1眾人都起來，把耶穌面前，Then the whole council rose and led Jesus away to Pilate.
2就告他說：「我們見這人，禁止納稅給凱撒，並說自己是，是王。」And they began to accuse Him, saying, “We found this man subverting our nation, forbidding payment of taxes to Caesar, and proclaiming Himself to be Christ, a King.”
3彼拉多問耶穌說：「你是猶太人的王嗎？」耶穌回答說：「你說的是。」So Pilate asked Him, “Are You the King of the Jews?” “You have said so,” Jesus replied.
4彼拉多對祭司長和眾人說：「我查不出這人有甚麼罪來。」Then Pilate said to the chief priests and the crowds, “I find no basis for a charge against this man.”
5但他們越發極力地說：「他百姓，在猶太遍地傳道，從加利利起，直到這裡了。」But they kept insisting, “He stirs up the people all over Judea with His teaching. He began in Galilee and has come all the way here.”
6彼拉多一聽見，就問：「這人是加利利人嗎？」When Pilate heard this, he asked if the man was a Galilean.
7既曉得耶穌屬所管，就把他送到希律那裡去。那時希律正在耶路撒冷。And learning that Jesus was under Herod’s jurisdiction, he sent Him to Herod, who himself was in Jerusalem at that time.
8希律看見耶穌，就很歡喜；因為聽見過他的事，久已想要見他，並且指望看他行一件神蹟，When Herod saw Jesus, he was greatly pleased. He had wanted to see Him for a long time, because he had heard about Him and was hoping to see Him perform a miracle.
9於是問他許多的話，耶穌卻一言不答。Herod questioned Jesus at great length, but He gave no answer.
10祭司長和文士都站著，極力地告他。Meanwhile, the chief priests and scribes stood there, vehemently accusing Him.
11希律和他的兵丁就藐視耶穌，戲弄他，給他穿上，把他送回彼拉多那裡去。And even Herod and his soldiers ridiculed and mocked Him. Dressing Him in a fine robe, they sent Him back to Pilate.
12從前希律和彼拉多，在那一天就成了朋友。That day Herod and Pilate became friends; before this time they had been enemies.
13彼拉多傳齊了祭司長和官府並百姓，Then Pilate called together the chief priests, the rulers, and the people,
14就對他們說：「你們解這人到我這裡，說他是誘惑百姓的。看哪，我也曾將你們告他的事，在你們面前審問他，並沒有查出他甚麼罪來；and said to them, “You brought me this man as one who was inciting the people to rebellion. I have examined Him here in your presence and found Him not guilty of your charges against Him.
15就是希律也是如此，所以把他送回來。可見他沒有做甚麼該死的事。Neither has Herod, for he sent Him back to us. As you can see, He has done nothing deserving of death.
16故此，我要他，把他釋放了。」（有古卷加：Therefore I will punish Him and release Him.”
17每逢這節期，巡撫必須釋放一個囚犯給他們。）（BSB 英譯本沒有這一節）
18眾人卻一齊喊著說：「除掉這個人！釋放給我們！」But they all cried out in unison: “Away with this man! Release Barabbas to us!”
19這巴拉巴是因在城裡作亂殺人，下在監裡的。(Barabbas had been imprisoned for an insurrection in the city, and for murder.)
20彼拉多願意釋放耶穌，就又勸解他們。Wanting to release Jesus, Pilate addressed them again,
21無奈他們喊著說：「！釘他十字架！」but they kept shouting, “Crucify Him! Crucify Him!”
22彼拉多第三次對他們說：「為甚麼呢？這人做了甚麼惡事呢？我並沒有查出他甚麼該死的罪來。所以，我要責打他，把他釋放了。」A third time he said to them, “What evil has this man done? I have found in Him no offense worthy of death. So after I punish Him, I will release Him.”
23他們大聲彼拉多，求他把耶穌釘在十字架上。他們的聲音就得了勝。But they were insistent, demanding with loud voices for Jesus to be crucified. And their clamor prevailed.
24彼拉多這才照他們所求的，So Pilate sentenced that their demand be met.
25把他們所求的那作亂殺人、下在監裡的釋放了，把耶穌交給他們，任憑他們的意思行。As they had requested, he released the one imprisoned for insurrection and murder, and he handed Jesus over to their will.
26帶耶穌去的時候，有一個人西門，從鄉下來；他們就抓住他，把十字架擱在他身上，叫他背著跟隨耶穌。As the soldiers led Him away, they seized Simon of Cyrene on his way in from the country, and they put the cross on him to carry behind Jesus.
27有許多百姓跟隨耶穌，內中有好些婦女；婦女們為他痛哭。A great number of people followed Him, including women who kept mourning and wailing for Him.
28耶穌轉身對她們說：「耶路撒冷的女子，不要為我哭，當為自己和自己的兒女哭。But Jesus turned to them and said, “Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for Me, but weep for yourselves and for your children.
29因為日子要到，人必說：『不生育的，和未曾懷胎的，未曾乳養嬰孩的，有福了！』Look, the days are coming when people will say, ‘Blessed are the barren women, the wombs that never bore, and breasts that never nursed!’
30那時，人要向大山說：倒在我們身上！向小山說：遮蓋我們！At that time ‘they will say to the mountains, “Fall on us!” and to the hills, “Cover us!”’
31「這些事既行在上，那枯乾的樹將來怎麼樣呢？」For if men do these things while the tree is green, what will happen when it is dry?”
32又有兩個犯人，和耶穌一同帶來處死。Two others, who were criminals, were also led away to be executed with Jesus.
33到了一個地方，名叫「」，就在那裡把耶穌釘在十字架上，又釘了兩個犯人：一個在左邊，一個在右邊。When they came to the place called The Skull, they crucified Him there, along with the criminals, one on His right and the other on His left.
34當下耶穌說：「父啊！赦免他們；因為他們所做的，他們不曉得。」兵丁就分他的衣服。Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” And they divided up His garments by casting lots.
35百姓站在那裡觀看。官府也他，說：「他救了別人；他若是基督， 神所揀選的，可以救自己吧！」The people stood watching, and the rulers sneered at Him, saying, “He saved others; let Him save Himself if He is the Christ of God, the Chosen One.”
36兵丁也戲弄他，上前拿送給他喝，The soldiers also mocked Him and came up to offer Him sour wine.
37說：「你若是猶太人的王，可以救自己吧！」“If You are the King of the Jews,” they said, “save Yourself!”
38在耶穌以上有一個（有古卷加：用希臘、羅馬、希伯來的文字）寫著：「這是猶太人的王。」Above Him was posted an inscription: THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
39那同釘的兩個犯人有一個譏笑他，說：「你不是基督嗎？可以救自己和我們吧！」One of the criminals who hung there heaped abuse on Him. “Are You not the Christ?” he said. “Save Yourself and us!”
40那一個就應聲責備他，說：「你既是一樣受刑的，還不怕 神嗎？But the other one rebuked him, saying, “Do you not even fear God, since you are under the same judgment?
41我們是應該的，因我們所受的與我們所做的相稱，但這個人沒有做過一件不好的事。」We are punished justly, for we are receiving what our actions deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong.”
42就說：「耶穌啊，你得國降臨的時候，求你記念我！」Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when You come into Your kingdom!”
43耶穌對他說：「我實在告訴你，今日你要同我在裡了。」And Jesus said to him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.”
44那時約有，遍地都黑暗了，直到申初，It was now about the sixth hour, and darkness came over all the land until the ninth hour.
45日頭變黑了；從當中裂為兩半。The sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was torn down the middle.
46耶穌大聲喊著說：「父啊！我將我的靈魂交在你手裡。」說了這話，。Then Jesus called out in a loud voice, “Father, into Your hands I commit My Spirit.” And when He had said this, He breathed His last.
47看見所成的事，就歸榮耀與 神，說：「這真是個義人！」When the centurion saw what had happened, he gave glory to God, saying, “Surely this was a righteous man.”
48聚集觀看的眾人見了這所成的事都捶著胸回去了。And when all the people who had gathered for this spectacle saw what had happened, they returned home beating their breasts.
49還有一切與耶穌熟識的人，和從加利利跟著他來的婦女們，都遠遠地站著看這些事。But all those who knew Jesus, including the women who had followed Him from Galilee, stood at a distance watching these things.
50有一個人名叫約瑟，是個議士，為人善良公義；Now there was a Council member named Joseph, a good and righteous man,
51眾人所謀所為，他並沒有附從。他本是猶太、亞利馬太城裡素常盼望 神國的人。who had not consented to their decision or action. He was from the Judean town of Arimathea and was waiting for the kingdom of God.
52這人去見彼拉多，求耶穌的身體，He went to Pilate to ask for the body of Jesus.
53就取下來，用裹好，安放在石頭鑿成的墳墓裡；那裡頭從來沒有葬過人。Then he took it down, wrapped it in a linen cloth, and placed it in a tomb cut into the rock, where no one had yet been laid.
54那日是，安息日也快到了。It was Preparation Day, and the Sabbath was beginning.
55那些從加利利和耶穌同來的婦女跟在後面，看見了墳墓和他的身體怎樣安放。The women who had come with Jesus from Galilee followed, and they saw the tomb and how His body was placed.
56她們就回去，預備了。她們在安息日，便遵著誡命安息了。Then they returned to prepare spices and perfumes. And they rested on the Sabbath, according to the commandment.
