1弟兄們，論到，不用寫信給你們，Now about the times and seasons, brothers, we do not need to write to you.
2因為你們自己明明曉得，來到，好像夜間的賊一樣。For you are fully aware that the Day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.
3人正說「」的時候，災禍忽然臨到他們，如同臨到懷胎的婦人一樣，他們絕不能逃脫。While people are saying, “Peace and security,” destruction will come upon them suddenly, like labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.
4弟兄們，你們卻不在黑暗裡，叫那日子臨到你們像賊一樣。But you, brothers, are not in the darkness so that this day should overtake you like a thief.
5你們都是光明之子，都是白晝之子。我們不是屬黑夜的，也不是屬幽暗的。For you are all sons of the light and sons of the day; we do not belong to the night or to the darkness.
6所以，我們不要睡覺像別人一樣，總要警醒。So then, let us not sleep as the others do, but let us remain awake and sober.
7因為睡了的人是在夜間睡，醉了的人是在夜間醉。For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, get drunk at night.
8但我們既然屬乎白晝，就應當謹守，把信和愛當作遮胸，把得救的盼望當作頭盔戴上。But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and the helmet of our hope of salvation.
9因為 神不是預定我們，乃是預定我們藉著我們主耶穌基督得救。For God has not appointed us to suffer wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.
10他替我們死，叫我們無論醒著，睡著，都與他同活。He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with Him.
11所以，你們該彼此勸慰，互相建立，正如你們素常所行的。Therefore encourage and build one another up, just as you are already doing.
12弟兄們，我們勸你們敬重那在你們中間勞苦的人，就是在主裡面治理你們、勸戒你們的；But we ask you, brothers, to acknowledge those who work diligently among you, who care for you in the Lord and who admonish you.
13又因他們所做的工，用愛心格外尊重他們。你們也要彼此和睦。In love, hold them in highest regard because of their work. Live in peace with one another.
14我們又勸弟兄們，要警戒的人，勉勵的人，扶助軟弱的人，也要向眾人忍耐。And we urge you, brothers, to admonish the unruly, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, and be patient with everyone.
15你們要謹慎，無論是誰都不可以惡報惡；或是彼此相待，或是待眾人，常要追求良善。Make sure that no one repays evil for evil. Always pursue what is good for one another and for all people.
16要常常喜樂，Rejoice at all times.
17不住地禱告，Pray without ceasing.
18凡事謝恩；因為這是 神在基督耶穌裡向你們所定的旨意。Give thanks in every circumstance, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
19不要聖靈的感動；Do not extinguish the Spirit.
20不要藐視。Do not treat prophecies with contempt,
21但要凡事察驗；善美的要持守，but test all things. Hold fast to what is good.
22各樣的惡事要不做。Abstain from every form of evil.
23願賜平安的 神親自使你們全然成聖！又願你們的得蒙保守，在我們主耶穌基督降臨的時候，完全無可指摘！Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely, and may your entire spirit, soul, and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
24那召你們的本是信實的，他必成就這事。The One who calls you is faithful, and He will do it.
25請弟兄們為我們禱告。Brothers, pray for us as well.
26與眾弟兄，務要聖潔。Greet all the brothers with a holy kiss.
27我指著主囑咐你們，要把這信念給眾弟兄聽。I charge you before the Lord to have this letter read to all the brothers.
28願我主耶穌基督的恩常與你們同在！The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
