安慰哈嫩反遭羞辱

¹此後，亞捫人的王拿轄死了，他兒子接續他作王。Some time later, Nahash king of the Ammonites died and was succeeded by his son.

²大衛說：「我要照哈嫩的父親拿轄厚待我的恩典厚待哈嫩。」於是大衛差遣使者為他喪父安慰他。大衛的臣僕到了亞捫人的境內見哈嫩，要安慰他，And David said, “I will show kindness to Hanun son of Nahash, because his father showed kindness to me.” So David sent messengers to console Hanun concerning his father. But when David’s servants arrived in the land of the Ammonites to console him,

³但亞捫人的首領對哈嫩說：「大衛差人來安慰你，你想他是尊敬你父親嗎？他的臣僕來見你不是為詳察窺探、傾覆這地嗎？」the princes of the Ammonites said to Hanun, “Just because David has sent you comforters, do you really believe he is showing respect for your father? Have not his servants come to you to explore the land, spy it out, and overthrow it?”

⁴哈嫩便將大衛臣僕的鬍鬚剃去一半，又割斷他們下半截的衣服，使他們露出下體，打發他們回去。So Hanun took David’s servants, shaved their beards, cut off their garments at the hips, and sent them away.

⁵有人將臣僕所遇的事告訴大衛，他就差人去迎接他們，因為他們甚覺羞恥；告訴他們說：「可以住在耶利哥，等到鬍鬚長起再回來。」When someone came and told David about his men, he sent messengers to meet them, since the men had been thoroughly humiliated. The king told them, “Stay in Jericho until your beards have grown back, and then return.”

亞捫人雇來亞蘭聯軍

⁶亞捫人知道大衛憎惡他們，哈嫩和亞捫人就打發人拿一千他連得銀子，從美索不達米亞、亞蘭瑪迦、瑣巴雇戰車和馬兵，When the Ammonites realized that they had become a stench to David, Hanun and the Ammonites sent a thousand talents of silver to hire for themselves chariots and horsemen from Aram-naharaim, Aram-maacah, and Zobah.

⁷於是雇了三萬二千輛戰車和瑪迦王並他的軍兵；他們來安營在米底巴前。亞捫人也從他們的城裡出來，聚集交戰。So they hired for themselves thirty-two thousand chariots, as well as the king of Maacah with his troops, who came and camped near Medeba while the Ammonites were mustered from their cities and marched out for battle.

⁸大衛聽見了，就差派約押統帶勇猛的全軍出去。On hearing this, David sent Joab and the entire army of mighty men.

⁹亞捫人出來在城門前擺陣，所來的諸王另在郊野擺陣。The Ammonites marched out and arrayed themselves for battle at the entrance to the city, while the kings who had come stayed by themselves in the open country.

約押和亞比篩分兵迎戰

¹⁰約押看見敵人在他前後擺陣，就從以色列軍中挑選精兵，使他們對著亞蘭人擺陣；When Joab saw the battle lines before him and behind him, he selected some of the best men of Israel and arrayed them against the Arameans.

¹¹其餘的兵交與他兄弟亞比篩，對著亞捫人擺陣。And he placed the rest of the troops under the command of his brother Abishai, who arrayed them against the Ammonites.

¹²約押對亞比篩說：「亞蘭人若強過我，你就來幫助我；亞捫人若強過你，我就去幫助你。“If the Arameans are too strong for me,” said Joab, “then you will come to my rescue. And if the Ammonites are too strong for you, then I will come to your rescue.

¹³我們都當剛強，為本國的民和　神的城邑作大丈夫，願耶和華憑他的意旨而行。」Be strong and let us fight bravely for our people and for the cities of our God. May the LORD do what is good in His sight.”

¹⁴於是約押和跟隨他的人前進攻打亞蘭人；亞蘭人在約押面前逃跑。So Joab and his troops advanced to fight the Arameans, who fled before him.

¹⁵亞捫人見亞蘭人逃跑，他們也在約押的兄弟亞比篩面前逃跑進城。約押就回耶路撒冷去了。When the Ammonites saw that the Arameans had fled, they too fled before Joab’s brother Abishai, and they entered the city. So Joab went back to Jerusalem.

大衛擊敗亞蘭大軍

¹⁶亞蘭人見自己被以色列人打敗，就打發使者將大河那邊的亞蘭人調來，哈大利謝的將軍朔法率領他們。When the Arameans saw that they had been defeated by Israel, they sent messengers to bring more Arameans from beyond the Euphrates, with Shophach the commander of Hadadezer’s army leading them.

¹⁷有人告訴大衛，他就聚集以色列眾人過約旦河，來到亞蘭人那裡，迎著他們擺陣。大衛既擺陣攻擊亞蘭人，亞蘭人就與他打仗。When this was reported to David, he gathered all Israel, crossed the Jordan, advanced toward the Arameans, and arrayed for battle against them. When David lined up to engage them in battle, they fought against him.

¹⁸亞蘭人在以色列人面前逃跑。大衛殺了亞蘭七千輛戰車的人，四萬步兵，又殺了亞蘭的將軍朔法。But the Arameans fled before Israel, and David killed seven thousand of their charioteers and forty thousand foot soldiers. He also killed Shophach the commander of their army.

¹⁹屬哈大利謝的諸王見自己被以色列人打敗，就與大衛和好，歸服他。於是亞蘭人不敢再幫助亞捫人了。When Hadadezer’s subjects saw that they had been defeated by Israel, they made peace with David and became subject to him. So the Arameans were unwilling to help the Ammonites anymore.

攻取拉巴

¹過了一年，到列王出戰的時候，約押率領軍兵毀壞亞捫人的地，圍攻拉巴；大衛仍住在耶路撒冷。約押攻打拉巴，將城傾覆。In the spring, at the time when kings march out to war, Joab led out the army and ravaged the land of the Ammonites. He came to Rabbah and besieged it, but David remained in Jerusalem. And Joab attacked Rabbah and demolished it.

³將城裡的人拉出來，放在鋸下，或鐵耙下，或鐵斧下（或譯：強他們用鋸，或用打糧食的鐵器，或用鐵斧做工），大衛待亞捫各城的居民都是如此。其後大衛和眾軍都回耶路撒冷去了。David brought out the people who were there and put them to work with saws, iron picks, and axes. And he did the same to all the Ammonite cities. Then David and all his troops returned to Jerusalem.

擊殺迦特的偉人

⁴後來，以色列人在基色與非利士人打仗。戶沙人西比該殺了偉人的一個兒子細派，非利士人就被制伏了。Some time later, war broke out with the Philistines at Gezer. At that time Sibbecai the Hushathite killed Sippai, a descendant of the Rephaim, and the Philistines were subdued.

⁵又與非利士人打仗。睚珥的兒子伊勒哈難殺了迦特人歌利亞的兄弟拉哈米；這人的槍桿粗如織布的機軸。Once again there was a battle with the Philistines, and Elhanan son of Jair killed Lahmi the brother of Goliath the Gittite, the shaft of whose spear was like a weaver’s beam.

⁶又在迦特打仗。那裡有一個身量高大的人，手腳都是六指，共有二十四個指頭，他也是偉人的兒子。And there was also a battle at Gath, where there was a man of great stature with six fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot—twenty-four in all. He too was descended from Rapha,

⁷這人向以色列人罵陣，大衛的哥哥示米亞的兒子約拿單就殺了他。and when he taunted Israel, Jonathan the son of David’s brother Shimei killed him.

⁸這三個人是迦特偉人的兒子，都死在大衛和他僕人的手下。So these descendants of Rapha in Gath fell at the hands of David and his servants.

撒但激動大衛數點百姓

¹撒但起來攻擊以色列人，激動大衛數點他們。Then Satan rose up against Israel and incited David to take a census of Israel.

²大衛就吩咐約押和民中的首領說：「你們去數點以色列人，從別是巴直到但，回來告訴我，我好知道他們的數目。」So David said to Joab and the commanders of the troops, “Go and count the Israelites from Beersheba to Dan and bring me a report, so that I may know their number.”

³約押說：「願耶和華使他的百姓比現在加增百倍。我主我王啊，他們不都是你的僕人嗎？我主為何吩咐行這事，為何使以色列人陷在罪裡呢？」But Joab replied, “May the LORD multiply His troops a hundred times over. My lord the king, are they not all servants of my lord? Why does my lord want to do this? Why should he bring guilt on Israel?”

⁴但王的命令勝過約押。約押就出去，走遍以色列地，回到耶路撒冷，Nevertheless, the king’s word prevailed against Joab. So Joab departed and traveled throughout Israel, and then he returned to Jerusalem.

⁵將百姓的總數奏告大衛：以色列人拿刀的有一百一十萬；猶大人拿刀的有四十七萬。And Joab reported to David the total number of the troops. In all Israel there were 1,100,000 men who drew the sword, including 470,000 in Judah.

⁶惟有利未人和便雅憫人沒有數在其中，因為約押厭惡王的這命令。But Joab did not include Levi and Benjamin in the count, because the king’s command was detestable to him.

神降災，大衛認罪

⁷神不喜悅這數點百姓的事，便降災給以色列人。This command was also evil in the sight of God; so He struck Israel.

⁸大衛禱告　神說：「我行這事大有罪了！現在求你除掉僕人的罪孽，因我所行的甚是愚昧。」Then David said to God, “I have sinned greatly because I have done this thing. Now I beg You to take away the iniquity of Your servant, for I have acted very foolishly.”

三樣災任選一樣

⁹耶和華吩咐大衛的先見迦得說：And the LORD instructed Gad, David’s seer,

¹⁰「你去告訴大衛說，耶和華如此說：我有三樣災，隨你選擇一樣，我好降與你。」“Go and tell David that this is what the LORD says: ‘I am offering you three options. Choose one of them, and I will carry it out against you.’”

¹¹於是，迦得來見大衛，對他說：「耶和華如此說：『你可以隨意選擇：So Gad went and said to David, “This is what the LORD says: ‘You must choose

¹²或三年的饑荒；或敗在你敵人面前，被敵人的刀追殺三個月；或在你國中有耶和華的刀，就是三日的瘟疫，耶和華的使者在以色列的四境施行毀滅。』現在你要想一想，我好回覆那差我來的。」between three years of famine, three months of being swept away before your enemies and overtaken by their swords, or three days of the sword of the LORD—days of plague upon the land, with the angel of the LORD ravaging every part of Israel.’ Now then, decide how I should reply to Him who sent me.”

¹³大衛對迦得說：「我甚為難。我願落在耶和華的手裡，因為他有豐盛的憐憫；我不願落在人的手裡。」David answered Gad, “I am deeply distressed. Please, let me fall into the hand of the LORD, for His mercies are very great; but do not let me fall into the hands of men.”

瘟疫臨到，使者停在禾場

¹⁴於是，耶和華降瘟疫與以色列人，以色列人就死了七萬。So the LORD sent a plague upon Israel, and seventy thousand men of Israel fell dead.

¹⁵神差遣使者去滅耶路撒冷，剛要滅的時候，耶和華看見後悔，就不降這災了，吩咐滅城的天使說：「夠了，住手吧！」那時，耶和華的使者站在耶布斯人阿珥楠的禾場那裡。Then God sent an angel to destroy Jerusalem, but as the angel was doing so, the LORD saw it and relented from the calamity, and He said to the angel who was destroying the people, “Enough! Withdraw your hand now!” At that time the angel of the LORD was standing by the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.

¹⁶大衛舉目，看見耶和華的使者站在天地間，手裡有拔出來的刀，伸在耶路撒冷以上。大衛和長老都身穿麻衣，面伏於地。When David lifted up his eyes and saw the angel of the LORD standing between heaven and earth, with a drawn sword in his hand stretched out over Jerusalem, David and the elders, clothed in sackcloth, fell facedown.

¹⁷大衛禱告　神說：「吩咐數點百姓的不是我嗎？我犯了罪，行了惡，但這群羊做了甚麼呢？願耶和華─我　神的手攻擊我和我的父家，不要攻擊你的民，降瘟疫與他們。」And David said to God, “Was it not I who gave the order to count the people? I am the one who has sinned and acted wickedly. But these sheep, what have they done? O LORD my God, please let Your hand fall upon me and my father’s house, but do not let this plague remain upon Your people.”

在阿珥楠的禾場築壇

¹⁸耶和華的使者吩咐迦得去告訴大衛，叫他上去，在耶布斯人阿珥楠的禾場上為耶和華築一座壇；Then the angel of the LORD ordered Gad to tell David to go up and build an altar to the LORD on the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.

¹⁹大衛就照著迦得奉耶和華名所說的話上去了。So David went up at the word that Gad had spoken in the name of the LORD.

²⁰那時阿珥楠正打麥子，回頭看見天使，就和他四個兒子都藏起來了。Now Ornan was threshing wheat when he turned and saw the angel; and his four sons who were with him hid themselves.

²¹大衛到了阿珥楠那裡，阿珥楠看見大衛，就從禾場上出去，臉伏於地，向他下拜。David came to Ornan, and when Ornan looked out and saw David, he left the threshing floor and bowed facedown before David.

²²大衛對阿珥楠說：「你將這禾場與相連之地賣給我，我必給你足價，我好在其上為耶和華築一座壇，使民間的瘟疫止住。」Then David said to Ornan, “Grant me the site of this threshing floor, that I may build an altar to the LORD. Sell it to me for the full price, so that the plague upon the people may be halted.”

²³阿珥楠對大衛說：「你可以用這禾場，願我主我王照你所喜悅的去行。我也將牛給你作燔祭，把打糧的器具當柴燒，拿麥子作素祭。這些我都送給你。」Ornan said to David, “Take it! May my lord the king do whatever seems good to him. Look, I will give the oxen for the burnt offerings, the threshing sledges for the wood, and the wheat for the grain offering—I will give it all.”

²⁴大衛王對阿珥楠說：「不然！我必要用足價向你買。我不用你的物獻給耶和華，也不用白得之物獻為燔祭。」“No,” replied King David, “I insist on paying the full price, for I will not take for the LORD what belongs to you, nor will I offer burnt offerings that cost me nothing.”

²⁵於是大衛為那塊地平了六百舍客勒金子給阿珥楠。So David paid Ornan six hundred shekels of gold for the site.

²⁶大衛在那裡為耶和華築了一座壇，獻燔祭和平安祭，求告耶和華。耶和華就應允他，使火從天降在燔祭壇上。And there he built an altar to the LORD and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. He called upon the LORD, who answered him with fire from heaven on the altar of burnt offering.

²⁷耶和華吩咐使者，他就收刀入鞘。Then the LORD spoke to the angel, who put his sword back into its sheath.

就在禾場上獻祭

²⁸那時，大衛見耶和華在耶布斯人阿珥楠的禾場上應允了他，就在那裡獻祭。At that time, when David saw that the LORD had answered him at the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite, he offered sacrifices there.

²⁹摩西在曠野所造之耶和華的帳幕和燔祭壇都在基遍的高處；For the tabernacle of the LORD that Moses had made in the wilderness and the altar of burnt offering were presently at the high place in Gibeon,

³⁰只是大衛不敢前去求問　神，因為懼怕耶和華使者的刀。but David could not go before it to inquire of God, because he was afraid of the sword of the angel of the LORD.

美門口的瘸腿人

¹申初禱告的時候，彼得、約翰上聖殿去。One afternoon Peter and John were going up to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour.

²有一個人，生來是瘸腿的，天天被人抬來，放在殿的一個門口（那門名叫美門），要求進殿的人賙濟。And a man who was lame from birth was being carried to the temple gate called Beautiful, where he was put every day to beg from those entering the temple courts.

³他看見彼得、約翰將要進殿，就求他們賙濟。When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for money.

⁴彼得、約翰定睛看他；彼得說：「你看我們！」Peter looked directly at him, as did John. “Look at us!” said Peter.

⁵那人就留意看他們，指望得著甚麼。So the man gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them.

奉耶穌的名起來行走

⁶彼得說：「金銀我都沒有，只把我所有的給你：我奉拿撒勒人耶穌基督的名，叫你起來行走！」But Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, get up and walk!”

⁷於是拉著他的右手，扶他起來；他的腳和踝子骨立刻健壯了，Taking him by the right hand, Peter helped him up, and at once the man’s feet and ankles were made strong.

⁸就跳起來，站著，又行走，同他們進了殿，走著，跳著，讚美　神。He sprang to his feet and began to walk. Then he went with them into the temple courts, walking and leaping and praising God.

⁹百姓都看見他行走，讚美　神；When all the people saw him walking and praising God,

¹⁰認得他是那素常坐在殿的美門口求賙濟的，就因他所遇著的事滿心希奇、驚訝。they recognized him as the man who used to sit begging at the Beautiful Gate of the temple, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.

眾人跑到所羅門的廊下

¹¹那人正在稱為所羅門的廊下，拉著彼得、約翰；眾百姓一齊跑到他們那裡，很覺希奇。While the man clung to Peter and John, all the people were astonished and ran to them in the walkway called Solomon’s Colonnade.

彼得向百姓講道

¹²彼得看見，就對百姓說：「以色列人哪，為甚麼把這事當作希奇呢？為甚麼定睛看我們，以為我們憑自己的能力和虔誠使這人行走呢？And when Peter saw this, he addressed the people: “Men of Israel, why are you surprised by this? Why do you stare at us as if by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk?

¹³亞伯拉罕、以撒、雅各的　神，就是我們列祖的　神，已經榮耀了他的僕人（或譯：兒子）耶穌；你們卻把他交付彼拉多。彼拉多定意要釋放他，你們竟在彼拉多面前棄絕了他。The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified His servant Jesus. You handed Him over and rejected Him before Pilate, even though he had decided to release Him.

¹⁴你們棄絕了那聖潔公義者，反求著釋放一個兇手給你們。You rejected the Holy and Righteous One and asked that a murderer be released to you.

¹⁵你們殺了那生命的主，　神卻叫他從死裡復活了；我們都是為這事作見證。You killed the Author of life, but God raised Him from the dead, and we are witnesses of this fact.

¹⁶我們因信他的名，他的名便叫你們所看見所認識的這人健壯了；正是他所賜的信心，叫這人在你們眾人面前全然好了。By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know has been made strong. It is Jesus’ name and the faith that comes through Him that has given him this complete healing in your presence.

當悔改歸正

¹⁷弟兄們，我曉得你們做這事是出於不知，你們的官長也是如此。And now, brothers, I know that you acted in ignorance, as did your leaders.

¹⁸但神曾藉眾先知的口，預言基督將要受害，就這樣應驗了。But in this way God has fulfilled what He foretold through all the prophets, saying that His Christ would suffer.

¹⁹所以，你們當悔改歸正，使你們的罪得以塗抹，Repent, then, and turn back, so that your sins may be wiped away,

²⁰這樣，那安舒的日子就必從主面前來到；主也必差遣所預定給你們的基督（耶穌）降臨。that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that He may send Jesus, the Christ, who has been appointed for you.

²¹天必留他，等到萬物復興的時候，就是　神從創世以來、藉著聖先知的口所說的。Heaven must take Him in until the time comes for the restoration of all things, which God announced long ago through His holy prophets.

摩西和眾先知都說到這些日子

²²摩西曾說：『主─　神要從你們弟兄中間給你們興起一位先知像我，凡他向你們所說的，你們都要聽從。For Moses said, ‘The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your brothers. You must listen to Him in everything He tells you.

²³凡不聽從那先知的，必要從民中全然滅絕。』Everyone who does not listen to Him will be completely cut off from among his people.’

²⁴從撒母耳以來的眾先知，凡說預言的，也都說到這些日子。Indeed, all the prophets from Samuel on, as many as have spoken, have proclaimed these days.

²⁵你們是先知的子孫，也承受　神與你們祖宗所立的約，就是對亞伯拉罕說：『地上萬族都要因你的後裔得福。』And you are sons of the prophets and of the covenant God made with your fathers when He said to Abraham, ‘Through your offspring all the families of the earth will be blessed.’

²⁶神既興起他的僕人（或譯：兒子），就先差他到你們這裡來，賜福給你們，叫你們各人回轉，離開罪惡。」When God raised up His Servant, He sent Him first to you to bless you by turning each of you from your wicked ways.”
