以掃回來，福分已被奪去

³⁰以撒為雅各祝福已畢，雅各從他父親那裡才出來，他哥哥以掃正打獵回來，As soon as Isaac had finished blessing him and Jacob had left his father’s presence, his brother Esau returned from the hunt.

³¹也做了美味，拿來給他父親，說：「請父親起來，吃你兒子的野味，好給我祝福。」He too made some tasty food, brought it to his father, and said to him, “My father, sit up and eat of your son’s game, so that you may bless me.”

³²他父親以撒對他說：「你是誰？」他說：「我是你的長子以掃。」But his father Isaac replied, “Who are you?” “I am Esau, your firstborn son,” he answered.

³³以撒就大大地戰兢，說：「你未來之先，是誰得了野味拿來給我呢？我已經吃了，為他祝福；他將來也必蒙福。」Isaac began to tremble violently and said, “Who was it, then, who hunted the game and brought it to me? Before you came in, I ate it all and blessed him—and indeed, he will be blessed!”

³⁴以掃聽了他父親的話，就放聲痛哭，說：「我父啊，求你也為我祝福！」When Esau heard his father’s words, he let out a loud and bitter cry and said to his father, “Bless me too, O my father!”

³⁵以撒說：「你兄弟已經用詭計來將你的福分奪去了。」But Isaac replied, “Your brother came deceitfully and took your blessing.”

³⁶以掃說：「他名雅各，豈不是正對嗎？因為他欺騙了我兩次：他從前奪了我長子的名分，你看，他現在又奪了我的福分。」以掃又說：「你沒有留下為我可祝的福嗎？」So Esau declared, “Is he not rightly named Jacob? For he has cheated me twice. He took my birthright, and now he has taken my blessing.” Then he asked, “Haven’t you saved a blessing for me?”

³⁷以撒回答以掃說：「我已立他為你的主，使他的弟兄都給他作僕人，並賜他五穀新酒可以養生。我兒，現在我還能為你做甚麼呢？」But Isaac answered Esau: “Look, I have made him your master and given him all his relatives as servants; I have sustained him with grain and new wine. What is left that I can do for you, my son?”

³⁸以掃對他父親說：「父啊，你只有一樣可祝的福嗎？我父啊，求你也為我祝福！」以掃就放聲而哭。Esau said to his father, “Do you have only one blessing, my father? Bless me too, O my father!” Then Esau wept aloud.

³⁹他父親以撒說：地上的肥土必為你所住；天上的甘露必為你所得。His father Isaac answered him: “Behold, your dwelling place shall be away from the richness of the land, away from the dew of heaven above.

⁴⁰你必倚靠刀劍度日，又必事奉你的兄弟；到你強盛的時候，必從你頸項上掙開他的軛。You shall live by the sword and serve your brother. But when you rebel, you will tear his yoke from your neck.”

以掃要殺雅各

⁴¹以掃因他父親給雅各祝的福，就怨恨雅各，心裡說：「為我父親居喪的日子近了，到那時候，我要殺我的兄弟雅各。」Esau held a grudge against Jacob because of the blessing his father had given him. And Esau said in his heart, “The days of mourning for my father are at hand; then I will kill my brother Jacob.”

⁴²有人把利百加大兒子以掃的話告訴利百加，她就打發人去，叫了她小兒子雅各來，對他說：「你哥哥以掃想要殺你，報仇雪恨。When the words of her older son Esau were relayed to Rebekah, she sent for her younger son Jacob and told him, “Look, your brother Esau is consoling himself by plotting to kill you.

⁴³現在，我兒，你要聽我的話：起來，逃往哈蘭、我哥哥拉班那裡去，So now, my son, obey my voice and flee at once to my brother Laban in Haran.

⁴⁴同他住些日子，直等你哥哥的怒氣消了。Stay with him for a while, until your brother’s fury subsides—

⁴⁵你哥哥向你消了怒氣，忘了你向他所做的事，我便打發人去把你從那裡帶回來。為甚麼一日喪你們二人呢？」until your brother’s rage against you wanes and he forgets what you have done to him. Then I will send for you and bring you back from there. Why should I lose both of you in one day?”

利百加的對策

⁴⁶利百加對以撒說：「我因這赫人的女子連性命都厭煩了；倘若雅各也娶赫人的女子為妻，像這些一樣，我活著還有甚麼益處呢？」Then Rebekah said to Isaac, “I am weary of my life because of these Hittite women. If Jacob takes a Hittite wife from among them, what good is my life?”

以撒打發雅各往巴旦‧亞蘭

¹以撒叫了雅各來，給他祝福，並囑咐他說：「你不要娶迦南的女子為妻。So Isaac called for Jacob and blessed him. “Do not take a wife from the Canaanite women,” he commanded.

²你起身往巴旦‧亞蘭去，到你外祖彼土利家裡，在你母舅拉班的女兒中娶一女為妻。“Go at once to Paddan-aram, to the house of your mother’s father Bethuel, and take a wife from among the daughters of Laban, your mother’s brother.

³願全能的　神賜福給你，使你生養眾多，成為多族，May God Almighty bless you and make you fruitful and multiply you, so that you may become a company of peoples.

⁴將應許亞伯拉罕的福賜給你和你的後裔，使你承受你所寄居的地為業，就是　神賜給亞伯拉罕的地。」And may He give the blessing of Abraham to you and your descendants, so that you may possess the land where you dwell as a foreigner, the land God gave to Abraham.”

⁵以撒打發雅各走了，他就往巴旦‧亞蘭去，到亞蘭人彼土利的兒子拉班那裡。拉班是雅各、以掃的母舅。So Isaac sent Jacob to Paddan-aram, to Laban son of Bethuel the Aramean, the brother of Rebekah, who was the mother of Jacob and Esau.

以掃又娶以實瑪利的女兒

⁶以掃見以撒已經給雅各祝福，而且打發他往巴旦‧亞蘭去，在那裡娶妻，並見祝福的時候囑咐他說：「不要娶迦南的女子為妻」，Now Esau learned that Isaac had blessed Jacob and sent him to Paddan-aram to take a wife there, commanding him, “Do not marry a Canaanite woman,”

⁷又見雅各聽從父母的話往巴旦‧亞蘭去了，and that Jacob had obeyed his father and mother and gone to Paddan-aram.

⁸以掃就曉得他父親以撒看不中迦南的女子，And seeing that his father Isaac disapproved of the Canaanite women,

⁹便往以實瑪利那裡去，在他二妻之外又娶了瑪哈拉為妻。她是亞伯拉罕兒子以實瑪利的女兒，尼拜約的妹子。Esau went to Ishmael and married Mahalath, the sister of Nebaioth and daughter of Abraham’s son Ishmael, in addition to the wives he already had.

雅各夢見天梯

¹⁰雅各出了別是巴，向哈蘭走去；Meanwhile Jacob left Beersheba and set out for Haran.

¹¹到了一個地方，因為太陽落了，就在那裡住宿，便拾起那地方的一塊石頭枕在頭下，在那裡躺臥睡了，On reaching a certain place, he spent the night there because the sun had set. And taking one of the stones from that place, he put it under his head and lay down to sleep.

¹²夢見一個梯子立在地上，梯子的頭頂著天，有　神的使者在梯子上，上去下來。And Jacob had a dream about a ladder that rested on the earth with its top reaching up to heaven, and God’s angels were going up and down the ladder.

¹³耶和華站在梯子以上（或譯：站在他旁邊），說：「我是耶和華─你祖亞伯拉罕的　神，也是以撒的　神；我要將你現在所躺臥之地賜給你和你的後裔。And there at the top the LORD was standing and saying, “I am the LORD, the God of your father Abraham and the God of Isaac. I will give you and your descendants the land on which you now lie.

¹⁴你的後裔必像地上的塵沙那樣多，必向東西南北開展；地上萬族必因你和你的後裔得福。Your descendants will be like the dust of the earth, and you will spread out to the west and east and north and south. All the families of the earth will be blessed through you and your offspring.

這是神的殿，天的門

¹⁶雅各睡醒了，說：「耶和華真在這裡，我竟不知道！」When Jacob woke up, he said, “Surely the LORD is in this place, and I was unaware of it.”

¹⁷就懼怕，說：「這地方何等可畏！這不是別的，乃是　神的殿，也是天的門。」And he was afraid and said, “How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God; this is the gate of heaven!”

¹⁸雅各清早起來，把所枕的石頭立作柱子，澆油在上面。Early the next morning, Jacob took the stone that he had placed under his head, and he set it up as a pillar. He poured oil on top of it,

¹⁹他就給那地方起名叫伯特利（就是　神殿的意思）；但那地方起先名叫路斯。and he called that place Bethel, though previously the city had been named Luz.

雅各許願

²⁰雅各許願說：「　神若與我同在，在我所行的路上保佑我，又給我食物吃，衣服穿，Then Jacob made a vow, saying, “If God will be with me and watch over me on this journey, and if He will provide me with food to eat and clothes to wear,

²¹使我平平安安地回到我父親的家，我就必以耶和華為我的　神。so that I may return safely to my father’s house, then the LORD will be my God.

²²我所立為柱子的石頭也必作　神的殿；凡你所賜給我的，我必將十分之一獻給你。」And this stone I have set up as a pillar will be God’s house, and of all that You give me I will surely give You a tenth.”

井旁遇見拉結

¹雅各起行，到了東方人之地，Jacob resumed his journey and came to the land of the people of the east.

²看見田間有一口井，有三群羊臥在井旁；因為人飲羊群都是用那井裡的水。井口上的石頭是大的。He looked and saw a well in the field, and near it lay three flocks of sheep, because the sheep were watered from this well. And a large stone covered the mouth of the well.

³常有羊群在那裡聚集，牧人把石頭轉離井口飲羊，隨後又把石頭放在井口的原處。When all the flocks had been gathered there, the shepherds would roll away the stone from the mouth of the well and water the sheep. Then they would return the stone to its place over the mouth of the well.

⁴雅各對牧人說：「弟兄們，你們是哪裡來的？」他們說：「我們是哈蘭來的。」“My brothers,” Jacob asked the shepherds, “where are you from?” “We are from Haran,” they answered.

⁵他問他們說：「拿鶴的孫子拉班，你們認識嗎？」他們說：「我們認識。」“Do you know Laban the grandson of Nahor?” Jacob asked. “We know him,” they replied.

⁶雅各說：「他平安嗎？」他們說：「平安。看哪，他女兒拉結領著羊來了。」“Is he well?” Jacob inquired. “Yes,” they answered, “and here comes his daughter Rachel with his sheep.”

⁷雅各說：「日頭還高，不是羊群聚集的時候，你們不如飲羊，再去放一放。」“Look,” said Jacob, “it is still broad daylight; it is not yet time to gather the livestock. Water the sheep and take them back to pasture.”

⁸他們說：「我們不能，必等羊群聚齊，人把石頭轉離井口才可飲羊。」But they replied, “We cannot, until all the flocks have been gathered and the stone has been rolled away from the mouth of the well. Then we will water the sheep.”

⁹雅各正和他們說話的時候，拉結領著她父親的羊來了，因為那些羊是她牧放的。While he was still speaking with them, Rachel arrived with her father’s sheep, for she was a shepherdess.

¹⁰雅各看見母舅拉班的女兒拉結和母舅拉班的羊群，就上前把石頭轉離井口，飲他母舅拉班的羊群。As soon as Jacob saw Rachel, the daughter of his mother’s brother Laban, with Laban’s sheep, he went up and rolled the stone away from the mouth of the well and watered his uncle’s sheep.

¹¹雅各與拉結親嘴，就放聲而哭。Then Jacob kissed Rachel and wept aloud.

¹²雅各告訴拉結，自己是她父親的外甥，是利百加的兒子，拉結就跑去告訴她父親。He told Rachel that he was Rebekah’s son, a relative of her father, and she ran and told her father.

拉班接待雅各

¹³拉班聽見外甥雅各的信息，就跑去迎接，抱著他，與他親嘴，領他到自己的家。雅各將一切的情由告訴拉班。When Laban heard the news about his sister’s son Jacob, he ran out to meet him. He embraced him and kissed him and brought him to his home, where Jacob told him all that had happened.

¹⁴拉班對他說：「你實在是我的骨肉。」雅各就和他同住了一個月。Then Laban declared, “You are indeed my own flesh and blood.” After Jacob had stayed with him a month,

為拉結服事七年

¹⁵拉班對雅各說：「你雖是我的骨肉（原文是弟兄），豈可白白地服事我？請告訴我，你要甚麼為工價？」Laban said to him, “Just because you are my relative, should you work for nothing? Tell me what your wages should be.”

¹⁶拉班有兩個女兒，大的名叫利亞，小的名叫拉結。Now Laban had two daughters; the older was named Leah, and the younger was named Rachel.

¹⁷利亞的眼睛沒有神氣，拉結卻生得美貌俊秀。Leah had weak eyes, but Rachel was shapely and beautiful.

¹⁸雅各愛拉結，就說：「我願為你小女兒拉結服事你七年。」Since Jacob loved Rachel, he answered, “I will serve you seven years for your younger daughter Rachel.”

¹⁹拉班說：「我把她給你，勝似給別人，你與我同住吧！」Laban replied, “Better that I give her to you than to another. Stay here with me.”

²⁰雅各就為拉結服事了七年；他因為深愛拉結，就看這七年如同幾天。So Jacob served seven years for Rachel, yet it seemed but a few days because of his love for her.

拉班用利亞掉包

²¹雅各對拉班說：「日期已經滿了，求你把我的妻子給我，我好與她同房。」Finally Jacob said to Laban, “Grant me my wife, for my time is complete, and I want to sleep with her.”

²²拉班就擺設筵席，請齊了那地方的眾人。So Laban invited all the men of that place and prepared a feast.

²³到晚上，拉班將女兒利亞送來給雅各，雅各就與她同房。But when evening came, Laban took his daughter Leah and gave her to Jacob, and he slept with her.

²⁴拉班又將婢女悉帕給女兒利亞作使女。And Laban gave his servant girl Zilpah to his daughter Leah as her maidservant.

²⁵到了早晨，雅各一看是利亞，就對拉班說：「你向我做的是甚麼事呢？我服事你，不是為拉結嗎？你為甚麼欺哄我呢？」When morning came, there was Leah! “What have you done to me?” Jacob said to Laban. “Wasn’t it for Rachel that I served you? Why have you deceived me?”

²⁶拉班說：「大女兒還沒有給人，先把小女兒給人，在我們這地方沒有這規矩。Laban replied, “It is not our custom here to give the younger daughter in marriage before the older.

再服事七年娶拉結

²⁷你為這個滿了七日，我就把那個也給你，你再為她服事我七年。」Finish this week’s celebration, and we will give you the younger one in return for another seven years of work.”

²⁸雅各就如此行。滿了利亞的七日，拉班便將女兒拉結給雅各為妻。And Jacob did just that. He finished the week’s celebration, and Laban gave him his daughter Rachel as his wife.

²⁹拉班又將婢女辟拉給女兒拉結作使女。Laban also gave his servant girl Bilhah to his daughter Rachel as her maidservant.

³⁰雅各也與拉結同房，並且愛拉結勝似愛利亞，於是又服事了拉班七年。Jacob slept with Rachel as well, and indeed, he loved Rachel more than Leah. So he worked for Laban another seven years.

耶穌憐憫群眾：莊稼多，工人少

³⁵耶穌走遍各城各鄉，在會堂裡教訓人，宣講天國的福音，又醫治各樣的病症。Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness.

³⁶他看見許多的人，就憐憫他們；因為他們困苦流離，如同羊沒有牧人一般。When He saw the crowds, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.

³⁷於是對門徒說：「要收的莊稼多，做工的人少。Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.

³⁸所以，你們當求莊稼的主打發工人出去收他的莊稼。」Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into His harvest.”

賜十二門徒權柄

¹耶穌叫了十二個門徒來，給他們權柄，能趕逐污鬼，並醫治各樣的病症。And calling His twelve disciples to Him, Jesus gave them authority over unclean spirits, so that they could drive them out and heal every disease and sickness.

十二使徒的名單

先往以色列家迷失的羊那裡去

⁵耶穌差這十二個人去，吩咐他們說：「外邦人的路，你們不要走；撒馬利亞人的城，你們不要進；These twelve Jesus sent out with the following instructions: “Do not go onto the road of the Gentiles or enter any town of the Samaritans.

⁶寧可往以色列家迷失的羊那裡去。Go rather to the lost sheep of Israel.

不要多帶東西

⁹腰袋裡不要帶金銀銅錢；Do not take along any gold or silver or copper in your belts.

¹⁰行路不要帶口袋；不要帶兩件褂子，也不要帶鞋和柺杖。因為工人得飲食是應當的。Take no bag for the road, or second tunic, or sandals, or staff; for the worker is worthy of his provisions.

接待與不接待的城

¹¹你們無論進哪一城，哪一村，要打聽那裡誰是好人，就住在他家，直住到走的時候。Whatever town or village you enter, find out who is worthy there and stay at his house until you move on.

¹²進他家裡去，要請他的安。As you enter the home, greet its occupants.

¹³那家若配得平安，你們所求的平安就必臨到那家；若不配得，你們所求的平安仍歸你們。If the home is worthy, let your peace rest on it, but if it is not, let your peace return to you.

¹⁴凡不接待你們、不聽你們話的人，你們離開那家，或是那城的時候，就把腳上的塵土跺下去。And if anyone will not welcome you or heed your words, shake the dust off your feet when you leave that home or town.

¹⁵我實在告訴你們，當審判的日子，所多瑪和蛾摩拉所受的，比那城還容易受呢！」Truly I tell you, it will be more bearable for Sodom and Gomorrah on the day of judgment than for that town.
