不可獻有殘疾的牛羊

¹「凡有殘疾，或有甚麼惡病的牛羊，你都不可獻給耶和華─你的　神，因為這是耶和華─你　神所憎惡的。You shall not sacrifice to the LORD your God an ox or a sheep with any defect or serious flaw, for that is detestable to the LORD your God.

憑兩三個見證人定罪

²「在你們中間，在耶和華─你　神所賜你的諸城中，無論哪座城裡，若有人，或男或女，行耶和華─你　神眼中看為惡的事，違背了他的約，If a man or woman among you in one of the towns that the LORD your God gives you is found doing evil in the sight of the LORD your God by transgressing His covenant

³去事奉敬拜別神，或拜日頭，或拜月亮，或拜天象，是主不曾吩咐的；and going to worship other gods, bowing down to them or to the sun or moon or any of the host of heaven—which I have forbidden—

⁴有人告訴你，你也聽見了，就要細細地探聽，果然是真，準有這可憎惡的事行在以色列中，and if it is reported and you hear about it, you must investigate it thoroughly. If the report is true and such an abomination has happened in Israel,

⁵你就要將行這惡事的男人或女人拉到城門外，用石頭將他打死。you must bring out to your gates the man or woman who has done this evil thing, and you must stone that person to death.

⁶要憑兩三個人的口作見證將那當死的人治死；不可憑一個人的口作見證將他治死。On the testimony of two or three witnesses a man shall be put to death, but he shall not be executed on the testimony of a lone witness.

⁷見證人要先下手，然後眾民也下手將他治死。這樣，就把那惡從你們中間除掉。The hands of the witnesses shall be the first in putting him to death, and after that, the hands of all the people. So you must purge the evil from among you.

難斷的案件

⁸「你城中若起了爭訟的事，或因流血，或因爭競，或因毆打，是你難斷的案件，你就當起來，往耶和華─你　神所選擇的地方If a case is too difficult for you to judge, whether the controversy within your gates is regarding bloodshed, lawsuits, or assaults, you must go up to the place the LORD your God will choose.

⁹去見祭司利未人，並當時的審判官，求問他們，他們必將判語指示你。You are to go to the Levitical priests and to the judge who presides at that time. Inquire of them, and they will give you a verdict in the case.

¹⁰他們在耶和華所選擇的地方指示你的判語，你必照著他們所指教你的一切話謹守遵行。You must abide by the verdict they give you at the place the LORD will choose. Be careful to do everything they instruct you,

¹¹要按他們所指教你的律法，照他們所斷定的去行；他們所指示你的判語，你不可偏離左右。according to the terms of law they give and the verdict they proclaim. Do not turn aside to the right or to the left from the decision they declare to you.

¹²若有人擅敢不聽從那侍立在耶和華─你　神面前的祭司，或不聽從審判官，那人就必治死；這樣，便將那惡從以色列中除掉。But the man who acts presumptuously, refusing to listen either to the priest who stands there to serve the LORD your God, or to the judge, must be put to death. You must purge the evil from Israel.

¹³眾百姓都要聽見害怕，不再擅敢行事。」Then all the people will hear and be afraid, and will no longer behave arrogantly.

將來立王的條例

¹⁴「到了耶和華─你　神所賜你的地，得了那地居住的時候，若說：『我要立王治理我，像四圍的國一樣。』When you enter the land that the LORD your God is giving you and have taken possession of it and settled in it, and you say, “Let us set a king over us like all the nations around us,”

¹⁵你總要立耶和華─你　神所揀選的人為王。必從你弟兄中立一人；不可立你弟兄以外的人為王。you are to appoint over yourselves the king whom the LORD your God shall choose. Appoint a king from among your brothers; you are not to set over yourselves a foreigner who is not one of your brothers.

¹⁶只是王不可為自己加添馬匹，也不可使百姓回埃及去，為要加添他的馬匹，因耶和華曾吩咐你們說：『不可再回那條路去。』But the king must not acquire many horses for himself or send the people back to Egypt to acquire more horses, for the LORD has said, ‘You are never to go back that way again.’

¹⁷他也不可為自己多立妃嬪，恐怕他的心偏邪；也不可為自己多積金銀。He must not take many wives for himself, lest his heart go astray. He must not accumulate for himself large amounts of silver and gold.

¹⁸他登了國位，就要將祭司利未人面前的這律法書，為自己抄錄一本，When he is seated on his royal throne, he must write for himself a copy of this instruction on a scroll in the presence of the Levitical priests.

¹⁹存在他那裡，要平生誦讀，好學習敬畏耶和華─他的　神，謹守遵行這律法書上的一切言語和這些律例，It is to remain with him, and he is to read from it all the days of his life, so that he may learn to fear the LORD his God by carefully observing all the words of this instruction and these statutes.

²⁰免得他向弟兄心高氣傲，偏左偏右，離了這誡命。這樣，他和他的子孫便可在以色列中，在國位上年長日久。」Then his heart will not be exalted above his countrymen, and he will not turn aside from the commandment, to the right or to the left, in order that he and his sons may reign many years over his kingdom in Israel.

祭司利未人的分

¹「祭司利未人和利未全支派必在以色列中無分無業；他們所吃用的就是獻給耶和華的火祭和一切所捐的。The Levitical priests—indeed the whole tribe of Levi—shall have no portion or inheritance with Israel. They are to eat the food offerings to the LORD; that is their inheritance.

²他們在弟兄中必沒有產業；耶和華是他們的產業，正如耶和華所應許他們的。Although they have no inheritance among their brothers, the LORD is their inheritance, as He promised them.

³祭司從百姓所當得的分乃是這樣：凡獻牛或羊為祭的，要把前腿和兩腮並脾胃給祭司。This shall be the priests’ share from the people who offer a sacrifice, whether a bull or a sheep: the priests are to be given the shoulder, the jowls, and the stomach.

⁴初收的五穀、新酒和油，並初剪的羊毛，也要給他；You are to give them the firstfruits of your grain, new wine, and oil, and the first wool sheared from your flock.

⁵因為耶和華─你的　神從你各支派中將他揀選出來，使他和他子孫永遠奉耶和華的名侍立，事奉。For the LORD your God has chosen Levi and his sons out of all your tribes to stand and minister in His name for all time.

⁶「利未人無論寄居在以色列中的哪一座城，若從那裡出來，一心願意到耶和華所選擇的地方，Now if a Levite moves from any town of residence throughout Israel and comes in all earnestness to the place the LORD will choose,

⁷就要奉耶和華─他　神的名事奉，像他眾弟兄利未人侍立在耶和華面前事奉一樣。then he shall serve in the name of the LORD his God like all his fellow Levites who stand there before the LORD.

⁸除了他賣祖父產業所得的以外，還要得一分祭物與他們同吃。」They shall eat equal portions, even though he has received money from the sale of his father’s estate.

不可學外邦人占卜交鬼

⁹「你到了耶和華─你　神所賜之地，那些國民所行可憎惡的事，你不可學著行。When you enter the land that the LORD your God is giving you, do not imitate the detestable ways of the nations there.

¹⁰你們中間不可有人使兒女經火，也不可有占卜的、觀兆的、用法術的、行邪術的、Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, practices divination or conjury, interprets omens, practices sorcery,

¹¹用迷術的、交鬼的、行巫術的、過陰的。casts spells, consults a medium or spiritist, or inquires of the dead.

¹²凡行這些事的都為耶和華所憎惡；因那些國民行這可憎惡的事，所以耶和華─你的　神將他們從你面前趕出。For whoever does these things is detestable to the LORD. And because of these detestable things, the LORD your God is driving out the nations before you.

¹³你要在耶和華─你的　神面前作完全人。」You must be blameless before the LORD your God.

¹⁴「因你所要趕出的那些國民都聽信觀兆的和占卜的，至於你，耶和華─你的　神從來不許你這樣行。Though these nations, which you will dispossess, listen to conjurers and diviners, the LORD your God has not permitted you to do so.

神要興起一位像摩西的先知

¹⁵耶和華─你的　神要從你們弟兄中間給你興起一位先知，像我，你們要聽從他。The LORD your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your brothers. You must listen to him.

¹⁶正如你在何烈山大會的日子求耶和華─你　神一切的話，說：『求你不再叫我聽見耶和華─我　神的聲音，也不再叫我看見這大火，免得我死亡。』This is what you asked of the LORD your God at Horeb on the day of the assembly, when you said, “Let us not hear the voice of the LORD our God or see this great fire anymore, so that we will not die!”

¹⁷耶和華就對我說：『他們所說的是。Then the LORD said to me, “They have spoken well.

¹⁸我必在他們弟兄中間給他們興起一位先知，像你。我要將當說的話傳給他；他要將我一切所吩咐的都傳給他們。I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brothers. I will put My words in his mouth, and he will tell them everything I command him.

¹⁹誰不聽他奉我名所說的話，我必討誰的罪。And I will hold accountable anyone who does not listen to My words that the prophet speaks in My name.

怎樣分辨假先知

²⁰若有先知擅敢託我的名說我所未曾吩咐他說的話，或是奉別神的名說話，那先知就必治死。』But if any prophet dares to speak a message in My name that I have not commanded him to speak, or to speak in the name of other gods, that prophet must be put to death.”

²¹你心裡若說：『耶和華所未曾吩咐的話，我們怎能知道呢？』You may ask in your heart, “How can we recognize a message that the LORD has not spoken?”

²²先知託耶和華的名說話，所說的若不成就，也無效驗，這就是耶和華所未曾吩咐的，是那先知擅自說的，你不要怕他。」When a prophet speaks in the name of the LORD and the message does not come to pass or come true, that is a message the LORD has not spoken. The prophet has spoken presumptuously. Do not be afraid of him.

分定三座逃城

¹「耶和華─你　神將列國之民剪除的時候，耶和華─你　神也將他們的地賜給你，你接著住他們的城邑並他們的房屋，When the LORD your God has cut off the nations whose land He is giving you, and when you have driven them out and settled in their cities and houses,

²就要在耶和華─你　神所賜你為業的地上分定三座城。then you are to set apart for yourselves three cities within the land that the LORD your God is giving you to possess.

³要將耶和華─你　神使你承受為業的地分為三段；又要預備道路，使誤殺人的，都可以逃到那裡去。You are to build roads for yourselves and divide into three regions the land that the LORD your God is giving you as an inheritance, so that any manslayer can flee to these cities.

⁴「誤殺人的逃到那裡可以存活，定例乃是這樣：凡素無仇恨，無心殺了人的，Now this is the situation regarding the manslayer who flees to one of these cities to save his life, having killed his neighbor accidentally, without intending to harm him:

⁵就如人與鄰舍同入樹林砍伐樹木，手拿斧子一砍，本想砍下樹木，不料，斧頭脫了把，飛落在鄰舍身上，以致於死，這人逃到那些城的一座城，就可以存活，If he goes into the forest with his neighbor to cut timber and swings his axe to chop down a tree, but the blade flies off the handle and strikes and kills his neighbor, he may flee to one of these cities to save his life.

⁶免得報血仇的，心中火熱追趕他，因路遠就追上，將他殺死；其實他不該死，因為他與被殺的素無仇恨。Otherwise, the avenger of blood might pursue the manslayer in a rage, overtake him if the distance is great, and strike him dead though he did not deserve to die, since he did not intend any harm.

⁷所以我吩咐你說，要分定三座城。This is why I am commanding you to set apart for yourselves three cities.

⁸耶和華─你　神若照他向你列祖所起的誓擴張你的境界，將所應許賜你列祖的地全然給你，And if the LORD your God enlarges your territory, as He swore to your fathers, and gives you all the land He promised them,

⁹你若謹守遵行我今日所吩咐的這一切誡命，愛耶和華─你的　神，常常遵行他的道，就要在這三座城之外，再添三座城，and if you carefully keep all these commandments I am giving you today, loving the LORD your God and walking in His ways at all times, then you are to add three more cities to these three.

¹⁰免得無辜之人的血流在耶和華─你　神所賜你為業的地上，流血的罪就歸於你。Thus innocent blood will not be shed in the land that the LORD your God is giving you as an inheritance, so that you will not be guilty of bloodshed.

故意殺人的不受保護

¹¹「若有人恨他的鄰舍，埋伏著起來擊殺他，以致於死，便逃到這些城的一座城，If, however, a man hates his neighbor and lies in wait, attacks him and kills him, and then flees to one of these cities,

¹²本城的長老就要打發人去，從那裡帶出他來，交在報血仇的手中，將他治死。the elders of his city must send for him, bring him back, and hand him over to the avenger of blood to die.

¹³你眼不可顧惜他，卻要從以色列中除掉流無辜血的罪，使你可以得福。」You must show him no pity. You are to purge from Israel the guilt of shedding innocent blood, that it may go well with you.

不可挪移地界

¹⁴「在耶和華─你　神所賜你承受為業之地，不可挪移你鄰舍的地界，那是先人所定的。」You must not move your neighbor’s boundary marker, which was set up by your ancestors to mark the inheritance you shall receive in the land that the LORD your God is giving you to possess.

見證人的規定

¹⁵「人無論犯甚麼罪，作甚麼惡，不可憑一個人的口作見證，總要憑兩三個人的口作見證才可定案。A lone witness is not sufficient to establish any wrongdoing or sin against a man, regardless of what offense he may have committed. A matter must be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.

¹⁶若有凶惡的見證人起來，見證某人作惡，If a false witness testifies against someone, accusing him of a crime,

¹⁷這兩個爭訟的人就要站在耶和華面前，和當時的祭司，並審判官面前，both parties to the dispute must stand in the presence of the LORD, before the priests and judges who are in office at that time.

¹⁸審判官要細細地查究，若見證人果然是作假見證的，以假見證陷害弟兄，The judges shall investigate thoroughly, and if the witness is proven to be a liar who has falsely accused his brother,

¹⁹你們就要待他如同他想要待的弟兄。這樣，就把那惡從你們中間除掉。you must do to him as he intended to do to his brother. So you must purge the evil from among you.

²⁰別人聽見都要害怕，就不敢在你們中間再行這樣的惡了。Then the rest of the people will hear and be afraid, and they will never again do anything so evil among you.

²¹你眼不可顧惜，要以命償命，以眼還眼，以牙還牙，以手還手，以腳還腳。」You must show no pity: life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, and foot for foot.

約翰在曠野得到神的話

¹凱撒提庇留在位第十五年，本丟•彼拉多作猶太巡撫，希律作加利利分封的王，他兄弟腓力作以土利亞和特拉可尼地方分封的王，呂撒聶作亞比利尼分封的王，In the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, while Pontius Pilate was governor of Judea, Herod tetrarch of Galilee, his brother Philip tetrarch of Ituraea and Trachonitis, and Lysanias tetrarch of Abilene,

²亞那和該亞法作大祭司。那時，撒迦利亞的兒子約翰在曠野裡，　神的話臨到他。during the high priesthood of Annas and Caiaphas, the word of God came to John son of Zechariah in the wilderness.

宣講悔改的洗禮

³他就來到約旦河一帶地方，宣講悔改的洗禮，使罪得赦。He went into all the region around the Jordan, preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins,

⁴正如先知以賽亞書上所記的話，說：在曠野有人聲喊著說：預備主的道，修直他的路！as it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet: “A voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for Him.

⁵一切山窪都要填滿；大小山岡都要削平！彎彎曲曲的地方要改為正直；高高低低的道路要改為平坦！Every valley shall be filled in, and every mountain and hill made low. The crooked ways shall be made straight, and the rough ways smooth.

⁶凡有血氣的，都要見　神的救恩！And all humanity will see God’s salvation.’”

結出與悔改相稱的果子

⁷約翰對那出來要受他洗的眾人說：「毒蛇的種類！誰指示你們逃避將來的忿怒呢？Then John said to the crowds coming out to be baptized by him, “You brood of vipers, who warned you to flee from the coming wrath?

⁸你們要結出果子來，與悔改的心相稱。不要自己心裡說：『有亞伯拉罕為我們的祖宗。』我告訴你們，　神能從這些石頭中，給亞伯拉罕興起子孫來。Produce fruit, then, in keeping with repentance. And do not begin to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham.

⁹現在斧子已經放在樹根上，凡不結好果子的樹就砍下來，丟在火裡。」The axe lies ready at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.”

我們當做甚麼呢

¹⁰眾人問他說：「這樣，我們當做甚麼呢？」The crowds asked him, “What then should we do?”

¹¹約翰回答說：「有兩件衣裳的，就分給那沒有的；有食物的，也當這樣行。」John replied, “Whoever has two tunics should share with him who has none, and whoever has food should do the same.”

¹²又有稅吏來要受洗，問他說：「夫子，我們當做甚麼呢？」Even tax collectors came to be baptized. “Teacher,” they asked, “what should we do?”

¹³約翰說：「除了例定的數目，不要多取。」“Collect no more than you are authorized,” he answered.

¹⁴又有兵丁問他說：「我們當做甚麼呢？」約翰說：「不要以強暴待人，也不要訛詐人，自己有錢糧就當知足。」Then some soldiers asked him, “And what should we do?” “Do not take money by force or false accusation,” he said. “Be content with your wages.”

比約翰更大的要來

¹⁵百姓指望基督來的時候，人都心裡猜疑，或者約翰是基督。The people were waiting expectantly and were all wondering in their hearts if John could be the Christ.

¹⁶約翰說：「我是用水給你們施洗，但有一位能力比我更大的要來，我就是給他解鞋帶也不配。他要用聖靈與火給你們施洗。John answered all of them: “I baptize you with water, but One more powerful than I will come, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.

¹⁷他手裡拿著簸箕，要揚淨他的場，把麥子收在倉裡，把糠用不滅的火燒盡了。」His winnowing fork is in His hand to clear His threshing floor and to gather the wheat into His barn; but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.”

¹⁸約翰又用許多別的話勸百姓，向他們傳福音。With these and many other exhortations, John proclaimed the good news to the people.

約翰被收在監裡

¹⁹只是分封的王希律，因他兄弟之妻希羅底的緣故，並因他所行的一切惡事，受了約翰的責備；But when he rebuked Herod the tetrarch regarding his brother’s wife Herodias and all the evils he had done,

²⁰又另外添了一件，就是把約翰收在監裡。Herod added this to them all: He locked John up in prison.

耶穌受洗

²¹眾百姓都受了洗，耶穌也受了洗。正禱告的時候，天就開了，When all the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized too. And as He was praying, heaven was opened,

²²聖靈降臨在他身上，形狀彷彿鴿子；又有聲音從天上來，說：「你是我的愛子，我喜悅你。」and the Holy Spirit descended on Him in a bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: “You are My beloved Son; in You I am well pleased.”
