米甸人欺压以色列

¹以色列人又行耶和华眼中看为恶的事，耶和华就把他们交在米甸人手里七年。Again the Israelites did evil in the sight of the LORD; so He delivered them into the hand of Midian for seven years,

²米甸人压制以色列人；以色列人因为米甸人，就在山中挖穴、挖洞、建造营寨。and the hand of Midian prevailed against Israel. Because of the Midianites, the Israelites prepared shelters for themselves in the mountains, caves, and strongholds.

³以色列人每逢撒种之后，米甸人、亚玛力人，和东方人都上来攻打他们，Whenever the Israelites planted their crops, the Midianites, Amalekites, and other people of the east would come up and invade them,

⁴对着他们安营，毁坏土产，直到迦萨，没有给以色列人留下食物，牛、羊、驴也没有留下；encamping against them as far as Gaza and destroying the produce of the land. They left Israel with no sustenance, neither sheep nor oxen nor donkeys.

⁵因为那些人带着牲畜帐棚来，像蝗虫那样多，人和骆驼无数，都进入国内，毁坏全地。For the Midianites came with their livestock and their tents like a great swarm of locusts. They and their camels were innumerable, and they entered the land to ravage it.

⁶以色列人因米甸人的缘故，极其穷乏，就呼求耶和华。Israel was greatly impoverished by Midian, and the Israelites cried out to the LORD.

⁷以色列人因米甸人的缘故，呼求耶和华，Now when the Israelites cried out to the LORD because of Midian,

⁸耶和华就差遣先知到以色列人那里，对他们说：“耶和华—以色列的　神如此说：‘我曾领你们从埃及上来，出了为奴之家，He sent them a prophet, who told them, “This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: I brought you up out of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.

⁹救你们脱离埃及人的手，并脱离一切欺压你们之人的手，把他们从你们面前赶出，将他们的地赐给你们’；I delivered you out of the hands of Egypt and all your oppressors. I drove them out before you and gave you their land.

¹⁰又对你们说：‘我是耶和华—你们的　神。你们住在亚摩利人的地，不可敬畏他们的　神。你们竟不听从我的话。’”And I said to you: ‘I am the LORD your God. You must not fear the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell.’ But you did not obey Me.”

耶和华的使者呼召基甸

¹¹耶和华的使者到了俄弗拉，坐在亚比以谢族人约阿施的橡树下。约阿施的儿子基甸正在酒榨那里打麦子，为要防备米甸人。Then the angel of the LORD came and sat down under the oak in Ophrah that belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, where his son Gideon was threshing wheat in a winepress to hide it from the Midianites.

¹²耶和华的使者向基甸显现，对他说：“大能的勇士啊，耶和华与你同在！”And the angel of the LORD appeared to Gideon and said, “The LORD is with you, O mighty man of valor.”

¹³基甸说：“主啊，耶和华若与我们同在，我们何致遭遇这一切事呢？我们的列祖不是向我们说‘耶和华领我们从埃及上来’吗？他那样奇妙的作为在哪里呢？现在他却丢弃我们，将我们交在米甸人手里。”“Please, my Lord,” Gideon replied, “if the LORD is with us, why has all this happened to us? And where are all His wonders of which our fathers told us, saying, ‘Has not the LORD brought us up out of Egypt?’ But now the LORD has forsaken us and delivered us into the hand of Midian.”

¹⁴耶和华观看基甸，说：“你靠着你这能力去从米甸人手里拯救以色列人，不是我差遣你去的吗？”The LORD turned to him and said, “Go in the strength you have and save Israel from the hand of Midian. Am I not sending you?”

¹⁵基甸说：“主啊，我有何能拯救以色列人呢？我家在玛拿西支派中是至贫穷的。我在我父家是至微小的。”“Please, my Lord,” Gideon replied, “how can I save Israel? Indeed, my clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the youngest in my father’s house.”

¹⁶耶和华对他说：“我与你同在，你就必击打米甸人，如击打一人一样。”“Surely I will be with you,” the LORD replied, “and you will strike down all the Midianites as one man.”

¹⁷基甸说：“我若在你眼前蒙恩，求你给我一个证据，使我知道与我说话的就是主。Gideon answered, “If I have found favor in Your sight, give me a sign that it is You speaking with me.

¹⁸求你不要离开这里，等我归回将礼物带来供在你面前。”主说：“我必等你回来。”Please do not depart from this place until I return to You. Let me bring my offering and set it before You.” And the LORD said, “I will stay until you return.”

¹⁹基甸去预备了一只山羊羔，用一伊法细面做了无酵饼，将肉放在筐内，把汤盛在壶中，带到橡树下，献在使者面前。So Gideon went in and prepared a young goat and unleavened bread and an ephah of flour. He placed the meat in a basket and the broth in a pot and brought them out to present to Him under the oak.

²⁰神的使者吩咐基甸说：“将肉和无酵饼放在这磐石上，把汤倒出来。”他就这样行了。And the angel of God said to him, “Take the meat and the unleavened bread, lay them on this rock, and pour out the broth.” And Gideon did so.

²¹耶和华的使者伸出手内的杖，杖头挨了肉和无酵饼，就有火从磐石中出来，烧尽了肉和无酵饼。耶和华的使者也就不见了。Then the angel of the LORD extended the tip of the staff that was in his hand and touched the meat and the unleavened bread. And fire flared from the rock and consumed the meat and the unleavened bread. Then the angel of the LORD vanished from his sight.

²²基甸见他是耶和华的使者，就说：“哀哉！主耶和华啊，我不好了，因为我觌面看见耶和华的使者。”When Gideon realized that it was the angel of the LORD, he said, “Oh no, Lord GOD! I have seen the angel of the LORD face to face!”

²³耶和华对他说：“你放心，不要惧怕，你必不致死。”But the LORD said to him, “Peace be with you. Do not be afraid, for you will not die.”

²⁴于是基甸在那里为耶和华筑了一座坛，起名叫“耶和华沙龙”（就是耶和华赐平安的意思）。（这坛在亚比以谢族的俄弗拉直到如今。）So Gideon built an altar to the LORD there and called it The LORD Is Peace. To this day it stands in Ophrah of the Abiezrites.

基甸拆毁巴力的坛

²⁵当那夜，耶和华吩咐基甸说：“你取你父亲的牛来，就是（或译：和）那七岁的第二只牛，并拆毁你父亲为巴力所筑的坛，砍下坛旁的木偶，On that very night the LORD said to Gideon, “Take your father’s young bull and a second bull seven years old, tear down your father’s altar to Baal, and cut down the Asherah pole beside it.

²⁶在这磐石（原文是保障）上整整齐齐地为耶和华—你的　神筑一座坛，将第二只牛献为燔祭，用你所砍下的木偶作柴。”Then build a proper altar to the LORD your God on the top of this stronghold. And with the wood of the Asherah pole you cut down, take the second bull and offer it as a burnt offering.”

²⁷基甸就从他仆人中挑了十个人，照着耶和华吩咐他的行了。他因怕父家和本城的人，不敢在白昼行这事，就在夜间行了。So Gideon took ten of his servants and did as the LORD had told him. But because he was too afraid of his father’s household and the men of the city, he did it by night rather than in the daytime.

²⁸城里的人清早起来，见巴力的坛拆毁，坛旁的木偶砍下，第二只牛献在新筑的坛上，When the men of the city got up in the morning, there was Baal’s altar torn down, with the Asherah pole cut down beside it and the second bull offered up on the newly built altar.

²⁹就彼此说：“这事是谁做的呢？”他们访查之后，就说：“这是约阿施的儿子基甸做的。”“Who did this?” they said to one another. And after they had investigated thoroughly, they were told, “Gideon son of Joash did it.”

³⁰城里的人对约阿施说：“将你儿子交出来，好治死他；因为他拆毁了巴力的坛，砍下坛旁的木偶。”Then the men of the city said to Joash, “Bring out your son. He must die, because he has torn down Baal’s altar and cut down the Asherah pole beside it.”

³¹约阿施回答站着攻击他的众人说：“你们是为巴力争论吗？你们要救他吗？谁为他争论，趁早将谁治死！巴力若果是神，有人拆毁他的坛，让他为自己争论吧！”But Joash said to all who stood against him, “Are you contending for Baal? Are you trying to save him? Whoever pleads his case will be put to death by morning! If Baal is a god, let him contend for himself with the one who has torn down his altar.”

³²所以当日人称基甸为耶路·巴力，意思说：“他拆毁巴力的坛，让巴力与他争论。”So on that day Gideon was called Jerubbaal, that is to say, “Let Baal contend with him,” because he had torn down Baal’s altar.

米甸联军聚集，基甸吹角召兵

³³那时，米甸人、亚玛力人，和东方人都聚集过河，在耶斯列平原安营。Then all the Midianites, Amalekites, and other people of the east gathered together, crossed over the Jordan, and camped in the Valley of Jezreel.

³⁴耶和华的灵降在基甸身上，他就吹角；亚比以谢族都聚集跟随他。So the Spirit of the LORD came upon Gideon, who blew the ram’s horn and rallied the Abiezrites behind him.

³⁵他打发人走遍玛拿西地，玛拿西人也聚集跟随他；又打发人去见亚设人、西布伦人、拿弗他利人，他们也都出来与他们会合。Calling them to arms, Gideon sent messengers throughout Manasseh, as well as Asher, Zebulun, and Naphtali, so that they came up to meet him.

羊毛上的露水

³⁶基甸对　神说：“你若果照着所说的话，借我手拯救以色列人，Then Gideon said to God, “If You are going to save Israel by my hand, as You have said,

³⁷我就把一团羊毛放在禾场上：若单是羊毛上有露水，别的地方都是干的，我就知道你必照着所说的话，借我手拯救以色列人。”then behold, I will place a fleece of wool on the threshing floor. If there is dew only on the fleece and all the ground is dry, then I will know that You are going to save Israel by my hand, as You have said.”

³⁸次日早晨基甸起来，见果然是这样；将羊毛挤一挤，从羊毛中拧出满盆的露水来。And that is what happened. When Gideon arose the next morning, he squeezed the fleece and wrung out the dew—a bowlful of water.

³⁹基甸又对　神说：“求你不要向我发怒，我再说这一次：让我将羊毛再试一次。但愿羊毛是干的，别的地方都有露水。”Then Gideon said to God, “Do not be angry with me; let me speak one more time. Please allow me one more test with the fleece. This time let it be dry, and the ground covered with dew.”

⁴⁰这夜　神也如此行：独羊毛上是干的，别的地方都有露水。And that night God did so. Only the fleece was dry, and dew covered the ground.

神拣选三百人

¹耶路·巴力就是基甸，他和一切跟随的人早晨起来，在哈律泉旁安营。米甸营在他们北边的平原，靠近摩利冈。Early in the morning Jerubbaal (that is, Gideon) and all the men with him camped beside the spring of Harod. And the camp of Midian was north of them in the valley near the hill of Moreh.

²耶和华对基甸说：“跟随你的人过多，我不能将米甸人交在他们手中，免得以色列人向我夸大，说：‘是我们自己的手救了我们。’Then the LORD said to Gideon, “You have too many men for Me to deliver Midian into their hands, lest Israel glorify themselves over Me, saying, ‘My own hand has saved me.’

³现在你要向这些人宣告说：‘凡惧怕胆怯的，可以离开基列山回去。’”于是有二万二千人回去，只剩下一万。Now, therefore, proclaim in the hearing of the men: ‘Whoever is fearful and trembling may turn back and leave Mount Gilead.’” So twenty-two thousand of them turned back, but ten thousand remained.

⁴耶和华对基甸说：“人还是过多；你要带他们下到水旁，我好在那里为你试试他们。我指点谁说：‘这人可以同你去’，他就可以同你去；我指点谁说：‘这人不可同你去’，他就不可同你去。”Then the LORD said to Gideon, “There are still too many men. Take them down to the water, and I will sift them for you there. If I say to you, ‘This one shall go with you,’ he shall go. But if I say, ‘This one shall not go with you,’ he shall not go.”

⁵基甸就带他们下到水旁。耶和华对基甸说：“凡用舌头舔水，像狗舔的，要使他单站在一处；凡跪下喝水的，也要使他单站在一处。”So Gideon brought the men down to the water, and the LORD said to him, “Separate those who lap the water with their tongues like a dog from those who kneel to drink.”

⁶于是用手捧着舔水的有三百人，其余的都跪下喝水。And the number of those who lapped the water with their hands to their mouths was three hundred men; all the others knelt to drink.

⁷耶和华对基甸说：“我要用这舔水的三百人拯救你们，将米甸人交在你手中；其余的人都可以各归各处去。”Then the LORD said to Gideon, “With the three hundred men who lapped the water I will save you and deliver the Midianites into your hand. But all the others are to go home.”

⁸这三百人就带着食物和角；其余的以色列人，基甸都打发他们各归各的帐棚，只留下这三百人。米甸营在他下边的平原里。So Gideon sent the rest of the Israelites to their tents but kept the three hundred men, who took charge of the provisions and rams’ horns of the others. And the camp of Midian lay below him in the valley.

大麦饼的梦

⁹当那夜，耶和华吩咐基甸说：“起来，下到米甸营里去，因我已将他们交在你手中。That night the LORD said to Gideon, “Get up and go down against the camp, for I have delivered it into your hand.

¹⁰倘若你怕下去，就带你的仆人普拉下到那营里去。But if you are afraid to do so, then go down to the camp with your servant Purah

¹¹你必听见他们所说的，然后你就有胆量下去攻营。”于是基甸带着仆人普拉下到营旁。and listen to what they are saying. Then your hands will be strengthened to attack the camp.” So he went with Purah his servant to the outposts where armed men were guarding the camp.

¹²米甸人、亚玛力人，和一切东方人都布散在平原，如同蝗虫那样多。他们的骆驼无数，多如海边的沙。Now the Midianites, Amalekites, and all the other people of the east had settled in the valley like a swarm of locusts, and their camels were as countless as the sand on the seashore.

¹³基甸到了，就听见一人将梦告诉同伴说：“我做了一梦，梦见一个大麦饼滚入米甸营中，到了帐幕，将帐幕撞倒，帐幕就翻转倾覆了。”And as Gideon arrived, a man was telling his friend about a dream. “Behold, I had a dream,” he said, “and I saw a loaf of barley bread come tumbling into the Midianite camp. It struck the tent so hard that the tent overturned and collapsed.”

¹⁴那同伴说：“这不是别的，乃是以色列人约阿施的儿子基甸的刀；　神已将米甸和全军都交在他的手中。”His friend replied: “This is nothing less than the sword of Gideon son of Joash, the Israelite. God has delivered Midian and the whole camp into his hand.”

¹⁵基甸听见这梦和梦的讲解，就敬拜　神，回到以色列营中，说：“起来吧！耶和华已将米甸的军队交在你们手中了。”When Gideon heard the dream and its interpretation, he bowed in worship. He returned to the camp of Israel and said, “Get up, for the LORD has delivered the camp of Midian into your hand.”

角、瓶和火把

¹⁶于是基甸将三百人分作三队，把角和空瓶交在各人手里（瓶内都藏着火把），And he divided the three hundred men into three companies and gave each man a ram’s horn in one hand and a large jar in the other, containing a torch.

¹⁷吩咐他们说：“你们要看我行事：我到了营的旁边怎样行，你们也要怎样行。“Watch me and do as I do,” Gideon said. “When I come to the outskirts of the camp, do exactly as I do.

¹⁸我和一切跟随我的人吹角的时候，你们也要在营的四围吹角，喊叫说：‘耶和华和基甸的刀！’”When I and all who are with me blow our horns, then you are also to blow your horns from all around the camp and shout, ‘For the LORD and for Gideon!’”

¹⁹基甸和跟随他的一百人，在三更之初才换更的时候，来到营旁，就吹角，打破手中的瓶。Gideon and the hundred men with him reached the outskirts of the camp at the beginning of the middle watch, just after the changing of the guard. They blew their horns and broke the jars that were in their hands.

²⁰三队的人就都吹角，打破瓶子，左手拿着火把，右手拿着角，喊叫说：“耶和华和基甸的刀！”The three companies blew their horns and shattered their jars. Holding the torches in their left hands and the horns in their right hands, they shouted, “A sword for the LORD and for Gideon!”

²¹他们在营的四围各站各的地方；全营的人都乱窜。三百人呐喊，使他们逃跑。Each Israelite took his position around the camp, and the entire Midianite army fled, crying out as they ran.

²²三百人就吹角，耶和华使全营的人用刀互相击杀，逃到西利拉的伯·哈示他，直逃到靠近他巴的亚伯·米何拉。And when the three hundred rams’ horns sounded, the LORD set all the men in the camp against one another with their swords. The army fled to Beth-shittah toward Zererah as far as the border of Abel-meholah near Tabbath.

²³以色列人就从拿弗他利、亚设，和玛拿西全地聚集来追赶米甸人。Then the men of Israel were called out from Naphtali, Asher, and all Manasseh, and they pursued the Midianites.

以法莲人捉住米甸首领

²⁴基甸打发人走遍以法莲山地，说：“你们下来攻击米甸人，争先把守约旦河的渡口，直到伯·巴拉。”于是以法莲的众人聚集，把守约旦河的渡口，直到伯·巴拉，Gideon sent messengers throughout the hill country of Ephraim to say, “Come down against the Midianites and seize the waters of the Jordan ahead of them as far as Beth-barah.” So all the men of Ephraim were called out, and they captured the waters of the Jordan as far as Beth-barah.

²⁵捉住了米甸人的两个首领：一名俄立，一名西伊伯；将俄立杀在俄立磐石上，将西伊伯杀在西伊伯酒榨那里；又追赶米甸人，将俄立和西伊伯的首级带过约旦河，到基甸那里。They also captured Oreb and Zeeb, the two princes of Midian; and they killed Oreb at the rock of Oreb and Zeeb at the winepress of Zeeb. So they pursued the Midianites and brought the heads of Oreb and Zeeb to Gideon on the other side of the Jordan.

平息以法莲人的怒气

¹以法莲人对基甸说：“你去与米甸人争战，没有招我们同去，为什么这样待我们呢？”他们就与基甸大大地争吵。Then the men of Ephraim said to Gideon, “Why have you done this to us? Why did you fail to call us when you went to fight against Midian?” And they contended with him violently.

²基甸对他们说：“我所行的岂能比你们所行的呢？以法莲拾取剩下的葡萄不强过亚比以谢所摘的葡萄吗？But Gideon answered them, “Now what have I accomplished compared to you? Are not the gleanings of Ephraim better than the grape harvest of Abiezer?

³神已将米甸人的两个首领俄立和西伊伯交在你们手中；我所行的岂能比你们所行的呢？”基甸说了这话，以法莲人的怒气就消了。God has delivered Oreb and Zeeb, the two princes of Midian, into your hand. What was I able to do compared to you?” When he had said this, their anger against him subsided.

疏割和毘努伊勒拒绝供饼

⁴基甸和跟随他的三百人到约旦河过渡，虽然疲乏，还是追赶。Then Gideon and his three hundred men came to the Jordan and crossed it, exhausted yet still in pursuit.

⁵基甸对疏割人说：“求你们拿饼来给跟随我的人吃，因为他们疲乏了；我们追赶米甸人的两个王西巴和撒慕拿。”So Gideon said to the men of Succoth, “Please give my troops some bread, for they are exhausted, and I am still pursuing Zebah and Zalmunna, the kings of Midian.”

⁶疏割人的首领回答说：“西巴和撒慕拿已经在你手里，你使我们将饼给你的军兵吗？”But the leaders of Succoth asked, “Are the hands of Zebah and Zalmunna already in your possession, that we should give bread to your army?”

⁷基甸说：“耶和华将西巴和撒慕拿交在我手之后，我就用野地的荆条和枳棘打伤你们。”“Very well,” Gideon replied, “when the LORD has delivered Zebah and Zalmunna into my hand, I will tear your flesh with the thorns and briers of the wilderness!”

⁸基甸从那里上到毗努伊勒，对那里的人也是这样说；毗努伊勒人也与疏割人回答他的话一样。From there he went up to Penuel and asked the same from them, but the men of Penuel gave the same response as the men of Succoth.

⁹他向毗努伊勒人说：“我平平安安回来的时候，我必拆毁这楼。”So Gideon told the men of Penuel, “When I return in triumph, I will tear down this tower!”

¹⁰那时西巴和撒慕拿，并跟随他们的军队都在加各，约有一万五千人，就是东方人全军所剩下的；已经被杀约有十二万拿刀的。Now Zebah and Zalmunna were in Karkor with their army of about fifteen thousand men—all that were left of the armies of the people of the east. A hundred and twenty thousand swordsmen had already fallen.

¹¹基甸就由挪巴和约比哈东边，从住帐棚人的路上去，杀败了米甸人的军兵，因为他们坦然无惧。And Gideon went up by way of the caravan route east of Nobah and Jogbehah, and he attacked their army, taking them by surprise.

¹²西巴和撒慕拿逃跑；基甸追赶他们，捉住米甸的二王西巴和撒慕拿，惊散全军。When Zebah and Zalmunna fled, Gideon pursued and captured these two kings of Midian, routing their entire army.

¹³约阿施的儿子基甸由希列斯坡从阵上回来，After this, Gideon son of Joash returned from the battle along the Ascent of Heres.

¹⁴捉住疏割的一个少年人，问他：“疏割的首领长老是谁？”他就将首领长老七十七个人的名字写出来。There he captured a young man of Succoth and interrogated him. The young man wrote down for him the names of the seventy-seven leaders and elders of Succoth.

¹⁵基甸到了疏割，对那里的人说：“你们从前讥诮我说：‘西巴和撒慕拿已经在你手里，你使我们将饼给跟随你的疲乏人吗？’现在西巴和撒慕拿在这里。”And Gideon went to the men of Succoth and said, “Here are Zebah and Zalmunna, about whom you taunted me, saying, ‘Are the hands of Zebah and Zalmunna already in your possession, that we should give bread to your weary men?’”

¹⁶于是捉住那城内的长老，用野地的荆条和枳棘责打（原文是指教）疏割人；Then he took the elders of the city, and using the thorns and briers of the wilderness, he disciplined the men of Succoth.

¹⁷又拆了毗努伊勒的楼，杀了那城里的人。He also pulled down the tower of Penuel and killed the men of the city.

杀了西巴和撒慕拿

¹⁸基甸问西巴和撒慕拿说：“你们在他泊山所杀的人是什么样式？”回答说：“他们好像你，各人都有王子的样式。”Next, Gideon asked Zebah and Zalmunna, “What kind of men did you kill at Tabor?” “Men like you,” they answered, “each one resembling the son of a king.”

¹⁹基甸说：“他们是我同母的弟兄，我指着永生的耶和华起誓，你们从前若存留他们的性命，我如今就不杀你们了。”“They were my brothers,” Gideon replied, “the sons of my mother! As surely as the LORD lives, if you had let them live, I would not kill you.”

²⁰于是对他的长子益帖说：“你起来杀他们。”但益帖因为是童子，害怕，不敢拔刀。So he said to Jether, his firstborn, “Get up and kill them.” But the young man did not draw his sword; he was fearful because he was still a youth.

²¹西巴和撒慕拿说：“你自己起来杀我们吧！因为人如何，力量也是如何。”基甸就起来，杀了西巴和撒慕拿，夺获他们骆驼项上戴的月牙圈。Then Zebah and Zalmunna said, “Get up and kill us yourself, for as the man is, so is his strength.” So Gideon got up and killed Zebah and Zalmunna, and he took the crescent ornaments from the necks of their camels.

基甸不作王，却造了以弗得

²²以色列人对基甸说：“你既救我们脱离米甸人的手，愿你和你的儿孙管理我们。”Then the Israelites said to Gideon, “Rule over us—you and your son and grandson—for you have saved us from the hand of Midian.”

²³基甸说：“我不管理你们，我的儿子也不管理你们，惟有耶和华管理你们。”But Gideon replied, “I will not rule over you, nor will my son. The LORD shall rule over you.”

²⁴基甸又对他们说：“我有一件事求你们：请你们各人将所夺的耳环给我。”（原来仇敌是以实玛利人，都是戴金耳环的。）Then he added, “Let me make a request of you, that each of you give me an earring from his plunder.” (For the enemies had gold earrings because they were Ishmaelites.)

²⁵他们说：“我们情愿给你”，就铺开一件外衣，各人将所夺的耳环丢在其上。“We will give them gladly,” they replied. So they spread out a garment, and each man threw an earring from his plunder onto it.

²⁶基甸所要出来的金耳环重一千七百舍客勒金子。此外还有米甸王所戴的月环、耳坠，和所穿的紫色衣服，并骆驼项上的金链子。The weight of the gold earrings he had requested was 1,700 shekels, in addition to the crescent ornaments, the pendants, the purple garments of the kings of Midian, and the chains from the necks of their camels.

²⁷基甸以此制造了一个以弗得，设立在本城俄弗拉。后来以色列人拜那以弗得行了邪淫；这就作了基甸和他全家的网罗。From all this Gideon made an ephod, which he placed in Ophrah, his hometown. But soon all Israel prostituted themselves by worshiping it there, and it became a snare to Gideon and his household.

²⁸这样，米甸人被以色列人制伏了，不敢再抬头。基甸还在的日子，国中太平四十年。In this way Midian was subdued before the Israelites and did not raise its head again. So the land had rest for forty years in the days of Gideon,

基甸的晚年

²⁹约阿施的儿子耶路·巴力回去，住在自己家里。and he—Jerubbaal son of Joash—returned home and settled down.

³⁰基甸有七十个亲生的儿子，因为他有许多的妻。Gideon had seventy sons of his own, since he had many wives.

³¹他的妾住在示剑，也给他生了一个儿子。基甸与他起名叫亚比米勒。His concubine, who dwelt in Shechem, also bore him a son, and he named him Abimelech.

³²约阿施的儿子基甸，年纪老迈而死，葬在亚比以谢族的俄弗拉，在他父亲约阿施的坟墓里。Later, Gideon son of Joash died at a ripe old age and was buried in the tomb of his father Joash in Ophrah of the Abiezrites.

防备假冒为善

¹这时，有几万人聚集，甚至彼此践踏。耶稣开讲，先对门徒说：“你们要防备法利赛人的酵，就是假冒为善。In the meantime, a crowd of many thousands had gathered, so that they were trampling one another. Jesus began to speak first to His disciples: “Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

²掩盖的事没有不露出来的；隐藏的事没有不被人知道的。There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, and nothing hidden that will not be made known.

³因此，你们在暗中所说的，将要在明处被人听见；在内室附耳所说的，将要在房上被人宣扬。”What you have spoken in the dark will be heard in the daylight, and what you have whispered in the inner rooms will be proclaimed from the housetops.

不要怕人，要敬畏神

⁴“我的朋友，我对你们说，那杀身体以后不能再做什么的，不要怕他们。I tell you, My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more.

⁵我要指示你们当怕的是谁：当怕那杀了以后又有权柄丢在地狱里的。我实在告诉你们，正要怕他。But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear the One who, after you have been killed, has authority to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear Him!

⁶五个麻雀不是卖二分银子吗？但在　神面前，一个也不忘记；Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God.

⁷就是你们的头发，也都被数过了。不要惧怕，你们比许多麻雀还贵重！”And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So do not be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

在人面前认主

⁸“我又告诉你们，凡在人面前认我的，人子在　神的使者面前也必认他；I tell you, everyone who confesses Me before men, the Son of Man will also confess him before the angels of God.

⁹在人面前不认我的，人子在　神的使者面前也必不认他。But whoever denies Me before men will be denied before the angels of God.

无知的财主

¹³众人中有一个人对耶稣说：“夫子！请你吩咐我的兄长和我分开家业。”Someone in the crowd said to Him, “Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me.”

¹⁴耶稣说：“你这个人！谁立我作你们断事的官，给你们分家业呢？”But Jesus replied, “Man, who appointed Me judge or executor between you?”

¹⁵于是对众人说：“你们要谨慎自守，免去一切的贪心，因为人的生命不在乎家道丰富。”And He said to them, “Watch out! Guard yourselves against every form of greed, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.”

¹⁶就用比喻对他们说：“有一个财主田产丰盛；Then He told them a parable: “The ground of a certain rich man produced an abundance.

¹⁷自己心里思想说：‘我的出产没有地方收藏，怎么办呢？’So he thought to himself, ‘What shall I do, since I have nowhere to store my crops?’

¹⁸又说：‘我要这么办：要把我的仓房拆了，另盖更大的，在那里好收藏我一切的粮食和财物，Then he said, ‘This is what I will do: I will tear down my barns and will build bigger ones, and there I will store up all my grain and my goods.

¹⁹然后要对我的灵魂说：灵魂哪，你有许多财物积存，可作多年的费用，只管安安逸逸地吃喝快乐吧！’Then I will say to myself, “You have plenty of good things laid up for many years. Take it easy. Eat, drink, and be merry!”’

²⁰神却对他说：‘无知的人哪，今夜必要你的灵魂；你所预备的要归谁呢？’But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life will be required of you. Then who will own what you have accumulated?’

²¹凡为自己积财，在　神面前却不富足的，也是这样。”This is how it will be for anyone who stores up treasure for himself but is not rich toward God.”

不要为生命忧虑

²²耶稣又对门徒说：“所以我告诉你们，不要为生命忧虑吃什么，为身体忧虑穿什么；Then Jesus said to His disciples, “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat, or about your body, what you will wear.

²³因为生命胜于饮食，身体胜于衣裳。For life is more than food, and the body more than clothes.

²⁴你想乌鸦，也不种也不收，又没有仓又没有库，　神尚且养活它。你们比飞鸟是何等地贵重呢！Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storehouse or barn; yet God feeds them. How much more valuable you are than the birds!

²⁵你们哪一个能用思虑使寿数多加一刻呢（或译：使身量多加一肘呢）？Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?

²⁶这最小的事，你们尚且不能做，为什么还忧虑其余的事呢？So if you cannot do such a small thing, why do you worry about the rest?

²⁷你想百合花怎么长起来；它也不劳苦，也不纺线。然而我告诉你们，就是所罗门极荣华的时候，他所穿戴的，还不如这花一朵呢！Consider how the lilies grow: They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his glory was adorned like one of these.

²⁸你们这小信的人哪，野地里的草今天还在，明天就丢在炉里，　神还给它这样的妆饰，何况你们呢！If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, how much more will He clothe you, O you of little faith!

²⁹你们不要求吃什么，喝什么，也不要挂心；And do not be concerned about what you will eat or drink. Do not worry about it.

³⁰这都是外邦人所求的。你们必须用这些东西，你们的父是知道的。For the Gentiles of the world strive after all these things, and your Father knows that you need them.

³¹你们只要求他的国，这些东西就必加给你们了。But seek His kingdom, and these things will be added unto you.

小群不要惧怕，财宝积在天上

³²你们这小群，不要惧怕，因为你们的父乐意把国赐给你们。Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father is pleased to give you the kingdom.

³³你们要变卖所有的周济人，为自己预备永不坏的钱囊，用不尽的财宝在天上，就是贼不能近、虫不能蛀的地方。Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide yourselves with purses that will not wear out, an inexhaustible treasure in heaven, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys.

³⁴因为，你们的财宝在哪里，你们的心也在那里。”For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
