蛇的引诱

¹耶和华　神所造的，惟有蛇比田野一切的活物更狡猾。蛇对女人说：“　神岂是真说不许你们吃园中所有树上的果子吗？”Now the serpent was more crafty than any beast of the field that the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden?’”

³惟有园当中那棵树上的果子，　神曾说：‘你们不可吃，也不可摸，免得你们死。’”but about the fruit of the tree in the middle of the garden, God has said, ‘You must not eat of it or touch it, or you will die.’”

⁴蛇对女人说：“你们不一定死；“You will not surely die,” the serpent told the woman.

⁵因为　神知道，你们吃的日子眼睛就明亮了，你们便如　神能知道善恶。”“For God knows that in the day you eat of it, your eyes will be opened and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

人吃了禁果

⁶于是女人见那棵树的果子好作食物，也悦人的眼目，且是可喜爱的，能使人有智慧，就摘下果子来吃了，又给她丈夫，她丈夫也吃了。When the woman saw that the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eyes, and that it was desirable for obtaining wisdom, she took the fruit and ate it. She also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate it.

⁷他们二人的眼睛就明亮了，才知道自己是赤身露体，便拿无花果树的叶子为自己编做裙子。And the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; so they sewed together fig leaves and made coverings for themselves.

神呼唤那人

⁸天起了凉风，耶和华　神在园中行走。那人和他妻子听见　神的声音，就藏在园里的树木中，躲避耶和华　神的面。Then the man and his wife heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the breeze of the day, and they hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden.

⁹耶和华　神呼唤那人，对他说：“你在哪里？”But the LORD God called out to the man, “Where are you?”

¹⁰他说：“我在园中听见你的声音，我就害怕；因为我赤身露体，我便藏了。”“I heard Your voice in the garden,” he replied, “and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid myself.”

¹¹耶和华说：“谁告诉你赤身露体呢？莫非你吃了我吩咐你不可吃的那树上的果子吗？”“Who told you that you were naked?” asked the LORD God. “Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you not to eat?”

¹²那人说：“你所赐给我、与我同居的女人，她把那树上的果子给我，我就吃了。”And the man answered, “The woman whom You gave me, she gave me fruit from the tree, and I ate it.”

¹³耶和华　神对女人说：“你做的是什么事呢？”女人说：“那蛇引诱我，我就吃了。”Then the LORD God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?” “The serpent deceived me,” she replied, “and I ate.”

神对蛇、女人、亚当的宣判

¹⁴耶和华　神对蛇说：你既做了这事，就必受咒诅，比一切的牲畜野兽更甚；你必用肚子行走，终身吃土。So the LORD God said to the serpent: “Because you have done this, cursed are you above all livestock and every beast of the field! On your belly will you go, and dust you will eat, all the days of your life.

¹⁵我又要叫你和女人彼此为仇；你的后裔和女人的后裔也彼此为仇。女人的后裔要伤你的头；你要伤他的脚跟。And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed. He will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.”

¹⁶又对女人说：我必多多加增你怀胎的苦楚；你生产儿女必多受苦楚。你必恋慕你丈夫；你丈夫必管辖你。To the woman He said: “I will sharply increase your pain in childbirth; in pain you will bring forth children. Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you.”

¹⁹你必汗流满面才得糊口，直到你归了土，因为你是从土而出的。你本是尘土，仍要归于尘土。By the sweat of your brow you will eat your bread, until you return to the ground—because out of it were you taken. For dust you are, and to dust you shall return.”

夏娃与皮衣

²⁰亚当给他妻子起名叫夏娃，因为她是众生之母。And Adam named his wife Eve, because she would be the mother of all the living.

²¹耶和华　神为亚当和他妻子用皮子做衣服给他们穿。And the LORD God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife, and He clothed them.

被赶出伊甸园

²²耶和华　神说：“那人已经与我们相似，能知道善恶；现在恐怕他伸手又摘生命树的果子吃，就永远活着。”Then the LORD God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of Us, knowing good and evil. And now, lest he reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life, and eat, and live forever...”

²³耶和华　神便打发他出伊甸园去，耕种他所自出之土。Therefore the LORD God banished him from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he had been taken.

²⁴于是把他赶出去了；又在伊甸园的东边安设基路伯和四面转动发火焰的剑，要把守生命树的道路。So He drove out the man and stationed cherubim on the east side of the Garden of Eden, along with a whirling sword of flame to guard the way to the tree of life.

该隐和亚伯的供物

¹有一日，那人和他妻子夏娃同房，夏娃就怀孕，生了该隐（就是得的意思），便说：“耶和华使我得了一个男子。”And Adam had relations with his wife Eve, and she conceived and gave birth to Cain. “With the help of the LORD I have brought forth a man,” she said.

²又生了该隐的兄弟亚伯。亚伯是牧羊的；该隐是种地的。Later she gave birth to Cain’s brother Abel. Now Abel was a keeper of sheep, while Cain was a tiller of the soil.

³有一日，该隐拿地里的出产为供物献给耶和华；So in the course of time, Cain brought some of the fruit of the soil as an offering to the LORD,

⁴亚伯也将他羊群中头生的和羊的脂油献上。耶和华看中了亚伯和他的供物，while Abel brought the best portions of the firstborn of his flock. And the LORD looked with favor on Abel and his offering,

⁵只是看不中该隐和他的供物。该隐就大大地发怒，变了脸色。but He had no regard for Cain and his offering. So Cain became very angry, and his countenance fell.

⁶耶和华对该隐说：“你为什么发怒呢？你为什么变了脸色呢？“Why are you angry,” said the LORD to Cain, “and why has your countenance fallen?

⁷你若行得好，岂不蒙悦纳？你若行得不好，罪就伏在门前。它必恋慕你，你却要制伏它。”If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you refuse to do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires you, but you must master it.”

该隐杀了亚伯

⁸该隐与他兄弟亚伯说话；二人正在田间。该隐起来打他兄弟亚伯，把他杀了。Then Cain said to his brother Abel, “Let us go out to the field.” And while they were in the field, Cain rose up against his brother Abel and killed him.

¹¹地开了口，从你手里接受你兄弟的血。现在你必从这地受咒诅。Now you are cursed and banished from the ground, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand.

¹²你种地，地不再给你效力；你必流离飘荡在地上。”When you till the ground, it will no longer yield its produce to you. You will be a fugitive and a wanderer on the earth.”

¹³该隐对耶和华说：“我的刑罚太重，过于我所能当的。But Cain said to the LORD, “My punishment is greater than I can bear.

¹⁴你如今赶逐我离开这地，以致不见你面；我必流离飘荡在地上，凡遇见我的必杀我。”Behold, this day You have driven me from the face of the earth, and from Your face I will be hidden; I will be a fugitive and a wanderer on the earth, and whoever finds me will kill me.”

¹⁵耶和华对他说：“凡杀该隐的，必遭报七倍。”耶和华就给该隐立一个记号，免得人遇见他就杀他。“Not so!” replied the LORD. “If anyone slays Cain, then Cain will be avenged sevenfold.” And the LORD placed a mark on Cain, so that no one who found him would kill him.

¹⁶于是该隐离开耶和华的面，去住在伊甸东边挪得之地。So Cain went out from the presence of the LORD and settled in the land of Nod, east of Eden.

该隐的后代与拉麦

¹⁷该隐与妻子同房，他妻子就怀孕，生了以诺。该隐建造了一座城，就按着他儿子的名将那城叫做以诺。And Cain had relations with his wife, and she conceived and gave birth to Enoch. Then Cain built a city and named it after his son Enoch.

¹⁸以诺生以拿；以拿生米户雅利；米户雅利生玛土撒利；玛土撒利生拉麦。Now to Enoch was born Irad, and Irad was the father of Mehujael, and Mehujael was the father of Methusael, and Methusael was the father of Lamech.

¹⁹拉麦娶了两个妻：一个名叫亚大，一个名叫洗拉。And Lamech married two women, one named Adah and the other Zillah.

²⁰亚大生雅八；雅八就是住帐棚、牧养牲畜之人的祖师。Adah gave birth to Jabal; he was the father of those who dwell in tents and raise livestock.

²¹雅八的兄弟名叫犹八；他是一切弹琴吹箫之人的祖师。And his brother’s name was Jubal; he was the father of all who play the harp and flute.

²²洗拉又生了土八·该隐；他是打造各样铜铁利器的（或译：是铜匠铁匠的祖师）。土八·该隐的妹子是拿玛。And Zillah gave birth to Tubal-cain, a forger of every implement of bronze and iron. And the sister of Tubal-cain was Naamah.

²³拉麦对他两个妻子说：亚大、洗拉，听我的声音；拉麦的妻子，细听我的话语：壮年人伤我，我把他杀了；少年人损我，我把他害了（或译：我杀壮士却伤自己，我害幼童却损本身）。Then Lamech said to his wives: “Adah and Zillah, hear my voice; wives of Lamech, listen to my speech. For I have slain a man for wounding me, a young man for striking me.

²⁴若杀该隐，遭报七倍，杀拉麦，必遭报七十七倍。If Cain is avenged sevenfold, then Lamech seventy-sevenfold.”

塞特出生，人求告耶和华

²⁵亚当又与妻子同房，她就生了一个儿子，起名叫塞特，意思说：“　神另给我立了一个儿子代替亚伯，因为该隐杀了他。”And Adam again had relations with his wife, and she gave birth to a son and named him Seth, saying, “God has granted me another seed in place of Abel, since Cain killed him.”

²⁶塞特也生了一个儿子，起名叫以挪士。那时候，人才求告耶和华的名。And to Seth also a son was born, and he called him Enosh. At that time men began to call upon the name of the LORD.

从亚当到挪亚的家谱

¹亚当的后代记在下面。（当　神造人的日子，是照着自己的样式造的，This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, He made him in His own likeness.

²并且造男造女。在他们被造的日子，　神赐福给他们，称他们为“人”。）Male and female He created them, and He blessed them. And in the day they were created, He called them “man.”

³亚当活到一百三十岁，生了一个儿子，形象样式和自己相似，就给他起名叫塞特。When Adam was 130 years old, he had a son in his own likeness, after his own image; and he named him Seth.

⁴亚当生塞特之后，又在世八百年，并且生儿养女。And after he had become the father of Seth, Adam lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters.

⁵亚当共活了九百三十岁就死了。So Adam lived a total of 930 years, and then he died.

⁶塞特活到一百零五岁，生了以挪士。When Seth was 105 years old, he became the father of Enosh.

⁷塞特生以挪士之后，又活了八百零七年，并且生儿养女。And after he had become the father of Enosh, Seth lived 807 years and had other sons and daughters.

⁸塞特共活了九百一十二岁就死了。So Seth lived a total of 912 years, and then he died.

⁹以挪士活到九十岁，生了该南。When Enosh was 90 years old, he became the father of Kenan.

¹⁰以挪士生该南之后，又活了八百一十五年，并且生儿养女。And after he had become the father of Kenan, Enosh lived 815 years and had other sons and daughters.

¹¹以挪士共活了九百零五岁就死了。So Enosh lived a total of 905 years, and then he died.

¹²该南活到七十岁，生了玛勒列。When Kenan was 70 years old, he became the father of Mahalalel.

¹³该南生玛勒列之后，又活了八百四十年，并且生儿养女。And after he had become the father of Mahalalel, Kenan lived 840 years and had other sons and daughters.

¹⁴该南共活了九百一十岁就死了。So Kenan lived a total of 910 years, and then he died.

¹⁵玛勒列活到六十五岁，生了雅列。When Mahalalel was 65 years old, he became the father of Jared.

¹⁶玛勒列生雅列之后，又活了八百三十年，并且生儿养女。And after he had become the father of Jared, Mahalalel lived 830 years and had other sons and daughters.

¹⁷玛勒列共活了八百九十五岁就死了。So Mahalalel lived a total of 895 years, and then he died.

¹⁸雅列活到一百六十二岁，生了以诺。When Jared was 162 years old, he became the father of Enoch.

¹⁹雅列生以诺之后，又活了八百年，并且生儿养女。And after he had become the father of Enoch, Jared lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters.

²⁰雅列共活了九百六十二岁就死了。So Jared lived a total of 962 years, and then he died.

以诺与神同行

²¹以诺活到六十五岁，生了玛土撒拉。When Enoch was 65 years old, he became the father of Methuselah.

²²以诺生玛土撒拉之后，与　神同行三百年，并且生儿养女。And after he had become the father of Methuselah, Enoch walked with God 300 years and had other sons and daughters.

²³以诺共活了三百六十五岁。So Enoch lived a total of 365 years.

²⁴以诺与　神同行，　神将他取去，他就不在世了。Enoch walked with God, and then he was no more, because God had taken him away.

²⁵玛土撒拉活到一百八十七岁，生了拉麦。When Methuselah was 187 years old, he became the father of Lamech.

²⁶玛土撒拉生拉麦之后，又活了七百八十二年，并且生儿养女。And after he had become the father of Lamech, Methuselah lived 782 years and had other sons and daughters.

²⁷玛土撒拉共活了九百六十九岁就死了。So Methuselah lived a total of 969 years, and then he died.

挪亚出生

²⁸拉麦活到一百八十二岁，生了一个儿子，When Lamech was 182 years old, he had a son.

²⁹给他起名叫挪亚，说：“这个儿子必为我们的操作和手中的劳苦安慰我们；这操作劳苦是因为耶和华咒诅地。”And he named him Noah, saying, “May this one comfort us in the labor and toil of our hands caused by the ground that the LORD has cursed.”

³⁰拉麦生挪亚之后，又活了五百九十五年，并且生儿养女。And after he had become the father of Noah, Lamech lived 595 years and had other sons and daughters.

³¹拉麦共活了七百七十七岁就死了。So Lamech lived a total of 777 years, and then he died.

³²挪亚五百岁生了闪、含、雅弗。After Noah was 500 years old, he became the father of Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

博士从东方来

¹当希律王的时候，耶稣生在犹太的伯利恒。有几个博士从东方来到耶路撒冷，说：After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east arrived in Jerusalem,

²“那生下来作犹太人之王的在哪里？我们在东方看见他的星，特来拜他。”asking, “Where is the One who has been born King of the Jews? We saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him.”

希律打听基督生在何处

³希律王听见了，就心里不安；耶路撒冷合城的人也都不安。When King Herod heard this, he was disturbed, and all Jerusalem with him.

⁴他就召齐了祭司长和民间的文士，问他们说：“基督当生在何处？”And when he had assembled all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he asked them where the Christ was to be born.

⁵他们回答说：“在犹太的伯利恒。因为有先知记着，说：“In Bethlehem in Judea,” they replied, “for this is what the prophet has written:

⁶犹大地的伯利恒啊，你在犹大诸城中并不是最小的；因为将来有一位君王要从你那里出来，牧养我以色列民。”‘But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah, for out of you will come a ruler who will be the shepherd of My people Israel.’”

希律暗中召见博士

⁷当下，希律暗暗地召了博士来，细问那星是什么时候出现的，Then Herod called the Magi secretly and learned from them the exact time the star had appeared.

⁸就差他们往伯利恒去，说：“你们去仔细寻访那小孩子，寻到了就来报信，我也好去拜他。”And sending them to Bethlehem, he said: “Go and search carefully for the Child, and when you find Him, report to me, so that I too may go and worship Him.”

星引路，博士献礼

⁹他们听见王的话就去了。在东方所看见的那星忽然在他们前头行，直行到小孩子的地方，就在上头停住了。After they had heard the king, they went on their way, and the star they had seen in the east went ahead of them until it stood over the place where the Child was.

¹⁰他们看见那星，就大大地欢喜；When they saw the star, they rejoiced with great delight.

¹¹进了房子，看见小孩子和他母亲马利亚，就俯伏拜那小孩子，揭开宝盒，拿黄金、乳香、没药为礼物献给他。On coming to the house, they saw the Child with His mother Mary, and they fell down and worshiped Him. Then they opened their treasures and presented Him with gifts of gold and frankincense and myrrh.

¹²博士因为在梦中被主指示不要回去见希律，就从别的路回本地去了。And having been warned in a dream not to return to Herod, they withdrew to their country by another route.

逃往埃及

¹³他们去后，有主的使者向约瑟梦中显现，说：“起来！带着小孩子同他母亲逃往埃及，住在那里，等我吩咐你；因为希律必寻找小孩子，要除灭他。”When the Magi had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. “Get up!” he said. “Take the Child and His mother and flee to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the Child to kill Him.”

¹⁴约瑟就起来，夜间带着小孩子和他母亲往埃及去，So he got up, took the Child and His mother by night, and withdrew to Egypt,

¹⁵住在那里，直到希律死了。这是要应验主借先知所说的话，说：“我从埃及召出我的儿子来。”where he stayed until the death of Herod. This fulfilled what the Lord had spoken through the prophet: “Out of Egypt I called My Son.”

希律杀伯利恒的男孩

¹⁶希律见自己被博士愚弄，就大大发怒，差人将伯利恒城里并四境所有的男孩，照着他向博士仔细查问的时候，凡两岁以里的，都杀尽了。When Herod saw that he had been outwitted by the Magi, he was filled with rage. Sending orders, he put to death all the boys in Bethlehem and its vicinity who were two years old and under, according to the time he had learned from the Magi.

¹⁷这就应了先知耶利米的话，说：Then what was spoken through the prophet Jeremiah was fulfilled:

¹⁸在拉玛听见号咷大哭的声音，是拉结哭她儿女，不肯受安慰，因为他们都不在了。“A voice is heard in Ramah, weeping and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children and refusing to be comforted, because they are no more.”

回到以色列，住在拿撒勒

¹⁹希律死了以后，有主的使者在埃及向约瑟梦中显现，说：After Herod died, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt.

²⁰“起来！带着小孩子和他母亲往以色列地去，因为要害小孩子性命的人已经死了。”“Get up!” he said. “Take the Child and His mother and go to the land of Israel, for those seeking the Child’s life are now dead.”

²¹约瑟就起来，把小孩子和他母亲带到以色列地去；So Joseph got up, took the Child and His mother, and went to the land of Israel.

²²只因听见亚基老接着他父亲希律作了犹太王，就怕往那里去，又在梦中被主指示，便往加利利境内去了，But when he learned that Archelaus was reigning in Judea in place of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there. And having been warned in a dream, he withdrew to the district of Galilee,

²³到了一座城，名叫拿撒勒，就住在那里。这是要应验先知所说，他将称为拿撒勒人的话了。and he went and lived in a town called Nazareth. So was fulfilled what was spoken through the prophets: “He will be called a Nazarene.”
