摩西陳明律法的時間和地點

⁴⁴摩西在以色列人面前所陳明的律法─This is the law that Moses set before the Israelites.

⁴⁵就是摩西在以色列人出埃及後所傳給他們的法度、律例、典章；These are the testimonies, statutes, and ordinances that Moses proclaimed to them after they had come out of Egypt,

⁴⁶在約旦河東伯‧毘珥對面的谷中，在住希實本、亞摩利王西宏之地；這西宏是摩西和以色列人出埃及後所擊殺的。while they were in the valley across the Jordan facing Beth-peor in the land of Sihon king of the Amorites, who lived in Heshbon and was defeated by Moses and the Israelites after they had come out of Egypt.

⁴⁷他們得了他的地，又得了巴珊王噩的地，就是兩個亞摩利王，在約旦河東向日出之地。They took possession of the land belonging to Sihon and to Og king of Bashan—the two Amorite kings across the Jordan to the east—

⁴⁸從亞嫩谷邊的亞羅珥，直到西雲山，就是黑門山。extending from Aroer on the rim of the Arnon Valley as far as Mount Siyon (that is, Hermon),

⁴⁹還有約旦河東的全亞拉巴，直到亞拉巴海，靠近毘斯迦山根。including all the Arabah on the east side of the Jordan and as far as the Sea of the Arabah, below the slopes of Pisgah.

神在何烈山與我們立約

¹摩西將以色列眾人召了來，對他們說：「以色列人哪，我今日曉諭你們的律例典章，你們要聽，可以學習，謹守遵行。Then Moses summoned all Israel and said to them: Hear, O Israel, the statutes and ordinances that I declare in your hearing this day. Learn them and observe them carefully.

²耶和華─我們的　神在何烈山與我們立約。The LORD our God made a covenant with us at Horeb.

³這約不是與我們列祖立的，乃是與我們今日在這裡存活之人立的。He did not make this covenant with our fathers, but with all of us who are alive here today.

⁴耶和華在山上，從火中，面對面與你們說話─The LORD spoke with you face to face out of the fire on the mountain.

⁵那時我站在耶和華和你們中間，要將耶和華的話傳給你們；因為你們懼怕那火，沒有上山─說：At that time I was standing between the LORD and you to declare to you the word of the LORD, because you were afraid of the fire and would not go up the mountain. And He said:

十誡：敬拜獨一的神

⁶「『我是耶和華─你的　神，曾將你從埃及地為奴之家領出來。“I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.

⁷「『除了我以外，你不可有別的神。You shall have no other gods before Me.

⁸「『不可為自己雕刻偶像，也不可做甚麼形像，彷彿上天、下地和地底下、水中的百物。You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in the heavens above, on the earth below, or in the waters beneath.

⁹不可跪拜那些像，也不可事奉它，因為我耶和華─你的　神是忌邪的　神。恨我的，我必追討他的罪，自父及子，直到三、四代；You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on their children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me,

¹⁰愛我、守我誡命的，我必向他們發慈愛，直到千代。but showing loving devotion to a thousand generations of those who love Me and keep My commandments.

¹¹「『不可妄稱耶和華─你　神的名；因為妄稱耶和華名的，耶和華必不以他為無罪。You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not leave anyone unpunished who takes His name in vain.

¹²「『當照耶和華─你　神所吩咐的守安息日為聖日。Observe the Sabbath day by keeping it holy, as the LORD your God has commanded you.

¹³六日要勞碌做你一切的工，Six days you shall labor and do all your work,

¹⁴但第七日是向耶和華─你　神當守的安息日。這一日，你和你的兒女、僕婢、牛、驢、牲畜，並在你城裡寄居的客旅，無論何工都不可做，使你的僕婢可以和你一樣安息。but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God, on which you must not do any work—neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or maidservant, nor your ox or donkey or any of your livestock, nor the foreigner within your gates, so that your manservant and maidservant may rest as you do.

¹⁵你也要記念你在埃及地作過奴僕；耶和華─你　神用大能的手和伸出來的膀臂將你從那裡領出來。因此，耶和華─你的　神吩咐你守安息日。Remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and that the LORD your God brought you out of there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. That is why the LORD your God has commanded you to keep the Sabbath day.

十誡：怎樣對待人

¹⁶「『當照耶和華─你　神所吩咐的孝敬父母，使你得福，並使你的日子在耶和華─你　神所賜你的地上得以長久。Honor your father and your mother, as the LORD your God has commanded you, so that your days may be long and that it may go well with you in the land that the LORD your God is giving you.

百姓懼怕，請摩西居中傳話

²²「這些話是耶和華在山上，從火中、雲中、幽暗中，大聲曉諭你們全會眾的；此外並沒有添別的話。他就把這話寫在兩塊石版上，交給我了。」The LORD spoke these commandments in a loud voice to your whole assembly out of the fire, the cloud, and the deep darkness on the mountain; He added nothing more. And He wrote them on two tablets of stone and gave them to me.

²³「那時，火焰燒山，你們聽見從黑暗中出來的聲音；你們支派中所有的首領和長老都來就近我，And when you heard the voice out of the darkness while the mountain was blazing with fire, all the heads of your tribes and your elders approached me,

²⁴說：『看哪，耶和華─我們　神將他的榮光和他的大能顯給我們看，我們又聽見他的聲音從火中出來。今日我們得見　神與人說話，人還存活。and you said, “Behold, the LORD our God has shown us His glory and greatness, and we have heard His voice out of the fire. Today we have seen that a man can live even if God speaks with him.

²⁵現在這大火將要燒滅我們，我們何必冒死呢？若再聽見耶和華─我們　神的聲音就必死亡。But now, why should we die? For this great fire will consume us, and we will die, if we hear the voice of the LORD our God any longer.

²⁶凡屬血氣的，曾有何人聽見永生　神的聲音從火中出來，像我們聽見還能存活呢？For who of all flesh has heard the voice of the living God speaking out of the fire, as we have, and survived?

²⁷求你近前去，聽耶和華─我們　神所要說的一切話，將他對你說的話都傳給我們，我們就聽從遵行。』Go near and listen to all that the LORD our God says. Then you can tell us everything the LORD our God tells you; we will listen and obey.”

²⁸「你們對我說的話，耶和華都聽見了。耶和華對我說：『這百姓的話，我聽見了；他們所說的都是。And the LORD heard the words you spoke to me, and He said to me, “I have heard the words that these people have spoken to you. They have done well in all that they have spoken.

²⁹惟願他們存這樣的心敬畏我，常遵守我的一切誡命，使他們和他們的子孫永遠得福。If only they had such a heart to fear Me and keep all My commandments always, so that it might be well with them and with their children forever.

³⁰你去對他們說：你們回帳棚去吧！Go and tell them: ‘Return to your tents.’

³¹至於你，可以站在我這裡，我要將一切誡命、律例、典章傳給你；你要教訓他們，使他們在我賜他們為業的地上遵行。』But you stand here with Me, that I may speak to you all the commandments and statutes and ordinances you are to teach them to follow in the land that I am giving them to possess.”

³²所以，你們要照耶和華─你們　神所吩咐的謹守遵行，不可偏離左右。So be careful to do as the LORD your God has commanded you; you are not to turn aside to the right or to the left.

³³耶和華─你們　神所吩咐你們行的，你們都要去行，使你們可以存活得福，並使你們的日子在所要承受的地上得以長久。」You must walk in all the ways that the LORD your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess.

敬畏神，日子得以長久

¹「這是耶和華─你們　神所吩咐教訓你們的誡命、律例、典章，使你們在所要過去得為業的地上遵行，These are the commandments and statutes and ordinances that the LORD your God has instructed me to teach you to follow in the land that you are about to enter and possess,

²好叫你和你子子孫孫一生敬畏耶和華─你的　神，謹守他的一切律例誡命，就是我所吩咐你的，使你的日子得以長久。so that you and your children and grandchildren may fear the LORD your God all the days of your lives by keeping all His statutes and commandments that I give you, and so that your days may be prolonged.

³以色列啊，你要聽，要謹守遵行，使你可以在那流奶與蜜之地得以享福，人數極其增多，正如耶和華─你列祖的　神所應許你的。Hear, O Israel, and be careful to observe them, so that you may prosper and multiply greatly in a land flowing with milk and honey, just as the LORD, the God of your fathers, has promised you.

盡心、盡性、盡力愛神

⁴「以色列啊，你要聽！耶和華─我們　神是獨一的主。Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is One.

⁵你要盡心、盡性、盡力愛耶和華─你的　神。And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.

⁶我今日所吩咐你的話都要記在心上，These words I am commanding you today are to be upon your hearts.

⁷也要殷勤教訓你的兒女。無論你坐在家裡，行在路上，躺下，起來，都要談論。And you shall teach them diligently to your children and speak of them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.

⁸也要繫在手上為記號，戴在額上為經文；Tie them as reminders on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.

⁹又要寫在你房屋的門框上，並你的城門上。」Write them on the doorposts of your houses and on your gates.

吃飽了，不可忘記神

¹⁰「耶和華─你的　神領你進他向你列祖亞伯拉罕、以撒、雅各起誓應許給你的地。那裡有城邑，又大又美，非你所建造的；And when the LORD your God brings you into the land He swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, that He would give you—a land with great and splendid cities that you did not build,

¹¹有房屋，裝滿各樣美物，非你所裝滿的；有鑿成的水井，非你所鑿成的；還有葡萄園、橄欖園，非你所栽種的；你吃了而且飽足。with houses full of every good thing with which you did not fill them, with wells that you did not dig, and with vineyards and olive groves that you did not plant—and when you eat and are satisfied,

¹²那時你要謹慎，免得你忘記將你從埃及地、為奴之家領出來的耶和華。be careful not to forget the LORD who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.

¹³你要敬畏耶和華─你的　神，事奉他，指著他的名起誓。Fear the LORD your God, serve Him only, and take your oaths in His name.

¹⁴不可隨從別神，就是你們四圍國民的神；Do not follow other gods, the gods of the peoples around you.

¹⁵因為在你們中間的耶和華─你　神是忌邪的　神，惟恐耶和華─你　神的怒氣向你發作，就把你從地上除滅。For the LORD your God, who is among you, is a jealous God. Otherwise the anger of the LORD your God will be kindled against you, and He will wipe you off the face of the earth.

不可試探神

¹⁶「你們不可試探耶和華─你們的　神，像你們在瑪撒那樣試探他。Do not test the LORD your God as you tested Him at Massah.

¹⁷要留意遵守耶和華─你們　神所吩咐的誡命、法度、律例。You are to diligently keep the commandments of the LORD your God and the testimonies and statutes He has given you.

¹⁸耶和華眼中看為正、看為善的，你都要遵行，使你可以享福，並可以進去得耶和華向你列祖起誓應許的那美地，Do what is right and good in the sight of the LORD, so that it may be well with you and that you may enter and possess the good land that the LORD your God swore to give your fathers,

¹⁹照耶和華所說的，從你面前攆出你的一切仇敵。driving out all your enemies before you, as the LORD has said.

當兒子問起的時候

²⁰「日後，你的兒子問你說：『耶和華─我們　神吩咐你們的這些法度、律例、典章是甚麼意思呢？』In the future, when your son asks, “What is the meaning of the decrees and statutes and ordinances that the LORD our God has commanded you?”

²¹你就告訴你的兒子說：『我們在埃及作過法老的奴僕；耶和華用大能的手將我們從埃及領出來，then you are to tell him, “We were slaves of Pharaoh in Egypt, but the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand.

²²在我們眼前，將重大可怕的神蹟奇事施行在埃及地和法老並他全家的身上，Before our eyes the LORD inflicted great and devastating signs and wonders on Egypt, on Pharaoh, and on all his household.

²³將我們從那裡領出來，要領我們進入他向我們列祖起誓應許之地，把這地賜給我們。But He brought us out from there to lead us in and give us the land that He had sworn to our fathers.

²⁴耶和華又吩咐我們遵行這一切律例，要敬畏耶和華─我們的　神，使我們常得好處，蒙他保全我們的生命，像今日一樣。And the LORD commanded us to observe all these statutes and to fear the LORD our God, that we may always be prosperous and preserved, as we are to this day.

²⁵我們若照耶和華─我們　神所吩咐的一切誡命謹守遵行，這就是我們的義了。』」And if we are careful to observe every one of these commandments before the LORD our God, as He has commanded us, then that will be our righteousness.”

不可與七族立約、結親

¹「耶和華─你　神領你進入要得為業之地，從你面前趕出許多國民，就是赫人、革迦撒人、亞摩利人、迦南人、比利洗人、希未人、耶布斯人，共七國的民，都比你強大。When the LORD your God brings you into the land that you are entering to possess, and He drives out before you many nations—the Hittites, Girgashites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites, seven nations larger and stronger than you—

²耶和華─你　神將他們交給你擊殺，那時你要把他們滅絕淨盡，不可與他們立約，也不可憐恤他們。and when the LORD your God has delivered them over to you to defeat them, then you must devote them to complete destruction. Make no treaty with them and show them no mercy.

³不可與他們結親。不可將你的女兒嫁他們的兒子，也不可叫你的兒子娶他們的女兒；Do not intermarry with them. Do not give your daughters to their sons or take their daughters for your sons,

⁴因為他必使你兒子轉離不跟從主，去事奉別神，以致耶和華的怒氣向你們發作，就速速地將你們滅絕。because they will turn your sons away from following Me to serve other gods. Then the anger of the LORD will burn against you, and He will swiftly destroy you.

⁵你們卻要這樣待他們：拆毀他們的祭壇，打碎他們的柱像，砍下他們的木偶，用火焚燒他們雕刻的偶像。Instead, this is what you are to do to them: tear down their altars, smash their sacred pillars, cut down their Asherah poles, and burn their idols in the fire.

神揀選你，只因愛你

⁶因為你歸耶和華─你　神為聖潔的民；耶和華─你　神從地上的萬民中揀選你，特作自己的子民。For you are a people holy to the LORD your God. The LORD your God has chosen you to be a people for His prized possession out of all peoples on the face of the earth.

⁷「耶和華專愛你們，揀選你們，並非因你們的人數多於別民，原來你們的人數在萬民中是最少的。The LORD did not set His affection on you and choose you because you were more numerous than the other peoples, for you were the fewest of all peoples.

⁸只因耶和華愛你們，又因要守他向你們列祖所起的誓，就用大能的手領你們出來，從為奴之家救贖你們脫離埃及王法老的手。But because the LORD loved you and kept the oath He swore to your fathers, He brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you from the house of slavery, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

寫給提阿非羅的序言

^1–2提阿非羅大人哪，有好些人提筆作書，述說在我們中間所成就的事，是照傳道的人從起初親眼看見又傳給我們的。Many have undertaken to compose an account of the things that have been fulfilled among us, just as they were handed down to us by the initial eyewitnesses and servants of the word.

³這些事我既從起頭都詳細考察了，就定意要按著次序寫給你，Therefore, having carefully investigated everything from the beginning, it seemed good also to me to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus,

⁴使你知道所學之道都是確實的。so that you may know the certainty of the things you have been taught.

撒迦利亞和伊利莎白

⁵當猶太王希律的時候，亞比雅班裡有一個祭司，名叫撒迦利亞；他妻子是亞倫的後人，名叫伊利莎白。In the time of Herod king of Judea there was a priest named Zechariah, who belonged to the priestly division of Abijah, and whose wife Elizabeth was a descendant of Aaron.

⁶他們二人在　神面前都是義人，遵行主的一切誡命禮儀，沒有可指摘的，Both of them were righteous in the sight of God, walking blamelessly in all the commandments and decrees of the Lord.

⁷只是沒有孩子；因為伊利莎白不生育，兩個人又年紀老邁了。But they had no children, because Elizabeth was barren, and they were both well along in years.

天使在聖殿向撒迦利亞顯現

⁸撒迦利亞按班次在　神面前供祭司的職分，One day while Zechariah’s division was on duty and he was serving as priest before God,

⁹照祭司的規矩掣籤，得進主殿燒香。he was chosen by lot, according to the custom of the priesthood, to enter the temple of the Lord and burn incense.

¹⁰燒香的時候，眾百姓在外面禱告。And at the hour of the incense offering, the whole congregation was praying outside.

¹¹有主的使者站在香壇的右邊，向他顯現。Just then an angel of the Lord appeared to Zechariah, standing at the right side of the altar of incense.

¹²撒迦利亞看見，就驚慌害怕。When Zechariah saw him, he was startled and gripped with fear.

¹³天使對他說：「撒迦利亞，不要害怕，因為你的祈禱已經被聽見了。你的妻子伊利莎白要給你生一個兒子，你要給他起名叫約翰。But the angel said to him, “Do not be afraid, Zechariah, because your prayer has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you are to give him the name John.

¹⁴你必歡喜快樂；有許多人因他出世，也必喜樂。He will be a joy and delight to you, and many will rejoice at his birth,

¹⁵他在主面前將要為大，淡酒濃酒都不喝，從母腹裡就被聖靈充滿了。for he will be great in the sight of the Lord. He shall never take wine or strong drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit even from his mother’s womb.

¹⁶他要使許多以色列人回轉，歸於主─他們的　神。Many of the sons of Israel he will turn back to the Lord their God.

¹⁷他必有以利亞的心志能力，行在主的前面，叫為父的心轉向兒女，叫悖逆的人轉從義人的智慧，又為主預備合用的百姓。」And he will go on before the Lord in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous—to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.”

撒迦利亞不信，成了啞巴

¹⁸撒迦利亞對天使說：「我憑著甚麼可知道這事呢？我已經老了，我的妻子也年紀老邁了。」“How can I be sure of this?” Zechariah asked the angel. “I am an old man, and my wife is well along in years.”

¹⁹天使回答說：「我是站在　神面前的加百列，奉差而來對你說話，將這好信息報給你。“I am Gabriel,” replied the angel. “I stand in the presence of God, and I have been sent to speak to you and to bring you this good news.

²⁰到了時候，這話必然應驗；只因你不信，你必啞巴，不能說話，直到這事成就的日子。」And now you will be silent and unable to speak until the day this comes to pass, because you did not believe my words, which will be fulfilled at their proper time.”

²¹百姓等候撒迦利亞，詫異他許久在殿裡。Meanwhile, the people were waiting for Zechariah and wondering why he took so long in the temple.

²²及至他出來，不能和他們說話，他們就知道他在殿裡見了異象；因為他直向他們打手式，竟成了啞巴。When he came out and was unable to speak to them, they realized he had seen a vision in the temple. He kept making signs to them but remained unable to speak.

²³他供職的日子已滿，就回家去了。And when the days of his service were complete, he returned home.

伊利莎白懷孕

²⁴這些日子以後，他的妻子伊利莎白懷了孕，就隱藏了五個月，After these days, his wife Elizabeth became pregnant and for five months remained in seclusion. She declared,

²⁵說：「主在眷顧我的日子，這樣看待我，要把我在人間的羞恥除掉。」“The Lord has done this for me. In these days He has shown me favor and taken away my disgrace among the people.”
