约书亚召聚众领袖

¹耶和华使以色列人安静，不与四围的一切仇敌争战，已经多日。约书亚年纪老迈，A long time after the LORD had given Israel rest from all the enemies around them, when Joshua was old and well along in years,

²就把以色列众人的长老、族长、审判官，并官长都召了来，对他们说：“我年纪已经老迈。he summoned all Israel, including its elders, leaders, judges, and officers. “I am old and well along in years,” he said,

³耶和华—你们的　神因你们的缘故向那些国所行的一切事，你们亲眼看见了，因那为你们争战的是耶和华—你们的　神。“and you have seen everything that the LORD your God has done to all these nations for your sake, because it was the LORD your God who fought for you.

⁴我所剪除和所剩下的各国，从约旦河起到日落之处的大海，我已经拈阄分给你们各支派为业。See, I have allotted as an inheritance to your tribes these remaining nations, including all the nations I have already cut off, from the Jordan westward to the Great Sea.

⁵耶和华—你们的　神必将他们从你们面前赶出去，使他们离开你们，你们就必得他们的地为业，正如耶和华—你们的　神所应许的。The LORD your God will push them out of your way and drive them out before you, so that you can take possession of their land, as the LORD your God promised you.

谨守律法，专靠耶和华

⁶所以，你们要大大壮胆，谨守遵行写在摩西律法书上的一切话，不可偏离左右。Be very strong, then, so that you can keep and obey all that is written in the Book of the Law of Moses, not turning aside from it to the right or to the left.

⁷不可与你们中间所剩下的这些国民搀杂。他们的神，你们不可提他的名，不可指着他起誓，也不可事奉、叩拜；So you are not to associate with these nations that remain among you. You must not call on the names of their gods or swear by them, and you must not serve them or bow down to them.

⁸只要照着你们到今日所行的，专靠耶和华—你们的　神。Instead, you shall hold fast to the LORD your God, as you have done to this day.

⁹因为耶和华已经把又大又强的国民从你们面前赶出；直到今日，没有一人在你们面前站立得住。The LORD has driven out great and powerful nations before you, and to this day no one can stand against you.

¹⁰你们一人必追赶千人，因耶和华—你们的　神照他所应许的，为你们争战。One of you can put a thousand to flight, because the LORD your God fights for you, just as He promised.

¹¹你们要分外谨慎，爱耶和华—你们的　神。Therefore watch yourselves carefully, that you love the LORD your God.

若与列国联络

¹²你们若稍微转去，与你们中间所剩下的这些国民联络，彼此结亲，互相往来，For if you turn away and cling to the rest of these nations that remain among you, and if you intermarry and associate with them,

¹³你们要确实知道，耶和华—你们的　神必不再将他们从你们眼前赶出；他们却要成为你们的网罗、机槛、肋上的鞭、眼中的刺，直到你们在耶和华—你们　神所赐的这美地上灭亡。know for sure that the LORD your God will no longer drive out these nations before you. Instead, they will become for you a snare and a trap, a scourge in your sides and thorns in your eyes, until you perish from this good land that the LORD your God has given you.

神的话一句也没有落空

¹⁴“我现在要走世人必走的路。你们是一心一意地知道，耶和华—你们　神所应许赐福与你们的话没有一句落空，都应验在你们身上了。Now behold, today I am going the way of all the earth, and you know with all your heart and soul that not one of the good promises the LORD your God made to you has failed. Everything was fulfilled for you; not one promise has failed.

¹⁵耶和华—你们　神所应许的一切福气怎样临到你们身上，耶和华也必照样使各样祸患临到你们身上，直到把你们从耶和华—你们　神所赐的这美地上除灭。But just as every good thing the LORD your God promised you has come to pass, likewise the LORD will bring upon you the calamity He has threatened, until He has destroyed you from this good land He has given you.

¹⁶你们若违背耶和华—你们　神吩咐你们所守的约，去事奉别神，叩拜他，耶和华的怒气必向你们发作，使你们在他所赐的美地上速速灭亡。”If you transgress the covenant of the LORD your God, which He commanded you, and go and serve other gods and bow down to them, then the anger of the LORD will burn against you, and you will quickly perish from this good land He has given you.”

在示剑召聚众支派

¹约书亚将以色列的众支派聚集在示剑，召了以色列的长老、族长、审判官，并官长来，他们就站在　神面前。Then Joshua assembled all the tribes of Israel at Shechem. He summoned the elders, leaders, judges, and officers of Israel, and they presented themselves before God.

神从亚伯拉罕以来的作为

²约书亚对众民说：“耶和华—以色列的　神如此说：‘古时你们的列祖，就是亚伯拉罕和拿鹤的父亲他拉，住在大河那边事奉别神，And Joshua said to all the people, “This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: ‘Long ago your fathers, including Terah the father of Abraham and Nahor, lived beyond the Euphrates and worshiped other gods.

³我将你们的祖宗亚伯拉罕从大河那边带来，领他走遍迦南全地，又使他的子孙众多，把以撒赐给他；But I took your father Abraham from beyond the Euphrates and led him through all the land of Canaan, and I multiplied his descendants. I gave him Isaac,

⁴又把雅各和以扫赐给以撒，将西珥山赐给以扫为业；后来雅各和他的子孙下到埃及去了。and to Isaac I gave Jacob and Esau. I gave Esau Mount Seir to possess, but Jacob and his sons went down to Egypt.

⁵我差遣摩西、亚伦，并照我在埃及中所行的降灾与埃及，然后把你们领出来。Then I sent Moses and Aaron, and I afflicted the Egyptians by what I did there, and afterward I brought you out.

⁶我领你们列祖出埃及，他们就到了红海；埃及人带领车辆马兵追赶你们列祖到红海。When I brought your fathers out of Egypt and you reached the Red Sea, the Egyptians pursued them with chariots and horsemen as far as the Red Sea.

⁷你们列祖哀求耶和华，他就使你们和埃及人中间黑暗了，又使海水淹没埃及人。我在埃及所行的事，你们亲眼见过。你们在旷野也住了许多年日。So your fathers cried out to the LORD, and He put darkness between you and the Egyptians, over whom He brought the sea and engulfed them. Your very eyes saw what I did to the Egyptians. Then you lived in the wilderness for a long time.

⁸我领你们到约旦河东亚摩利人所住之地。他们与你们争战，我将他们交在你们手中，你们便得了他们的地为业；我也在你们面前将他们灭绝。Later, I brought you to the land of the Amorites who lived beyond the Jordan. They fought against you, but I delivered them into your hand, that you should possess their land when I destroyed them before you.

⁹那时，摩押王西拨的儿子巴勒起来攻击以色列人，打发人召了比珥的儿子巴兰来咒诅你们。Then Balak son of Zippor, the king of Moab, set out to fight against Israel. He sent for Balaam son of Beor to curse you,

¹⁰我不肯听巴兰的话，所以他倒为你们连连祝福。这样，我便救你们脱离巴勒的手。but I would not listen to Balaam. So he blessed you again and again, and I delivered you from his hand.

¹¹你们过了约旦河，到了耶利哥；耶利哥人、亚摩利人、比利洗人、迦南人、赫人、革迦撒人、希未人、耶布斯人都与你们争战；我把他们交在你们手里。After this, you crossed the Jordan and came to Jericho. The people of Jericho fought against you, as did the Amorites, Perizzites, Canaanites, Hittites, Girgashites, Hivites, and Jebusites, and I delivered them into your hand.

¹²我打发黄蜂飞在你们前面，将亚摩利人的二王从你们面前撵出，并不是用你的刀，也不是用你的弓。I sent the hornet ahead of you, and it drove out the two Amorite kings before you, but not by your own sword or bow.

¹³我赐给你们地土，非你们所修治的；我赐给你们城邑，非你们所建造的。你们就住在其中，又得吃非你们所栽种的葡萄园、橄榄园的果子。’So I gave you a land on which you did not toil and cities that you did not build, and now you live in them and eat from vineyards and olive groves that you did not plant.’

要选择事奉谁

¹⁴“现在你们要敬畏耶和华，诚心实意地事奉他，将你们列祖在大河那边和在埃及所事奉的神除掉，去事奉耶和华。Now, therefore, fear the LORD and serve Him in sincerity and truth; cast aside the gods your fathers served beyond the Euphrates and in Egypt, and serve the LORD.

¹⁵若是你们以事奉耶和华为不好，今日就可以选择所要事奉的：是你们列祖在大河那边所事奉的神呢？是你们所住这地的亚摩利人的神呢？至于我和我家，我们必定事奉耶和华。”But if it is unpleasing in your sight to serve the LORD, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living. As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD!”

百姓回答要事奉耶和华

¹⁶百姓回答说：“我们断不敢离弃耶和华去事奉别神；The people replied, “Far be it from us to forsake the LORD to serve other gods!

¹⁷因耶和华—我们的　神曾将我们和我们列祖从埃及地的为奴之家领出来，在我们眼前行了那些大神迹，在我们所行的道上，所经过的诸国，都保护了我们。For the LORD our God brought us and our fathers out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery, and performed these great signs before our eyes. He also protected us throughout our journey and among all the nations through which we traveled.

¹⁸耶和华又把住此地的亚摩利人都从我们面前赶出去。所以，我们必事奉耶和华，因为他是我们的　神。”And the LORD drove out before us all the nations, including the Amorites who lived in the land. We too will serve the LORD, because He is our God!”

你们不能事奉耶和华

¹⁹约书亚对百姓说：“你们不能事奉耶和华；因为他是圣洁的　神，是忌邪的　神，必不赦免你们的过犯罪恶。But Joshua said to the people, “You are not able to serve the LORD, for He is a holy God; He is a jealous God; He will not forgive your rebellion or your sins.

²⁰你们若离弃耶和华去事奉外邦神，耶和华在降福之后，必转而降祸与你们，把你们灭绝。”If you forsake the LORD and serve foreign gods, He will turn and bring disaster on you and consume you, even after He has been good to you.”

²¹百姓回答约书亚说：“不然，我们定要事奉耶和华。”“No!” replied the people. “We will serve the LORD!”

²²约书亚对百姓说：“你们选定耶和华，要事奉他，你们自己作见证吧！”他们说：“我们愿意作见证。”Then Joshua told them, “You are witnesses against yourselves that you have chosen to serve the LORD.” “We are witnesses!” they said.

²³约书亚说：“你们现在要除掉你们中间的外邦神，专心归向耶和华—以色列的　神。”“Now, therefore,” he said, “get rid of the foreign gods among you and incline your hearts to the LORD, the God of Israel.”

²⁴百姓回答约书亚说：“我们必事奉耶和华—我们的　神，听从他的话。”So the people said to Joshua, “We will serve the LORD our God and obey His voice.”

在示剑立约

²⁵当日，约书亚就与百姓立约，在示剑为他们立定律例典章。On that day Joshua made a covenant for the people, and there at Shechem he established for them a statute and ordinance.

²⁶约书亚将这些话都写在　神的律法书上，又将一块大石头立在橡树下耶和华的圣所旁边。Joshua recorded these things in the Book of the Law of God. Then he took a large stone and set it up there under the oak that was near the sanctuary of the LORD.

²⁷约书亚对百姓说：“看哪，这石头可以向我们作见证；因为是听见了耶和华所吩咐我们的一切话，倘或你们背弃你们的　神，这石头就可以向你们作见证（倘或...见证：或译所以要向你们作见证，免得你们背弃耶和华—你们的　神）。”And Joshua said to all the people, “You see this stone. It will be a witness against us, for it has heard all the words the LORD has spoken to us, and it will be a witness against you if you ever deny your God.”

²⁸于是约书亚打发百姓各归自己的地业去了。Then Joshua sent the people away, each to his own inheritance.

约书亚去世

²⁹这些事以后，耶和华的仆人嫩的儿子约书亚，正一百一十岁，就死了。Some time later, Joshua son of Nun, the servant of the LORD, died at the age of 110.

³⁰以色列人将他葬在他地业的境内，就是在以法莲山地的亭拿·西拉，在迦实山的北边。And they buried him in the land of his inheritance, at Timnath-serah in the hill country of Ephraim, north of Mount Gaash.

³¹约书亚在世和约书亚死后，那些知道耶和华为以色列人所行诸事的长老还在的时候，以色列人事奉耶和华。Israel had served the LORD throughout the days of Joshua and of the elders who outlived him and who had experienced all the works that the LORD had done for Israel.

约瑟的骸骨葬在示剑

³²以色列人从埃及所带来约瑟的骸骨，葬埋在示剑，就是在雅各从前用一百块银子向示剑的父亲、哈抹的子孙所买的那块地里；这就作了约瑟子孙的产业。And the bones of Joseph, which the Israelites had brought up out of Egypt, were buried at Shechem in the plot of land that Jacob had purchased from the sons of Hamor, Shechem’s father, for a hundred pieces of silver. So it became an inheritance for Joseph’s descendants.

³³亚伦的儿子以利亚撒也死了，就把他葬在他儿子非尼哈所得以法莲山地的小山上。Eleazar son of Aaron also died, and they buried him at Gibeah, which had been given to his son Phinehas in the hill country of Ephraim.

马大接待耶稣

³⁸他们走路的时候，耶稣进了一个村庄。有一个女人，名叫马大，接他到自己家里。As they traveled along, Jesus entered a village where a woman named Martha welcomed Him into her home.

³⁹她有一个妹子，名叫马利亚，在耶稣脚前坐着听他的道。She had a sister named Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to His message.

马大心里忙乱

⁴⁰马大伺候的事多，心里忙乱，就进前来，说：“主啊，我的妹子留下我一个人伺候，你不在意吗？请吩咐她来帮助我。”But Martha was distracted by all the preparations to be made. She came to Jesus and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her to help me!”

不可少的只有一件

⁴¹耶稣回答说：“马大！马大！你为许多的事思虑烦扰，“Martha, Martha,” the Lord replied, “you are worried and upset about many things.

⁴²但是不可少的只有一件；马利亚已经选择那上好的福分，是不能夺去的。”But only one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, and it will not be taken away from her.”

求主教导我们祷告

¹耶稣在一个地方祷告；祷告完了，有个门徒对他说：“求主教导我们祷告，像约翰教导他的门徒。”One day in a place where Jesus had just finished praying, one of His disciples requested, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.”

主祷文

²耶稣说：“你们祷告的时候，要说：我们在天上的父（有古卷：父啊）：愿人都尊你的名为圣。愿你的国降临；愿你的旨意行在地上，如同行在天上（有古卷没有愿你的旨意....）。So Jesus told them, “When you pray, say: ‘Father, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come.

³我们日用的饮食，天天赐给我们。Give us each day our daily bread.

⁴赦免我们的罪，因为我们也赦免凡亏欠我们的人。不叫我们遇见试探；救我们脱离凶恶（有古卷没有末句）。”And forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us. And lead us not into temptation.’”

半夜借饼的朋友

⁵耶稣又说：“你们中间谁有一个朋友半夜到他那里去，说：‘朋友！请借给我三个饼；Then Jesus said to them, “Suppose one of you goes to his friend at midnight and says, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves of bread,

⁶因为我有一个朋友行路，来到我这里，我没有什么给他摆上。’because a friend of mine has come to me on a journey, and I have nothing to set before him.’

⁷那人在里面回答说：‘不要搅扰我，门已经关闭，孩子们也同我在床上了，我不能起来给你。’And suppose the one inside answers, ‘Do not bother me. My door is already shut, and my children and I are in bed. I cannot get up to give you anything.’

⁸我告诉你们，虽不因他是朋友起来给他，但因他情词迫切地直求，就必起来照他所需用的给他。I tell you, even though he will not get up to provide for him because of his friendship, yet because of the man’s persistence, he will get up and give him as much as he needs.

祈求、寻找、叩门

⁹我又告诉你们，你们祈求，就给你们；寻找，就寻见；叩门，就给你们开门。So I tell you: Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.

¹⁰因为，凡祈求的，就得着；寻找的，就寻见；叩门的，就给他开门。For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.

天父必将圣灵给求祂的人

¹¹你们中间作父亲的，谁有儿子求饼，反给他石头呢？求鱼，反拿蛇当鱼给他呢？What father among you, if his son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead?

¹²求鸡蛋，反给他蝎子呢？Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion?

¹³你们虽然不好，尚且知道拿好东西给儿女；何况天父，岂不更将圣灵给求他的人吗？”So if you who are evil know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”
