護衛長釋放耶利米

¹耶利米鎖在耶路撒冷和猶大被擄到巴比倫的人中，護衛長尼布撒拉旦將他從拉瑪釋放以後，耶和華的話臨到耶利米。This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD after Nebuzaradan captain of the guard had released him at Ramah, having found him bound in chains among all the captives of Jerusalem and Judah who were being exiled to Babylon.

²護衛長將耶利米叫來，對他說：「耶和華─你的　神曾說要降這禍與此地。The captain of the guard found Jeremiah and said to him, “The LORD your God decreed this disaster on this place,

³耶和華使這禍臨到，照他所說的行了；因為你們得罪耶和華，沒有聽從他的話，所以這事臨到你們。and now the LORD has fulfilled it; He has done just as He said. Because you people have sinned against the LORD and have not obeyed His voice, this thing has happened to you.

⁴現在我解開你手上的鍊子，你若看與我同往巴比倫去好，就可以去，我必厚待你；你若看與我同往巴比倫去不好，就不必去。看哪，全地在你面前，你以為哪裡美好，哪裡合宜，只管上那裡去吧！」But now, behold, I am freeing you today from the chains that were on your wrists. If it pleases you to come with me to Babylon, then come, and I will take care of you. But if it seems wrong to you to come with me to Babylon, go no farther. Look, the whole land is before you. Wherever it seems good and right to you, go there.”

⁵耶利米還沒有回去，護衛長說：「你可以回到沙番的孫子亞希甘的兒子基大利那裡去；現在巴比倫王立他作猶大城邑的省長。你可以在他那裡住在民中，不然，你看哪裡合宜就可以上那裡去。」於是護衛長送他糧食和禮物，釋放他去了。But before Jeremiah turned to go, Nebuzaradan added, “Return to Gedaliah son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon has appointed over the cities of Judah, and stay with him among the people, or go anywhere else that seems right.” Then the captain of the guard gave him a ration and a gift and released him.

⁶耶利米就到米斯巴見亞希甘的兒子基大利，在他那裡住在境內剩下的民中。So Jeremiah went to Gedaliah son of Ahikam at Mizpah and stayed with him among the people who were left in the land.

基大利作省長

⁷在田野的一切軍長和屬他們的人聽見巴比倫王立了亞希甘的兒子基大利作境內的省長，並將沒有擄到巴比倫的男人、婦女、孩童，和境內極窮的人全交給他。When all the commanders and men of the armies in the field heard that the king of Babylon had appointed Gedaliah son of Ahikam over the land and that he had put him in charge of the men, women, and children who were the poorest of the land and had not been exiled to Babylon,

⁸於是軍長尼探雅的兒子以實瑪利，加利亞的兩個兒子約哈難和約拿單，單戶篾的兒子西萊雅，並尼陀法人以斐的眾子，瑪迦人的兒子耶撒尼亞和屬他們的人，都到米斯巴見基大利。they came to Gedaliah at Mizpah—Ishmael son of Nethaniah, Johanan and Jonathan the sons of Kareah, Seraiah son of Tanhumeth, the sons of Ephai the Netophathite, and Jezaniah son of the Maacathite—they and their men.

⁹沙番的孫子亞希甘的兒子基大利向他們和屬他們的人起誓說：「不要怕服事迦勒底人，只管住在這地，服事巴比倫王，就可以得福。Gedaliah son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, swore an oath to them and their men, assuring them, “Do not be afraid to serve the Chaldeans. Live in the land and serve the king of Babylon, and it will go well with you.

¹⁰至於我，我要住在米斯巴，伺候那到我們這裡來的迦勒底人；只是你們當積蓄酒、油，和夏天的果子，收在器皿裡，住在你們所佔的城邑中。」As for me, I will stay in Mizpah to represent you before the Chaldeans who come to us. As for you, gather wine grapes, summer fruit, and oil, place them in your storage jars, and live in the cities you have taken.”

逃散的猶大人歸回

¹¹在摩押地和亞捫人中，在以東地和各國的一切猶大人，聽見巴比倫王留下些猶大人，並立沙番的孫子亞希甘的兒子基大利管理他們。When all the Jews in Moab, Ammon, Edom, and all the other lands heard that the king of Babylon had left a remnant in Judah and had appointed Gedaliah son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, over them,

¹²這一切猶大人就從所趕到的各處回來，到猶大地米斯巴的基大利那裡，又積蓄了許多的酒，並夏天的果子。they all returned from all the places to which they had been banished and came to the land of Judah, to Gedaliah at Mizpah. And they gathered an abundance of wine grapes and summer fruit.

約哈難警告基大利

¹³加利亞的兒子約哈難和在田野的一切軍長來到米斯巴見基大利，Meanwhile, Johanan son of Kareah and all the commanders of the armies in the field came to Gedaliah at Mizpah

¹⁴對他說：「亞捫人的王巴利斯打發尼探雅的兒子以實瑪利來要你的命，你知道嗎？」亞希甘的兒子基大利卻不信他們的話。and said to him, “Are you aware that Baalis king of the Ammonites has sent Ishmael son of Nethaniah to take your life?” But Gedaliah son of Ahikam did not believe them.

¹⁵加利亞的兒子約哈難在米斯巴私下對基大利說：「求你容我去殺尼探雅的兒子以實瑪利，必無人知道。何必讓他要你的命，使聚集到你這裡來的猶大人都分散，以致猶大剩下的人都滅亡呢？」Then Johanan son of Kareah spoke privately to Gedaliah at Mizpah. “Let me go and kill Ishmael son of Nethaniah,” he said. “No one will know it. Why should he take your life and scatter all the people of Judah who have gathered to you, so that the remnant of Judah would perish?”

¹⁶亞希甘的兒子基大利對加利亞的兒子約哈難說：「你不可行這事，你所論以實瑪利的話是假的。」But Gedaliah son of Ahikam said to Johanan son of Kareah, “Do not do such a thing! What you are saying about Ishmael is a lie.”

以實瑪利殺基大利

¹七月間，王的大臣宗室以利沙瑪的孫子、尼探雅的兒子以實瑪利帶著十個人，來到米斯巴見亞希甘的兒子基大利。他們在米斯巴一同吃飯。In the seventh month, Ishmael son of Nethaniah, the son of Elishama, who was a member of the royal family and one of the king’s chief officers, came with ten men to Gedaliah son of Ahikam at Mizpah, and they ate a meal together there.

²尼探雅的兒子以實瑪利和同他來的那十個人起來，用刀殺了沙番的孫子亞希甘的兒子基大利，就是巴比倫王所立為全地省長的。Then Ishmael son of Nethaniah and the ten men who were with him got up and struck down Gedaliah son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, with the sword, killing the one whom the king of Babylon had appointed to govern the land.

³以實瑪利又殺了在米斯巴、基大利那裡的一切猶大人和所遇見的迦勒底兵丁。Ishmael also killed all the Jews who were with Gedaliah at Mizpah, as well as the Chaldean soldiers who were there.

⁵第二天，有八十人從示劍和示羅，並撒馬利亞來，鬍鬚剃去，衣服撕裂，身體劃破，手拿素祭和乳香，要奉到耶和華的殿。eighty men who had shaved off their beards, torn their garments, and cut themselves came from Shechem, Shiloh, and Samaria, carrying grain offerings and frankincense for the house of the LORD.

⁶尼探雅的兒子以實瑪利出米斯巴迎接他們，隨走隨哭。遇見了他們，就對他們說：「你們可以來見亞希甘的兒子基大利。」And Ishmael son of Nethaniah went out from Mizpah to meet them, weeping as he went. When Ishmael encountered the men, he said, “Come to Gedaliah son of Ahikam.”

⁷他們到了城中，尼探雅的兒子以實瑪利和同著他的人就將他們殺了，拋在坑中。And when they came into the city, Ishmael son of Nethaniah and the men with him slaughtered them and threw them into a cistern.

⁸只是他們中間有十個人對以實瑪利說：「不要殺我們，因為我們有許多大麥、小麥、油、蜜藏在田間。」於是他住了手，沒有將他們殺在弟兄中間。But ten of the men among them said to Ishmael, “Do not kill us, for we have hidden treasure in the field—wheat, barley, oil, and honey!” So he refrained from killing them with the others.

⁹以實瑪利將所殺之人的屍首都拋在坑裡基大利的旁邊；這坑是從前亞撒王因怕以色列王巴沙所挖的。尼探雅的兒子以實瑪利將那些被殺的人填滿了坑。Now the cistern into which Ishmael had thrown all the bodies of the men he had struck down along with Gedaliah was a large one that King Asa had made for fear of Baasha king of Israel. Ishmael son of Nethaniah filled it with the slain.

¹⁰以實瑪利將米斯巴剩下的人，就是眾公主和仍住在米斯巴所有的百姓，原是護衛長尼布撒拉旦交給亞希甘的兒子基大利的，都擄去了。尼探雅的兒子以實瑪利擄了他們，要往亞捫人那裡去。Then Ishmael took captive all the remnant of the people of Mizpah—the daughters of the king along with all the others who remained in Mizpah—over whom Nebuzaradan captain of the guard had appointed Gedaliah son of Ahikam. Ishmael son of Nethaniah took them captive and set off to cross over to the Ammonites.

約哈難追回眾人

¹¹加利亞的兒子約哈難和同著他的眾軍長聽見尼探雅的兒子以實瑪利所行的一切惡，When Johanan son of Kareah and all the commanders of the armies with him heard of all the crimes that Ishmael son of Nethaniah had committed,

¹²就帶領眾人前往，要和尼探雅的兒子以實瑪利爭戰，在基遍的大水旁（或譯：大水池旁）遇見他。they took all their men and went to fight Ishmael son of Nethaniah. And they found him near the great pool in Gibeon.

¹³以實瑪利那裡的眾人看見加利亞的兒子約哈難和同著他的眾軍長，就都歡喜。When all the people with Ishmael saw Johanan son of Kareah and all the commanders of the army with him, they rejoiced,

¹⁴這樣，以實瑪利從米斯巴所擄去的眾人都轉身歸加利亞的兒子約哈難去了。and all the people whom Ishmael had taken captive at Mizpah turned and went over to Johanan son of Kareah.

¹⁵尼探雅的兒子以實瑪利和八個人脫離約哈難的手，逃往亞捫人那裡去了。But Ishmael son of Nethaniah and eight of his men escaped from Johanan and went to the Ammonites.

準備逃往埃及

¹⁶尼探雅的兒子以實瑪利殺了亞希甘的兒子基大利，從米斯巴將剩下的一切百姓、兵丁、婦女、孩童、太監擄到基遍之後，加利亞的兒子約哈難和同著他的眾軍長將他們都奪回來，Then Johanan son of Kareah and all the commanders of the armies with him took the whole remnant of the people from Mizpah whom he had recovered from Ishmael son of Nethaniah after Ishmael had killed Gedaliah son of Ahikam: the soldiers, women, children, and court officials he had brought back from Gibeon.

¹⁷帶到靠近伯利恆的金罕寓（或譯：基羅特金罕）住下，要進入埃及去；And they went and stayed in Geruth Chimham, near Bethlehem, in order to proceed into Egypt

¹⁸因為尼探雅的兒子以實瑪利殺了巴比倫王所立為省長的亞希甘的兒子基大利，約哈難懼怕迦勒底人。to escape the Chaldeans. For they were afraid of the Chaldeans because Ishmael son of Nethaniah had struck down Gedaliah son of Ahikam, whom the king of Babylon had appointed over the land.

不可忽略這麼大的救恩

¹所以，我們當越發鄭重所聽見的道理，恐怕我們隨流失去。We must pay closer attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away.

²那藉著天使所傳的話既是確定的；凡干犯悖逆的都受了該受的報應。For if the message spoken by angels was binding, and every transgression and disobedience received its just punishment,

³我們若忽略這麼大的救恩，怎能逃罪呢？這救恩起先是主親自講的，後來是聽見的人給我們證實了。how shall we escape if we neglect such a great salvation? This salvation was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard Him,

⁴神又按自己的旨意，用神蹟、奇事和百般的異能，並聖靈的恩賜，同他們作見證。and was affirmed by God through signs, wonders, various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to His will.

人算甚麼

⁵我們所說將來的世界，　神原沒有交給天使管轄。For it is not to angels that He has subjected the world to come, about which we are speaking.

⁶但有人在經上某處證明說：人算甚麼，你竟顧念他？世人算甚麼，你竟眷顧他？But somewhere it is testified in these words: “What is man that You are mindful of him, or the son of man that You care for him?

⁷你叫他比天使微小一點（或譯：你叫他暫時比天使小），賜他榮耀尊貴為冠冕，並將你手所造的都派他管理，You made him a little lower than the angels; You crowned him with glory and honor

⁸叫萬物都服在他的腳下。既叫萬物都服他，就沒有剩下一樣不服他的。只是如今我們還不見萬物都服他。and placed everything under his feet.” When God subjected all things to him, He left nothing outside of his control. Yet at present we do not see everything subject to him.

耶穌為人人嘗了死味

⁹惟獨見那成為比天使小一點的耶穌（或譯：惟獨見耶穌暫時比天使小）；因為受死的苦，就得了尊貴榮耀為冠冕，叫他因著　神的恩，為人人嘗了死味。But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, now crowned with glory and honor because He suffered death, so that by the grace of God He might taste death for everyone.

救恩的元帥

¹⁰原來那為萬物所屬、為萬物所本的，要領許多的兒子進榮耀裡去，使救他們的元帥，因受苦難得以完全，本是合宜的。In bringing many sons to glory, it was fitting for God, for whom and through whom all things exist, to make the author of their salvation perfect through suffering.

¹¹因那使人成聖的和那些得以成聖的，都是出於一。所以，他稱他們為弟兄也不以為恥，For both the One who sanctifies and those who are sanctified are of the same family. So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers.

¹²說：我要將你的名傳與我的弟兄，在會中我要頌揚你；He says: “I will proclaim Your name to My brothers; I will sing Your praises in the assembly.”

親自成了血肉之體

¹⁴兒女既同有血肉之體，他也照樣親自成了血肉之體，特要藉著死敗壞那掌死權的，就是魔鬼，Now since the children have flesh and blood, He too shared in their humanity, so that by His death He might destroy him who holds the power of death, that is, the devil,

¹⁵並要釋放那些一生因怕死而為奴僕的人。and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death.

慈悲忠信的大祭司

¹⁷所以，他凡事該與他的弟兄相同，為要在　神的事上成為慈悲忠信的大祭司，為百姓的罪獻上挽回祭。For this reason He had to be made like His brothers in every way, so that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, in order to make atonement for the sins of the people.

¹⁸他自己既然被試探而受苦，就能搭救被試探的人。Because He Himself suffered when He was tempted, He is able to help those who are being tempted.
