大衛與眾人商議運約櫃

¹大衛與千夫長、百夫長，就是一切首領商議。Then David conferred with all his leaders, the commanders of thousands and of hundreds.

²大衛對以色列全會眾說：「你們若以為美，見這事是出於耶和華─我們的　神，我們就差遣人走遍以色列地，見我們未來的弟兄，又見住在有郊野之城的祭司利未人，使他們都到這裡來聚集。And he said to the whole assembly of Israel, “If it seems good to you, and if this is of the LORD our God, let us send word far and wide to the rest of our brothers in all the land of Israel, and also to the priests and Levites in their cities and pasturelands, so that they may join us.

³我們要把　神的約櫃運到我們這裡來；因為在掃羅年間，我們沒有在約櫃前求問　神。」Then let us bring back the ark of our God, for we did not inquire of Him in the days of Saul.”

⁴全會眾都說可以如此行；這事在眾民眼中都看為好。And because this proposal seemed right to all the people, the whole assembly agreed to it.

用新車運約櫃

⁵於是，大衛將以色列人從埃及的西曷河直到哈馬口都招聚了來，要從基列耶琳將　神的約櫃運來。So David assembled all Israel, from the River Shihor in Egypt to Lebo-hamath, to bring the ark of God from Kiriath-jearim.

⁶大衛率領以色列眾人上到巴拉，就是屬猶大的基列‧耶琳，要從那裡將約櫃運來。這約櫃就是坐在二基路伯上耶和華　神留名的約櫃。David and all Israel went up to Baalah of Judah (that is, Kiriath-jearim) to bring up from there the ark of God the LORD, who is enthroned between the cherubim—the ark that is called by the Name.

⁷他們將　神的約櫃從亞比拿達的家裡抬出來，放在新車上。烏撒和亞希約趕車。So they carried the ark of God from the house of Abinadab on a new cart, with Uzzah and Ahio guiding the cart.

⁸大衛和以色列眾人在　神前用琴、瑟、鑼、鼓、號作樂，極力跳舞歌唱。David and all the Israelites were celebrating before God with all their might, with songs and on harps and lyres, with tambourines, cymbals, and trumpets.

烏撒被擊殺

⁹到了基頓（在撒母耳下六章六節是拿艮）的禾場；因為牛失前蹄（或譯：驚跳），烏撒就伸手扶住約櫃。When they came to the threshing floor of Chidon, Uzzah reached out and took hold of the ark, because the oxen had stumbled.

¹⁰耶和華向他發怒，因他伸手扶住約櫃擊殺他，他就死在　神面前。And the anger of the LORD burned against Uzzah, and He struck him down because he had put his hand on the ark. So he died there before God.

¹¹大衛因耶和華擊殺（原文是闖殺）烏撒，心裡愁煩，就稱那地方為毘列斯‧烏撒，直到今日。Then David became angry because the LORD had burst forth against Uzzah. So he named that place Perez-uzzah, as it is called to this day.

約櫃暫放俄別‧以東家

¹²那日，大衛懼怕　神，說：「　神的約櫃怎可運到我這裡來？」That day David feared God and asked, “How can I ever bring the ark of God to me?”

¹³於是大衛不將約櫃運進大衛的城，卻運到迦特人俄別‧以東的家中。So he did not move the ark with him to the City of David; instead, he took it aside to the house of Obed-edom the Gittite.

¹⁴神的約櫃在俄別‧以東家中三個月，耶和華賜福給俄別‧以東的家和他一切所有的。Thus the ark of God remained with the family of Obed-edom in his house for three months, and the LORD blessed his household and everything he owned.

大衛建宮殿、家室興旺

¹泰爾王希蘭將香柏木運到大衛那裡，又差遣使者和石匠、木匠給大衛建造宮殿。Now Hiram king of Tyre sent envoys to David, along with cedar logs, stonemasons, and carpenters, to build a palace for him.

²大衛就知道耶和華堅立他作以色列王，又為自己的民以色列，使他的國興旺。And David realized that the LORD had established him as king over Israel and had highly exalted his kingdom for the sake of His people Israel.

³大衛在耶路撒冷又立后妃，又生兒女。And David took more wives in Jerusalem and became the father of more sons and daughters.

⁴在耶路撒冷所生的眾子是沙母亞、朔罷、拿單、所羅門、These are the names of the children born to him in Jerusalem: Shammua, Shobab, Nathan, Solomon,

⁵益轄、以利書亞、以法列、Ibhar, Elishua, Elpelet,

⁶挪迦、尼斐、雅非亞、Nogah, Nepheg, Japhia,

⁷以利沙瑪、比利雅大、以利法列。Elishama, Beeliada, and Eliphelet.

兩次打敗非利士人

⁸非利士人聽見大衛受膏作以色列眾人的王，非利士眾人就上來尋索大衛。大衛聽見，就出去迎敵。When the Philistines heard that David had been anointed king over all Israel, they all went in search of him; but David learned of this and went out to face them.

⁹非利士人來了，布散在利乏音谷。Now the Philistines had come and raided the Valley of Rephaim.

¹⁰大衛求問　神，說：「我可以上去攻打非利士人嗎？你將他們交在我手裡嗎？」耶和華說：「你可以上去，我必將他們交在你手裡。」So David inquired of God, “Should I go up against the Philistines? Will You deliver them into my hand?” “Go,” replied the LORD, “for I will deliver them into your hand.”

¹¹非利士人來到巴力‧毘拉心，大衛在那裡殺敗他們。大衛說：「　神藉我的手沖破敵人，如同水沖去一般」；因此稱那地方為巴力‧毘拉心。So David and his men went up to Baal-perazim, where he defeated the Philistines and said, “Like a bursting flood, God has burst out against my enemies by my hand.” So they called that place Baal-perazim.

¹²非利士人將神像撇在那裡，大衛吩咐人用火焚燒了。There the Philistines abandoned their gods, and David ordered that they be burned in the fire.

¹³非利士人又布散在利乏音谷。Once again the Philistines raided the valley.

¹⁴大衛又求問　神。　神說：「不要一直地上去，要轉到他們後頭，從桑林對面攻打他們。So David again inquired of God, who answered him, “Do not march up after them, but circle around them and attack them in front of the balsam trees.

¹⁵你聽見桑樹梢上有腳步的聲音，就要出戰，因為　神已經在你前頭去攻打非利士人的軍隊。」As soon as you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the balsam trees, move out to battle, because this will mean that God has gone out before you to strike the camp of the Philistines.”

¹⁶大衛就遵著　神所吩咐的，攻打非利士人的軍隊，從基遍直到基色。So David did as God had commanded him, and they struck down the army of the Philistines all the way from Gibeon to Gezer.

¹⁷於是大衛的名傳揚到列國，耶和華使列國都懼怕他。And David’s fame went out into every land, and the LORD caused all nations to fear him.

預備地方，命利未人抬約櫃

¹大衛在大衛城為自己建造宮殿，又為　神的約櫃預備地方，支搭帳幕。David constructed buildings for himself in the City of David, and he prepared a place for the ark of God and pitched a tent for it.

²那時大衛說：「除了利未人之外，無人可抬　神的約櫃；因為耶和華揀選他們抬　神的約櫃，且永遠事奉他。」Then David said, “No one but the Levites may carry the ark of God, because the LORD has chosen them to carry the ark of the LORD and to minister before Him forever.”

³大衛招聚以色列眾人到耶路撒冷，要將耶和華的約櫃抬到他所預備的地方。And David assembled all Israel in Jerusalem to bring up the ark of the LORD to the place he had prepared for it.

⁴大衛又聚集亞倫的子孫和利未人。Then he gathered together the descendants of Aaron and the Levites:

⁵哥轄子孫中有族長烏列和他的弟兄一百二十人。From the Kohathites, Uriel the chief and 120 of his relatives;

⁶米拉利子孫中有族長亞帥雅和他的弟兄二百二十人。from the Merarites, Asaiah the chief and 220 of his relatives;

⁷革順子孫中有族長約珥和他的弟兄一百三十人。from the Gershomites, Joel the chief and 130 of his relatives;

⁸以利撒反子孫中有族長示瑪雅和他的弟兄二百人。from the Elizaphanites, Shemaiah the chief and 200 of his relatives;

⁹希伯崙子孫中有族長以列和他的弟兄八十人。from the Hebronites, Eliel the chief and 80 of his relatives;

¹⁰烏薛子孫中有族長亞米拿達和他的弟兄一百一十二人。and from the Uzzielites, Amminadab the chief and 112 of his relatives.

¹¹大衛將祭司撒督和亞比亞他，並利未人烏列、亞帥雅、約珥、示瑪雅、以列、亞米拿達召來，David summoned the priests Zadok and Abiathar and the Levites Uriel, Asaiah, Joel, Shemaiah, Eliel, and Amminadab.

¹²對他們說：「你們是利未人的族長，你們和你們的弟兄應當自潔，好將耶和華─以色列　神的約櫃抬到我所預備的地方。And he said to them, “You are the heads of the Levitical families. You and your relatives must consecrate yourselves so that you may bring the ark of the LORD, the God of Israel, to the place I have prepared for it.

¹³因你們先前沒有抬這約櫃，按定例求問耶和華─我們的　神，所以他刑罰（原文是闖殺）我們。」It was because you Levites were not with us the first time that the LORD our God burst forth in anger against us. For we did not consult Him about the proper order.”

¹⁴於是祭司利未人自潔，好將耶和華─以色列　神的約櫃抬上來。So the priests and Levites consecrated themselves to bring up the ark of the LORD, the God of Israel.

¹⁵利未子孫就用槓，肩抬　神的約櫃，是照耶和華藉摩西所吩咐的。And the Levites carried the ark of God on their shoulders with the poles, as Moses had commanded in accordance with the word of the LORD.

派定歌唱奏樂的利未人

¹⁶大衛吩咐利未人的族長，派他們歌唱的弟兄用琴瑟和鈸作樂，歡歡喜喜地大聲歌頌。David also told the leaders of the Levites to appoint their relatives as singers to lift up their voices with joy, accompanied by musical instruments—harps, lyres, and cymbals.

¹⁷於是利未人派約珥的兒子希幔和他弟兄中比利家的兒子亞薩，並他們族弟兄米拉利子孫裡古沙雅的兒子以探。So the Levites appointed Heman son of Joel; from his brothers, Asaph son of Berechiah; from their brothers the Merarites, Ethan son of Kushaiah;

¹⁸其次還有他們的弟兄撒迦利雅、便‧雅薛、示米拉末、耶歇、烏尼、以利押、比拿雅、瑪西雅、瑪他提雅、以利斐利戶、彌克尼雅，並守門的俄別‧以東和耶利。and with them their brothers next in rank: Zechariah, Jaaziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Benaiah, Maaseiah, Mattithiah, Eliphelehu, Mikneiah, and the gatekeepers Obed-edom and Jeiel.

¹⁹這樣，派歌唱的希幔、亞薩、以探敲銅鈸，大發響聲；The musicians Heman, Asaph, and Ethan were to sound the bronze cymbals.

²⁰派撒迦利雅、雅薛、示米拉末、耶歇、烏尼、以利押、瑪西雅、比拿雅鼓瑟，調用女音；Zechariah, Aziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Maaseiah, and Benaiah were to play the harps according to Alamoth.

²¹又派瑪他提雅、以利斐利戶、彌克尼雅、俄別‧以東、耶利、亞撒西雅領首彈琴，調用第八。And Mattithiah, Eliphelehu, Mikneiah, Obed-edom, Jeiel, and Azaziah were to lead the music with lyres according to Sheminith.

²²利未人的族長基拿尼雅是歌唱人的首領，又教訓人歌唱，因為他精通此事。Chenaniah the head Levite was the director of the music because he was highly skilled.

²³比利家、以利加拿是約櫃前守門的。Berechiah and Elkanah were to be guardians of the ark.

²⁴祭司示巴尼、約沙法、拿坦業、亞瑪賽、撒迦利雅、比拿亞、以利以謝在　神的約櫃前吹號。俄別‧以東和耶希亞也是約櫃前守門的。Shebaniah, Joshaphat, Nethanel, Amasai, Zechariah, Benaiah, and Eliezer—the priests—were to blow the trumpets before the ark of God. Obed-edom and Jehiah were also to be guardians of the ark.

歡歡喜喜抬約櫃進城

²⁵於是，大衛和以色列的長老，並千夫長都去從俄別‧以東的家歡歡喜喜地將耶和華的約櫃抬上來。So David, the elders of Israel, and the commanders of thousands went with rejoicing to bring the ark of the covenant of the LORD from the house of Obed-edom.

²⁶神賜恩與抬耶和華約櫃的利未人，他們就獻上七隻公牛，七隻公羊。And because God helped the Levites who were carrying the ark of the covenant of the LORD, they sacrificed seven bulls and seven rams.

²⁷大衛和抬約櫃的利未人，並歌唱人的首領基拿尼雅，以及歌唱的人，都穿著細麻布的外袍；大衛另外穿著細麻布的以弗得。Now David was dressed in a robe of fine linen, as were all the Levites who were carrying the ark, as well as the singers and Chenaniah, the director of music for the singers. David also wore a linen ephod.

²⁸這樣，以色列眾人歡呼吹角、吹號、敲鈸、鼓瑟、彈琴，大發響聲，將耶和華的約櫃抬上來。So all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of the LORD with shouting, with the sounding of rams’ horns and trumpets, and with cymbals and the music of harps and lyres.

米甲心裡輕視大衛

²⁹耶和華的約櫃進了大衛城的時候，掃羅的女兒米甲從窗戶裡觀看，見大衛王踴躍跳舞，心裡就輕視他。As the ark of the covenant of the LORD was entering the City of David, Saul’s daughter Michal looked down from a window and saw King David dancing and celebrating, and she despised him in her heart.

安放約櫃、獻祭祝福

¹眾人將　神的約櫃請進去，安放在大衛所搭的帳幕裡，就在　神面前獻燔祭和平安祭。So they brought the ark of God and placed it inside the tent that David had pitched for it. And they presented burnt offerings and peace offerings before God.

²大衛獻完了燔祭和平安祭，就奉耶和華的名給民祝福，When David had finished sacrificing the burnt offerings and peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the LORD.

³並且分給以色列人，無論男女，每人一個餅，一塊肉，一個葡萄餅。Then he distributed to every man and woman of Israel a loaf of bread, a date cake, and a raisin cake.

⁴大衛派幾個利未人在耶和華的約櫃前事奉，頌揚，稱謝，讚美耶和華─以色列的　神：David appointed some of the Levites to minister before the ark of the LORD, to celebrate, to give thanks, and to praise the LORD, the God of Israel.

⁶祭司比拿雅和雅哈悉常在　神的約櫃前吹號。and the priests Benaiah and Jahaziel blew the trumpets regularly before the ark of the covenant of God.

大衛的稱謝詩

⁷那日，大衛初次藉亞薩和他的弟兄以詩歌稱頌耶和華，說：On that day David first committed to Asaph and his associates this song of thanksgiving to the LORD:

⁸你們要稱謝耶和華，求告他的名，在萬民中傳揚他的作為！“Give thanks to the LORD; call upon His name; make known His deeds among the nations.

⁹要向他唱詩、歌頌，談論他一切奇妙的作為。Sing to Him, sing praises to Him; tell of all His wonders.

¹⁰要以他的聖名誇耀；尋求耶和華的人，心中應當歡喜。Glory in His holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice.

¹¹要尋求耶和華與他的能力，時常尋求他的面。Seek out the LORD and His strength; seek His face always.

^12–13他僕人以色列的後裔，他所揀選雅各的子孫哪，你們要記念他奇妙的作為和他的奇事，並他口中的判語。Remember the wonders He has done, His marvels, and the judgments He has pronounced, O offspring of His servant Israel, O sons of Jacob, His chosen ones.

¹⁴他是耶和華─我們的　神，全地都有他的判斷。He is the LORD our God; His judgments carry throughout the earth.

¹⁵你們要記念他的約，直到永遠；他所吩咐的話，直到千代，Remember His covenant forever, the word He ordained for a thousand generations—

¹⁶就是與亞伯拉罕所立的約，向以撒所起的誓。the covenant He made with Abraham, and the oath He swore to Isaac.

¹⁷他又將這約向雅各定為律例，向以色列定為永遠的約，He confirmed it to Jacob as a decree, to Israel as an everlasting covenant:

¹⁸說：我必將迦南地賜給你，作你產業的分。‘I will give you the land of Canaan as the portion of your inheritance.’

¹⁹當時你們人丁有限，數目稀少，並且在那地為寄居的；When they were few in number, few indeed, and strangers in the land,

²⁰他們從這邦游到那邦，從這國行到那國。they wandered from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another.

²¹耶和華不容甚麼人欺負他們，為他們的緣故責備君王，He let no man oppress them; He rebuked kings on their behalf:

²²說：不可難為我受膏的人，也不可惡待我的先知！‘Do not touch My anointed ones! Do no harm to My prophets!’

²³全地都要向耶和華歌唱！天天傳揚他的救恩，Sing to the LORD, all the earth. Proclaim His salvation day after day.

²⁴在列邦中述說他的榮耀，在萬民中述說他的奇事。Declare His glory among the nations, His wonders among all peoples.

²⁵因耶和華為大，當受極大的讚美；他在萬　神之上，當受敬畏。For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; He is to be feared above all gods.

²⁶外邦的神都屬虛無，惟獨耶和華創造諸天。For all the gods of the nations are idols, but it is the LORD who made the heavens.

²⁷有尊榮和威嚴在他面前，有能力和喜樂在他聖所。Splendor and majesty are before Him; strength and joy fill His dwelling.

²⁸民中的萬族啊，你們要將榮耀能力歸給耶和華，都歸給耶和華！Ascribe to the LORD, O families of the nations, ascribe to the LORD glory and strength.

²⁹要將耶和華的名所當得的榮耀歸給他，拿供物來奉到他面前；當以聖潔的（的：或譯為）妝飾敬拜耶和華。Ascribe to the LORD the glory due His name; bring an offering and come before Him. Worship the LORD in the splendor of His holiness;

³⁰全地要在他面前戰抖，世界也堅定不得動搖。tremble before Him, all the earth. The world is firmly established; it cannot be moved.

³¹願天歡喜，願地快樂；願人在列邦中說：耶和華作王了！Let the heavens be glad, and the earth rejoice. Let them say among the nations, ‘The LORD reigns!’

³²願海和其中所充滿的澎湃；願田和其中所有的都歡樂。Let the sea resound, and all that fills it; let the fields exult, and all that is in them.

³³那時，林中的樹木都要在耶和華面前歡呼，因為他來要審判全地。Then the trees of the forest will sing for joy before the LORD, for He is coming to judge the earth.

³⁵要說：拯救我們的　神啊，求你救我們，聚集我們，使我們脫離外邦，我們好稱讚你的聖名，以讚美你為誇勝。Then cry out: ‘Save us, O God of our salvation; gather and deliver us from the nations, that we may give thanks to Your holy name, that we may glory in Your praise.’

³⁶耶和華─以色列的　神，從亙古直到永遠，是應當稱頌的！眾民都說：「阿們！」並且讚美耶和華。Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting.” Then all the people said, “Amen!” and “Praise the LORD!”

在約櫃前常常事奉

³⁷大衛派亞薩和他的弟兄在約櫃前常常事奉耶和華，一日盡一日的職分；So David left Asaph and his associates there before the ark of the covenant of the LORD, to minister there regularly according to the daily requirements,

³⁸又派俄別‧以東和他的弟兄六十八人，與耶杜頓的兒子俄別‧以東，並何薩作守門的；along with Obed-edom and his sixty-eight relatives. Obed-edom son of Jeduthun, and also Hosah, were to be gatekeepers.

^39–40且派祭司撒督和他弟兄眾祭司在基遍的邱壇、耶和華的帳幕前燔祭壇上，每日早晚，照著耶和華律法書上所吩咐以色列人的，常給耶和華獻燔祭。And David left Zadok the priest and his fellow priests before the tabernacle of the LORD at the high place in Gibeon to regularly present burnt offerings to the LORD on the altar of burnt offerings, morning and evening, according to all that was written in the Law of the LORD, which He had commanded Israel to keep.

⁴¹與他們一同被派的有希幔、耶杜頓，和其餘被選名字錄在冊上的，稱謝耶和華，因他的慈愛永遠長存。With them were Heman, Jeduthun, and the rest of those chosen and designated by name to give thanks to the LORD, for “His loving devotion endures forever.”

⁴²希幔、耶杜頓同著他們吹號、敲鈸，大發響聲，並用別的樂器隨著歌頌　神。耶杜頓的子孫作守門的。Heman and Jeduthun had with them trumpets and cymbals for the music and instruments for the songs of God. And the sons of Jeduthun were stationed at the gate.

⁴³於是眾民各歸各家；大衛也回去為家眷祝福。Then all the people departed for their homes, and David returned home to bless his household.

五旬節，門徒聚集在一處

¹五旬節到了，門徒都聚集在一處。When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place.

大風的響聲，火焰般的舌頭

²忽然，從天上有響聲下來，好像一陣大風吹過，充滿了他們所坐的屋子，Suddenly a sound like a mighty rushing wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting.

³又有舌頭如火焰顯現出來，分開落在他們各人頭上。They saw tongues like flames of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them.

被聖靈充滿，說起別國的話

⁴他們就都被聖靈充滿，按著聖靈所賜的口才說起別國的話來。And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.

各國的人聽見自己的鄉談

⁵那時，有虔誠的猶太人從天下各國來，住在耶路撒冷。Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem God-fearing Jews from every nation under heaven.

⁶這聲音一響，眾人都來聚集，各人聽見門徒用眾人的鄉談說話，就甚納悶；And when this sound rang out, a crowd came together in bewilderment, because each one heard them speaking his own language.

⁷都驚訝希奇說：「看哪，這說話的不都是加利利人嗎？Astounded and amazed, they asked, “Are not all these who are speaking Galileans?

⁸我們各人怎麼聽見他們說我們生來所用的鄉談呢？How is it then that each of us hears them in his own native language?

⁹我們帕提亞人、米底亞人、以攔人，和住在美索不達米亞、猶太、加帕多家、本都、亞細亞、Parthians, Medes, and Elamites; residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia,

¹⁰弗呂家、旁非利亞、埃及的人，並靠近古利奈的利比亞一帶地方的人，從羅馬來的客旅中，或是猶太人，或是進猶太教的人，Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya near Cyrene; visitors from Rome,

¹¹克里特和阿拉伯人，都聽見他們用我們的鄉談，講說　神的大作為。」both Jews and converts to Judaism; Cretans and Arabs—we hear them declaring the wonders of God in our own tongues!”

驚訝與譏誚

¹²眾人就都驚訝猜疑，彼此說：「這是甚麼意思呢？」Astounded and perplexed, they asked one another, “What does this mean?”

¹³還有人譏誚說：「他們無非是新酒灌滿了。」But others mocked them and said, “They are drunk on new wine!”
