脚指头，一半是窑匠的泥，一半是铁，那国将来也必分开。你既见铁与泥搀杂，那国也必有铁的力量。And just as you saw that the feet and toes were made partly of fired clay and partly of iron, so this will be a divided kingdom, yet some of the strength of iron will be in it—just as you saw the iron mixed with clay.

⁴²那脚指头，既是半铁半泥，那国也必半强半弱。And as the toes of the feet were partly iron and partly clay, so this kingdom will be partly strong and partly brittle.

⁴³你既见铁与泥搀杂，那国民也必与各种人搀杂，却不能彼此相合，正如铁与泥不能相合一样。As you saw the iron mixed with clay, so the peoples will mix with one another but will not hold together any more than iron mixes with clay.

天上的神必另立一国

⁴⁴当那列王在位的时候，天上的　神必另立一国，永不败坏，也不归别国的人，却要打碎灭绝那一切国，这国必存到永远。In the days of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people. It will shatter all these kingdoms and bring them to an end, but will itself stand forever.

⁴⁵你既看见非人手凿出来的一块石头从山而出，打碎金、银、铜、铁、泥，那就是至大的　神把后来必有的事给王指明。这梦准是这样，这讲解也是确实的。”And just as you saw a stone being cut out of the mountain without human hands, and it shattered the iron, bronze, clay, silver, and gold, so the great God has told the king what will happen in the future. The dream is true, and its interpretation is trustworthy.”

王高升但以理

⁴⁶当时，尼布甲尼撒王俯伏在地，向但以理下拜，并且吩咐人给他奉上供物和香品。At this, King Nebuchadnezzar fell on his face, paid homage to Daniel, and ordered that an offering and incense be presented to him.

⁴⁷王对但以理说：你既能显明这奥秘的事，你们的　神诚然是万神之神、万王之主，又是显明奥秘事的。”The king said to Daniel, “Your God is truly the God of gods and Lord of kings, the Revealer of Mysteries, since you were able to reveal this mystery.”

⁴⁸于是王高抬但以理，赏赐他许多上等礼物，派他管理巴比伦全省，又立他为总理，掌管巴比伦的一切哲士。Then the king promoted Daniel and gave him many generous gifts. He made him ruler over the entire province of Babylon and chief administrator over all the wise men of Babylon.

⁴⁹但以理求王，王就派沙得拉、米煞、亚伯尼歌管理巴比伦省的事务，只是但以理常在朝中侍立。And at Daniel’s request, the king appointed Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego to manage the province of Babylon, while Daniel remained in the king’s court.

不爱弟兄的不属神

¹⁰从此就显出谁是　神的儿女，谁是魔鬼的儿女。凡不行义的就不属　神，不爱弟兄的也是如此。By this the children of God are distinguished from the children of the devil: Anyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is anyone who does not love his brother.

从起初所听见的命令

¹¹我们应当彼此相爱。这就是你们从起初所听见的命令。This is the message you have heard from the beginning: We should love one another.

¹²不可像该隐；他是属那恶者，杀了他的兄弟。为什么杀了他呢？因自己的行为是恶的，兄弟的行为是善的。Do not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did Cain slay him? Because his own deeds were evil, while those of his brother were righteous.

已经出死入生

¹³弟兄们，世人若恨你们，不要以为希奇。So do not be surprised, brothers, if the world hates you.

¹⁴我们因为爱弟兄，就晓得是已经出死入生了。没有爱心的，仍住在死中。We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love our brothers. The one who does not love remains in death.

¹⁵凡恨他弟兄的，就是杀人的；你们晓得凡杀人的，没有永生存在他里面。Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that eternal life does not reside in a murderer.

主为我们舍命

¹⁶主为我们舍命，我们从此就知道何为爱；我们也当为弟兄舍命。By this we know what love is: Jesus laid down His life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.

¹⁷凡有世上财物的，看见弟兄穷乏，却塞住怜恤的心，爱　神的心怎能存在他里面呢？If anyone with earthly possessions sees his brother in need, but withholds his compassion from him, how can the love of God abide in him?

在行为和诚实上相爱

¹⁸小子们哪，我们相爱，不要只在言语和舌头上，总要在行为和诚实上。Little children, let us love not in word and speech, but in action and truth.

我们的心在神面前安稳

¹⁹从此就知道我们是属真理的，并且我们的心在　神面前可以安稳。And by this we will know that we belong to the truth, and will assure our hearts in His presence:

²⁰我们的心若责备我们，　神比我们的心大，一切事没有不知道的。Even if our hearts condemn us, God is greater than our hearts, and He knows all things.

²¹亲爱的弟兄啊，我们的心若不责备我们，就可以向　神坦然无惧了。Beloved, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God,

²²并且我们一切所求的，就从他得着；因为我们遵守他的命令，行他所喜悦的事。and we will receive from Him whatever we ask, because we keep His commandments and do what is pleasing in His sight.

神的命令

²³神的命令就是叫我们信他儿子耶稣基督的名，且照他所赐给我们的命令彼此相爱。And this is His commandment: that we should believe in the name of His Son, Jesus Christ, and we should love one another just as He commanded us.

²⁴遵守　神命令的，就住在　神里面，　神也住在他里面。我们所以知道　神住在我们里面是因他所赐给我们的圣灵。Whoever keeps His commandments remains in God, and God in him. And by this we know that He remains in us: by the Spirit He has given us.
