神再次向所羅門顯現

¹¹所羅門造成了耶和華殿和王宮；在耶和華殿和王宮凡他心中所要做的，都順順利利地做成了。When Solomon had finished the house of the LORD and the royal palace, successfully carrying out all that was in his heart to do for the house of the LORD and for his own palace,

¹²夜間耶和華向所羅門顯現，對他說：「我已聽了你的禱告，也選擇這地方作為祭祀我的殿宇。the LORD appeared to him at night and said to him: “I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for Myself as a house of sacrifice.

¹³我若使天閉塞不下雨，或使蝗蟲吃這地的出產，或使瘟疫流行在我民中，If I close the sky so there is no rain, or if I command the locust to devour the land, or if I send a plague among My people,

¹⁴這稱為我名下的子民，若是自卑、禱告，尋求我的面，轉離他們的惡行，我必從天上垂聽，赦免他們的罪，醫治他們的地。and if My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land.

¹⁵我必睜眼看、側耳聽在此處所獻的禱告。Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place.

¹⁶現在我已選擇這殿，分別為聖，使我的名永在其中，我的眼、我的心也必常在那裡。For I have now chosen and consecrated this temple so that My Name may be there forever. My eyes and My heart will be there for all time.

遵行就堅立，離棄就拔根

¹⁷你若在我面前效法你父大衛所行的，遵行我一切所吩咐你的，謹守我的律例典章，And as for you, if you walk before Me as your father David walked, doing all I have commanded you, and if you keep My statutes and ordinances,

¹⁸我就必堅固你的國位，正如我與你父大衛所立的約，說：『你的子孫必不斷人作以色列的王。』then I will establish your royal throne, as I covenanted with your father David when I said, ‘You will never fail to have a man to rule over Israel.’

¹⁹「倘若你們轉去丟棄我指示你們的律例誡命，去事奉敬拜別神，But if you turn away and forsake the statutes and commandments I have set before you, and if you go off to serve and worship other gods,

²⁰我就必將以色列人從我賜給他們的地上拔出根來，並且我為己名所分別為聖的殿也必捨棄不顧，使他在萬民中作笑談，被譏誚。then I will uproot Israel from the soil I have given them, and I will banish from My presence this temple I have sanctified for My Name. I will make it an object of scorn and ridicule among all the peoples.

²¹這殿雖然甚高，將來經過的人必驚訝說：『耶和華為何向這地和這殿如此行呢？』And when this temple has become a heap of rubble, all who pass by it will be appalled and say, ‘Why has the LORD done such a thing to this land and to this temple?’

²²人必回答說：『是因此地的人離棄耶和華─他們列祖的　神，就是領他們出埃及地的　神，去親近別神，敬拜事奉他，所以耶和華使這一切災禍臨到他們。』」And others will answer, ‘Because they have forsaken the LORD, the God of their fathers, who brought them out of the land of Egypt, and have embraced other gods, worshiping and serving them—because of this, He has brought all this disaster upon them.’”

所羅門建造城邑

¹所羅門建造耶和華殿和王宮，二十年才完畢了。Now at the end of the twenty years during which Solomon had built the house of the LORD and his own palace,

²以後所羅門重新修築希蘭送給他的那些城邑，使以色列人住在那裡。Solomon rebuilt the cities Hiram had given him and settled Israelites there.

³所羅門往哈馬瑣巴去，攻取了那地方。Then Solomon went to Hamath-zobah and captured it.

⁴所羅門建造曠野裡的達莫，又建造哈馬所有的積貨城，He built Tadmor in the wilderness, in addition to all the store cities that he had built in Hamath.

⁵又建造上伯‧和崙、下伯‧和崙作為保障，都有牆，有門，有閂；He rebuilt Upper and Lower Beth-horon as fortified cities with walls, gates, and bars,

⁶又建造巴拉和所有的積貨城，並屯車輛馬兵的城，與耶路撒冷、黎巴嫩，以及自己治理的全國中所願意建造的。as well as Baalath, all the store cities that belonged to Solomon, and all the cities for his chariots and horses—whatever he desired to build in Jerusalem, Lebanon, and throughout the land of his dominion.

外族人作服苦的奴僕

⁷至於國中所剩下不屬以色列人的赫人、亞摩利人、比利洗人、希未人、耶布斯人，As for all the people who remained of the Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites (these people were not Israelites)—

⁸就是以色列人未曾滅絕的，所羅門挑取他們的後裔作服苦的奴僕，直到今日。their descendants who remained in the land, those whom the Israelites had not destroyed—Solomon conscripted these people to be forced laborers, as they are to this day.

⁹惟有以色列人，所羅門不使他們當奴僕做工，乃是作他的戰士、軍長的統領、車兵長、馬兵長。But Solomon did not consign any of the Israelites to slave labor, because they were his men of war, the leaders of his captains, and the commanders of his chariots and cavalry.

¹⁰所羅門王有二百五十督工的，監管工人。They were also the chief officers for King Solomon: 250 supervisors.

法老的女兒遷入新宮

¹¹所羅門將法老的女兒帶出大衛城，上到為她建造的宮裡；因所羅門說：「耶和華約櫃所到之處都為聖地，所以我的妻不可住在以色列王大衛的宮裡。」Solomon brought the daughter of Pharaoh up from the City of David to the palace he had built for her. For he said, “My wife must not live in the house of David king of Israel, because the places the ark of the LORD has entered are holy.”

按摩西的吩咐獻祭守節

¹²所羅門在耶和華的壇上，就是在廊子前他所築的壇上，與耶和華獻燔祭；At that time Solomon offered burnt offerings to the LORD on the altar of the LORD he had built in front of the portico.

¹³又遵著摩西的吩咐在安息日、月朔，並一年三節，就是除酵節、七七節、住棚節，獻每日所當獻的祭。He observed the daily requirement for offerings according to the commandment of Moses for Sabbaths, New Moons, and the three annual appointed feasts—the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the Feast of Weeks, and the Feast of Tabernacles.

¹⁴所羅門照著他父大衛所定的例，派定祭司的班次，使他們各供己事，又使利未人各盡其職，讚美耶和華，在祭司面前做每日所當做的；又派守門的按著班次看守各門，因為神人大衛是這樣吩咐的。In keeping with the ordinances of his father David, Solomon appointed the divisions of the priests over their service, and the Levites for their duties to offer praise and to minister before the priests according to the daily requirement. He also appointed gatekeepers by their divisions at each gate, for this had been the command of David, the man of God.

¹⁵王所吩咐眾祭司和利未人的，無論是管府庫或辦別的事，他們都不違背。They did not turn aside from the king’s command regarding the priests or the Levites in any matter, including that of the treasuries.

¹⁶所羅門建造耶和華的殿，從立根基直到成功的日子，工料俱備。這樣，耶和華的殿全然完畢。Thus all the work of Solomon was carried out, from the day the foundation was laid for the house of the LORD until it was finished. So the house of the LORD was completed.

船隊往俄斐

¹⁷那時，所羅門往以東地靠海的以旬‧迦別和以祿去。Then Solomon went to Ezion-geber and to Eloth on the coast of Edom.

¹⁸希蘭差遣他的臣僕，將船隻和熟悉泛海的僕人送到所羅門那裡。他們同著所羅門的僕人到了俄斐，得了四百五十他連得金子，運到所羅門王那裡。So Hiram sent him ships captained by his servants, along with crews of experienced sailors. They went with Solomon’s servants to Ophir and acquired from there 450 talents of gold, which they delivered to King Solomon.

示巴女王來訪

¹示巴女王聽見所羅門的名聲，就來到耶路撒冷，要用難解的話試問所羅門；跟隨她的人甚多，又有駱駝馱著香料、寶石，和許多金子。她來見了所羅門，就把心裡所有的對所羅門都說出來。Now when the queen of Sheba heard about the fame of Solomon, she came to test him with difficult questions. She arrived in Jerusalem with a very large caravan—with camels bearing spices, gold in abundance, and precious stones. And she came to Solomon and spoke with him about all that was on her mind.

²所羅門將她所問的都答上了，沒有一句不明白、不能答的。And Solomon answered all her questions; nothing was too difficult for him to explain.

³示巴女王見所羅門的智慧和他所建造的宮室、When the queen of Sheba saw the wisdom of Solomon, the palace he had built,

⁴席上的珍饈美味、群臣分列而坐、僕人兩旁侍立，以及他們的衣服裝飾、酒政，和酒政的衣服裝飾，又見他上耶和華殿的臺階，就詫異得神不守舍，the food at his table, the seating of his servants, the service and attire of his attendants, the attire of his cupbearers, and the burnt offerings he presented at the house of the LORD, it took her breath away.

⁵對王說：「我在本國裡所聽見論到你的事和你的智慧實在是真的！She said to the king, “The report I heard in my own country about your words and wisdom is true.

⁶我先不信那些話，及至我來親眼見了，才知道你的大智慧；人所告訴我的，還不到一半；你的實跡越過我所聽見的名聲。But I did not believe the reports until I came and saw with my own eyes. Indeed, not half of the greatness of your wisdom was told to me. You have far exceeded the report I heard.

⁷你的群臣、你的僕人常侍立在你面前聽你智慧的話是有福的。How blessed are your men! How blessed are these servants of yours who stand continually before you and hear your wisdom!

⁸耶和華─你的　神是應當稱頌的！他喜悅你，使你坐他的國位，為耶和華─你的　神作王；因為你的　神愛以色列人，要永遠堅立他們，所以立你作他們的王，使你秉公行義。」Blessed be the LORD your God, who has delighted in you to set you on His throne to be king for the LORD your God. Because your God loved Israel enough to establish them forever, He has made you king over them to carry out justice and righteousness.”

⁹於是示巴女王將一百二十他連得金子和寶石，與極多的香料送給所羅門王；她送給王的香料，以後再沒有這樣的。Then she gave the king 120 talents of gold, a great quantity of spices, and precious stones. There had never been such spices as those the queen of Sheba gave to King Solomon.

¹⁰希蘭的僕人和所羅門的僕人從俄斐運了金子來，也運了檀香木（或譯：烏木；下同）和寶石來。(The servants of Hiram and of Solomon who brought gold from Ophir also brought algum wood and precious stones.

¹¹王用檀香木為耶和華殿和王宮做臺，又為歌唱的人做琴瑟；猶大地從來沒有見過這樣的。The king made the algum wood into steps for the house of the LORD and for the king’s palace, and into lyres and harps for the singers. Never before had anything like them been seen in the land of Judah.)

¹²所羅門王按示巴女王所帶來的，還她禮物，另外照她一切所要所求的，都送給她。於是女王和她臣僕轉回本國去了。King Solomon gave the queen of Sheba all she desired—whatever she asked—far more than she had brought the king. Then she left and returned to her own country, along with her servants.

所羅門的財富

¹³所羅門每年所得的金子共有六百六十六他連得，The weight of gold that came to Solomon each year was 666 talents,

¹⁴另外還有商人所進的金子，並且阿拉伯諸王與屬國的省長都帶金銀給所羅門。not including the revenue from the merchants and traders. And all the Arabian kings and governors of the land also brought gold and silver to Solomon.

¹⁵所羅門王用錘出來的金子打成擋牌二百面，每面用金子六百舍客勒；King Solomon made two hundred large shields of hammered gold; six hundred shekels of hammered gold went into each shield.

¹⁶又用錘出來的金子打成盾牌三百面，每面用金子三百舍客勒，都放在黎巴嫩林宮裡。He also made three hundred small shields of hammered gold; three hundred shekels of gold went into each shield. And the king put them in the House of the Forest of Lebanon.

象牙寶座

¹⁷王用象牙製造一個大寶座，用精金包裹。Additionally, the king made a great throne of ivory and overlaid it with pure gold.

¹⁸寶座有六層臺階，又有金腳凳，與寶座相連。寶座兩旁有扶手，靠近扶手有兩個獅子站立。The throne had six steps, and a footstool of gold was attached to it. There were armrests on both sides of the seat, with a lion standing beside each armrest.

¹⁹六層臺階上有十二個獅子站立，每層有兩個：左邊一個，右邊一個；在列國中沒有這樣做的。Twelve lions stood on the six steps, one at either end of each step. Nothing like this had ever been made for any kingdom.

²⁰所羅門王一切的飲器都是金的，黎巴嫩林宮裡的一切器皿都是精金的。所羅門年間，銀子算不了甚麼。All King Solomon’s drinking cups were gold, and all the utensils of the House of the Forest of Lebanon were pure gold. There was no silver, because it was accounted as nothing in the days of Solomon.

²¹因為王的船隻與希蘭的僕人一同往他施去；他施船隻三年一次裝載金、銀、象牙、猿猴、孔雀回來。For the king had the ships of Tarshish that went with Hiram’s servants, and once every three years the ships of Tarshish would arrive bearing gold, silver, ivory, apes, and peacocks.

勝過天下的列王

²²所羅門王的財寶與智慧勝過天下的列王。So King Solomon surpassed all the kings of the earth in riches and wisdom.

²³普天下的王都求見所羅門，要聽　神賜給他智慧的話。All the kings of the earth sought an audience with Solomon to hear the wisdom that God had put in his heart.

²⁴他們各帶貢物，就是金器、銀器、衣服、軍械、香料、騾馬，每年有一定之例。Year after year, each visitor would bring his tribute: articles of silver and gold, clothing, weapons, spices, horses, and mules.

²⁵所羅門有套車的馬四千棚，有馬兵一萬二千，安置在屯車的城邑和耶路撒冷，就是王那裡。Solomon had 4,000 stalls for horses and chariots, and 12,000 horses, which he stationed in the chariot cities and also with him in Jerusalem.

²⁶所羅門統管諸王，從大河到非利士地，直到埃及的邊界。He reigned over all the kings from the Euphrates to the land of the Philistines, as far as the border of Egypt.

所羅門去世

²⁹所羅門其餘的事，自始至終，不都寫在先知拿單的書上和示羅人亞希雅的預言書上，並先見易多論尼八兒子耶羅波安的默示書上嗎？As for the rest of the acts of Solomon, from beginning to end, are they not written in the Records of Nathan the Prophet, in the Prophecy of Ahijah the Shilonite, and in the Visions of Iddo the Seer concerning Jeroboam son of Nebat?

³⁰所羅門在耶路撒冷作以色列眾人的王共四十年。Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel forty years.

³¹所羅門與他列祖同睡，葬在他父大衛城裡。他兒子羅波安接續他作王。And Solomon rested with his fathers and was buried in the city of his father David. And his son Rehoboam reigned in his place.

神向亞伯拉罕顯現

²司提反說：「諸位父兄請聽！當日我們的祖宗亞伯拉罕在美索不達米亞還未住哈蘭的時候，榮耀的　神向他顯現，And Stephen declared: “Brothers and fathers, listen to me! The God of glory appeared to our father Abraham while he was still in Mesopotamia, before he lived in Haran,

³對他說：『你要離開本地和親族，往我所要指示你的地方去。』and told him, ‘Leave your country and your kindred and go to the land I will show you.’

⁴他就離開迦勒底人之地，住在哈蘭。他父親死了以後，　神使他從那裡搬到你們現在所住之地。So Abraham left the land of the Chaldeans and settled in Haran. After his father died, God brought him out of that place and into this land where you are now living.

⁵在這地方，　神並沒有給他產業，連立足之地也沒有給他；但應許要將這地賜給他和他的後裔為業；那時他還沒有兒子。He gave him no inheritance here, not even a foot of ground. But God promised to give possession of the land to Abraham and his descendants, even though he did not yet have a child.

⁶神說：『他的後裔必寄居外邦，那裡的人要叫他們作奴僕，苦待他們四百年。』God told him that his descendants would be foreigners in a strange land, and that they would be enslaved and mistreated four hundred years.

⁷神又說：『使他們作奴僕的那國，我要懲罰。以後他們要出來，在這地方事奉我。』‘But I will punish the nation that enslaves them,’ God said, ‘and afterward they will come forth and worship Me in this place.’

⁸神又賜他割禮的約。於是亞伯拉罕生了以撒，第八日給他行了割禮。以撒生雅各；雅各生十二位先祖。Then God gave Abraham the covenant of circumcision, and Abraham became the father of Isaac and circumcised him on the eighth day. And Isaac became the father of Jacob, and Jacob of the twelve patriarchs.

約瑟被賣到埃及

⁹「先祖嫉妒約瑟，把他賣到埃及去；　神卻與他同在，Because the patriarchs were jealous of Joseph, they sold him as a slave into Egypt. But God was with him

¹⁰救他脫離一切苦難，又使他在埃及王法老面前得恩典，有智慧。法老就派他作埃及國的宰相兼管全家。and rescued him from all his troubles. He granted Joseph favor and wisdom in the sight of Pharaoh king of Egypt, who appointed him ruler over Egypt and all his household.

¹¹後來埃及和迦南全地遭遇饑荒，大受艱難，我們的祖宗就絕了糧。Then famine and great suffering swept across Egypt and Canaan, and our fathers could not find food.

¹²雅各聽見在埃及有糧，就打發我們的祖宗初次往那裡去。When Jacob heard that there was grain in Egypt, he sent our fathers on their first visit.

¹³第二次約瑟與弟兄們相認，他的親族也被法老知道了。On their second visit, Joseph revealed his identity to his brothers, and his family became known to Pharaoh.

¹⁴約瑟就打發弟兄請父親雅各和全家七十五個人都來。Then Joseph sent for his father Jacob and all his relatives, seventy-five in all.

¹⁵於是雅各下了埃及，後來他和我們的祖宗都死在那裡；So Jacob went down to Egypt, where he and our fathers died.

¹⁶又被帶到示劍，葬於亞伯拉罕在示劍用銀子從哈抹子孫買來的墳墓裡。Their bones were carried back to Shechem and placed in the tomb that Abraham had bought from the sons of Hamor at Shechem for a price he paid in silver.

新王苦害以色列人

¹⁷「及至　神應許亞伯拉罕的日期將到，以色列民在埃及興盛眾多，As the time drew near for God to fulfill His promise to Abraham, our people in Egypt increased greatly in number.

¹⁸直到有不曉得約瑟的新王興起。Then another king, who knew nothing of Joseph, arose over Egypt.

¹⁹他用詭計待我們的宗族，苦害我們的祖宗，叫他們丟棄嬰孩，使嬰孩不能存活。He exploited our people and oppressed our fathers, forcing them to abandon their infants so they would die.

摩西出生

²⁰那時，摩西生下來，俊美非凡，在他父親家裡撫養了三個月。At that time Moses was born, and he was beautiful in the sight of God. For three months he was nurtured in his father’s house.

²¹他被丟棄的時候，法老的女兒拾了去，養為自己的兒子。When he was set outside, Pharaoh’s daughter took him and brought him up as her own son.

²²摩西學了埃及人一切的學問，說話行事都有才能。So Moses was educated in all the wisdom of the Egyptians and was powerful in speech and action.

摩西被弟兄拒絕

²³「他將到四十歲，心中起意去看望他的弟兄以色列人；When Moses was forty years old, he decided to visit his brothers, the children of Israel.

²⁴到了那裡，見他們一個人受冤屈，就護庇他，為那受欺壓的人報仇，打死了那埃及人。And when he saw one of them being mistreated, Moses went to his defense and avenged him by striking down the Egyptian who was oppressing him.

²⁵他以為弟兄必明白　神是藉他的手搭救他們；他們卻不明白。He assumed his brothers would understand that God was using him to deliver them, but they did not.

²⁶第二天，遇見兩個以色列人爭鬥，就勸他們和睦，說：『你們二位是弟兄，為甚麼彼此欺負呢？』The next day he came upon two Israelites who were fighting, and he tried to reconcile them, saying, ‘Men, you are brothers. Why are you mistreating each other?’

²⁷那欺負鄰舍的把他推開，說：『誰立你作我們的首領和審判官呢？But the man who was abusing his neighbor pushed Moses aside and said, ‘Who made you ruler and judge over us?

²⁸難道你要殺我，像昨天殺那埃及人嗎？』Do you want to kill me as you killed the Egyptian yesterday?’

²⁹摩西聽見這話就逃走了，寄居於米甸；在那裡生了兩個兒子。At this remark, Moses fled to the land of Midian, where he lived as a foreigner and had two sons.

荊棘中的呼召

³⁰「過了四十年，在西奈山的曠野，有一位天使從荊棘火焰中向摩西顯現。After forty years had passed, an angel appeared to Moses in the flames of a burning bush in the desert near Mount Sinai.

³¹摩西見了那異象，便覺希奇，正進前觀看的時候，有主的聲音說：When Moses saw it, he marveled at the sight. As he approached to look more closely, the voice of the Lord came to him:

³²『我是你列祖的　神，就是亞伯拉罕的　神，以撒的　神，雅各的　神。』摩西戰戰兢兢，不敢觀看。‘I am the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.’ Moses trembled with fear and did not dare to look.

³³主對他說：『把你腳上的鞋脫下來，因為你所站之地是聖地。Then the Lord said to him, ‘Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.

³⁴我的百姓在埃及所受的困苦，我實在看見了，他們悲歎的聲音，我也聽見了。我下來要救他們。你來！我要差你往埃及去。』I have indeed seen the oppression of My people in Egypt. I have heard their groaning and have come down to deliver them. Now come, I will send you back to Egypt.’

被棄絕的摩西成了救贖者

³⁵這摩西就是百姓棄絕說『誰立你作我們的首領和審判官』的；　神卻藉那在荊棘中顯現之使者的手差派他作首領、作救贖的。This Moses, whom they had rejected with the words, ‘Who made you ruler and judge?’ is the one whom God sent to be their ruler and redeemer through the angel who appeared to him in the bush.

³⁶這人領百姓出來，在埃及，在紅海，在曠野，四十年間行了奇事神蹟。He led them out and performed wonders and signs in the land of Egypt, at the Red Sea, and for forty years in the wilderness.

³⁷那曾對以色列人說『　神要從你們弟兄中間給你們興起一位先知像我』的，就是這位摩西。This is the same Moses who told the Israelites, ‘God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your brothers.’

³⁸這人曾在曠野會中和西奈山上，與那對他說話的天使同在，又與我們的祖宗同在，並且領受活潑的聖言傳給我們。He was in the assembly in the wilderness with the angel who spoke to him on Mount Sinai, and with our fathers. And he received living words to pass on to us.

祖宗造牛犢

³⁹我們的祖宗不肯聽從，反棄絕他，心裡歸向埃及，But our fathers refused to obey him. Instead, they rejected him and in their hearts turned back to Egypt.

⁴⁰對亞倫說：『你且為我們造些神像，在我們前面引路；因為領我們出埃及地的那個摩西，我們不知道他遭了甚麼事。』They said to Aaron, ‘Make us gods who will go before us! As for this Moses who led us out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has happened to him.’

⁴¹那時，他們造了一個牛犢，又拿祭物獻給那像，歡喜自己手中的工作。At that time they made a calf and offered a sacrifice to the idol, rejoicing in the works of their hands.

⁴²神就轉臉不顧，任憑他們事奉天上的日月星辰，正如先知書上所寫的說：以色列家啊，你們四十年間在曠野，豈是將犧牲和祭物獻給我嗎？But God turned away from them and gave them over to the worship of the host of heaven, as it is written in the book of the prophets: ‘Did you bring Me sacrifices and offerings forty years in the wilderness, O house of Israel?

⁴³你們抬著摩洛的帳幕和理番神的星，就是你們所造為要敬拜的像。因此，我要把你們遷到巴比倫外去。You have taken along the tabernacle of Molech and the star of your god Rephan, the idols you made to worship. Therefore I will send you into exile beyond Babylon.’

⁴⁴「我們的祖宗在曠野，有法櫃的帳幕，是　神吩咐摩西叫他照所看見的樣式做的。Our fathers had the tabernacle of the Testimony with them in the wilderness. It was constructed exactly as God had directed Moses, according to the pattern he had seen.

⁴⁵這帳幕，我們的祖宗相繼承受。當　神在他們面前趕出外邦人去的時候，他們同約書亞把帳幕搬進承受為業之地，直存到大衛的日子。And our fathers who received it brought it in with Joshua when they dispossessed the nations God drove out before them. It remained until the time of David,

⁴⁶大衛在　神面前蒙恩，祈求為雅各的　神預備居所；who found favor in the sight of God and asked to provide a dwelling place for the God of Jacob.

⁴⁷卻是所羅門為　神造成殿宇。But it was Solomon who built the house for Him.

至高者不住人手所造的

⁴⁸其實，至高者並不住人手所造的，就如先知所言：However, the Most High does not dwell in houses made by human hands. As the prophet says:

⁴⁹主說：天是我的座位，地是我的腳凳；你們要為我造何等的殿宇？哪裡是我安息的地方呢？‘Heaven is My throne and the earth is My footstool. What kind of house will you build for Me, says the Lord, or where will My place of repose be?

⁵⁰這一切不都是我手所造的嗎？Has not My hand made all these things?’

你們常時抗拒聖靈

⁵¹「你們這硬著頸項、心與耳未受割禮的人，常時抗拒聖靈！你們的祖宗怎樣，你們也怎樣。You stiff-necked people with uncircumcised hearts and ears! You always resist the Holy Spirit, just as your fathers did.

⁵²哪一個先知不是你們祖宗逼迫呢？他們也把預先傳說那義者要來的人殺了；如今你們又把那義者賣了，殺了。Which of the prophets did your fathers fail to persecute? They even killed those who foretold the coming of the Righteous One. And now you are His betrayers and murderers—

⁵³你們受了天使所傳的律法，竟不遵守。」you who received the law ordained by angels, yet have not kept it.”
