約拿逃往他施

¹耶和華的話臨到亞米太的兒子約拿，說：Now the word of the LORD came to Jonah son of Amittai, saying,

²「你起來往尼尼微大城去，向其中的居民呼喊，因為他們的惡達到我面前。」“Get up! Go to the great city of Nineveh and preach against it, because its wickedness has come up before Me.”

³約拿卻起來，逃往他施去躲避耶和華；下到約帕，遇見一隻船，要往他施去。他就給了船價，上了船，要與船上的人同往他施去躲避耶和華。Jonah, however, got up to flee to Tarshish, away from the presence of the LORD. He went down to Joppa and found a ship bound for Tarshish. So he paid the fare and went aboard to sail for Tarshish, away from the presence of the LORD.

海中起大風

⁴然而耶和華使海中起大風，海就狂風大作，甚至船幾乎破壞。Then the LORD hurled a great wind upon the sea, and such a violent storm arose that the ship was in danger of breaking apart.

⁵水手便懼怕，各人哀求自己的神。他們將船上的貨物拋在海中，為要使船輕些。約拿已下到底艙，躺臥沉睡。The sailors were afraid, and each cried out to his own god. And they threw the ship’s cargo into the sea to lighten the load. But Jonah had gone down to the lowest part of the vessel, where he lay down and fell into a deep sleep.

⁶船主到他那裡對他說：「你這沉睡的人哪，為何這樣呢？起來，求告你的神，或者神顧念我們，使我們不致滅亡。」The captain approached him and said, “How can you sleep? Get up and call upon your God. Perhaps this God will consider us, so that we may not perish.”

掣籤掣出約拿

⁷船上的人彼此說：「來吧，我們掣籤，看看這災臨到我們是因誰的緣故。」於是他們掣籤，掣出約拿來。“Come!” said the sailors to one another. “Let us cast lots to find out who is responsible for this calamity that is upon us.” So they cast lots, and the lot fell on Jonah.

⁸眾人對他說：「請你告訴我們，這災臨到我們是因誰的緣故？你以何事為業？你從哪裡來？你是哪一國？屬哪一族的人？」“Tell us now,” they demanded, “who is to blame for this calamity that is upon us? What is your occupation, and where have you come from? What is your country, and who are your people?”

⁹他說：「我是希伯來人。我敬畏耶和華─那創造滄海旱地之天上的　神。」“I am a Hebrew,” replied Jonah. “I worship the LORD, the God of the heavens, who made the sea and the dry land.”

¹⁰他們就大大懼怕，對他說：「你做的是甚麼事呢？」他們已經知道他躲避耶和華，因為他告訴了他們。Then the men were even more afraid and said to him, “What have you done?” The men knew that he was fleeing from the presence of the LORD, because he had told them.

約拿被拋在海中

¹¹他們問他說：「我們當向你怎樣行，使海浪平靜呢？」這話是因海浪越發翻騰。Now the sea was growing worse and worse, so they said to Jonah, “What must we do to you to calm this sea for us?”

¹²他對他們說：「你們將我抬起來，拋在海中，海就平靜了；我知道你們遭這大風是因我的緣故。」“Pick me up,” he answered, “and cast me into the sea, so it may quiet down for you. For I know that I am to blame for this violent storm that has come upon you.”

¹³然而那些人竭力盪槳，要把船攏岸，卻是不能，因為海浪越發向他們翻騰。Nevertheless, the men rowed hard to get back to dry land, but they could not, for the sea was raging against them more and more.

¹⁴他們便求告耶和華說：「耶和華啊，我們懇求你，不要因這人的性命使我們死亡，不要使流無辜血的罪歸與我們；因為你─耶和華是隨自己的意旨行事。」So they cried out to the LORD: “Please, O LORD, do not let us perish on account of this man’s life! Do not charge us with innocent blood! For You, O LORD, have done as You pleased.”

¹⁵他們遂將約拿抬起，拋在海中，海的狂浪就平息了。Then they picked up Jonah and cast him into the sea, and the raging sea grew calm.

¹⁶那些人便大大敬畏耶和華，向耶和華獻祭，並且許願。Then the men feared the LORD greatly, and they offered a sacrifice to the LORD and made vows to Him.

大魚吞了約拿

¹⁷耶和華安排一條大魚吞了約拿，他在魚腹中三日三夜。Now the LORD had appointed a great fish to swallow Jonah, and Jonah spent three days and three nights in the belly of the fish.

約拿在魚腹中禱告

¹約拿在魚腹中禱告耶和華─他的　神，From inside the fish, Jonah prayed to the LORD his God,

²說：我遭遇患難求告耶和華，你就應允我；從陰間的深處呼求，你就俯聽我的聲音。saying: “In my distress I called to the LORD, and He answered me. From the belly of Sheol I called for help, and You heard my voice.

³你將我投下深淵，就是海的深處；大水環繞我，你的波浪洪濤都漫過我身。For You cast me into the deep, into the heart of the seas, and the current swirled about me; all Your breakers and waves swept over me.

⁴我說：我從你眼前雖被驅逐，我仍要仰望你的聖殿。At this, I said, ‘I have been banished from Your sight; yet I will look once more toward Your holy temple.’

⁵諸水環繞我，幾乎淹沒我；深淵圍住我；海草纏繞我的頭。The waters engulfed me to take my life; the watery depths closed around me; the seaweed wrapped around my head.

⁶我下到山根，地的門將我永遠關住。耶和華─我的　神啊，你卻將我的性命從坑中救出來。To the roots of the mountains I descended; the earth beneath me barred me in forever! But You raised my life from the pit, O LORD my God!

⁷我心在我裡面發昏的時候，我就想念耶和華。我的禱告進入你的聖殿，達到你的面前。As my life was fading away, I remembered the LORD. My prayer went up to You, to Your holy temple.

⁸那信奉虛無之神的人，離棄憐愛他們的主；Those who cling to worthless idols forsake His loving devotion.

⁹但我必用感謝的聲音獻祭與你。我所許的願，我必償還。救恩出於耶和華。But I, with the voice of thanksgiving, will sacrifice to You. I will fulfill what I have vowed. Salvation is from the LORD!”

魚把約拿吐在旱地上

¹⁰耶和華吩咐魚，魚就把約拿吐在旱地上。And the LORD commanded the fish, and it vomited Jonah onto dry land.

再次奉差往尼尼微

¹耶和華的話二次臨到約拿說：Then the word of the LORD came to Jonah a second time:

²「你起來！往尼尼微大城去，向其中的居民宣告我所吩咐你的話。」“Get up! Go to the great city of Nineveh and proclaim to it the message that I give you.”

³約拿便照耶和華的話起來，往尼尼微去。這尼尼微是極大的城，有三日的路程。This time Jonah got up and went to Nineveh, in accordance with the word of the LORD. Now Nineveh was an exceedingly great city, requiring a three-day journey.

⁴約拿進城走了一日，宣告說：「再等四十日，尼尼微必傾覆了！」On the first day of his journey, Jonah set out into the city and proclaimed, “Forty more days and Nineveh will be overturned!”

尼尼微人信服悔改

⁵尼尼微人信服　神，便宣告禁食，從最大的到至小的都穿麻衣（或譯：披上麻布）。And the Ninevites believed God. They proclaimed a fast and dressed in sackcloth, from the greatest of them to the least.

⁶這信息傳到尼尼微王的耳中，他就下了寶座，脫下朝服，披上麻布，坐在灰中。When word reached the king of Nineveh, he got up from his throne, took off his royal robe, covered himself with sackcloth, and sat in ashes.

⁷他又使人遍告尼尼微通城，說：「王和大臣有令，人不可嘗甚麼，牲畜、牛羊不可吃草，也不可喝水。Then he issued a proclamation in Nineveh: “By the decree of the king and his nobles: Let no man or beast, herd or flock, taste anything at all. They must not eat or drink.

⁸人與牲畜都當披上麻布；人要切切求告　神。各人回頭離開所行的惡道，丟棄手中的強暴。Furthermore, let both man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and have everyone call out earnestly to God. Let each one turn from his evil ways and from the violence in his hands.

⁹或者　神轉意後悔，不發烈怒，使我們不致滅亡，也未可知。」Who knows? God may turn and relent; He may turn from His fierce anger, so that we will not perish.”

神不降所說的災

¹⁰於是　神察看他們的行為，見他們離開惡道，他就後悔，不把所說的災禍降與他們了。When God saw their actions—that they had turned from their evil ways—He relented from the disaster He had threatened to bring upon them.

約拿大大發怒

¹這事約拿大大不悅，且甚發怒，Jonah, however, was greatly displeased, and he became angry.

²就禱告耶和華說：「耶和華啊，我在本國的時候豈不是這樣說嗎？我知道你是有恩典、有憐憫的　神，不輕易發怒，有豐盛的慈愛，並且後悔不降所說的災，所以我急速逃往他施去。So he prayed to the LORD, saying, “O LORD, is this not what I said while I was still in my own country? This is why I was so quick to flee toward Tarshish. I knew that You are a gracious and compassionate God, slow to anger, abounding in loving devotion—One who relents from sending disaster.

³耶和華啊，現在求你取我的命吧！因為我死了比活著還好。」And now, O LORD, please take my life from me, for it is better for me to die than to live.”

⁴耶和華說：「你這樣發怒合乎理嗎？」But the LORD replied, “Have you any right to be angry?”

蓖麻和蟲子

⁵於是約拿出城，坐在城的東邊，在那裡為自己搭了一座棚，坐在棚的蔭下，要看看那城究竟如何。Then Jonah left the city and sat down east of it, where he made himself a shelter and sat in its shade to see what would happen to the city.

⁶耶和華　神安排一棵蓖麻，使其發生高過約拿，影兒遮蓋他的頭，救他脫離苦楚；約拿因這棵蓖麻大大喜樂。So the LORD God appointed a vine, and it grew up to provide shade over Jonah’s head to ease his discomfort, and Jonah was greatly pleased with the plant.

⁷次日黎明，　神卻安排一條蟲子咬這蓖麻，以致枯槁。When dawn came the next day, God appointed a worm that attacked the plant so that it withered.

⁸日頭出來的時候，　神安排炎熱的東風，日頭曝曬約拿的頭，使他發昏，他就為自己求死，說：「我死了比活著還好！」As the sun was rising, God appointed a scorching east wind, and the sun beat down on Jonah’s head so that he grew faint and wished to die, saying, “It is better for me to die than to live.”

⁹神對約拿說：「你因這棵蓖麻發怒合乎理嗎？」他說：「我發怒以至於死，都合乎理！」Then God asked Jonah, “Have you any right to be angry about the plant?” “I do,” he replied. “I am angry enough to die!”

我豈能不愛惜呢

¹⁰耶和華說：「這蓖麻不是你栽種的，也不是你培養的；一夜發生，一夜乾死，你尚且愛惜；But the LORD said, “You cared about the plant, which you neither tended nor made grow. It sprang up in a night and perished in a night.

¹¹何況這尼尼微大城，其中不能分辨左手右手的有十二萬多人，並有許多牲畜，我豈能不愛惜呢？」So should I not care about the great city of Nineveh, which has more than 120,000 people who cannot tell their right hand from their left, and many cattle as well?”

量神的殿

¹有一根葦子賜給我，當作量度的杖；且有話說：「起來！將　神的殿和祭壇，並在殿中禮拜的人都量一量。Then I was given a measuring rod like a staff and was told, “Go and measure the temple of God and the altar, and count the number of worshipers there.

²只是殿外的院子要留下不用量，因為這是給了外邦人的；他們要踐踏聖城四十二個月。But exclude the courtyard outside the temple. Do not measure it, because it has been given over to the nations, and they will trample the holy city for 42 months.

兩個見證人

³我要使我那兩個見證人，穿著毛衣，傳道一千二百六十天。」And I will empower my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth.”

⁴他們就是那兩棵橄欖樹，兩個燈臺，立在世界之主面前的。These witnesses are the two olive trees and the two lampstands that stand before the Lord of the earth.

⁵若有人想要害他們，就有火從他們口中出來，燒滅仇敵。凡想要害他們的都必這樣被殺。If anyone wants to harm them, fire proceeds from their mouths and devours their enemies. In this way, anyone who wants to harm them must be killed.

⁶這二人有權柄，在他們傳道的日子叫天閉塞不下雨；又有權柄叫水變為血，並且能隨時隨意用各樣的災殃攻擊世界。These witnesses have power to shut the sky so that no rain will fall during the days of their prophecy, and power to turn the waters into blood and to strike the earth with every kind of plague as often as they wish.

見證人被獸殺害

⁷他們作完見證的時候，那從無底坑裡上來的獸必與他們交戰，並且得勝，把他們殺了。When the two witnesses have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up from the Abyss will wage war with them, and will overpower and kill them.

⁸他們的屍首就倒在大城裡的街上；這城按著靈意叫所多瑪，又叫埃及，就是他們的主釘十字架之處。Their bodies will lie in the street of the great city—figuratively called Sodom and Egypt—where their Lord was also crucified.

⁹從各民、各族、各方、各國中，有人觀看他們的屍首三天半，又不許把屍首放在墳墓裡。For three and a half days all peoples and tribes and tongues and nations will view their bodies and will not permit them to be laid in a tomb.

¹⁰住在地上的人就為他們歡喜快樂，互相餽送禮物，因這兩位先知曾叫住在地上的人受痛苦。And those who dwell on the earth will gloat over them and celebrate and send one another gifts, because these two prophets had tormented them.

三天半後復活升天

¹¹過了這三天半，有生氣從　神那裡進入他們裡面，他們就站起來；看見他們的人甚是害怕。But after the three and a half days, the breath of life from God entered the two witnesses, and they stood on their feet, and great fear fell upon those who saw them.

¹²兩位先知聽見有大聲音從天上來，對他們說：「上到這裡來。」他們就駕著雲上了天，他們的仇敵也看見了。And the witnesses heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Come up here.” And they went up to heaven in a cloud as their enemies watched them.

大地震，歸榮耀給神

¹³正在那時候，地大震動，城就倒塌了十分之一，因地震而死的有七千人；其餘的都恐懼，歸榮耀給天上的　神。And in that hour there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city collapsed. Seven thousand were killed in the quake, and the rest were terrified and gave glory to the God of heaven.

¹⁴第二樣災禍過去，第三樣災禍快到了。The second woe has passed. Behold, the third woe is coming shortly.

第七號：世上的國成了主的國

¹⁵第七位天使吹號，天上就有大聲音說：世上的國成了我主和主基督的國；他要作王，直到永永遠遠。Then the seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and loud voices called out in heaven: “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ, and He will reign forever and ever.”

二十四位長老的敬拜

¹⁶在　神面前，坐在自己位上的二十四位長老，就面伏於地，敬拜　神，And the twenty-four elders who sit on their thrones before God fell on their faces and worshiped God,

¹⁷說：昔在、今在的主　神─全能者啊，我們感謝你！因你執掌大權作王了。saying: “We give thanks to You, O Lord God Almighty, the One who is and who was, because You have taken Your great power and have begun to reign.

¹⁸外邦發怒，你的忿怒也臨到了；審判死人的時候也到了。你的僕人眾先知和眾聖徒，凡敬畏你名的人，連大帶小得賞賜的時候也到了。你敗壞那些敗壞世界之人的時候也就到了。The nations were enraged, and Your wrath has come. The time has come to judge the dead and to reward Your servants the prophets, as well as the saints and those who fear Your name, both small and great—and to destroy those who destroy the earth.”

天上的殿開了

¹⁹當時，　神天上的殿開了，在他殿中現出他的約櫃。隨後有閃電、聲音、雷轟、地震、大雹。Then the temple of God in heaven was opened, and the ark of His covenant appeared in His temple. And there were flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder, an earthquake, and a great hailstorm.
