1「你要愛耶和華─你的 神，常守他的吩咐、律例、典章、誡命。You shall therefore love the LORD your God and always keep His charge, His statutes, His ordinances, and His commandments.
2你們今日當知道，我本不是和你們的兒女說話；因為他們不知道，也沒有看見耶和華─你們 神的管教、威嚴、大能的手，和伸出來的膀臂，Know this day that it is not your children who have known and seen the discipline of the LORD your God: His greatness, His mighty hand, and His outstretched arm;
3並他在埃及中向埃及王法老和其全地所行的神蹟奇事；the signs and works He did in Egypt to Pharaoh king of Egypt and all his land;
4也沒有看見他怎樣待埃及的軍兵、車馬，他們追趕你們的時候，耶和華怎樣使紅海的水淹沒他們，將他們滅絕，直到今日，what He did to the Egyptian army and horses and chariots when He made the waters of the Red Sea engulf them as they pursued you, and how He destroyed them completely, even to this day;
5並他在曠野怎樣待你們，以致你們來到這地方；what He did for you in the wilderness until you reached this place;
6也沒有看見他怎樣待流便子孫以利押的兒子、亞比蘭，地怎樣在以色列人中間開口，吞了他們和他們的家眷，並帳棚與跟他們的一切活物。and what He did in the midst of all the Israelites to Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab the Reubenite, when the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them, their households, their tents, and every living thing that belonged to them.
7惟有你們親眼看見耶和華所做的一切大事。」For it is your own eyes that have seen every great work that the LORD has done.
8「所以，你們要守我今日所吩咐的一切誡命，使你們膽壯，能以進去，得你們所要得的那地，You shall therefore keep every commandment I am giving you today, so that you may have the strength to go in and possess the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess,
9並使你們的日子在耶和華向你們列祖起誓、應許給他們和他們後裔的地上得以長久；那是流奶與蜜之地。and so that you may live long in the land that the LORD swore to your fathers to give them and their descendants, a land flowing with milk and honey.
10你要進去得為業的那地，本不像你出來的埃及地。你在那裡撒種，，像澆灌菜園一樣。For the land that you are entering to possess is not like the land of Egypt, from which you have come, where you sowed your seed and irrigated on foot, like a vegetable garden.
11你們要過去得為業的那地乃是有山有谷、之地，But the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess is a land of mountains and valleys that drinks in the rain from heaven.
12是耶和華─你 神所眷顧的；從到年終，耶和華─你 神的眼目時常看顧那地。It is a land for which the LORD your God cares; the eyes of the LORD your God are always on it, from the beginning to the end of the year.
13「你們若留意聽從我今日所吩咐的誡命，愛耶和華─你們的 神，盡心盡性事奉他，So if you carefully obey the commandments I am giving you today, to love the LORD your God and to serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul,
14他（原文是我）必按時降在你們的地上，使你們可以收藏五穀、新酒，和油，then I will provide rain for your land in season, the autumn and spring rains, that you may gather your grain, new wine, and oil.
15也必使你吃得飽足，並使田野為你的牲畜長草。And I will provide grass in the fields for your livestock, and you will eat and be satisfied.
16你們要謹慎，免得心中，就偏離正路，去事奉敬拜別神。But be careful that you are not enticed to turn aside to worship and bow down to other gods,
17耶和華的怒氣向你們發作，就使天不下雨，地也不出產，使你們在耶和華所賜給你們的美地上速速滅亡。or the anger of the LORD will be kindled against you. He will shut the heavens so that there will be no rain, nor will the land yield its produce, and you will soon perish from the good land that the LORD is giving you.
18「你們要將我這話存在心內，留在意中，繫在手上為記號，戴在額上為經文；Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as reminders on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.
19也要教訓你們的兒女，無論坐在家裡，行在路上，躺下，起來，都要談論；Teach them to your children, speaking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
20又要寫在房屋的門框上，並城門上，Write them on the doorposts of your houses and on your gates,
21使你們和你們子孫的日子在耶和華向你們列祖起誓、應許給他們的地上得以增多，的日子那樣多。so that as long as the heavens are above the earth, your days and those of your children may be multiplied in the land that the LORD swore to give your fathers.
22你們若留意謹守遵行我所吩咐這一切的誡命，愛耶和華─你們的 神，行他的道，專靠他，For if you carefully keep all these commandments I am giving you to follow—to love the LORD your God, to walk in all His ways, and to hold fast to Him—
23他必從你們面前趕出這一切國民，就是比你們更大更強的國民，你們也要得他們的地。then the LORD will drive out all these nations before you, and you will dispossess nations greater and stronger than you.
24凡你們腳掌所踏之地都必歸你們；從曠野和黎巴嫩，並幼發拉底大河，直到，都要作你們的境界。Every place where the sole of your foot treads will be yours. Your territory will extend from the wilderness to Lebanon, and from the Euphrates River to the Western Sea.
25必無一人能在你們面前站立得住；耶和華─你們的 神必照他所說的，使懼怕驚恐臨到你們所踏之地的居民。No man will be able to stand against you; the LORD your God will put the fear and dread of you upon all the land, wherever you set foot, as He has promised you.
26「看哪，我今日將祝福與咒詛的話都陳明在你們面前。See, today I am setting before you a blessing and a curse—
27你們若聽從耶和華─你們 神的誡命，就是我今日所吩咐你們的，就必蒙福。a blessing if you obey the commandments of the LORD your God that I am giving you today,
28你們若不聽從耶和華─你們 神的誡命，偏離我今日所吩咐你們的道，去事奉你們素來所不認識的別神，就必受禍。but a curse if you disobey the commandments of the LORD your God and turn aside from the path I command you today by following other gods, which you have not known.
29及至耶和華─你的 神領你進入要去得為業的那地，你就要將祝福的話陳明在山上，將咒詛的話陳明在以巴路山上。When the LORD your God brings you into the land you are entering to possess, you are to proclaim the blessing on Mount Gerizim and the curse on Mount Ebal.
30這二山豈不是在約旦河那邊，日落之處，在住亞拉巴的迦南人之地與吉甲相對，靠近嗎？Are not these mountains across the Jordan, west of the road toward the sunset, in the land of the Canaanites who live in the Arabah opposite Gilgal near the Oak of Moreh?
31你們要過約旦河，進去得耶和華─你們 神所賜你們為業之地，在那地居住。For you are about to cross the Jordan to enter and possess the land that the LORD your God is giving you. When you take possession of it and settle in it,
32你們要謹守遵行我今日在你們面前所陳明的一切律例典章。」be careful to follow all the statutes and ordinances that I am setting before you today.
