約蘭接續作王

¹約沙法與他列祖同睡，葬在大衛城他列祖的墳地裡。他兒子約蘭接續他作王。And Jehoshaphat rested with his fathers and was buried with them in the City of David. And his son Jehoram reigned in his place.

約蘭殺了眾兄弟

²約蘭有幾個兄弟，就是約沙法的兒子亞撒利雅、耶歇、撒迦利雅、亞撒利雅、米迦勒、示法提雅。這都是猶大王約沙法的兒子。Jehoram’s brothers, the sons of Jehoshaphat, were Azariah, Jehiel, Zechariah, Azariah, Michael, and Shephatiah; these were all sons of Jehoshaphat king of Israel.

³他們的父親將許多金銀、財寶，和猶大地的堅固城賜給他們；但將國賜給約蘭，因為他是長子。Their father had given them many gifts of silver and gold and precious things, as well as the fortified cities in Judah; but he gave the kingdom to Jehoram because he was the firstborn.

⁴約蘭興起坐他父的位，奮勇自強，就用刀殺了他的眾兄弟和以色列的幾個首領。When Jehoram had established himself over his father’s kingdom, he strengthened himself by putting to the sword all his brothers along with some of the princes of Israel.

約蘭行亞哈家的道

⁵約蘭登基的時候年三十二歲，在耶路撒冷作王八年。Jehoram was thirty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem eight years.

⁶他行以色列諸王的道，與亞哈家一樣；因他娶了亞哈的女兒為妻，行耶和華眼中看為惡的事。And Jehoram walked in the ways of the kings of Israel, just as the house of Ahab had done. For he married a daughter of Ahab and did evil in the sight of the LORD.

⁷耶和華卻因自己與大衛所立的約，不肯滅大衛的家，照他所應許的，永遠賜燈光與大衛和他的子孫。Yet the LORD was unwilling to destroy the house of David, because of the covenant He had made with David, and since He had promised to maintain a lamp for David and his descendants forever.

以東、立拿背叛

⁸約蘭年間，以東人背叛猶大，脫離他的權下，自己立王。In the days of Jehoram, Edom rebelled against the hand of Judah and appointed their own king.

⁹約蘭就率領軍長和所有的戰車，夜間起來，攻擊圍困他的以東人和車兵長。So Jehoram crossed into Edom with his officers and all his chariots. When the Edomites surrounded him and his chariot commanders, he rose up and attacked by night.

¹⁰這樣，以東人背叛猶大，脫離他的權下，直到今日。那時，立拿人也背叛了，因為約蘭離棄耶和華─他列祖的　神。So to this day Edom has been in rebellion against the hand of Judah. Likewise, Libnah rebelled against his hand at the same time, because Jehoram had forsaken the LORD, the God of his fathers.

¹¹他又在猶大諸山建築邱壇，使耶路撒冷的居民行邪淫，誘惑猶大人。Jehoram had also built high places on the hills of Judah; he had caused the people of Jerusalem to prostitute themselves and had led Judah astray.

先知以利亞的信

¹²先知以利亞達信與約蘭說：「耶和華─你祖大衛的　神如此說：『因為你不行你父約沙法和猶大王亞撒的道，Then a letter came to Jehoram from Elijah the prophet, which stated: “This is what the LORD, the God of your father David, says: ‘You have not walked in the ways of your father Jehoshaphat or of Asa king of Judah,

¹³乃行以色列諸王的道，使猶大人和耶路撒冷的居民行邪淫，像亞哈家一樣，又殺了你父家比你好的諸兄弟。but you have walked in the ways of the kings of Israel and have caused Judah and the people of Jerusalem to prostitute themselves, just as the house of Ahab prostituted itself. You have also killed your brothers, your father’s family, who were better than you.

¹⁴故此，耶和華降大災與你的百姓和你的妻子、兒女，並你一切所有的。So behold, the LORD is about to strike your people, your sons, your wives, and all your possessions with a serious blow.

¹⁵你的腸子必患病，日加沉重，以致你的腸子墜落下來。』」And day after day you yourself will suffer from a severe illness, a disease of your bowels, until it causes your bowels to come out.’”

外敵擄掠，約蘭病死

¹⁶以後，耶和華激動非利士人和靠近古實的阿拉伯人來攻擊約蘭。Then the LORD stirred against Jehoram the spirit of the Philistines and Arabs who lived near the Cushites.

¹⁷他們上來攻擊猶大，侵入境內，擄掠了王宮裡所有的財貨和他的妻子、兒女，除了他小兒子約哈斯（又名亞哈謝）之外，沒有留下一個兒子。So they went to war against Judah, invaded it, and carried off all the possessions found in the king’s palace, along with his sons and wives; not a son was left to him except Jehoahaz, his youngest.

¹⁸這些事以後，耶和華使約蘭的腸子患不能醫治的病。After all this, the LORD afflicted Jehoram with an incurable disease of the bowels.

¹⁹他患此病纏綿日久，過了二年，腸子墜落下來，病重而死。他的民沒有為他燒甚麼物件，像從前為他列祖所燒的一樣。This continued day after day until two full years had passed. Finally, his intestines came out because of his disease, and he died in severe pain. And his people did not make a fire in his honor as they had done for his fathers.

²⁰約蘭登基的時候年三十二歲，在耶路撒冷作王八年。他去世無人思慕，眾人葬他在大衛城，只是不在列王的墳墓裡。Jehoram was thirty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem eight years. He died, to no one’s regret, and was buried in the City of David, but not in the tombs of the kings.

亞哈謝作王

¹耶路撒冷的居民立約蘭的小兒子亞哈謝接續他作王；因為跟隨阿拉伯人來攻營的軍兵曾殺了亞哈謝的眾兄長。這樣，猶大王約蘭的兒子亞哈謝作了王。Then the people of Jerusalem made Ahaziah, the youngest son of Jehoram, king in his place, since the raiders who had come into the camp with the Arabs had killed all the older sons. So Ahaziah son of Jehoram became king of Judah.

²亞哈謝登基的時候年四十二歲（列王下八章二十六節是二十二歲），在耶路撒冷作王一年。他母親名叫亞她利雅，是暗利的孫女。Ahaziah was twenty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem one year. His mother’s name was Athaliah, the granddaughter of Omri.

³亞哈謝也行亞哈家的道；因為他母親給他主謀，使他行惡。Ahaziah also walked in the ways of the house of Ahab, for his mother was his counselor in wickedness.

⁴他行耶和華眼中看為惡的事，像亞哈家一樣；因他父親死後有亞哈家的人給他主謀，以致敗壞。And he did evil in the sight of the LORD, as the house of Ahab had done, for to his destruction they were his counselors after the death of his father.

亞哈謝與以色列王約蘭同行

⁵他聽從亞哈家的計謀，同以色列王亞哈的兒子約蘭往基列的拉末去，與亞蘭王哈薛爭戰；亞蘭人打傷了約蘭。Ahaziah also followed their counsel and went with Joram son of Ahab king of Israel to fight against Hazael king of Aram at Ramoth-gilead. But the Arameans wounded Joram.

⁶約蘭回到耶斯列，醫治在拉末與亞蘭王哈薛打仗所受的傷，猶大王約蘭的兒子亞撒利雅（就是亞哈謝）因為亞哈的兒子約蘭病了，就下到耶斯列看望他。So he returned to Jezreel to recover from the wounds they had inflicted on him at Ramah when he fought against Hazael king of Aram. Then Ahaziah son of Jehoram king of Judah went down to Jezreel to visit Joram son of Ahab, because Joram had been wounded.

亞哈謝被耶戶所殺

⁷亞哈謝去見約蘭就被害了，這是出乎　神；因為他到了，就同約蘭出去攻擊寧示的孫子耶戶。這耶戶是耶和華所膏、使他剪除亞哈家的。Ahaziah’s downfall came from God when he went to visit Joram. When Ahaziah arrived, he went out with Joram to meet Jehu son of Nimshi, whom the LORD had anointed to destroy the house of Ahab.

⁸耶戶討亞哈家罪的時候，遇見猶大的眾首領和亞哈謝的眾姪子服事亞哈謝，就把他們都殺了。So while Jehu was executing judgment on the house of Ahab, he found the rulers of Judah and the sons of Ahaziah’s brothers who were serving Ahaziah, and he killed them.

⁹亞哈謝藏在撒馬利亞，耶戶尋找他，眾人將他拿住，送到耶戶那裡，就殺了他，將他葬埋；因他們說，他是那盡心尋求耶和華之約沙法的兒子。這樣，亞哈謝的家無力保守國權。Then Jehu looked for Ahaziah, and Jehu’s soldiers captured him while he was hiding in Samaria. So Ahaziah was brought to Jehu and put to death. They buried him, for they said, “He is the grandson of Jehoshaphat, who sought the LORD with all his heart.” So no one was left from the house of Ahaziah with the strength to rule the kingdom.

掃羅要往大馬士革捉人

¹掃羅仍然向主的門徒口吐威嚇凶煞的話，去見大祭司，Meanwhile, Saul was still breathing out murderous threats against the disciples of the Lord. He approached the high priest

²求文書給大馬士革的各會堂，若是找著信奉這道的人，無論男女，都准他捆綁帶到耶路撒冷。and requested letters to the synagogues in Damascus, so that if he found any men or women belonging to the Way, he could bring them as prisoners to Jerusalem.

天上的光照倒掃羅

³掃羅行路，將到大馬士革，忽然從天上發光，四面照著他；As Saul drew near to Damascus on his journey, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him.

⁴他就仆倒在地，聽見有聲音對他說：「掃羅！掃羅！你為甚麼逼迫我？」He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute Me?”

⁵他說：「主啊！你是誰？」主說：「我就是你所逼迫的耶穌。“Who are You, Lord?” Saul asked. “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,” He replied.

⁶起來！進城去，你所當做的事，必有人告訴你。」“Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”

⁷同行的人站在那裡，說不出話來，聽見聲音，卻看不見人。The men traveling with Saul stood there speechless. They heard the voice but did not see anyone.

⁸掃羅從地上起來，睜開眼睛，竟不能看見甚麼。有人拉他的手，領他進了大馬士革；Saul got up from the ground, but when he opened his eyes he could not see a thing. So they led him by the hand into Damascus.

⁹三日不能看見，也不吃也不喝。For three days he was without sight, and he did not eat or drink anything.

主差亞拿尼亞

¹⁰當下，在大馬士革有一個門徒，名叫亞拿尼亞。主在異象中對他說：「亞拿尼亞。」他說：「主，我在這裡。」In Damascus there was a disciple named Ananias. The Lord spoke to him in a vision, “Ananias!” “Here I am, Lord,” he answered.

¹¹主對他說：「起來！往直街去，在猶大的家裡，訪問一個大數人，名叫掃羅。他正禱告，“Get up!” the Lord told him. “Go to the house of Judas on Straight Street and ask for a man from Tarsus named Saul, for he is praying.

¹²又看見了一個人，名叫亞拿尼亞，進來按手在他身上，叫他能看見。」In a vision he has seen a man named Ananias come and place his hands on him to restore his sight.”

¹³亞拿尼亞回答說：「主啊，我聽見許多人說：這人怎樣在耶路撒冷多多苦害你的聖徒，But Ananias answered, “Lord, many people have told me about this man and all the harm he has done to Your saints in Jerusalem.

¹⁴並且他在這裡有從祭司長得來的權柄捆綁一切求告你名的人。」And now he is here with authority from the chief priests to arrest all who call on Your name.”

¹⁵主對亞拿尼亞說：「你只管去！他是我所揀選的器皿，要在外邦人和君王，並以色列人面前宣揚我的名。“Go!” said the Lord. “This man is My chosen instrument to carry My name before the Gentiles and their kings, and before the people of Israel.

¹⁶我也要指示他，為我的名必須受許多的苦難。」I will show him how much he must suffer for My name.”

掃羅能看見並受洗

¹⁷亞拿尼亞就去了，進入那家，把手按在掃羅身上，說：「兄弟掃羅，在你來的路上向你顯現的主，就是耶穌，打發我來，叫你能看見，又被聖靈充滿。」So Ananias went to the house, and when he arrived, he placed his hands on Saul. “Brother Saul,” he said, “the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you were coming here, has sent me so that you may see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”

¹⁸掃羅的眼睛上，好像有鱗立刻掉下來，他就能看見。於是起來受了洗；At that instant, something like scales fell from Saul’s eyes, and his sight was restored. He got up and was baptized,

在大馬士革宣傳耶穌

¹⁹吃過飯就健壯了。掃羅和大馬士革的門徒同住了些日子，and after taking some food, he regained his strength. And he spent several days with the disciples in Damascus.

²⁰就在各會堂裡宣傳耶穌，說他是　神的兒子。Saul promptly began to proclaim Jesus in the synagogues, declaring, “He is the Son of God.”

²¹凡聽見的人都驚奇，說：「在耶路撒冷殘害求告這名的，不是這人嗎？並且他到這裡來，特要捆綁他們，帶到祭司長那裡。」All who heard him were astounded and asked, “Isn’t this the man who wreaked havoc in Jerusalem on those who call on this name? And hasn’t he come here to take them as prisoners to the chief priests?”

²²但掃羅越發有能力，駁倒住大馬士革的猶太人，證明耶穌是基督。But Saul was empowered all the more, and he confounded the Jews living in Damascus by proving that Jesus is the Christ.

從城牆上縋下逃走

²³過了好些日子，猶太人商議要殺掃羅，After many days had passed, the Jews conspired to kill him,

²⁴但他們的計謀被掃羅知道了。他們又晝夜在城門守候，要殺他。but Saul learned of their plot. Day and night they watched the city gates in order to kill him.

²⁵他的門徒就在夜間用筐子把他從城牆上縋下去。One night, however, his disciples took him and lowered him in a basket through a window in the wall.

巴拿巴接待掃羅

²⁶掃羅到了耶路撒冷，想與門徒結交，他們卻都怕他，不信他是門徒。When Saul arrived in Jerusalem, he tried to join the disciples, but they were all afraid of him, not believing that he was a disciple.

²⁷惟有巴拿巴接待他，領去見使徒，把他在路上怎麼看見主，主怎麼向他說話，他在大馬士革怎麼奉耶穌的名放膽傳道，都述說出來。Then Barnabas brought him to the apostles and described how Saul had seen the Lord, who had spoken to him on the road to Damascus, and how Saul had spoken boldly in that city in the name of Jesus.

²⁸於是掃羅在耶路撒冷和門徒出入來往，So Saul stayed with them, moving about freely in Jerusalem and speaking boldly in the name of the Lord.

送往大數

²⁹奉主的名放膽傳道，並與說希臘話的猶太人講論辯駁；他們卻想法子要殺他。He talked and debated with the Grecian Jews, but they tried to kill him.

³⁰弟兄們知道了就送他下凱撒利亞，打發他往大數去。When the brothers learned of this, they took him down to Caesarea and sent him off to Tarsus.
