雅各偏愛約瑟

¹雅各住在迦南地，就是他父親寄居的地。Now Jacob lived in the land where his father had resided, the land of Canaan.

²雅各的記略如下。約瑟十七歲與他哥哥們一同牧羊。他是個童子，與他父親的妾辟拉、悉帕的兒子們常在一處。約瑟將他哥哥們的惡行報給他們的父親。This is the account of Jacob. When Joseph was seventeen years old, he was tending the flock with his brothers, the sons of his father’s wives Bilhah and Zilpah, and he brought their father a bad report about them.

³以色列原來愛約瑟過於愛他的眾子，因為約瑟是他年老生的；他給約瑟做了一件彩衣。Now Israel loved Joseph more than his other sons, because Joseph had been born to him in his old age; so he made him a robe of many colors.

⁴約瑟的哥哥們見父親愛約瑟過於愛他們，就恨約瑟，不與他說和睦的話。When Joseph’s brothers saw that their father loved him more than any of them, they hated him and could not speak a kind word to him.

約瑟的兩個夢

⁵約瑟做了一夢，告訴他哥哥們，他們就越發恨他。Then Joseph had a dream, and when he told it to his brothers, they hated him even more.

⁶約瑟對他們說：「請聽我所做的夢：He said to them, “Listen to this dream I had:

⁷我們在田裡捆禾稼，我的捆起來站著，你們的捆來圍著我的捆下拜。」We were binding sheaves of grain in the field, and suddenly my sheaf rose and stood upright, while your sheaves gathered around and bowed down to mine.”

⁸他的哥哥們回答說：「難道你真要作我們的王嗎？難道你真要管轄我們嗎？」他們就因為他的夢和他的話越發恨他。“Do you intend to reign over us?” his brothers asked. “Will you actually rule us?” So they hated him even more because of his dream and his statements.

⁹後來他又做了一夢，也告訴他的哥哥們說：「看哪，我又做了一夢，夢見太陽、月亮，與十一個星向我下拜。」Then Joseph had another dream and told it to his brothers. “Look,” he said, “I had another dream, and this time the sun and moon and eleven stars were bowing down to me.”

¹⁰約瑟將這夢告訴他父親和他哥哥們，他父親就責備他說：「你做的這是甚麼夢！難道我和你母親、你弟兄果然要來俯伏在地，向你下拜嗎？」He told his father and brothers, but his father rebuked him and said, “What is this dream that you have had? Will your mother and brothers and I actually come and bow down to the ground before you?”

¹¹他哥哥們都嫉妒他，他父親卻把這話存在心裡。And his brothers were jealous of him, but his father kept in mind what he had said.

約瑟去找哥哥們

¹²約瑟的哥哥們往示劍去放他們父親的羊。Some time later, Joseph’s brothers had gone to pasture their father’s flocks near Shechem.

¹³以色列對約瑟說：「你哥哥們不是在示劍放羊嗎？你來，我要打發你往他們那裡去。」約瑟說：「我在這裡。」Israel said to him, “Are not your brothers pasturing the flocks at Shechem? Get ready; I am sending you to them.” “I am ready,” Joseph replied.

¹⁴以色列說：「你去看看你哥哥們平安不平安，群羊平安不平安，就回來報信給我。」於是打發他出希伯崙谷，他就往示劍去了。Then Israel told him, “Go now and see how your brothers and the flocks are faring, and bring word back to me.” So he sent him off from the Valley of Hebron. And when Joseph arrived in Shechem,

¹⁵有人遇見他在田野走迷了路，就問他說：「你找甚麼？」a man found him wandering in the field and asked, “What are you looking for?”

¹⁶他說：「我找我的哥哥們，求你告訴我，他們在何處放羊。」“I am looking for my brothers,” Joseph replied. “Can you please tell me where they are pasturing their flocks?”

¹⁷那人說：「他們已經走了，我聽見他們說要往多坍去。」約瑟就去追趕他哥哥們，遇見他們在多坍。“They have moved on from here,” the man answered. “I heard them say, ‘Let us go to Dothan.’” So Joseph set out after his brothers and found them at Dothan.

哥哥們同謀害約瑟

¹⁸他們遠遠地看見他，趁他還沒有走到跟前，大家就同謀要害死他，Now Joseph’s brothers saw him in the distance, and before he arrived, they plotted to kill him.

¹⁹彼此說：「你看！那做夢的來了。“Here comes that dreamer!” they said to one another.

²⁰來吧！我們將他殺了，丟在一個坑裡，就說有惡獸把他吃了。我們且看他的夢將來怎麼樣。」“Come now, let us kill him and throw him into one of the pits. We can say that a vicious animal has devoured him. Then we shall see what becomes of his dreams!”

²¹流便聽見了，要救他脫離他們的手，說：「我們不可害他的性命」；When Reuben heard this, he tried to rescue Joseph from their hands. “Let us not take his life,” he said.

²²又說：「不可流他的血，可以把他丟在這野地的坑裡，不可下手害他。」流便的意思是要救他脫離他們的手，把他歸還他的父親。“Do not shed his blood. Throw him into this pit in the wilderness, but do not lay a hand on him.” Reuben said this so that he could rescue Joseph from their hands and return him to his father.

²³約瑟到了他哥哥們那裡，他們就剝了他的外衣，就是他穿的那件彩衣，So when Joseph came to his brothers, they stripped him of his robe—the robe of many colors he was wearing—

²⁴把他丟在坑裡；那坑是空的，裡頭沒有水。and they took him and threw him into the pit. Now the pit was empty, with no water in it.

約瑟被賣到埃及

²⁵他們坐下吃飯，舉目觀看，見有一夥米甸的以實瑪利人從基列來，用駱駝馱著香料、乳香、沒藥，要帶下埃及去。And as they sat down to eat a meal, they looked up and saw a caravan of Ishmaelites coming from Gilead. Their camels were carrying spices, balm, and myrrh on their way down to Egypt.

²⁶猶大對眾弟兄說：「我們殺我們的兄弟，藏了他的血有甚麼益處呢？Then Judah said to his brothers, “What profit will we gain if we kill our brother and cover up his blood?

²⁷我們不如將他賣給以實瑪利人，不可下手害他；因為他是我們的兄弟，我們的骨肉。」眾弟兄就聽從了他。Come, let us sell him to the Ishmaelites and not lay a hand on him; for he is our brother, our own flesh.” And they agreed.

²⁸有些米甸的商人從那裡經過，哥哥們就把約瑟從坑裡拉上來，講定二十舍客勒銀子，把約瑟賣給以實瑪利人。他們就把約瑟帶到埃及去了。So when the Midianite traders passed by, his brothers pulled Joseph out of the pit and sold him for twenty shekels of silver to the Ishmaelites, who took him to Egypt.

流便回到坑邊；雅各為約瑟悲哀

²⁹流便回到坑邊，見約瑟不在坑裡，就撕裂衣服，When Reuben returned to the pit and saw that Joseph was not there, he tore his clothes,

³⁰回到兄弟們那裡，說：「童子沒有了。我往哪裡去才好呢？」returned to his brothers, and said, “The boy is gone! What am I going to do?”

³¹他們宰了一隻公山羊，把約瑟的那件彩衣染了血，Then they took Joseph’s robe, slaughtered a young goat, and dipped the robe in its blood.

³²打發人送到他們的父親那裡，說：「我們撿了這個；請認一認是你兒子的外衣不是？」They sent the robe of many colors to their father and said, “We found this. Examine it to see whether it is your son’s robe or not.”

³³他認得，就說：「這是我兒子的外衣。有惡獸把他吃了，約瑟被撕碎了！撕碎了！」His father recognized it and said, “It is my son’s robe! A vicious animal has devoured him. Joseph has surely been torn to pieces!”

³⁴雅各便撕裂衣服，腰間圍上麻布，為他兒子悲哀了多日。Then Jacob tore his clothes, put sackcloth around his waist, and mourned for his son many days.

³⁵他的兒女都起來安慰他，他卻不肯受安慰，說：「我必悲哀著下陰間，到我兒子那裡。」約瑟的父親就為他哀哭。All his sons and daughters tried to comfort him, but he refused to be comforted. “No,” he said. “I will go down to Sheol mourning for my son.” So his father wept for him.

³⁶米甸人帶約瑟到埃及，把他賣給法老的內臣─護衛長波提乏。Meanwhile, the Midianites sold Joseph in Egypt to Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh and captain of the guard.

猶大娶妻生子

¹那時，猶大離開他弟兄下去，到一個亞杜蘭人名叫希拉的家裡去。About that time, Judah left his brothers and settled near a man named Hirah, an Adullamite.

²猶大在那裡看見一個迦南人名叫書亞的女兒，就娶她為妻，與她同房，There Judah saw the daughter of a Canaanite man named Shua, and he took her as a wife and slept with her.

³她就懷孕生了兒子，猶大給他起名叫珥。So she conceived and gave birth to a son, and Judah named him Er.

⁴她又懷孕生了兒子，母親給他起名叫俄南。Again she conceived and gave birth to a son, and she named him Onan.

⁵她復又生了兒子，給他起名叫示拉。她生示拉的時候，猶大正在基悉。Then she gave birth to another son and named him Shelah; it was at Chezib that she gave birth to him.

她瑪兩次守寡

⁶猶大為長子珥娶妻，名叫她瑪。Now Judah acquired a wife for Er, his firstborn, and her name was Tamar.

⁷猶大的長子珥在耶和華眼中看為惡，耶和華就叫他死了。But Er, Judah’s firstborn, was wicked in the sight of the LORD; so the LORD put him to death.

⁸猶大對俄南說：「你當與你哥哥的妻子同房，向她盡你為弟的本分，為你哥哥生子立後。」Then Judah said to Onan, “Sleep with your brother’s wife. Perform your duty as her brother-in-law and raise up offspring for your brother.”

⁹俄南知道生子不歸自己，所以同房的時候便遺在地，免得給他哥哥留後。But Onan knew that the offspring would not belong to him; so whenever he would sleep with his brother’s wife, he would spill his seed on the ground so that he would not produce offspring for his brother.

¹⁰俄南所做的在耶和華眼中看為惡，耶和華也就叫他死了。What he did was wicked in the sight of the LORD, so He put Onan to death as well.

¹¹猶大心裡說：「恐怕示拉也死，像他兩個哥哥一樣」，就對他兒婦她瑪說：「你去，在你父親家裡守寡，等我兒子示拉長大。」她瑪就回去，住在她父親家裡。Then Judah said to his daughter-in-law Tamar, “Live as a widow in your father’s house until my son Shelah grows up.” For he thought, “He may die too, like his brothers.” So Tamar went to live in her father’s house.

她瑪假扮妓女

¹²過了許久，猶大的妻子書亞的女兒死了。猶大得了安慰，就和他朋友亞杜蘭人希拉上亭拿去，到他剪羊毛的人那裡。After a long time Judah’s wife, the daughter of Shua, died. When Judah had finished mourning, he and his friend Hirah the Adullamite went up to his sheepshearers at Timnah.

¹³有人告訴她瑪說：「你的公公上亭拿剪羊毛去了。」When Tamar was told, “Your father-in-law is going up to Timnah to shear his sheep,”

¹⁴她瑪見示拉已經長大，還沒有娶她為妻，就脫了她作寡婦的衣裳，用帕子蒙著臉，又遮住身體，坐在亭拿路上的伊拿印城門口。she removed her widow’s garments, covered her face with a veil to disguise herself, and sat at the entrance to Enaim, which is on the way to Timnah. For she saw that although Shelah had grown up, she had not been given to him as a wife.

¹⁵猶大看見她，以為是妓女，因為她蒙著臉。When Judah saw her, he thought she was a prostitute because she had covered her face.

¹⁶猶大就轉到她那裡去，說：「來吧！讓我與你同寢。」他原不知道是他的兒婦。她瑪說：「你要與我同寢，把甚麼給我呢？」Not realizing that she was his daughter-in-law, he went over to her and said, “Come now, let me sleep with you.” “What will you give me for sleeping with you?” she inquired.

¹⁷猶大說：「我從羊群裡取一隻山羊羔，打發人送來給你。」她瑪說：「在未送以先，你願意給我一個當頭嗎？」“I will send you a young goat from my flock,” Judah answered. But she replied, “Only if you leave me something as a pledge until you send it.”

¹⁸他說：「我給你甚麼當頭呢？」她瑪說：「你的印、你的帶子，和你手裡的杖。」猶大就給了她，與她同寢，她就從猶大懷了孕。“What pledge should I give you?” he asked. She answered, “Your seal and your cord, and the staff in your hand.” So he gave them to her and slept with her, and she became pregnant by him.

¹⁹她瑪起來走了，除去帕子，仍舊穿上作寡婦的衣裳。Then Tamar got up and departed. And she removed her veil and put on her widow’s garments again.

²⁰猶大託他朋友亞杜蘭人送一隻山羊羔去，要從那女人手裡取回當頭來，卻找不著她，Now when Judah sent his friend Hirah the Adullamite with the young goat to collect the items he had left with the woman, he could not find her.

²¹就問那地方的人說：「伊拿印路旁的妓女在哪裡？」他們說：「這裡並沒有妓女。」He asked the men of that place, “Where is the shrine prostitute who was beside the road at Enaim?” “No shrine prostitute has been here,” they answered.

²²他回去見猶大說：「我沒有找著她，並且那地方的人說：『這裡沒有妓女。』」So Hirah returned to Judah and said, “I could not find her, and furthermore, the men of that place said, ‘No shrine prostitute has been here.’”

²³猶大說：「我把這山羊羔送去了，你竟找不著她。任憑她拿去吧，免得我們被羞辱。」“Let her keep the items,” Judah replied. “Otherwise we will become a laughingstock. After all, I did send her this young goat, but you could not find her.”

猶大承認她瑪比他更有義

²⁴約過了三個月，有人告訴猶大說：「你的兒婦她瑪作了妓女，且因行淫有了身孕。」猶大說：「拉出她來，把她燒了！」About three months later, Judah was told, “Your daughter-in-law Tamar has prostituted herself, and now she is pregnant.” “Bring her out!” Judah replied. “Let her be burned to death!”

²⁵她瑪被拉出來的時候便打發人去見她公公，對他說：「這些東西是誰的，我就是從誰懷的孕。請你認一認，這印和帶子並杖都是誰的？」As she was being brought out, Tamar sent a message to her father-in-law: “I am pregnant by the man to whom these items belong.” And she added, “Please examine them. Whose seal and cord and staff are these?”

²⁶猶大承認說：「她比我更有義，因為我沒有將她給我的兒子示拉。」從此猶大不再與她同寢了。Judah recognized the items and said, “She is more righteous than I, since I did not give her to my son Shelah.” And he did not have relations with her again.

法勒斯和謝拉出生

²⁷她瑪將要生產，不料她腹裡是一對雙生。When the time came for Tamar to give birth, there were twins in her womb.

²⁸到生產的時候，一個孩子伸出一隻手來；收生婆拿紅線拴在他手上，說：「這是頭生的。」And as she was giving birth, one of them put out his hand; so the midwife took a scarlet thread and tied it around his wrist. “This one came out first,” she announced.

²⁹隨後這孩子把手收回去，他哥哥生出來了；收生婆說：「你為甚麼搶著來呢？」因此給他起名叫法勒斯。But when he pulled his hand back and his brother came out, she said, “You have broken out first!” So he was named Perez.

³⁰後來，他兄弟那手上有紅線的也生出來，就給他起名叫謝拉。Then his brother came out with the scarlet thread around his wrist, and he was named Zerah.

醫好又瞎又啞的人

²²當下，有人將一個被鬼附著、又瞎又啞的人帶到耶穌那裡，耶穌就醫治他，甚至那啞巴又能說話，又能看見。Then a demon-possessed man who was blind and mute was brought to Jesus, and He healed the man so that he could speak and see.

²³眾人都驚奇，說：「這不是大衛的子孫嗎？」The crowds were astounded and asked, “Could this be the Son of David?”

說耶穌靠別西卜趕鬼

²⁴但法利賽人聽見，就說：「這個人趕鬼，無非是靠著鬼王別西卜啊。」But when the Pharisees heard this, they said, “Only by Beelzebul, the prince of demons, does this man drive out demons.”

自相紛爭站立不住

²⁵耶穌知道他們的意念，就對他們說：「凡一國自相紛爭，就成為荒場；一城一家自相紛爭，必站立不住；Knowing their thoughts, Jesus said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself will be laid waste, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand.

²⁶若撒但趕逐撒但，就是自相紛爭，他的國怎能站得住呢？If Satan drives out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then can his kingdom stand?

²⁷我若靠著別西卜趕鬼，你們的子弟趕鬼又靠著誰呢？這樣，他們就要斷定你們的是非。And if I drive out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your sons drive them out? So then, they will be your judges.

²⁸我若靠著　神的靈趕鬼，這就是　神的國臨到你們了。But if I drive out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.

先捆住壯士

²⁹人怎能進壯士家裡，搶奪他的家具呢？除非先捆住那壯士，才可以搶奪他的家財。Or again, how can anyone enter a strong man’s house and steal his possessions, unless he first ties up the strong man? Then he can plunder his house.

³⁰不與我相合的，就是敵我的；不同我收聚的，就是分散的。」He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters.

褻瀆聖靈不得赦免

³¹所以我告訴你們：「人一切的罪和褻瀆的話都可得赦免，惟獨褻瀆聖靈，總不得赦免。Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.

³²凡說話干犯人子的，還可得赦免；惟獨說話干犯聖靈的，今世來世總不得赦免。」Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the one to come.

看果子就知道樹

³³「你們或以為樹好，果子也好；樹壞，果子也壞；因為看果子就可以知道樹。Make a tree good and its fruit will be good, or make a tree bad and its fruit will be bad, for a tree is known by its fruit.

³⁴毒蛇的種類！你們既是惡人，怎能說出好話來呢？因為心裡所充滿的，口裡就說出來。You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good? For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks.

³⁵善人從他心裡所存的善就發出善來；惡人從他心裡所存的惡就發出惡來。The good man brings good things out of his good store of treasure, and the evil man brings evil things out of his evil store of treasure.

³⁶我又告訴你們，凡人所說的閒話，當審判的日子，必要句句供出來；But I tell you that men will give an account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken.

³⁷因為要憑你的話定你為義，也要憑你的話定你有罪。」For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.”

約拿的神蹟

³⁸當時，有幾個文士和法利賽人對耶穌說：「夫子，我們願意你顯個神蹟給我們看。」Then some of the scribes and Pharisees said to Him, “Teacher, we want to see a sign from You.”

³⁹耶穌回答說：「一個邪惡淫亂的世代求看神蹟，除了先知約拿的神蹟以外，再沒有神蹟給他們看。Jesus replied, “A wicked and adulterous generation demands a sign, but none will be given it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.

⁴⁰約拿三日三夜在大魚肚腹中，人子也要這樣三日三夜在地裡頭。For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

⁴¹當審判的時候，尼尼微人要起來定這世代的罪，因為尼尼微人聽了約拿所傳的就悔改了。看哪，在這裡有一人比約拿更大！The men of Nineveh will stand at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and now One greater than Jonah is here.

⁴²當審判的時候，南方的女王要起來定這世代的罪，因為她從地極而來，要聽所羅門的智慧話。看哪，在這裡有一人比所羅門更大。」The Queen of the South will rise at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and now One greater than Solomon is here.

污鬼回到空屋

⁴³「污鬼離了人身，就在無水之地過來過去，尋求安歇之處，卻尋不著。When an unclean spirit comes out of a man, it passes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it.

⁴⁴於是說：『我要回到我所出來的屋裡去。』到了，就看見裡面空閒，打掃乾淨，修飾好了，Then it says, ‘I will return to the house I left.’ On its return, it finds the house vacant, swept clean, and put in order.

⁴⁵便去另帶了七個比自己更惡的鬼來，都進去住在那裡。那人末後的景況比先前更不好了。這邪惡的世代也要如此。」Then it goes and brings with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and dwell there. And the final plight of that man is worse than the first. So will it be with this wicked generation.”

誰是我的母親、我的弟兄

⁴⁶耶穌還對眾人說話的時候，不料他母親和他弟兄站在外邊，要與他說話。While Jesus was still speaking to the crowds, His mother and brothers stood outside, wanting to speak to Him.

⁴⁷有人告訴他說：「看哪，你母親和你弟兄站在外邊，要與你說話。」Someone told Him, “Look, Your mother and brothers are standing outside, wanting to speak to You.”

⁴⁸他卻回答那人說：「誰是我的母親？誰是我的弟兄？」But Jesus replied, “Who is My mother, and who are My brothers?”

⁴⁹就伸手指著門徒，說：「看哪，我的母親，我的弟兄。Pointing to His disciples, He said, “Here are My mother and My brothers.

⁵⁰凡遵行我天父旨意的人，就是我的弟兄姊妹和母親了。」For whoever does the will of My Father in heaven is My brother and sister and mother.”
