亞她利雅剿滅王室

¹⁰亞哈謝的母親亞她利雅見她兒子死了，就起來剿滅猶大王室。When Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she proceeded to annihilate all the royal heirs of the house of Judah.

約示巴藏起約阿施

¹¹但王的女兒約示巴將亞哈謝的兒子約阿施從那被殺的王子中偷出來，把他和他的乳母都藏在臥房裡。約示巴是約蘭王的女兒，亞哈謝的妹子，祭司耶何耶大的妻。她收藏約阿施，躲避亞她利雅，免得被殺。But Jehoshabeath daughter of King Jehoram took Joash son of Ahaziah and stole him away from among the sons of the king who were being murdered, and she put him and his nurse in a bedroom. Because Jehoshabeath, the daughter of King Jehoram and the wife of Jehoiada the priest, was Ahaziah’s sister, she hid Joash from Athaliah so that she could not kill him.

¹²約阿施和她們一同藏在　神殿裡六年；亞她利雅篡了國位。And Joash remained hidden with them in the house of God for six years while Athaliah ruled the land.

耶何耶大與百夫長立約

¹第七年，耶何耶大奮勇自強，將百夫長耶羅罕的兒子亞撒利雅，約哈難的兒子以實瑪利，俄備得的兒子亞撒利雅，亞大雅的兒子瑪西雅，細基利的兒子以利沙法召來，與他們立約。Then in the seventh year, Jehoiada strengthened himself and made a covenant with the commanders of hundreds—with Azariah son of Jeroham, Ishmael son of Jehohanan, Azariah son of Obed, Maaseiah son of Adaiah, and Elishaphat son of Zichri.

²他們走遍猶大，從猶大各城裡招聚利未人和以色列的眾族長到耶路撒冷來。So they went throughout Judah and gathered the Levites from all the cities of Judah and the heads of the families of Israel. And when they came to Jerusalem,

³會眾在　神殿裡與王立約。耶何耶大對他們說：「看哪，王的兒子必當作王，正如耶和華指著大衛子孫所應許的話」；the whole assembly made a covenant with the king in the house of God. “Behold, the king’s son!” said Jehoiada. “He must reign, just as the LORD promised concerning the descendants of David.

部署護衛

⁴又說：「你們當這樣行：祭司和利未人凡安息日進班的，三分之一要把守各門，This is what you are to do: A third of you priests and Levites who come on duty on the Sabbath shall keep watch at the doors,

⁵三分之一要在王宮，三分之一要在基址門；眾百姓要在耶和華殿的院內。a third shall be at the royal palace, and a third at the Foundation Gate, while all the others are to be in the courtyards of the house of the LORD.

⁶除了祭司和供職的利未人之外，不准別人進耶和華的殿；惟獨他們可以進去，因為他們聖潔。眾百姓要遵守耶和華所吩咐的。No one is to enter the house of the LORD except the priests and those Levites who serve; they may enter because they are consecrated, but all the people are to obey the requirement of the LORD.

⁷利未人要手中各拿兵器，四圍護衛王；凡擅入殿宇的，必當治死。王出入的時候，你們當跟隨他。」The Levites must surround the king with weapons in hand, and anyone who enters the temple must be put to death. You must stay close to the king wherever he goes.”

⁸利未人和猶大眾人都照著祭司耶何耶大一切所吩咐的去行，各帶所管安息日進班出班的人來，因為祭司耶何耶大不許他們下班。So the Levites and all Judah did everything that Jehoiada the priest had ordered. Each of them took his men—those coming on duty on the Sabbath and those going off duty—for Jehoiada the priest had not released any of the divisions.

⁹祭司耶何耶大便將　神殿裡所藏大衛王的槍、盾牌、擋牌交給百夫長，Then Jehoiada the priest gave to the commanders of hundreds the spears and the large and small shields of King David that were in the house of God.

¹⁰又分派眾民手中各拿兵器，在壇和殿那裡，從殿右直到殿左，站在王子的四圍；He stationed all the troops, with their weapons in hand, surrounding the king by the altar and the temple, from the south side to the north side of the temple.

立約阿施作王

¹¹於是領王子出來，給他戴上冠冕，將律法書交給他，立他作王。耶何耶大和眾子膏他，眾人說：「願王萬歲！」Then Jehoiada and his sons brought out the king’s son, put the crown on him, presented him with the Testimony, and proclaimed him king. They anointed him and shouted, “Long live the king!”

亞她利雅被殺

¹²亞她利雅聽見民奔走讚美王的聲音，就到民那裡，進耶和華的殿，When Athaliah heard the noise of the people running and cheering the king, she went out to them in the house of the LORD.

¹³看見王站在殿門的柱旁，百夫長和吹號的人侍立在王左右，國民都歡樂吹號，又有歌唱的，用各樣的樂器領人歌唱讚美；亞她利雅就撕裂衣服，喊叫說：「反了！反了！」And she looked and saw the king standing by his pillar at the entrance. The officers and trumpeters were beside the king, and all the people of the land were rejoicing and blowing trumpets, while the singers with musical instruments were leading the praises. Then Athaliah tore her clothes and screamed, “Treason, treason!”

¹⁴祭司耶何耶大帶管轄軍兵的百夫長出來，吩咐他們說：「將她趕到班外，凡跟隨她的必用刀殺死！」因為祭司說：「不可在耶和華殿裡殺她。」And Jehoiada the priest sent out the commanders of hundreds in charge of the army, saying, “Bring her out between the ranks, and put to the sword anyone who follows her.” For the priest had said, “She must not be put to death in the house of the LORD.”

¹⁵眾兵就閃開，讓她去；她走到王宮的馬門，便在那裡把她殺了。So they seized Athaliah as she reached the entrance of the Horse Gate on the palace grounds, and there they put her to death.

拆毀巴力廟，恢復聖殿事奉

¹⁶耶何耶大與眾民和王立約，都要作耶和華的民。Then Jehoiada made a covenant between himself and the king and the people that they would be the LORD’s people.

¹⁷於是眾民都到巴力廟，拆毀了廟，打碎壇和像，又在壇前將巴力的祭司瑪坦殺了。So all the people went to the temple of Baal and tore it down. They smashed the altars and idols to pieces and killed Mattan the priest of Baal in front of the altars.

¹⁸耶何耶大派官看守耶和華的殿，是在祭司利未人手下。這祭司利未人是大衛分派在耶和華殿中、照摩西律法上所寫的，給耶和華獻燔祭，又按大衛所定的例，歡樂歌唱；Moreover, Jehoiada put the oversight of the house of the LORD into the hands of the Levitical priests, whom David had appointed over the house of the LORD, to offer burnt offerings to the LORD as written in the Law of Moses, with rejoicing and song, as ordained by David.

¹⁹且設立守門的把守耶和華殿的各門，無論為何事，不潔淨的人都不准進去。He stationed gatekeepers at the gates of the house of the LORD, so that no one who was in any way unclean could enter.

²⁰又率領百夫長和貴冑，與民間的官長，並國中的眾民，請王從耶和華殿下來，由上門進入王宮，立王坐在國位上。And he took with him the commanders of hundreds, the nobles, the rulers of the people, and all the people of the land, and they brought the king down from the house of the LORD and entered the royal palace through the Upper Gate. They seated King Joash on the royal throne,

²¹國民都歡樂，合城都安靜。眾人已將亞她利雅用刀殺了。and all the people of the land rejoiced. And the city was quiet, because Athaliah had been put to the sword.

約阿施作王

¹約阿施登基的時候年七歲，在耶路撒冷作王四十年。他母親名叫西比亞，是別是巴人。Joash was seven years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem forty years. His mother’s name was Zibiah; she was from Beersheba.

²祭司耶何耶大在世的時候，約阿施行耶和華眼中看為正的事。And Joash did what was right in the eyes of the LORD all the days of Jehoiada the priest.

³耶何耶大為他娶了兩個妻，並且生兒養女。Jehoiada took for him two wives, and he had sons and daughters.

重修聖殿

⁴此後，約阿施有意重修耶和華的殿，Some time later, Joash set his heart on repairing the house of the LORD.

⁵便召聚眾祭司和利未人，吩咐他們說：「你們要往猶大各城去，使以色列眾人捐納銀子，每年可以修理你們　神的殿；你們要急速辦理這事。」只是利未人不急速辦理。So he gathered the priests and Levites and said, “Go out to the cities of Judah and collect the money due annually from all Israel, to repair the house of your God. Do it quickly.” The Levites, however, did not make haste.

⁶王召了大祭司耶何耶大來，對他說：「從前耶和華的僕人摩西，為法櫃的帳幕與以色列會眾所定的捐項，你為何不叫利未人照這例從猶大和耶路撒冷帶來作殿的費用呢？So the king called Jehoiada the high priest and said, “Why have you not required the Levites to bring from Judah and Jerusalem the tax imposed by Moses the servant of the LORD and by the assembly of Israel for the Tent of the Testimony?”

⁷（因為那惡婦亞她利雅的眾子曾拆毀　神的殿，又用耶和華殿中分別為聖的物供奉巴力。）For the sons of that wicked woman Athaliah had broken into the house of God and had even used the sacred objects of the house of the LORD for the Baals.

⁸於是王下令，眾人做了一櫃，放在耶和華殿的門外，At the king’s command a chest was made and placed outside, at the gate of the house of the LORD.

⁹又通告猶大和耶路撒冷的百姓，要將　神僕人摩西在曠野所吩咐以色列人的捐項給耶和華送來。And a proclamation was issued in Judah and Jerusalem that they were to bring to the LORD the tax imposed by Moses the servant of God on Israel in the wilderness.

¹⁰眾首領和百姓都歡歡喜喜地將銀子送來，投入櫃中，直到捐完。All the officers and all the people rejoiced and brought their contributions, and they dropped them in the chest until it was full.

¹¹利未人見銀子多了，就把櫃抬到王所派的司事面前；王的書記和大祭司的屬員來將櫃倒空，仍放在原處。日日都是這樣，積蓄的銀子甚多。Whenever the chest was brought by the Levites to the king’s overseers and they saw that there was a large amount of money, the royal scribe and the officer of the high priest would come and empty the chest and carry it back to its place. They did this daily and gathered the money in abundance.

¹²王與耶何耶大將銀子交給耶和華殿裡辦事的人，他們就雇了石匠、木匠重修耶和華的殿，又雇了鐵匠、銅匠修理耶和華的殿。Then the king and Jehoiada would give the money to those who supervised the labor on the house of the LORD to hire stonecutters and carpenters to restore the house of the LORD, as well as workers in iron and bronze to repair the house of the LORD.

¹³工人操作，漸漸修成，將　神殿修造得與從前一樣，而且甚是堅固。So the workmen labored, and in their hands the repair work progressed. They restored the house of God according to its specifications, and they reinforced it.

¹⁴工程完了，他們就把其餘的銀子拿到王與耶何耶大面前，用以製造耶和華殿供奉所用的器皿和調羹，並金銀的器皿。耶何耶大在世的時候，眾人常在耶和華殿裡獻燔祭。When they were finished, they brought the rest of the money to the king and Jehoiada, and with it were made articles for the house of the LORD—utensils for the service and for the burnt offerings, dishes, and other objects of gold and silver. Throughout the days of Jehoiada, burnt offerings were presented regularly in the house of the LORD.

耶何耶大去世

¹⁵耶何耶大年紀老邁，日子滿足而死。死的時候年一百三十歲，When Jehoiada was old and full of years, he died at the age of 130.

¹⁶葬在大衛城列王的墳墓裡；因為他在以色列人中行善，又事奉　神，修理　神的殿。And Jehoiada was buried with the kings in the City of David, because he had done what was good in Israel for God and His temple.

約阿施轉去拜偶像

¹⁷耶何耶大死後，猶大的眾首領來朝拜王；王就聽從他們。After the death of Jehoiada, however, the officials of Judah came and paid homage to the king, and he listened to them.

¹⁸他們離棄耶和華─他們列祖　神的殿，去事奉亞舍拉和偶像；因他們這罪，就有忿怒臨到猶大和耶路撒冷。They abandoned the house of the LORD, the God of their fathers, and served the Asherah poles and idols. So wrath came upon Judah and Jerusalem for this guilt of theirs.

¹⁹但　神仍遣先知到他們那裡，引導他們歸向耶和華。這先知警戒他們，他們卻不肯聽。Nevertheless, the LORD sent prophets to bring the people back to Him and to testify against them, but they would not listen.

撒迦利亞被石頭打死

²⁰那時，　神的靈感動祭司耶何耶大的兒子撒迦利亞，他就站在上面對民說：「　神如此說：你們為何干犯耶和華的誡命，以致不得亨通呢？因為你們離棄耶和華，所以他也離棄你們。」Then the Spirit of God came upon Zechariah son of Jehoiada the priest, who stood up before the people and said to them, “This is what God says: ‘Why do you transgress the commandments of the LORD so that you cannot prosper? Because you have forsaken the LORD, He has forsaken you.’”

²¹眾民同心謀害撒迦利亞，就照王的吩咐，在耶和華殿的院內用石頭打死他。But they conspired against Zechariah, and by order of the king, they stoned him in the courtyard of the house of the LORD.

²²這樣，約阿施王不想念撒迦利亞的父親耶何耶大向自己所施的恩，殺了他的兒子。撒迦利亞臨死的時候說：「願耶和華鑒察伸冤！」Thus King Joash failed to remember the kindness that Zechariah’s father Jehoiada had extended to him. Instead, Joash killed Jehoiada’s son. As he lay dying, Zechariah said, “May the LORD see this and call you to account.”

亞蘭來攻，約阿施被殺

²³滿了一年，亞蘭的軍兵上來攻擊約阿施，來到猶大和耶路撒冷，殺了民中的眾首領，將所掠的財貨送到大馬士革王那裡。In the spring, the army of Aram went to war against Joash. They entered Judah and Jerusalem and destroyed all the leaders of the people, and they sent all the plunder to their king in Damascus.

²⁴亞蘭的軍兵雖來了一小隊，耶和華卻將大隊的軍兵交在他們手裡，是因猶大人離棄耶和華─他們列祖的　神，所以藉亞蘭人懲罰約阿施。Although the Aramean army had come with only a few men, the LORD delivered into their hand a very great army. Because Judah had forsaken the LORD, the God of their fathers, judgment was executed on Joash.

²⁵亞蘭人離開約阿施的時候，他患重病；臣僕背叛他，要報祭司耶何耶大兒子流血之仇，殺他在床上，葬他在大衛城，只是不葬在列王的墳墓裡。And when the Arameans had withdrawn, they left Joash severely wounded. His own servants conspired against him for shedding the blood of the son of Jehoiada the priest, and they killed him on his bed. So he died and was buried in the City of David, but not in the tombs of the kings.

²⁶背叛他的是亞捫婦人示米押的兒子撒拔和摩押婦人示米利的兒子約薩拔。Those who conspired against Joash were Zabad son of Shimeath the Ammonitess and Jehozabad son of Shimrith the Moabitess.

²⁷至於他的眾子和他所受的警戒，並他重修　神殿的事，都寫在列王的傳上。他兒子亞瑪謝接續他作王。The accounts of the sons of Joash and the many pronouncements about him, and of the restoration of the house of God, are indeed written in the Treatise of the Book of the Kings. And his son Amaziah reigned in his place.

各處教會得平安

³¹那時，猶太、加利利、撒馬利亞各處的教會都得平安，被建立；凡事敬畏主，蒙聖靈的安慰，人數就增多了。Then the church throughout Judea, Galilee, and Samaria experienced a time of peace. It grew in strength and numbers, living in the fear of the Lord and the encouragement of the Holy Spirit.

在呂大醫好以尼雅

³²彼得周流四方的時候，也到了居住呂大的聖徒那裡；As Peter traveled throughout the area, he went to visit the saints in Lydda.

³³遇見一個人，名叫以尼雅，得了癱瘓，在褥子上躺臥八年。There he found a man named Aeneas who had been paralyzed and bedridden for eight years.

³⁴彼得對他說：「以尼雅，耶穌基督醫好你了，起來！收拾你的褥子。」他就立刻起來了。“Aeneas,” Peter said to him, “Jesus Christ heals you! Get up and put away your mat.” Immediately Aeneas got up,

³⁵凡住呂大和沙崙的人都看見了他，就歸服主。and all who lived in Lydda and Sharon saw him and turned to the Lord.

約帕的女徒多加

³⁶在約帕有一個女徒，名叫大比大，翻希臘話就是多加（就是羚羊的意思）；她廣行善事，多施賙濟。In Joppa there was a disciple named Tabitha (which is translated as Dorcas), who was always occupied with works of kindness and charity.

³⁷當時，她患病而死，有人把她洗了，停在樓上。At that time, however, she became sick and died, and her body was washed and placed in an upper room.

³⁸呂大原與約帕相近；門徒聽見彼得在那裡，就打發兩個人去見他，央求他說：「快到我們那裡去，不要耽延。」Since Lydda was near Joppa, the disciples, hearing that Peter was there, sent two men to urge him, “Come to us without delay.”

³⁹彼得就起身和他們同去；到了，便有人領他上樓。眾寡婦都站在彼得旁邊哭，拿多加與她們同在時所做的裡衣外衣給他看。So Peter got up and went with them. On his arrival, they took him to the upper room. All the widows stood around him, weeping and showing him the tunics and other clothing that Dorcas had made while she was still with them.

大比大，起來

⁴⁰彼得叫她們都出去，就跪下禱告，轉身對著死人說：「大比大，起來！」她就睜開眼睛，見了彼得，便坐起來。Then Peter sent them all out of the room. He knelt down and prayed, and turning toward her body, he said, “Tabitha, get up!” She opened her eyes, and seeing Peter, she sat up.

⁴¹彼得伸手扶她起來，叫眾聖徒和寡婦進去，把多加活活地交給他們。Peter took her by the hand and helped her up. Then he called the saints and widows and presented her to them alive.

⁴²這事傳遍了約帕，就有許多人信了主。This became known all over Joppa, and many people believed in the Lord.

⁴³此後，彼得在約帕一個硝皮匠西門的家裡住了多日。And Peter stayed for several days in Joppa with a tanner named Simon.
