約書亞召聚眾領袖

¹耶和華使以色列人安靜，不與四圍的一切仇敵爭戰，已經多日。約書亞年紀老邁，A long time after the LORD had given Israel rest from all the enemies around them, when Joshua was old and well along in years,

²就把以色列眾人的長老、族長、審判官，並官長都召了來，對他們說：「我年紀已經老邁。he summoned all Israel, including its elders, leaders, judges, and officers. “I am old and well along in years,” he said,

³耶和華─你們的　神因你們的緣故向那些國所行的一切事，你們親眼看見了，因那為你們爭戰的是耶和華─你們的　神。“and you have seen everything that the LORD your God has done to all these nations for your sake, because it was the LORD your God who fought for you.

⁴我所剪除和所剩下的各國，從約旦河起到日落之處的大海，我已經拈鬮分給你們各支派為業。See, I have allotted as an inheritance to your tribes these remaining nations, including all the nations I have already cut off, from the Jordan westward to the Great Sea.

⁵耶和華─你們的　神必將他們從你們面前趕出去，使他們離開你們，你們就必得他們的地為業，正如耶和華─你們的　神所應許的。The LORD your God will push them out of your way and drive them out before you, so that you can take possession of their land, as the LORD your God promised you.

謹守律法，專靠耶和華

⁶所以，你們要大大壯膽，謹守遵行寫在摩西律法書上的一切話，不可偏離左右。Be very strong, then, so that you can keep and obey all that is written in the Book of the Law of Moses, not turning aside from it to the right or to the left.

⁷不可與你們中間所剩下的這些國民攙雜。他們的神，你們不可提他的名，不可指著他起誓，也不可事奉、叩拜；So you are not to associate with these nations that remain among you. You must not call on the names of their gods or swear by them, and you must not serve them or bow down to them.

⁸只要照著你們到今日所行的，專靠耶和華─你們的　神。Instead, you shall hold fast to the LORD your God, as you have done to this day.

⁹因為耶和華已經把又大又強的國民從你們面前趕出；直到今日，沒有一人在你們面前站立得住。The LORD has driven out great and powerful nations before you, and to this day no one can stand against you.

¹⁰你們一人必追趕千人，因耶和華─你們的　神照他所應許的，為你們爭戰。One of you can put a thousand to flight, because the LORD your God fights for you, just as He promised.

¹¹你們要分外謹慎，愛耶和華─你們的　神。Therefore watch yourselves carefully, that you love the LORD your God.

若與列國聯絡

¹²你們若稍微轉去，與你們中間所剩下的這些國民聯絡，彼此結親，互相往來，For if you turn away and cling to the rest of these nations that remain among you, and if you intermarry and associate with them,

¹³你們要確實知道，耶和華─你們的　神必不再將他們從你們眼前趕出；他們卻要成為你們的網羅、機檻、肋上的鞭、眼中的刺，直到你們在耶和華─你們　神所賜的這美地上滅亡。know for sure that the LORD your God will no longer drive out these nations before you. Instead, they will become for you a snare and a trap, a scourge in your sides and thorns in your eyes, until you perish from this good land that the LORD your God has given you.

神的話一句也沒有落空

¹⁴「我現在要走世人必走的路。你們是一心一意地知道，耶和華─你們　神所應許賜福與你們的話沒有一句落空，都應驗在你們身上了。Now behold, today I am going the way of all the earth, and you know with all your heart and soul that not one of the good promises the LORD your God made to you has failed. Everything was fulfilled for you; not one promise has failed.

¹⁵耶和華─你們　神所應許的一切福氣怎樣臨到你們身上，耶和華也必照樣使各樣禍患臨到你們身上，直到把你們從耶和華─你們　神所賜的這美地上除滅。But just as every good thing the LORD your God promised you has come to pass, likewise the LORD will bring upon you the calamity He has threatened, until He has destroyed you from this good land He has given you.

¹⁶你們若違背耶和華─你們　神吩咐你們所守的約，去事奉別神，叩拜他，耶和華的怒氣必向你們發作，使你們在他所賜的美地上速速滅亡。」If you transgress the covenant of the LORD your God, which He commanded you, and go and serve other gods and bow down to them, then the anger of the LORD will burn against you, and you will quickly perish from this good land He has given you.”

在示劍召聚眾支派

¹約書亞將以色列的眾支派聚集在示劍，召了以色列的長老、族長、審判官，並官長來，他們就站在　神面前。Then Joshua assembled all the tribes of Israel at Shechem. He summoned the elders, leaders, judges, and officers of Israel, and they presented themselves before God.

神從亞伯拉罕以來的作為

²約書亞對眾民說：「耶和華─以色列的　神如此說：『古時你們的列祖，就是亞伯拉罕和拿鶴的父親他拉，住在大河那邊事奉別神，And Joshua said to all the people, “This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: ‘Long ago your fathers, including Terah the father of Abraham and Nahor, lived beyond the Euphrates and worshiped other gods.

³我將你們的祖宗亞伯拉罕從大河那邊帶來，領他走遍迦南全地，又使他的子孫眾多，把以撒賜給他；But I took your father Abraham from beyond the Euphrates and led him through all the land of Canaan, and I multiplied his descendants. I gave him Isaac,

⁴又把雅各和以掃賜給以撒，將西珥山賜給以掃為業；後來雅各和他的子孫下到埃及去了。and to Isaac I gave Jacob and Esau. I gave Esau Mount Seir to possess, but Jacob and his sons went down to Egypt.

⁵我差遣摩西、亞倫，並照我在埃及中所行的降災與埃及，然後把你們領出來。Then I sent Moses and Aaron, and I afflicted the Egyptians by what I did there, and afterward I brought you out.

⁶我領你們列祖出埃及，他們就到了紅海；埃及人帶領車輛馬兵追趕你們列祖到紅海。When I brought your fathers out of Egypt and you reached the Red Sea, the Egyptians pursued them with chariots and horsemen as far as the Red Sea.

⁷你們列祖哀求耶和華，他就使你們和埃及人中間黑暗了，又使海水淹沒埃及人。我在埃及所行的事，你們親眼見過。你們在曠野也住了許多年日。So your fathers cried out to the LORD, and He put darkness between you and the Egyptians, over whom He brought the sea and engulfed them. Your very eyes saw what I did to the Egyptians. Then you lived in the wilderness for a long time.

⁸我領你們到約旦河東亞摩利人所住之地。他們與你們爭戰，我將他們交在你們手中，你們便得了他們的地為業；我也在你們面前將他們滅絕。Later, I brought you to the land of the Amorites who lived beyond the Jordan. They fought against you, but I delivered them into your hand, that you should possess their land when I destroyed them before you.

⁹那時，摩押王西撥的兒子巴勒起來攻擊以色列人，打發人召了比珥的兒子巴蘭來咒詛你們。Then Balak son of Zippor, the king of Moab, set out to fight against Israel. He sent for Balaam son of Beor to curse you,

¹⁰我不肯聽巴蘭的話，所以他倒為你們連連祝福。這樣，我便救你們脫離巴勒的手。but I would not listen to Balaam. So he blessed you again and again, and I delivered you from his hand.

¹¹你們過了約旦河，到了耶利哥；耶利哥人、亞摩利人、比利洗人、迦南人、赫人、革迦撒人、希未人、耶布斯人都與你們爭戰；我把他們交在你們手裡。After this, you crossed the Jordan and came to Jericho. The people of Jericho fought against you, as did the Amorites, Perizzites, Canaanites, Hittites, Girgashites, Hivites, and Jebusites, and I delivered them into your hand.

¹²我打發黃蜂飛在你們前面，將亞摩利人的二王從你們面前攆出，並不是用你的刀，也不是用你的弓。I sent the hornet ahead of you, and it drove out the two Amorite kings before you, but not by your own sword or bow.

¹³我賜給你們地土，非你們所修治的；我賜給你們城邑，非你們所建造的。你們就住在其中，又得吃非你們所栽種的葡萄園、橄欖園的果子。』So I gave you a land on which you did not toil and cities that you did not build, and now you live in them and eat from vineyards and olive groves that you did not plant.’

要選擇事奉誰

¹⁴「現在你們要敬畏耶和華，誠心實意地事奉他，將你們列祖在大河那邊和在埃及所事奉的神除掉，去事奉耶和華。Now, therefore, fear the LORD and serve Him in sincerity and truth; cast aside the gods your fathers served beyond the Euphrates and in Egypt, and serve the LORD.

¹⁵若是你們以事奉耶和華為不好，今日就可以選擇所要事奉的：是你們列祖在大河那邊所事奉的神呢？是你們所住這地的亞摩利人的神呢？至於我和我家，我們必定事奉耶和華。」But if it is unpleasing in your sight to serve the LORD, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living. As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD!”

百姓回答要事奉耶和華

¹⁶百姓回答說：「我們斷不敢離棄耶和華去事奉別神；The people replied, “Far be it from us to forsake the LORD to serve other gods!

¹⁷因耶和華─我們的　神曾將我們和我們列祖從埃及地的為奴之家領出來，在我們眼前行了那些大神蹟，在我們所行的道上，所經過的諸國，都保護了我們。For the LORD our God brought us and our fathers out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery, and performed these great signs before our eyes. He also protected us throughout our journey and among all the nations through which we traveled.

¹⁸耶和華又把住此地的亞摩利人都從我們面前趕出去。所以，我們必事奉耶和華，因為他是我們的　神。」And the LORD drove out before us all the nations, including the Amorites who lived in the land. We too will serve the LORD, because He is our God!”

你們不能事奉耶和華

¹⁹約書亞對百姓說：「你們不能事奉耶和華；因為他是聖潔的　神，是忌邪的　神，必不赦免你們的過犯罪惡。But Joshua said to the people, “You are not able to serve the LORD, for He is a holy God; He is a jealous God; He will not forgive your rebellion or your sins.

²⁰你們若離棄耶和華去事奉外邦神，耶和華在降福之後，必轉而降禍與你們，把你們滅絕。」If you forsake the LORD and serve foreign gods, He will turn and bring disaster on you and consume you, even after He has been good to you.”

²¹百姓回答約書亞說：「不然，我們定要事奉耶和華。」“No!” replied the people. “We will serve the LORD!”

²²約書亞對百姓說：「你們選定耶和華，要事奉他，你們自己作見證吧！」他們說：「我們願意作見證。」Then Joshua told them, “You are witnesses against yourselves that you have chosen to serve the LORD.” “We are witnesses!” they said.

²³約書亞說：「你們現在要除掉你們中間的外邦神，專心歸向耶和華─以色列的　神。」“Now, therefore,” he said, “get rid of the foreign gods among you and incline your hearts to the LORD, the God of Israel.”

²⁴百姓回答約書亞說：「我們必事奉耶和華─我們的　神，聽從他的話。」So the people said to Joshua, “We will serve the LORD our God and obey His voice.”

在示劍立約

²⁵當日，約書亞就與百姓立約，在示劍為他們立定律例典章。On that day Joshua made a covenant for the people, and there at Shechem he established for them a statute and ordinance.

²⁶約書亞將這些話都寫在　神的律法書上，又將一塊大石頭立在橡樹下耶和華的聖所旁邊。Joshua recorded these things in the Book of the Law of God. Then he took a large stone and set it up there under the oak that was near the sanctuary of the LORD.

²⁷約書亞對百姓說：「看哪，這石頭可以向我們作見證；因為是聽見了耶和華所吩咐我們的一切話，倘或你們背棄你們的　神，這石頭就可以向你們作見證（倘或...見證：或譯所以要向你們作見證，免得你們背棄耶和華─你們的　神）。」And Joshua said to all the people, “You see this stone. It will be a witness against us, for it has heard all the words the LORD has spoken to us, and it will be a witness against you if you ever deny your God.”

²⁸於是約書亞打發百姓各歸自己的地業去了。Then Joshua sent the people away, each to his own inheritance.

約書亞去世

²⁹這些事以後，耶和華的僕人嫩的兒子約書亞，正一百一十歲，就死了。Some time later, Joshua son of Nun, the servant of the LORD, died at the age of 110.

³⁰以色列人將他葬在他地業的境內，就是在以法蓮山地的亭拿‧西拉，在迦實山的北邊。And they buried him in the land of his inheritance, at Timnath-serah in the hill country of Ephraim, north of Mount Gaash.

³¹約書亞在世和約書亞死後，那些知道耶和華為以色列人所行諸事的長老還在的時候，以色列人事奉耶和華。Israel had served the LORD throughout the days of Joshua and of the elders who outlived him and who had experienced all the works that the LORD had done for Israel.

約瑟的骸骨葬在示劍

³²以色列人從埃及所帶來約瑟的骸骨，葬埋在示劍，就是在雅各從前用一百塊銀子向示劍的父親、哈抹的子孫所買的那塊地裡；這就作了約瑟子孫的產業。And the bones of Joseph, which the Israelites had brought up out of Egypt, were buried at Shechem in the plot of land that Jacob had purchased from the sons of Hamor, Shechem’s father, for a hundred pieces of silver. So it became an inheritance for Joseph’s descendants.

³³亞倫的兒子以利亞撒也死了，就把他葬在他兒子非尼哈所得以法蓮山地的小山上。Eleazar son of Aaron also died, and they buried him at Gibeah, which had been given to his son Phinehas in the hill country of Ephraim.

馬大接待耶穌

³⁸他們走路的時候，耶穌進了一個村莊。有一個女人，名叫馬大，接他到自己家裡。As they traveled along, Jesus entered a village where a woman named Martha welcomed Him into her home.

³⁹她有一個妹子，名叫馬利亞，在耶穌腳前坐著聽他的道。She had a sister named Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to His message.

馬大心裡忙亂

⁴⁰馬大伺候的事多，心裡忙亂，就進前來，說：「主啊，我的妹子留下我一個人伺候，你不在意嗎？請吩咐她來幫助我。」But Martha was distracted by all the preparations to be made. She came to Jesus and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her to help me!”

不可少的只有一件

⁴¹耶穌回答說：「馬大！馬大！你為許多的事思慮煩擾，“Martha, Martha,” the Lord replied, “you are worried and upset about many things.

⁴²但是不可少的只有一件；馬利亞已經選擇那上好的福分，是不能奪去的。」But only one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, and it will not be taken away from her.”

求主教導我們禱告

¹耶穌在一個地方禱告；禱告完了，有個門徒對他說：「求主教導我們禱告，像約翰教導他的門徒。」One day in a place where Jesus had just finished praying, one of His disciples requested, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.”

主禱文

²耶穌說：「你們禱告的時候，要說：我們在天上的父（有古卷：父啊）：願人都尊你的名為聖。願你的國降臨；願你的旨意行在地上，如同行在天上（有古卷沒有願你的旨意....）。So Jesus told them, “When you pray, say: ‘Father, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come.

³我們日用的飲食，天天賜給我們。Give us each day our daily bread.

⁴赦免我們的罪，因為我們也赦免凡虧欠我們的人。不叫我們遇見試探；救我們脫離凶惡（有古卷沒有末句）。」And forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us. And lead us not into temptation.’”

半夜借餅的朋友

⁵耶穌又說：「你們中間誰有一個朋友半夜到他那裡去，說：『朋友！請借給我三個餅；Then Jesus said to them, “Suppose one of you goes to his friend at midnight and says, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves of bread,

⁶因為我有一個朋友行路，來到我這裡，我沒有甚麼給他擺上。』because a friend of mine has come to me on a journey, and I have nothing to set before him.’

⁷那人在裡面回答說：『不要攪擾我，門已經關閉，孩子們也同我在床上了，我不能起來給你。』And suppose the one inside answers, ‘Do not bother me. My door is already shut, and my children and I are in bed. I cannot get up to give you anything.’

⁸我告訴你們，雖不因他是朋友起來給他，但因他情詞迫切地直求，就必起來照他所需用的給他。I tell you, even though he will not get up to provide for him because of his friendship, yet because of the man’s persistence, he will get up and give him as much as he needs.

祈求、尋找、叩門

⁹我又告訴你們，你們祈求，就給你們；尋找，就尋見；叩門，就給你們開門。So I tell you: Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.

¹⁰因為，凡祈求的，就得著；尋找的，就尋見；叩門的，就給他開門。For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.

天父必將聖靈給求祂的人

¹¹你們中間作父親的，誰有兒子求餅，反給他石頭呢？求魚，反拿蛇當魚給他呢？What father among you, if his son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead?

¹²求雞蛋，反給他蠍子呢？Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion?

¹³你們雖然不好，尚且知道拿好東西給兒女；何況天父，豈不更將聖靈給求他的人嗎？」So if you who are evil know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”
