2我們為你們眾人常常感謝 神，禱告的時候提到你們，We always thank God for all of you, remembering you in our prayers
3在 神─我們的父面前，不住地記念你們因信心所做的，因愛心所受的勞苦，因盼望我們主耶穌基督所存的。and continually recalling before our God and Father your work of faith, your labor of love, and your enduring hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.
4被 神所愛的弟兄啊，我知道你們是蒙揀選的；Brothers who are beloved by God, we know that He has chosen you,
5因為我們的福音傳到你們那裡，不獨在乎言語，也在乎和聖靈，並充足的信心。正如你們知道，我們在你們那裡，為你們的緣故是怎樣為人。because our gospel came to you not only in word, but also in power, in the Holy Spirit, and with great conviction—just as you know we lived among you for your sake.
6並且你們在之中，蒙了聖靈所賜的喜樂，領受真道就我們，也效法了主；And you became imitators of us and of the Lord when you welcomed the message with the joy of the Holy Spirit, in spite of your great suffering.
7甚至你們作了和亞該亞所有信主之人的榜樣。As a result, you have become an example to all the believers in Macedonia and Achaia.
8因為主的道從你們那裡已經出來。你們向 神的信心不但在馬其頓和亞該亞，就是在各處也都傳開了，所以不用我們說甚麼話。For not only did the message of the Lord ring out from you to Macedonia and Achaia, but your faith in God has gone out to every place, so that we have no need to say anything more.
9因為他們自己已經我們是怎樣進到你們那裡，你們是怎樣離棄，歸向 神，要服事那又真又活的 神，For they themselves report what kind of welcome you gave us, and how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God
10等候他兒子從天降臨，就是他從死裡復活的─那位救我們脫離的耶穌。and to await His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead—Jesus our deliverer from the coming wrath.
