亚比雅接续作王

¹⁶罗波安与他列祖同睡，葬在大卫城里。他儿子亚比雅接续他作王。And Rehoboam rested with his fathers and was buried in the City of David. And his son Abijah reigned in his place.

亚比雅与耶罗波安交战

¹耶罗波安王十八年，亚比雅登基作犹大王，In the eighteenth year of Jeroboam’s reign, Abijah became king of Judah,

²在耶路撒冷作王三年。他母亲名叫米该亚（又作玛迦），是基比亚人乌列的女儿。亚比雅常与耶罗波安争战。and he reigned in Jerusalem three years. His mother’s name was Micaiah daughter of Uriel; she was from Gibeah. And there was war between Abijah and Jeroboam.

³有一次亚比雅率领挑选的兵四十万摆阵，都是勇敢的战士；耶罗波安也挑选大能的勇士八十万，对亚比雅摆阵。Abijah went into battle with an army of 400,000 chosen men, while Jeroboam drew up in formation against him with 800,000 chosen and mighty men of valor.

亚比雅在山上的宣告

⁴亚比雅站在以法莲山地中的洗玛脸山上，说：“耶罗波安和以色列众人哪，要听我说！Then Abijah stood on Mount Zemaraim in the hill country of Ephraim and said, “Hear me, O Jeroboam and all Israel!

⁵耶和华—以色列的　神曾立盐约（盐就是不废坏的意思），将以色列国永远赐给大卫和他的子孙，你们不知道吗？Do you not know that the LORD, the God of Israel, has given the kingship of Israel to David and his descendants forever by a covenant of salt?

⁶无奈大卫儿子所罗门的臣仆、尼八儿子耶罗波安起来背叛他的主人。Yet Jeroboam son of Nebat, a servant of Solomon son of David, rose up and rebelled against his master.

⁷有些无赖的匪徒聚集跟从他，逞强攻击所罗门的儿子罗波安；那时罗波安还幼弱，不能抵挡他们。Then worthless and wicked men gathered around him to resist Rehoboam son of Solomon when he was young, inexperienced, and unable to resist them.

⁸“现在你们有意抗拒大卫子孙手下所治耶和华的国，你们的人也甚多，你们那里又有耶罗波安为你们所造当作神的金牛犊。And now you think you can resist the kingdom of the LORD, which is in the hands of David’s descendants. You are indeed a vast army, and you have with you the golden calves that Jeroboam made for you as gods.

⁹你们不是驱逐耶和华的祭司亚伦的后裔和利未人吗？不是照着外邦人的恶俗为自己立祭司吗？无论何人牵一只公牛犊、七只公绵羊将自己分别出来，就可作虚无之神的祭司。But did you not drive out the priests of the LORD, the sons of Aaron, and the Levites? And did you not make priests for yourselves as do the peoples of other lands? Now whoever comes to consecrate himself with a young bull and seven rams can become a priest of things that are not gods.

¹⁰至于我们，耶和华是我们的　神，我们并没有离弃他。我们有事奉耶和华的祭司，都是亚伦的后裔，并有利未人各尽其职，But as for us, the LORD is our God. We have not forsaken Him; the priests who minister to the LORD are sons of Aaron, and the Levites attend to their duties.

¹¹每日早晚向耶和华献燔祭，烧美香，又在精金的桌子上摆陈设饼；又有金灯台和灯盏，每晚点起，因为我们遵守耶和华—我们　神的命；惟有你们离弃了他。Every morning and every evening they present burnt offerings and fragrant incense to the LORD. They set out the rows of showbread on the ceremonially clean table, and every evening they light the lamps of the gold lampstand. We are carrying out the requirements of the LORD our God, while you have forsaken Him.

¹²率领我们的是　神，我们这里也有　神的祭司拿号向你们吹出大声。以色列人哪，不要与耶和华—你们列祖的　神争战，因你们必不能亨通。”Now behold, God Himself is with us as our head, and His priests with their trumpets sound the battle call against you. O children of Israel, do not fight against the LORD, the God of your fathers, for you will not succeed.”

犹大呼求神而得胜

¹³耶罗波安却在犹大人的后头设伏兵。这样，以色列人在犹大人的前头，伏兵在犹大人的后头。Now Jeroboam had sent troops around to ambush from the rear, so that while he was in front of Judah, the ambush was behind them.

¹⁴犹大人回头观看，见前后都有敌兵，就呼求耶和华，祭司也吹号。When Judah turned and discovered that the battle was both before and behind them, they cried out to the LORD. Then the priests blew the trumpets,

¹⁵于是犹大人呐喊；犹大人呐喊的时候，　神就使耶罗波安和以色列众人败在亚比雅与犹大人面前。and the men of Judah raised the battle cry. And when they raised the cry, God routed Jeroboam and all Israel before Abijah and Judah.

¹⁶以色列人在犹大人面前逃跑，　神将他们交在犹大人手里。So the Israelites fled before Judah, and God delivered them into their hands.

¹⁷亚比雅和他的军兵大大杀戮以色列人，以色列人仆倒死亡的精兵有五十万。Then Abijah and his people struck them with a mighty blow, and 500,000 chosen men of Israel fell slain.

¹⁸那时，以色列人被制伏了，犹大人得胜，是因倚靠耶和华—他们列祖的　神。Thus the Israelites were subdued at that time, and the men of Judah prevailed because they relied on the LORD, the God of their fathers.

¹⁹亚比雅追赶耶罗波安，攻取了他的几座城，就是伯特利和属伯特利的镇市，耶沙拿和属耶沙拿的镇市，以法拉音（或译：以弗伦）和属以法拉音的镇市。Abijah pursued Jeroboam and captured some cities from him: Bethel, Jeshanah, and Ephron, along with their villages.

²⁰亚比雅在世的时候，耶罗波安不能再强盛；耶和华攻击他，他就死了。Jeroboam did not again recover his power during the days of Abijah, and the LORD struck him down and he died.

²¹亚比雅却渐渐强盛，娶妻妾十四个，生了二十二个儿子，十六个女儿。But Abijah grew strong, married fourteen wives, and became the father of twenty-two sons and sixteen daughters.

²²亚比雅其余的事和他的言行都写在先知易多的传上。Now the rest of the acts of Abijah, along with his ways and his words, are written in the Treatise of the Prophet Iddo.

亚撒除掉偶像，国中太平

¹亚比雅与他列祖同睡，葬在大卫城里。他儿子亚撒接续他作王。亚撒年间，国中太平十年。Then Abijah rested with his fathers and was buried in the City of David. And his son Asa reigned in his place, and in his days the land was at peace for ten years.

³除掉外邦神的坛和邱坛，打碎柱像，砍下木偶，He removed the foreign altars and high places, shattered the sacred pillars, and chopped down the Asherah poles.

⁴吩咐犹大人寻求耶和华—他们列祖的　神，遵行他的律法、诫命；He commanded the people of Judah to seek the LORD, the God of their fathers, and to observe the law and the commandments.

⁵又在犹大各城邑除掉邱坛和日像，那时国享太平；He also removed the high places and incense altars from all the cities of Judah, and under him the kingdom was at peace.

⁶又在犹大建造了几座坚固城。国中太平数年，没有战争，因为耶和华赐他平安。Because the land was at peace, Asa built fortified cities in Judah. In those days no one made war with him, because the LORD had given him rest.

⁷他对犹大人说：“我们要建造这些城邑，四围筑墙，盖楼，安门，做闩；地还属我们，是因寻求耶和华—我们的　神；我们既寻求他，他就赐我们四境平安。”于是建造城邑，诸事亨通。So he said to the people of Judah, “Let us build these cities and surround them with walls and towers, with doors and bars. The land is still ours because we have sought the LORD our God. We have sought Him, and He has given us rest on every side.” So they built and prospered.

⁸亚撒的军兵，出自犹大拿盾牌拿枪的三十万人；出自便雅悯拿盾牌拉弓的二十八万人。这都是大能的勇士。Asa had an army of 300,000 men from Judah bearing large shields and spears, and 280,000 men from Benjamin bearing small shields and drawing the bow. All these were mighty men of valor.

击败古实王谢拉

⁹有古实王谢拉率领军兵一百万，战车三百辆，出来攻击犹大人，到了玛利沙。Then Zerah the Cushite came against them with an army of 1,000,000 men and 300 chariots, and they advanced as far as Mareshah.

¹⁰于是亚撒出去与他迎敌，就在玛利沙的洗法谷彼此摆阵。So Asa marched out against him and lined up in battle formation in the Valley of Zephathah near Mareshah.

¹¹亚撒呼求耶和华—他的　神说：“耶和华啊，惟有你能帮助软弱的，胜过强盛的。耶和华—我们的　神啊，求你帮助我们；因为我们仰赖你，奉你的名来攻击这大军。耶和华啊，你是我们的　神，不要容人胜过你。”Then Asa cried out to the LORD his God: “O LORD, there is no one besides You to help the powerless against the mighty. Help us, O LORD our God, for we rely on You, and in Your name we have come against this multitude. O LORD, You are our God. Do not let a mere mortal prevail against You.”

¹²于是耶和华使古实人败在亚撒和犹大人面前，古实人就逃跑了；So the LORD struck down the Cushites before Asa and Judah, and the Cushites fled.

¹³亚撒和跟随他的军兵追赶他们，直到基拉耳。古实人被杀的甚多，不能再强盛，因为败在耶和华与他军兵面前。犹大人就夺了许多财物，Then Asa and his army pursued them as far as Gerar. The Cushites fell and could not recover, for they were crushed before the LORD and His army. So the people of Judah carried off a great amount of plunder

¹⁴又打破基拉耳四围的城邑；耶和华使其中的人都甚恐惧。犹大人又将所有的城掳掠一空，因其中的财物甚多，and attacked all the cities around Gerar, because the terror of the LORD had fallen upon them. They plundered all the cities, since there was much plunder there.

¹⁵又毁坏了群畜的圈，夺取许多的羊和骆驼，就回耶路撒冷去了。They also attacked the tents of the herdsmen and carried off many sheep and camels. Then they returned to Jerusalem.

先知亚撒利雅的劝勉

¹神的灵感动俄德的儿子亚撒利雅。Now the Spirit of God came upon Azariah son of Oded.

²他出来迎接亚撒，对他说：“亚撒和犹大、便雅悯众人哪，要听我说：你们若顺从耶和华，耶和华必与你们同在；你们若寻求他，就必寻见；你们若离弃他，他必离弃你们。So he went out to meet Asa and said to him, “Listen to me, Asa and all Judah and Benjamin. The LORD is with you when you are with Him. If you seek Him, He will be found by you, but if you forsake Him, He will forsake you.

³以色列人不信真　神，没有训诲的祭司，也没有律法，已经好久了；For many years Israel has been without the true God, without a priest to instruct them, and without the law.

⁴但他们在急难的时候归向耶和华—以色列的　神，寻求他，他就被他们寻见。But in their distress they turned to the LORD, the God of Israel, and sought Him, and He was found by them.

⁵那时，出入的人不得平安，列国的居民都遭大乱；In those days there was no safety for travelers, because the residents of the lands had many conflicts.

⁶这国攻击那国，这城攻击那城，互相破坏，因为　神用各样灾难扰乱他们。Nation was crushed by nation, and city by city, for God afflicted them with all kinds of adversity.

⁷现在你们要刚强，不要手软，因你们所行的必得赏赐。”But as for you, be strong; do not be discouraged, for your work will be rewarded.”

百姓立约寻求神

⁸亚撒听见这话和俄德儿子先知亚撒利雅的预言，就壮起胆来，在犹大、便雅悯全地，并以法莲山地所夺的各城，将可憎之物尽都除掉，又在耶和华殿的廊前重新修筑耶和华的坛；When Asa heard these words and the prophecy of Azariah son of Oded the prophet, he took courage and removed the detestable idols from the whole land of Judah and Benjamin and from the cities he had captured in the hill country of Ephraim. He then restored the altar of the LORD that was in front of the portico of the LORD’s temple.

⁹又招聚犹大、便雅悯的众人，并他们中间寄居的以法莲人、玛拿西人、西缅人。有许多以色列人归降亚撒，因见耶和华—他的　神与他同在。And he assembled all Judah and Benjamin, along with those from the tribes of Ephraim, Manasseh, and Simeon who had settled among them, for great numbers had come over to him from Israel when they saw that the LORD his God was with him.

¹⁰亚撒十五年三月，他们都聚集在耶路撒冷。So they gathered together in Jerusalem in the third month of the fifteenth year of Asa’s reign.

¹¹当日他们从所取的掳物中，将牛七百只、羊七千只献给耶和华。At that time they sacrificed to the LORD seven hundred oxen and seven thousand sheep from all the plunder they had brought back.

¹²他们就立约，要尽心尽性地寻求耶和华—他们列祖的　神。Then they entered into a covenant to seek the LORD, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and soul.

¹³凡不寻求耶和华—以色列　神的，无论大小、男女，必被治死。And whoever would not seek the LORD, the God of Israel, would be put to death, whether young or old, man or woman.

¹⁴他们就大声欢呼，吹号吹角，向耶和华起誓。They took an oath to the LORD with a loud voice, with shouting, trumpets, and rams’ horns.

¹⁵犹大众人为所起的誓欢喜；因他们是尽心起誓，尽意寻求耶和华，耶和华就被他们寻见，且赐他们四境平安。And all Judah rejoiced over the oath, for they had sworn it with all their heart. They had sought Him earnestly, and He was found by them. So the LORD gave them rest on every side.

亚撒贬了太后玛迦

¹⁶亚撒王贬了他祖母玛迦太后的位，因她造了可憎的偶像亚舍拉。亚撒砍下她的偶像，捣得粉碎，烧在汲沦溪边。King Asa also removed his grandmother Maacah from her position as queen mother because she had made a detestable Asherah pole. Asa chopped down the pole, crushed it, and burned it in the Kidron Valley.

¹⁷只是邱坛还没有从以色列中废去，然而亚撒的心一生诚实。The high places were not removed from Israel, but Asa’s heart was fully devoted all his days.

¹⁸亚撒将他父所分别为圣、与自己所分别为圣的金银和器皿都奉到　神的殿里。And he brought into the house of God the silver and gold and the articles that he and his father had dedicated.

¹⁹从这时直到亚撒三十五年，都没有争战的事。And there was no war until the thirty-fifth year of Asa’s reign.

亚撒仰赖亚兰王

¹亚撒三十六年，以色列王巴沙上来攻击犹大，修筑拉玛，不许人从犹大王亚撒那里出入。In the thirty-sixth year of Asa’s reign, Baasha king of Israel went up against Judah and fortified Ramah to prevent anyone from leaving or entering the territory of Asa king of Judah.

²于是亚撒从耶和华殿和王宫的府库里拿出金银来，送与住大马士革的亚兰王便·哈达，说：So Asa withdrew the silver and gold from the treasuries of the house of the LORD and the royal palace, and he sent it with this message to Ben-hadad king of Aram, who was ruling in Damascus:

³“你父曾与我父立约，我与你也要立约。现在我将金银送给你，求你废掉你与以色列王巴沙所立的约，使他离开我。”“Let there be a treaty between me and you as there was between my father and your father. See, I have sent you silver and gold. Now go and break your treaty with Baasha king of Israel, so that he will withdraw from me.”

⁴便·哈达听从亚撒王的话，派军长去攻击以色列的城邑。他们就攻破以云、但、亚伯·玛音，和拿弗他利一切的积货城。And Ben-hadad listened to King Asa and sent the commanders of his armies against the cities of Israel, conquering Ijon, Dan, Abel-maim, and all the store cities of Naphtali.

⁵巴沙听见就停工，不修筑拉玛了。When Baasha learned of this, he stopped fortifying Ramah and abandoned his work.

⁶于是亚撒王率领犹大众人，将巴沙修筑拉玛所用的石头、木头都运去，用以修筑迦巴和米斯巴。Then King Asa brought all the men of Judah, and they carried away the stones of Ramah and the timbers Baasha had used for building. And with these materials he built up Geba and Mizpah.

先见哈拿尼的责备

⁷那时，先见哈拿尼来见犹大王亚撒，对他说：“因你仰赖亚兰王，没有仰赖耶和华—你的　神，所以亚兰王的军兵脱离了你的手。At that time Hanani the seer came to King Asa of Judah and told him, “Because you have relied on the king of Aram and not on the LORD your God, the army of the king of Aram has escaped from your hand.

⁸古实人、路比人的军队不是甚大吗？战车马兵不是极多吗？只因你仰赖耶和华，他便将他们交在你手里。Were not the Cushites and Libyans a vast army with many chariots and horsemen? Yet because you relied on the LORD, He delivered them into your hand.

⁹耶和华的眼目遍察全地，要显大能帮助向他心存诚实的人。你这事行得愚昧；此后，你必有争战的事。”For the eyes of the LORD roam to and fro over all the earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose hearts are fully devoted to Him. You have acted foolishly in this matter. From now on, therefore, you will be at war.”

¹⁰亚撒因此恼恨先见，将他囚在监里。那时亚撒也虐待一些人民。Asa was angry with the seer and became so enraged over this matter that he put the man in prison. And at the same time Asa oppressed some of the people.

亚撒晚年患病而死

¹¹亚撒所行的事，自始至终都写在犹大和以色列诸王记上。Now the acts of Asa, from beginning to end, are indeed written in the Book of the Kings of Judah and Israel.

¹²亚撒作王三十九年，他脚上有病，而且甚重。病的时候没有求耶和华，只求医生。In the thirty-ninth year of his reign, Asa became diseased in his feet, and his disease became increasingly severe. Yet even in his illness he did not seek the LORD, but only the physicians.

¹³他作王四十一年而死，与他列祖同睡，So in the forty-first year of his reign, Asa died and rested with his fathers.

¹⁴葬在大卫城自己所凿的坟墓里，放在床上，其床堆满各样馨香的香料，就是按做香的作法调和的香料，又为他烧了许多的物件。And he was buried in the tomb that he had cut out for himself in the City of David. They laid him on a bier that was full of spices and various blended perfumes; then they made a great fire in his honor.

分散的人到处传道

⁴那些分散的人往各处去传道。Those who had been scattered preached the word wherever they went.

腓利在撒马利亚

⁵腓利下撒马利亚城去，宣讲基督。Philip went down to a city in Samaria and proclaimed the Christ to them.

⁶众人听见了，又看见腓利所行的神迹，就同心合意地听从他的话。The crowds all paid close attention to Philip’s message and to the signs they saw him perform.

⁷因为有许多人被污鬼附着，那些鬼大声呼叫，从他们身上出来；还有许多瘫痪的、瘸腿的，都得了医治。With loud shrieks, unclean spirits came out of many who were possessed, and many of the paralyzed and lame were healed.

⁸在那城里，就大有欢喜。So there was great joy in that city.

行邪术的西门

⁹有一个人，名叫西门，向来在那城里行邪术，妄自尊大，使撒马利亚的百姓惊奇；Prior to that time, a man named Simon had practiced sorcery in the city and astounded the people of Samaria. He claimed to be someone great,

¹⁰无论大小都听从他，说：“这人就是那称为　神的大能者。”and all the people, from the least to the greatest, heeded his words and said, “This man is the divine power called the Great Power.”

¹¹他们听从他，因他久用邪术，使他们惊奇。They paid close attention to him because he had astounded them for a long time with his sorcery.

¹²及至他们信了腓利所传　神国的福音和耶稣基督的名，连男带女就受了洗。But when they believed Philip as he preached the gospel of the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

¹³西门自己也信了；既受了洗，就常与腓利在一处，看见他所行的神迹和大异能，就甚惊奇。Even Simon himself believed and was baptized. He followed Philip closely and was astounded by the great signs and miracles he observed.

彼得、约翰为撒马利亚人祷告

¹⁴使徒在耶路撒冷听见撒马利亚人领受了　神的道，就打发彼得、约翰往他们那里去。When the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them.

¹⁵两个人到了，就为他们祷告，要叫他们受圣灵。On their arrival, they prayed for them to receive the Holy Spirit.

¹⁶因为圣灵还没有降在他们一个人身上，他们只奉主耶稣的名受了洗。For the Holy Spirit had not yet fallen upon any of them; they had simply been baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus.

¹⁷于是使徒按手在他们头上，他们就受了圣灵。Then Peter and John laid their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.

西门想用钱买权柄

¹⁸西门看见使徒按手，便有圣灵赐下，就拿钱给使徒，When Simon saw that the Spirit was given through the laying on of the apostles’ hands, he offered them money.

¹⁹说：“把这权柄也给我，叫我手按着谁，谁就可以受圣灵。”“Give me this power as well,” he said, “so that everyone on whom I lay my hands may receive the Holy Spirit.”

²⁰彼得说：“你的银子和你一同灭亡吧！因你想　神的恩赐是可以用钱买的。But Peter replied, “May your silver perish with you, because you thought you could buy the gift of God with money!

²¹你在这道上无分无关；因为在　神面前，你的心不正。You have no part or share in our ministry, because your heart is not right before God.

²²你当懊悔你这罪恶，祈求主，或者你心里的意念可得赦免。Repent, therefore, of your wickedness, and pray to the Lord. Perhaps He will forgive you for the intent of your heart.

²³我看出你正在苦胆之中，被罪恶捆绑。”For I see that you are poisoned by bitterness and captive to iniquity.”

²⁴西门说：“愿你们为我求主，叫你们所说的，没有一样临到我身上。”Then Simon answered, “Pray to the Lord for me, so that nothing you have said may happen to me.”

沿路传福音回耶路撒冷

²⁵使徒既证明主道，而且传讲，就回耶路撒冷去，一路在撒马利亚好些村庄传扬福音。And after Peter and John had testified and spoken the word of the Lord, they returned to Jerusalem, preaching the gospel in many of the Samaritan villages.
