利亚生了四个儿子

³¹耶和华见利亚失宠（原文是被恨；下同），就使她生育，拉结却不生育。When the LORD saw that Leah was unloved, He opened her womb; but Rachel was barren.

³²利亚怀孕生子，就给他起名叫流便（就是有儿子的意思），因而说：“耶和华看见我的苦情，如今我的丈夫必爱我。”And Leah conceived and gave birth to a son, and she named him Reuben, for she said, “The LORD has seen my affliction. Surely my husband will love me now.”

³³她又怀孕生子，就说：“耶和华因为听见我失宠，所以又赐给我这个儿子”，于是给他起名叫西缅（就是听见的意思）。Again she conceived and gave birth to a son, and she said, “Because the LORD has heard that I am unloved, He has given me this son as well.” So she named him Simeon.

³⁴她又怀孕生子，起名叫利未（就是联合的意思），说：“我给丈夫生了三个儿子，他必与我联合。”Once again Leah conceived and gave birth to a son, and she said, “Now at last my husband will become attached to me, because I have borne him three sons.” So he was named Levi.

³⁵她又怀孕生子，说：“这回我要赞美耶和华”，因此给他起名叫犹大（就是赞美的意思）。这才停了生育。And once more she conceived and gave birth to a son and said, “This time I will praise the LORD.” So she named him Judah. Then Leah stopped having children.

拉结的使女辟拉生子

¹拉结见自己不给雅各生子，就嫉妒她姊姊，对雅各说：“你给我孩子，不然我就死了。”When Rachel saw that she was not bearing any children for Jacob, she envied her sister. “Give me children, or I will die!” she said to Jacob.

²雅各向拉结生气，说：“叫你不生育的是　神，我岂能代替他作主呢？”Jacob became angry with Rachel and said, “Am I in the place of God, who has withheld children from you?”

³拉结说：“有我的使女辟拉在这里，你可以与她同房，使她生子在我膝下，我便因她也得孩子（原文是被建立）。”Then she said, “Here is my maidservant Bilhah. Sleep with her, that she may bear children for me, so that through her I too can build a family.”

⁴拉结就把她的使女辟拉给丈夫为妾；雅各便与她同房，So Rachel gave Jacob her servant Bilhah as a wife, and he slept with her,

⁵辟拉就怀孕，给雅各生了一个儿子。and Bilhah conceived and bore him a son.

⁶拉结说：“　神伸了我的冤，也听了我的声音，赐我一个儿子”，因此给他起名叫但（就是伸冤的意思）。Then Rachel said, “God has vindicated me; He has heard my plea and given me a son.” So she named him Dan.

⁷拉结的使女辟拉又怀孕，给雅各生了第二个儿子。And Rachel’s servant Bilhah conceived again and bore Jacob a second son.

⁸拉结说：“我与我姊姊大大相争，并且得胜”，于是给他起名叫拿弗他利（就是相争的意思）。Then Rachel said, “In my great struggles, I have wrestled with my sister and won.” So she named him Naphtali.

利亚的使女悉帕生子

⁹利亚见自己停了生育，就把使女悉帕给雅各为妾。When Leah saw that she had stopped having children, she gave her servant Zilpah to Jacob as a wife.

¹⁰利亚的使女悉帕给雅各生了一个儿子。And Leah’s servant Zilpah bore Jacob a son.

¹¹利亚说：“万幸！”于是给他起名叫迦得（就是万幸的意思）。Then Leah said, “How fortunate!” So she named him Gad.

¹²利亚的使女悉帕又给雅各生了第二个儿子。When Leah’s servant Zilpah bore Jacob a second son,

¹³利亚说：“我有福啊，众女子都要称我是有福的”，于是给他起名叫亚设（就是有福的意思）。Leah said, “How happy I am! For the women call me happy.” So she named him Asher.

风茄

¹⁴割麦子的时候，流便往田里去，寻见风茄，拿来给他母亲利亚。拉结对利亚说：“请你把你儿子的风茄给我些。”Now during the wheat harvest, Reuben went out and found some mandrakes in the field. When he brought them to his mother, Rachel begged Leah, “Please give me some of your son’s mandrakes.”

¹⁵利亚说：“你夺了我的丈夫还算小事吗？你又要夺我儿子的风茄吗？”拉结说：“为你儿子的风茄，今夜他可以与你同寝。”But Leah replied, “Is it not enough that you have taken away my husband? Now you want to take my son’s mandrakes as well?” “Very well,” said Rachel, “he may sleep with you tonight in exchange for your son’s mandrakes.”

¹⁶到了晚上，雅各从田里回来，利亚出来迎接他，说：“你要与我同寝，因为我实在用我儿子的风茄把你雇下了。”那一夜，雅各就与她同寝。When Jacob came in from the field that evening, Leah went out to meet him and said, “You must come with me, for I have hired you with my son’s mandrakes.” So he slept with her that night.

利亚又生子

¹⁷神应允了利亚，她就怀孕，给雅各生了第五个儿子。And God listened to Leah, and she conceived and bore a fifth son to Jacob.

¹⁸利亚说：“　神给了我价值，因为我把使女给了我丈夫”，于是给他起名叫以萨迦（就是价值的意思）。Then Leah said, “God has rewarded me for giving my maidservant to my husband.” So she named him Issachar.

¹⁹利亚又怀孕，给雅各生了第六个儿子。Again Leah conceived and bore a sixth son to Jacob.

²⁰利亚说：“　神赐我厚赏；我丈夫必与我同住，因我给他生了六个儿子”，于是给他起名西布伦（就是同住的意思）。“God has given me a good gift,” she said. “This time my husband will honor me, because I have borne him six sons.” And she named him Zebulun.

²¹后来又生了一个女儿，给她起名叫底拿。After that, Leah gave birth to a daughter and named her Dinah.

神顾念拉结，约瑟出生

²²神顾念拉结，应允了她，使她能生育。Then God remembered Rachel. He listened to her and opened her womb,

²³拉结怀孕生子，说：“　神除去了我的羞耻”，and she conceived and gave birth to a son. “God has taken away my shame,” she said.

²⁴就给他起名叫约瑟（就是增添的意思），意思说：“愿耶和华再增添我一个儿子。”She named him Joseph, and said, “May the LORD add to me another son.”

雅各与拉班议定工价

²⁵拉结生约瑟之后，雅各对拉班说：“请打发我走，叫我回到我本乡本土去。Now after Rachel had given birth to Joseph, Jacob said to Laban, “Send me on my way so I can return to my homeland.

²⁶请你把我服事你所得的妻子和儿女给我，让我走；我怎样服事你，你都知道。”Give me my wives and children for whom I have served you, that I may go on my way. You know how hard I have worked for you.”

²⁷拉班对他说：“我若在你眼前蒙恩，请你仍与我同住，因为我已算定，耶和华赐福与我是为你的缘故”；But Laban replied, “If I have found favor in your eyes, please stay. I have learned by divination that the LORD has blessed me because of you.”

²⁸又说：“请你定你的工价，我就给你。”And he added, “Name your wages, and I will pay them.”

²⁹雅各对他说：“我怎样服事你，你的牲畜在我手里怎样，是你知道的。Then Jacob answered, “You know how I have served you and how your livestock have thrived under my care.

³⁰我未来之先，你所有的很少，现今却发大众多，耶和华随我的脚步赐福与你。如今，我什么时候才为自己兴家立业呢？”Indeed, you had very little before my arrival, but now your wealth has increased many times over. The LORD has blessed you wherever I set foot. But now, when may I also provide for my own household?”

³¹拉班说：“我当给你什么呢？”雅各说：“什么你也不必给我，只有一件事，你若应承，我便仍旧牧放你的羊群。“What can I give you?” Laban asked. “You do not need to give me anything,” Jacob replied. “If you do this one thing for me, I will keep on shepherding and keeping your flocks.

³²今天我要走遍你的羊群，把绵羊中凡有点的、有斑的，和黑色的，并山羊中凡有斑的、有点的，都挑出来；将来这一等的就算我的工价。Let me go through all your flocks today and remove from them every speckled or spotted sheep, every dark-colored lamb, and every spotted or speckled goat. These will be my wages.

³³以后你来查看我的工价，凡在我手里的山羊不是有点有斑的，绵羊不是黑色的，那就算是我偷的；这样便可证出我的公义来。”So my honesty will testify for me when you come to check on my wages in the future. If I have any goats that are not speckled or spotted, or any lambs that are not dark-colored, they will be considered stolen.”

³⁴拉班说：“好啊！我情愿照着你的话行。”“Agreed,” said Laban. “Let it be as you have said.”

³⁵当日，拉班把有纹的、有斑的公山羊，有点的、有斑的、有杂白纹的母山羊，并黑色的绵羊，都挑出来，交在他儿子们的手下，That very day Laban removed all the streaked or spotted male goats and every speckled or spotted female goat—every one that had any white on it—and every dark-colored lamb, and he placed them under the care of his sons.

³⁶又使自己和雅各相离三天的路程。雅各就牧养拉班其余的羊。Then he put a three-day journey between himself and Jacob, while Jacob was shepherding the rest of Laban’s flocks.

剥了皮的枝子

³⁷雅各拿杨树、杏树、枫树的嫩枝，将皮剥成白纹，使枝子露出白的来，Jacob, however, took fresh branches of poplar, almond, and plane trees, and peeled the bark, exposing the white inner wood of the branches.

³⁸将剥了皮的枝子，对着羊群，插在饮羊的水沟里和水槽里，羊来喝的时候，牝牡配合。Then he set the peeled branches in the watering troughs in front of the flocks coming in to drink. So when the flocks were in heat and came to drink,

³⁹羊对着枝子配合，就生下有纹的、有点的、有斑的来。they mated in front of the branches. And they bore young that were streaked or speckled or spotted.

⁴⁰雅各把羊羔分出来，使拉班的羊与这有纹和黑色的羊相对，把自己的羊另放一处，不叫他和拉班的羊混杂。Jacob set apart the young, but made the rest face the streaked dark-colored sheep in Laban’s flocks. Then he set his own stock apart and did not put them with Laban’s animals.

⁴¹到羊群肥壮配合的时候，雅各就把枝子插在水沟里，使羊对着枝子配合。Whenever the stronger females of the flock were in heat, Jacob would place the branches in the troughs, in full view of the animals, so that they would breed in front of the branches.

⁴²只是到羊瘦弱配合的时候就不插枝子。这样，瘦弱的就归拉班，肥壮的就归雅各。But if the animals were weak, he did not set out the branches. So the weaker animals went to Laban and the stronger ones to Jacob.

⁴³于是雅各极其发大，得了许多的羊群、仆婢、骆驼，和驴。Thus Jacob became exceedingly prosperous. He owned large flocks, maidservants and menservants, and camels and donkeys.

神吩咐雅各回乡

¹雅各听见拉班的儿子们有话说：“雅各把我们父亲所有的都夺了去，并借着我们父亲的，得了这一切的荣耀（或译：财）。”Now Jacob heard that Laban’s sons were saying, “Jacob has taken away all that belonged to our father and built all this wealth at our father’s expense.”

²雅各见拉班的气色向他不如从前了。And Jacob saw from the countenance of Laban that his attitude toward him had changed.

³耶和华对雅各说：“你要回你祖、你父之地，到你亲族那里去，我必与你同在。”Then the LORD said to Jacob, “Go back to the land of your fathers and to your kindred, and I will be with you.”

⁴雅各就打发人，叫拉结和利亚到田野羊群那里来，So Jacob sent word and called Rachel and Leah to the field where his flocks were,

⁵对她们说：“我看你们父亲的气色向我不如从前了；但我父亲的　神向来与我同在。and he told them, “I can see from your father’s countenance that his attitude toward me has changed; but the God of my father has been with me.

⁶你们也知道，我尽了我的力量服事你们的父亲。You know that I have served your father with all my strength.

⁷你们的父亲欺哄我，十次改了我的工价；然而　神不容他害我。And although he has cheated me and changed my wages ten times, God has not allowed him to harm me.

⁸他若说：‘有点的归你作工价’，羊群所生的都有点；他若说：‘有纹的归你作工价’，羊群所生的都有纹。If he said, ‘The speckled will be your wages,’ then the whole flock bore speckled offspring. If he said, ‘The streaked will be your wages,’ then the whole flock bore streaked offspring.

⁹这样，　神把你们父亲的牲畜夺来赐给我了。Thus God has taken away your father’s livestock and given them to me.

¹⁰羊配合的时候，我梦中举目一看，见跳母羊的公羊都是有纹的、有点的、有花斑的。When the flocks were breeding, I saw in a dream that the streaked, spotted, and speckled males were mating with the females.

¹¹神的使者在那梦中呼叫我说：‘雅各。’我说：‘我在这里。’In that dream the angel of God said to me, ‘Jacob!’ And I replied, ‘Here I am.’

¹²他说：‘你举目观看，跳母羊的公羊都是有纹的、有点的、有花斑的；凡拉班向你所做的，我都看见了。‘Look up,’ he said, ‘and see that all the males that are mating with the flock are streaked, spotted, or speckled; for I have seen all that Laban has done to you.

¹³我是伯特利的　神；你在那里用油浇过柱子，向我许过愿。现今你起来，离开这地，回你本地去吧！’”I am the God of Bethel, where you anointed the pillar and made a solemn vow to Me. Now get up, leave this land at once, and return to your native land.’”

¹⁴拉结和利亚回答雅各说：“在我们父亲的家里还有我们可得的分吗？还有我们的产业吗？And Rachel and Leah replied, “Do we have any portion or inheritance left in our father’s house?

¹⁵我们不是被他当作外人吗？因为他卖了我们，吞了我们的价值。Are we not regarded by him as outsiders? Not only has he sold us, but he has certainly squandered what was paid for us.

¹⁶神从我们父亲所夺出来的一切财物，那就是我们和我们孩子们的。现今凡　神所吩咐你的，你只管去行吧！”Surely all the wealth that God has taken away from our father belongs to us and to our children. So do whatever God has told you.”

雅各带全家逃走

¹⁷雅各起来，使他的儿子和妻子都骑上骆驼，Then Jacob got up and put his children and his wives on camels,

¹⁸又带着他在巴旦·亚兰所得的一切牲畜和财物，往迦南地、他父亲以撒那里去了。and he drove all his livestock before him, along with all the possessions he had acquired in Paddan-aram, to go to his father Isaac in the land in Canaan.

¹⁹当时拉班剪羊毛去了，拉结偷了他父亲家中的神像。Now while Laban was out shearing his sheep, Rachel stole her father’s household idols.

²⁰雅各背着亚兰人拉班偷走了，并不告诉他，Moreover, Jacob deceived Laban the Aramean by not telling him that he was running away.

²¹就带着所有的逃跑。他起身过大河，面向基列山行去。So he fled with all his possessions, crossed the Euphrates, and headed for the hill country of Gilead.

拉班追赶，搜寻神像

²²到第三日，有人告诉拉班，雅各逃跑了。On the third day Laban was informed that Jacob had fled.

²³拉班带领他的众弟兄去追赶，追了七日，在基列山就追上了。So he took his relatives with him, pursued Jacob for seven days, and overtook him in the hill country of Gilead.

²⁴夜间，　神到亚兰人拉班那里，在梦中对他说：“你要小心，不可与雅各说好说歹。”But that night God came to Laban the Aramean in a dream and warned him, “Be careful not to say anything to Jacob, either good or bad.”

²⁵拉班追上雅各。雅各在山上支搭帐棚；拉班和他的众弟兄也在基列山上支搭帐棚。Now Jacob had pitched his tent in the hill country of Gilead when Laban overtook him, and Laban and his relatives camped there as well.

²⁶拉班对雅各说：“你做的是什么事呢？你背着我偷走了，又把我的女儿们带了去，如同用刀剑掳去的一般。Then Laban said to Jacob, “What have you done? You have deceived me and carried off my daughters like captives of war!

²⁷你为什么暗暗地逃跑，偷着走，并不告诉我，叫我可以欢乐、唱歌、击鼓、弹琴地送你回去？Why did you run away secretly and deceive me, without even telling me? I would have sent you away with joy and singing, with tambourines and harps.

²⁸又不容我与外孙和女儿亲嘴？你所行的真是愚昧！But you did not even let me kiss my grandchildren and my daughters goodbye. Now you have done a foolish thing.

²⁹我手中原有能力害你，只是你父亲的　神昨夜对我说：‘你要小心，不可与雅各说好说歹。’I have power to do you great harm, but last night the God of your father said to me, ‘Be careful not to say anything to Jacob, either good or bad.’

³⁰现在你虽然想你父家，不得不去，为什么又偷了我的神像呢？”Now you have gone off because you long for your father’s house. But why have you stolen my gods?”

³¹雅各回答拉班说：“恐怕你把你的女儿从我夺去，所以我逃跑。“I was afraid,” Jacob answered, “for I thought you would take your daughters from me by force.

³²至于你的神像，你在谁那里搜出来，就不容谁存活。当着我们的众弟兄，你认一认，在我这里有什么东西是你的，就拿去。”原来雅各不知道拉结偷了那些神像。If you find your gods with anyone here, he shall not live! In the presence of our relatives, see for yourself if anything is yours, and take it back.” For Jacob did not know that Rachel had stolen the idols.

³³拉班进了雅各、利亚，并两个使女的帐棚，都没有搜出来，就从利亚的帐棚出来，进了拉结的帐棚。So Laban went into Jacob’s tent, then Leah’s tent, and then the tents of the two maidservants, but he found nothing. Then he left Leah’s tent and entered Rachel’s tent.

³⁴拉结已经把神像藏在骆驼的驮篓里，便坐在上头。拉班摸遍了那帐棚，并没有摸着。Now Rachel had taken Laban’s household idols, put them in the saddlebag of her camel, and was sitting on them. And Laban searched everything in the tent but found nothing.

³⁵拉结对她父亲说：“现在我身上不便，不能在你面前起来，求我主不要生气。”这样，拉班搜寻神像，竟没有搜出来。Rachel said to her father, “Sir, do not be angry that I cannot stand up before you; for I am having my period.” So Laban searched but could not find the household idols.

雅各斥责拉班

³⁶雅各就发怒斥责拉班说：“我有什么过犯，有什么罪恶，你竟这样火速地追我？Then Jacob became incensed and challenged Laban. “What is my crime?” he said. “For what sin of mine have you so hotly pursued me?

³⁷你摸遍了我一切的家具，你搜出什么来呢？可以放在你我弟兄面前，叫他们在你我中间辨别辨别。You have searched all my goods! Have you found anything that belongs to you? Put it here before my brothers and yours, that they may judge between the two of us.

³⁸我在你家这二十年，你的母绵羊、母山羊没有掉过胎。你群中的公羊，我没有吃过；I have been with you for twenty years now. Your sheep and goats have not miscarried, nor have I eaten the rams of your flock.

³⁹被野兽撕裂的，我没有带来给你，是我自己赔上。无论是白日，是黑夜，被偷去的，你都向我索要。I did not bring you anything torn by wild beasts; I bore the loss myself. And you demanded payment from me for what was stolen by day or night.

⁴⁰我白日受尽干热，黑夜受尽寒霜，不得合眼睡着，我常是这样。As it was, the heat consumed me by day and the frost by night, and sleep fled from my eyes.

⁴¹我这二十年在你家里，为你的两个女儿服事你十四年，为你的羊群服事你六年，你又十次改了我的工价。Thus for twenty years I have served in your household—fourteen years for your two daughters and six years for your flocks—and you have changed my wages ten times!

⁴²若不是我父亲以撒所敬畏的　神，就是亚伯拉罕的　神与我同在，你如今必定打发我空手而去。　神看见我的苦情和我的劳碌，就在昨夜责备你。”If the God of my father, the God of Abraham and the Fear of Isaac, had not been with me, surely by now you would have sent me away empty-handed. But God has seen my affliction and the toil of my hands, and last night He rendered judgment.”

立石堆为证

⁴³拉班回答雅各说：“这女儿是我的女儿，这些孩子是我的孩子，这些羊群也是我的羊群；凡在你眼前的都是我的。我的女儿并她们所生的孩子，我今日能向他们做什么呢？But Laban answered Jacob, “These daughters are my daughters, these sons are my sons, and these flocks are my flocks! Everything you see is mine! Yet what can I do today about these daughters of mine or the children they have borne?

⁴⁴来吧！你我二人可以立约，作你我中间的证据。”Come now, let us make a covenant, you and I, and let it serve as a witness between you and me.”

⁴⁵雅各就拿一块石头立作柱子，So Jacob picked out a stone and set it up as a pillar,

⁴⁶又对众弟兄说：“你们堆聚石头。”他们就拿石头来堆成一堆，大家便在旁边吃喝。and he said to his relatives, “Gather some stones.” So they took stones and made a mound, and there by the mound they ate.

⁴⁷拉班称那石堆为伊迦尔·撒哈杜他，雅各却称那石堆为迦累得（都是以石堆为证的意思）。Laban called it Jegar-sahadutha, and Jacob called it Galeed.

⁴⁸拉班说：“今日这石堆作你我中间的证据。”因此这地方名叫迦累得，Then Laban declared, “This mound is a witness between you and me this day.” Therefore the place was called Galeed.

⁴⁹又叫米斯巴，意思说：“我们彼此离别以后，愿耶和华在你我中间鉴察。It was also called Mizpah, because Laban said, “May the LORD keep watch between you and me when we are absent from each other.

⁵⁰你若苦待我的女儿，又在我的女儿以外另娶妻，虽没有人知道，却有　神在你我中间作见证。”If you mistreat my daughters or take other wives, although no one is with us, remember that God is a witness between you and me.”

⁵¹拉班又说：“你看我在你我中间所立的这石堆和柱子。Laban also said to Jacob, “Here is the mound, and here is the pillar I have set up between you and me.

⁵²这石堆作证据，这柱子也作证据。我必不过这石堆去害你；你也不可过这石堆和柱子来害我。This mound is a witness, and this pillar is a witness, that I will not go past this mound to harm you, and you will not go past this mound and pillar to harm me.

⁵³但愿亚伯拉罕的　神和拿鹤的　神，就是他们父亲的　神，在你我中间判断。”雅各就指着他父亲以撒所敬畏的　神起誓，May the God of Abraham and the God of Nahor, the God of their father, judge between us.” So Jacob swore by the Fear of his father Isaac.

⁵⁴又在山上献祭，请众弟兄来吃饭。他们吃了饭，便在山上住宿。Then Jacob offered a sacrifice on the mountain and invited his relatives to eat a meal. And after they had eaten, they spent the night on the mountain.

⁵⁵拉班清早起来，与他外孙和女儿亲嘴，给他们祝福，回往自己的地方去了。Early the next morning, Laban got up and kissed his grandchildren and daughters and blessed them. Then he left to return home.

如同羊进入狼群

¹⁶“我差你们去，如同羊进入狼群；所以你们要灵巧像蛇，驯良像鸽子。Behold, I am sending you out like sheep among wolves; therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves.

¹⁷你们要防备人；因为他们要把你们交给公会，也要在会堂里鞭打你们，But beware of men, for they will hand you over to their councils and flog you in their synagogues.

¹⁸并且你们要为我的缘故被送到诸侯君王面前，对他们和外邦人作见证。On My account you will be brought before governors and kings as witnesses to them and to the Gentiles.

¹⁹你们被交的时候，不要思虑怎样说话，或说什么话。到那时候，必赐给你们当说的话；But when they hand you over, do not worry about how to respond or what to say. In that hour you will be given what to say.

²⁰因为不是你们自己说的，乃是你们父的灵在你们里头说的。For it will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.

家人相害，为主的名被恨恶

²¹弟兄要把弟兄，父亲要把儿子，送到死地；儿女要与父母为敌，害死他们；Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; children will rise against their parents and have them put to death.

²²并且你们要为我的名被众人恨恶。惟有忍耐到底的必然得救。You will be hated by everyone because of My name, but the one who perseveres to the end will be saved.

²³有人在这城里逼迫你们，就逃到那城里去。我实在告诉你们，以色列的城邑，你们还没有走遍，人子就到了。When they persecute you in one town, flee to the next. Truly I tell you, you will not reach all the towns of Israel before the Son of Man comes.

学生不能高过先生

²⁴学生不能高过先生；仆人不能高过主人。A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master.

²⁵学生和先生一样，仆人和主人一样，也就罢了。人既骂家主是别西卜（别西卜：是鬼王的名），何况他的家人呢？”It is enough for a disciple to be like his teacher, and a servant like his master. If the head of the house has been called Beelzebul, how much more the members of his household!

不要怕他们

²⁶“所以，不要怕他们；因为掩盖的事没有不露出来的，隐藏的事没有不被人知道的。So do not be afraid of them. For there is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, and nothing hidden that will not be made known.

²⁷我在暗中告诉你们的，你们要在明处说出来；你们耳中所听的，要在房上宣扬出来。What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight; what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the housetops.

²⁸那杀身体、不能杀灵魂的，不要怕他们；惟有能把身体和灵魂都灭在地狱里的，正要怕他。Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Instead, fear the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

²⁹两个麻雀不是卖一分银子吗？若是你们的父不许，一个也不能掉在地上；Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father.

³⁰就是你们的头发也都被数过了。And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.

³¹所以，不要惧怕，你们比许多麻雀还贵重！”So do not be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

在人面前认主

³²“凡在人面前认我的，我在我天上的父面前也必认他；Therefore everyone who confesses Me before men, I will also confess him before My Father in heaven.

³³凡在人面前不认我的，我在我天上的父面前也必不认他。”But whoever denies Me before men, I will also deny him before My Father in heaven.

不是叫地上太平

³⁴“你们不要想我来是叫地上太平；我来并不是叫地上太平，乃是叫地上动刀兵。Do not assume that I have come to bring peace to the earth; I have not come to bring peace, but a sword.

³⁵因为我来是叫人与父亲生疏，女儿与母亲生疏，媳妇与婆婆生疏。For I have come to turn ‘a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.

³⁶人的仇敌就是自己家里的人。A man’s enemies will be the members of his own household.’

背起十字架跟从主

³⁷“爱父母过于爱我的，不配作我的门徒；爱儿女过于爱我的，不配作我的门徒；Anyone who loves his father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; anyone who loves his son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me;

³⁸不背着他的十字架跟从我的，也不配作我的门徒。and anyone who does not take up his cross and follow Me is not worthy of Me.

³⁹得着生命的，将要失丧生命；为我失丧生命的，将要得着生命。”Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.

接待门徒必得赏赐

⁴⁰“人接待你们就是接待我；接待我就是接待那差我来的。He who receives you receives Me, and he who receives Me receives the One who sent Me.

⁴¹人因为先知的名接待先知，必得先知所得的赏赐；人因为义人的名接待义人，必得义人所得的赏赐。Whoever receives a prophet because he is a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward, and whoever receives a righteous man because he is a righteous man will receive a righteous man’s reward.

⁴²无论何人，因为门徒的名，只把一杯凉水给这小子里的一个喝，我实在告诉你们，这人不能不得赏赐。”And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is My disciple, truly I tell you, he will never lose his reward.”

往各城去传道

¹耶稣吩咐完了十二个门徒，就离开那里，往各城去传道、教训人。After Jesus had finished instructing His twelve disciples, He went on from there to teach and preach in their cities.
