俄陀聶拯救以色列

⁷以色列人行耶和華眼中看為惡的事，忘記耶和華─他們的　神，去事奉諸巴力和亞舍拉，So the Israelites did evil in the sight of the LORD; they forgot the LORD their God and served the Baals and the Asherahs.

⁸所以耶和華的怒氣向以色列人發作，就把他們交在美索不達米亞王古珊‧利薩田的手中。以色列人服事古珊‧利薩田八年。Then the anger of the LORD burned against Israel, and He sold them into the hand of Cushan-rishathaim king of Aram-naharaim, and the Israelites served him eight years.

⁹以色列人呼求耶和華的時候，耶和華就為他們興起一位拯救者救他們，就是迦勒兄弟基納斯的兒子俄陀聶。But when the Israelites cried out to the LORD, He raised up Othniel son of Caleb’s younger brother Kenaz as a deliverer to save them.

¹⁰耶和華的靈降在他身上，他就作了以色列的士師，出去爭戰。耶和華將美索不達米亞王古珊‧利薩田交在他手中，他便勝了古珊‧利薩田。The Spirit of the LORD came upon him, and he became Israel’s judge and went out to war. And the LORD delivered Cushan-rishathaim king of Aram into the hand of Othniel, who prevailed against him.

¹¹於是國中太平四十年。基納斯的兒子俄陀聶死了。So the land had rest for forty years, until Othniel son of Kenaz died.

摩押王伊磯倫欺壓以色列

¹²以色列人又行耶和華眼中看為惡的事，耶和華就使摩押王伊磯倫強盛，攻擊以色列人。Once again the Israelites did evil in the sight of the LORD. So He gave Eglon king of Moab power over Israel, because they had done evil in the sight of the LORD.

¹³伊磯倫招聚亞捫人和亞瑪力人，去攻打以色列人，佔據棕樹城。After enlisting the Ammonites and Amalekites to join forces with him, Eglon attacked and defeated Israel, taking possession of the City of Palms.

¹⁴於是以色列人服事摩押王伊磯倫十八年。The Israelites served Eglon king of Moab eighteen years.

左手便利的以笏

¹⁵以色列人呼求耶和華的時候，耶和華就為他們興起一位拯救者，就是便雅憫人基拉的兒子以笏；他是左手便利的。以色列人託他送禮物給摩押王伊磯倫。And again they cried out to the LORD, and He raised up Ehud son of Gera, a left-handed Benjamite, as their deliverer. So they sent him with tribute to Eglon king of Moab.

¹⁶以笏打了一把兩刃的劍，長一肘，帶在右腿上衣服裡面。Now Ehud had made for himself a double-edged sword a cubit long. He strapped it to his right thigh under his cloak

¹⁷他將禮物獻給摩押王伊磯倫（原來伊磯倫極其肥胖）；and brought the tribute to Eglon king of Moab, who was an obese man.

¹⁸以笏獻完禮物，便將抬禮物的人打發走了，After Ehud had finished presenting the tribute, he ushered out those who had carried it.

¹⁹自己卻從靠近吉甲鑿石之地回來，說：「王啊，我有一件機密事奏告你。」王說：「迴避吧！」於是左右侍立的人都退去了。But upon reaching the idols near Gilgal, he himself turned back and said, “I have a secret message for you, O king.” “Silence,” said the king, and all his attendants left him.

²⁰以笏來到王面前；王獨自一人坐在涼樓上。以笏說：「我奉　神的命報告你一件事。」王就從座位上站起來。Then Ehud approached him while he was sitting alone in the coolness of his upper room. “I have a word from God for you,” Ehud said, and the king rose from his seat.

²¹以笏便伸左手，從右腿上拔出劍來，刺入王的肚腹，And Ehud reached with his left hand, pulled the sword from his right thigh, and plunged it into Eglon’s belly.

²²連劍把都刺進去了。劍被肥肉夾住，他沒有從王的肚腹拔出來，且穿通了後身。Even the handle sank in after the blade, and Eglon’s fat closed in over it, so that Ehud did not withdraw the sword from his belly. And Eglon’s bowels emptied.

²³以笏就出到遊廊，將樓門盡都關鎖。Then Ehud went out through the porch, closing and locking the doors of the upper room behind him.

²⁴以笏出來之後，王的僕人到了，看見樓門關鎖，就說：「他必是在樓上大解。」After Ehud was gone, Eglon’s servants came in and found the doors of the upper room locked. “He must be relieving himself in the cool room,” they said.

²⁵他們等煩了，見仍不開樓門，就拿鑰匙開了，不料，他們的主人已死，倒在地上。So they waited until they became worried and saw that he had still not opened the doors of the upper room. Then they took the key and opened the doors—and there was their lord lying dead on the floor.

²⁶他們耽延的時候，以笏就逃跑了，經過鑿石之地，逃到西伊拉；Ehud, however, had escaped while the servants waited. He passed by the idols and escaped to Seirah.

²⁷到了，就在以法蓮山地吹角。以色列人隨著他下了山地，他在前頭引路，On arriving in Seirah, he blew the ram’s horn throughout the hill country of Ephraim. The Israelites came down with him from the hills, and he became their leader.

²⁸對他們說：「你們隨我來，因為耶和華已經把你們的仇敵摩押人交在你們手中。」於是他們跟著他下去，把守約旦河的渡口，不容摩押一人過去。“Follow me,” he told them, “for the LORD has delivered your enemies the Moabites into your hand.” So they followed him down and seized the fords of the Jordan leading to Moab, and they did not allow anyone to cross over.

²⁹那時擊殺了摩押人約有一萬，都是強壯的勇士，沒有一人逃脫。At that time they struck down about ten thousand Moabites, all robust and valiant men. Not one of them escaped.

³⁰這樣，摩押就被以色列人制伏了。國中太平八十年。So Moab was subdued under the hand of Israel that day, and the land had rest for eighty years.

珊迦

³¹以笏之後，有亞拿的兒子珊迦，他用趕牛的棍子打死六百非利士人。他也救了以色列人。After Ehud came Shamgar son of Anath. And he too saved Israel, striking down six hundred Philistines with an oxgoad.

迦南王耶賓和將軍西西拉

¹以笏死後，以色列人又行耶和華眼中看為惡的事，After Ehud died, the Israelites again did evil in the sight of the LORD.

²耶和華就把他們付與在夏瑣作王的迦南王耶賓手中；他的將軍是西西拉，住在外邦人的夏羅設。So the LORD sold them into the hand of Jabin king of Canaan, who reigned in Hazor. The commander of his forces was Sisera, who lived in Harosheth-hagoyim.

³耶賓王有鐵車九百輛。他大大欺壓以色列人二十年，以色列人就呼求耶和華。Then the Israelites cried out to the LORD, because Jabin had nine hundred chariots of iron, and he had harshly oppressed the Israelites for twenty years.

女先知底波拉呼召巴拉

⁴有一位女先知名叫底波拉，是拉比多的妻，當時作以色列的士師。Now Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lappidoth, was judging Israel at that time.

⁵她住在以法蓮山地拉瑪和伯特利中間，在底波拉的棕樹下。以色列人都上她那裡去聽判斷。And she would sit under the Palm of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in the hill country of Ephraim, where the Israelites would go up to her for judgment.

⁶她打發人從拿弗他利的基低斯將亞比挪菴的兒子巴拉召了來，對他說：「耶和華─以色列的　神吩咐你說：『你率領一萬拿弗他利和西布倫人上他泊山去。She summoned Barak son of Abinoam from Kedesh in Naphtali and said to him, “Surely the LORD, the God of Israel, is commanding you: ‘Go and march to Mount Tabor, taking with you ten thousand men of Naphtali and Zebulun.

⁷我必使耶賓的將軍西西拉率領他的車輛和全軍往基順河，到你那裡去；我必將他交在你手中。』」And I will draw out Sisera the commander of Jabin’s army, his chariots, and his troops to the River Kishon, and I will deliver him into your hand.’”

⁸巴拉說：「你若同我去，我就去；你若不同我去，我就不去。」Barak said to her, “If you will go with me, I will go; but if you will not go with me, I will not go.”

⁹底波拉說：「我必與你同去，只是你在所行的路上得不著榮耀，因為耶和華要將西西拉交在一個婦人手裡。」於是底波拉起來，與巴拉一同往基低斯去了。“I will certainly go with you,” Deborah replied, “but the road you are taking will bring you no honor, because the LORD will be selling Sisera into the hand of a woman.” So Deborah got up and went with Barak to Kedesh,

¹⁰巴拉就招聚西布倫人和拿弗他利人到基低斯，跟他上去的有一萬人。底波拉也同他上去。where he summoned Zebulun and Naphtali. Ten thousand men followed him, and Deborah also went with him.

¹¹摩西岳父（或譯：內兄）何巴的後裔，基尼人希百曾離開基尼族，到靠近基低斯、撒拿音的橡樹旁支搭帳棚。Now Heber the Kenite had moved away from the Kenites, the descendants of Hobab the father-in-law of Moses, and had pitched his tent by the great tree of Zaanannim, which was near Kedesh.

西西拉的大軍潰敗

¹²有人告訴西西拉說：「亞比挪菴的兒子巴拉已經上他泊山了。」When Sisera was told that Barak son of Abinoam had gone up Mount Tabor,

¹³西西拉就聚集所有的鐵車九百輛和跟隨他的全軍，從外邦人的夏羅設出來，到了基順河。he summoned all nine hundred of his iron chariots and all the men with him, from Harosheth-hagoyim to the River Kishon.

¹⁴底波拉對巴拉說：「你起來，今日就是耶和華將西西拉交在你手的日子。耶和華豈不在你前頭行嗎？」於是巴拉下了他泊山，跟隨他有一萬人。Then Deborah said to Barak, “Arise, for this is the day that the LORD has delivered Sisera into your hand. Has not the LORD gone before you?” So Barak came down from Mount Tabor with ten thousand men following him.

¹⁵耶和華使西西拉和他一切車輛全軍潰亂，在巴拉面前被刀殺敗；西西拉下車步行逃跑。And in front of him the LORD routed with the sword Sisera, all his charioteers, and all his army. Sisera abandoned his chariot and fled on foot.

¹⁶巴拉追趕車輛、軍隊，直到外邦人的夏羅設。西西拉的全軍都倒在刀下，沒有留下一人。Then Barak pursued the chariots and army as far as Harosheth-hagoyim, and the whole army of Sisera fell by the sword; not a single man was left.

雅億殺了西西拉

¹⁷只有西西拉步行逃跑，到了基尼人希百之妻雅億的帳棚，因為夏瑣王耶賓與基尼人希百家和好。Meanwhile, Sisera had fled on foot to the tent of Jael, the wife of Heber the Kenite, because there was peace between Jabin king of Hazor and the house of Heber the Kenite.

¹⁸雅億出來迎接西西拉，對他說：「請我主進來，不要懼怕」；西西拉就進了她的帳棚。雅億用被將他遮蓋。Jael went out to greet Sisera and said to him, “Come in, my lord. Come in with me. Do not be afraid.” So he entered her tent, and she covered him with a blanket.

¹⁹西西拉對雅億說：「我渴了，求你給我一點水喝。」雅億就打開皮袋，給他奶子喝，仍舊把他遮蓋。Sisera said to her, “Please give me a little water to drink, for I am thirsty.” So she opened a container of milk, gave him a drink, and covered him again.

²⁰西西拉又對雅億說：「請你站在帳棚門口，若有人來問你說：『有人在這裡沒有？』你就說：『沒有。』」“Stand at the entrance to the tent,” he said, “and if anyone comes and asks you, ‘Is there a man here?’ say, ‘No.’”

²¹西西拉疲乏沉睡。希百的妻雅億取了帳棚的橛子，手裡拿著錘子，輕悄悄地到他旁邊，將橛子從他鬢邊釘進去，釘入地裡。西西拉就死了。But as he lay sleeping from exhaustion, Heber’s wife Jael took a tent peg, grabbed a hammer, and went silently to Sisera. She drove the peg through his temple and into the ground, and he died.

²²巴拉追趕西西拉的時候，雅億出來迎接他說：「來吧，我將你所尋找的人給你看。」他就進入帳棚，看見西西拉已經死了，倒在地上，橛子還在他鬢中。When Barak arrived in pursuit of Sisera, Jael went out to greet him and said to him, “Come, and I will show you the man you are seeking.” So he went in with her, and there lay Sisera dead, with a tent peg through his temple.

²³這樣，　神使迦南王耶賓被以色列人制伏了。On that day God subdued Jabin king of Canaan before the Israelites.

²⁴從此以色列人的手越發有力，勝了迦南王耶賓，直到將他滅絕了。And the hand of the Israelites grew stronger and stronger against Jabin king of Canaan until they destroyed him.

底波拉和巴拉的歌

¹那時，底波拉和亞比挪菴的兒子巴拉作歌，說：On that day Deborah and Barak son of Abinoam sang this song:

²因為以色列中有軍長率領，百姓也甘心犧牲自己，你們應當頌讚耶和華！“When the princes take the lead in Israel, when the people volunteer, bless the LORD.

³君王啊，要聽！王子啊，要側耳而聽！我要向耶和華歌唱；我要歌頌耶和華─以色列的　神。Listen, O kings! Give ear, O princes! I will sing to the LORD; I will sing praise to the LORD, the God of Israel.

⁴耶和華啊，你從西珥出來，由以東地行走。那時地震天漏，雲也落雨。O LORD, when You went out from Seir, when You marched from the land of Edom, the earth trembled, the heavens poured out rain, and the clouds poured down water.

⁵山見耶和華的面就震動，西奈山見耶和華─以色列　神的面也是如此。The mountains quaked before the LORD, the One of Sinai, before the LORD, the God of Israel.

⁶在亞拿之子珊迦的時候，又在雅億的日子，大道無人行走，都是繞道而行。In the days of Shamgar son of Anath, in the days of Jael, the highways were deserted and the travelers took the byways.

⁷以色列中的官長停職，直到我底波拉興起，等我興起作以色列的母。Life in the villages ceased; it ended in Israel, until I, Deborah, arose, a mother in Israel.

⁸以色列人選擇新神，爭戰的事就臨到城門。那時，以色列四萬人中豈能見盾牌槍矛呢？When they chose new gods, then war came to their gates. Not a shield or spear was found among forty thousand in Israel.

⁹我心傾向以色列的首領，他們在民中甘心犧牲自己。你們應當頌讚耶和華！My heart is with the princes of Israel, with the volunteers among the people. Bless the LORD!

¹⁰騎白驢的、坐繡花毯子的、行路的，你們都當傳揚！You who ride white donkeys, who sit on saddle blankets, and you who travel the road, ponder

¹¹在遠離弓箭響聲打水之處，人必述說耶和華公義的作為，就是他治理以色列公義的作為。那時耶和華的民下到城門。the voices of the singers at the watering places. There they shall recount the righteous acts of the LORD, the righteous deeds of His villagers in Israel. Then the people of the LORD went down to the gates:

「興起！」各支派的響應與退縮

¹²底波拉啊，興起！興起！你當興起，興起，唱歌。亞比挪菴的兒子巴拉啊，你當奮興，擄掠你的敵人。‘Awake, awake, O Deborah! Awake, awake, sing a song! Arise, O Barak, and take hold of your captives, O son of Abinoam!’

¹³那時有餘剩的貴冑和百姓一同下來；耶和華降臨，為我攻擊勇士。Then the survivors came down to the nobles; the people of the LORD came down to me against the mighty.

¹⁴有根本在亞瑪力人的地，從以法蓮下來的；便雅憫在民中跟隨你。有掌權的從瑪吉下來；有持杖檢點民數的從西布倫下來；Some came from Ephraim, with their roots in Amalek; Benjamin came with your people after you. The commanders came down from Machir, the bearers of the marshal’s staff from Zebulun.

¹⁵以薩迦的首領與底波拉同來；以薩迦怎樣，巴拉也怎樣。眾人都跟隨巴拉衝下平原；在流便的溪水旁有心中定大志的。The princes of Issachar were with Deborah, and Issachar was with Barak, rushing into the valley at his heels. In the clans of Reuben there was great indecision.

¹⁶你為何坐在羊圈內聽群中吹笛的聲音呢？在流便的溪水旁有心中設大謀的。Why did you sit among the sheepfolds to hear the whistling for the flocks? In the clans of Reuben there was great indecision.

¹⁷基列人安居在約旦河外。但人為何等在船上？亞設人在海口靜坐，在港口安居。Gilead remained beyond the Jordan. Dan, why did you linger by the ships? Asher stayed at the coast and remained in his harbors.

¹⁸西布倫人是拚命敢死的；拿弗他利人在田野的高處也是如此。Zebulun was a people who risked their lives; Naphtali, too, on the heights of the battlefield.

基順河邊的大戰

¹⁹君王都來爭戰。那時迦南諸王在米吉多水旁的他納爭戰，卻未得擄掠銀錢。Kings came and fought; then the kings of Canaan fought at Taanach by the waters of Megiddo, but they took no plunder of silver.

²⁰星宿從天上爭戰，從其軌道攻擊西西拉。From the heavens the stars fought; from their courses they fought against Sisera.

²¹基順古河把敵人沖沒；我的靈啊，應當努力前行。The River Kishon swept them away, the ancient river, the River Kishon. March on, O my soul, in strength!

²²那時壯馬馳驅，踢跳，奔騰。Then the hooves of horses thundered—the mad galloping of his stallions.

²³耶和華的使者說：應當咒詛米羅斯，大大咒詛其中的居民；因為他們不來幫助耶和華，不來幫助耶和華攻擊勇士。‘Curse Meroz,’ says the angel of the LORD. ‘Bitterly curse her inhabitants; for they did not come to help the LORD, to help the LORD against the mighty.’

願雅億多得福氣

²⁴願基尼人希百的妻雅億比眾婦人多得福氣，比住帳棚的婦人更蒙福祉。Most blessed among women is Jael, the wife of Heber the Kenite, most blessed of tent-dwelling women.

²⁵西西拉求水，雅億給他奶子，用寶貴的盤子給他奶油。He asked for water, and she gave him milk. In a magnificent bowl she brought him curds.

²⁶雅億左手拿著帳棚的橛子，右手拿著匠人的錘子，擊打西西拉，打傷他的頭，把他的鬢角打破穿通。She reached for the tent peg, her right hand for the workman’s hammer. She struck Sisera and crushed his skull; she shattered and pierced his temple.

²⁷西西拉在她腳前曲身仆倒，在她腳前曲身倒臥；在那裡曲身，就在那裡死亡。At her feet he collapsed, he fell, there he lay still; at her feet he collapsed, he fell; where he collapsed, there he fell dead.

西西拉的母親空等

²⁸西西拉的母親從窗戶裡往外觀看，從窗櫺中呼叫說：他的戰車為何耽延不來呢？他的車輪為何行得慢呢？Sisera’s mother looked through the window; she peered through the lattice and lamented: ‘Why is his chariot so long in coming? What has delayed the clatter of his chariots?’

²⁹聰明的宮女安慰她（原文是回答她），她也自言自語地說：Her wisest ladies answer; indeed she keeps telling herself,

³⁰他們莫非得財而分？每人得了一兩個女子？西西拉得了彩衣為擄物，得繡花的彩衣為掠物。這彩衣兩面繡花，乃是披在被擄之人頸項上的。‘Are they not finding and dividing the spoil—a girl or two for each warrior, a plunder of dyed garments for Sisera, the spoil of embroidered garments for the neck of the looter?’

³¹耶和華啊，願你的仇敵都這樣滅亡！願愛你的人如日頭出現，光輝烈烈！這樣，國中太平四十年。So may all Your enemies perish, O LORD! But may those who love You shine like the sun at its brightest.” And the land had rest for forty years.

眼睛是身上的燈

³³「沒有人點燈放在地窨子裡，或是斗底下，總是放在燈臺上，使進來的人得見亮光。No one lights a lamp and puts it in a cellar or under a basket. Instead, he sets it on a stand, so those who enter can see the light.

³⁴你眼睛就是身上的燈。你的眼睛若瞭亮，全身就光明；眼睛若昏花，全身就黑暗。Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eyes are good, your whole body also is full of light. But when they are bad, your body is full of darkness.

³⁵所以，你要省察，恐怕你裡頭的光或者黑暗了。Be careful, then, that the light within you is not darkness.

³⁶若是你全身光明，毫無黑暗，就必全然光明，如同燈的明光照亮你。」So if your whole body is full of light, with no part of it in darkness, you will be radiant, as though a lamp were shining on you.”

在法利賽人家吃飯

³⁷說話的時候，有一個法利賽人請耶穌同他吃飯，耶穌就進去坐席。As Jesus was speaking, a Pharisee invited Him to dine with him; so He went in and reclined at the table.

³⁸這法利賽人看見耶穌飯前不洗手便詫異。But the Pharisee was surprised to see that Jesus did not first wash before the meal.

只洗淨杯盤的外面

³⁹主對他說：「如今你們法利賽人洗淨杯盤的外面，你們裡面卻滿了勒索和邪惡。Then the Lord said, “Now you Pharisees clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside you are full of greed and wickedness.

⁴⁰無知的人哪，造外面的，不也造裡面嗎？You fools! Did not the One who made the outside make the inside as well?

⁴¹只要把裡面的施捨給人，凡物於你們就都潔淨了。But give as alms the things that are within you, and behold, everything will be clean for you.

法利賽人有禍了

⁴²「你們法利賽人有禍了！因為你們將薄荷、芸香並各樣菜蔬獻上十分之一，那公義和愛　神的事反倒不行了。這原是你們當行的；那也是不可不行的。Woe to you Pharisees! For you pay tithes of mint, rue, and every herb, but you disregard justice and the love of God. You should have practiced the latter without neglecting the former.

⁴³你們法利賽人有禍了！因為你們喜愛會堂裡的首位，又喜愛人在街市上問你們的安。Woe to you Pharisees! For you love the chief seats in the synagogues and the greetings in the marketplaces.

⁴⁴你們有禍了！因為你們如同不顯露的墳墓，走在上面的人並不知道。」Woe to you! For you are like unmarked graves, which men walk over without even noticing.”

律法師也有禍了

⁴⁵律法師中有一個回答耶穌說：「夫子！你這樣說也把我們糟蹋了。」One of the experts in the law told Him, “Teacher, when You say these things, You insult us as well.”

⁴⁶耶穌說：「你們律法師也有禍了！因為你們把難擔的擔子放在人身上，自己一個指頭卻不肯動。“Woe to you as well, experts in the law!” He replied. “For you weigh men down with heavy burdens, but you yourselves will not lift a finger to lighten their load.

⁴⁷你們有禍了！因為你們修造先知的墳墓，那先知正是你們的祖宗所殺的。Woe to you! For you build tombs for the prophets, but it was your fathers who killed them.

⁴⁸可見你們祖宗所做的事，你們又證明又喜歡；因為他們殺了先知，你們修造先知的墳墓。So you are witnesses consenting to the deeds of your fathers: They killed the prophets, and you build their tombs.

⁴⁹所以　神用智慧（用智慧：或譯的智者）曾說：『我要差遣先知和使徒到他們那裡去，有的他們要殺害，有的他們要逼迫』，Because of this, the wisdom of God said, ‘I will send them prophets and apostles; some of them they will kill and others they will persecute.’

⁵⁰使創世以來所流眾先知血的罪都要問在這世代的人身上，As a result, this generation will be charged with the blood of all the prophets that has been shed since the foundation of the world,

⁵¹就是從亞伯的血起，直到被殺在壇和殿中間撒迦利亞的血為止。我實在告訴你們，這都要問在這世代的人身上。from the blood of Abel to the blood of Zechariah, who was killed between the altar and the sanctuary. Yes, I tell you, all of it will be charged to this generation.

⁵²你們律法師有禍了！因為你們把知識的鑰匙奪了去，自己不進去，正要進去的人你們也阻擋他們。」Woe to you experts in the law! For you have taken away the key to knowledge. You yourselves have not entered, and you have hindered those who were entering.”

文士和法利賽人伺機挑錯

⁵³耶穌從那裡出來，文士和法利賽人就極力地催逼他，引動他多說話，As Jesus went on from there, the scribes and Pharisees began to oppose Him bitterly and to ply Him with questions about many things,

⁵⁴私下窺聽，要拿他的話柄。waiting to catch Him in something He might say.
