攻取瑪基大和立拿

²⁸當日，約書亞奪了瑪基大，用刀擊殺城中的人和王；將其中一切人口盡行殺滅，沒有留下一個。他待瑪基大王，像從前待耶利哥王一樣。On that day Joshua captured Makkedah and put it to the sword, along with its king. He devoted to destruction everyone in the city, leaving no survivors. So he did to the king of Makkedah as he had done to the king of Jericho.

²⁹約書亞和以色列眾人從瑪基大往立拿去，攻打立拿。Then Joshua and all Israel with him moved on from Makkedah to Libnah and fought against Libnah.

³⁰耶和華將立拿和立拿的王也交在以色列人手裡。約書亞攻打這城，用刀擊殺了城中的一切人口，沒有留下一個。他待立拿王，像從前待耶利哥王一樣。And the LORD also delivered that city and its king into the hand of Israel, and Joshua put all the people to the sword, leaving no survivors. And he did to the king of Libnah as he had done to the king of Jericho.

攻取拉吉

³¹約書亞和以色列眾人從立拿往拉吉去，對著拉吉安營，攻打這城。And Joshua and all Israel with him moved on from Libnah to Lachish. They laid siege to it and fought against it.

³²耶和華將拉吉交在以色列人的手裡。第二天約書亞就奪了拉吉，用刀擊殺了城中的一切人口，是照他向立拿一切所行的。And the LORD delivered Lachish into the hand of Israel, and Joshua captured it on the second day. He put all the people to the sword, just as he had done to Libnah.

³³那時基色王荷蘭上來幫助拉吉，約書亞就把他和他的民都擊殺了，沒有留下一個。At that time Horam king of Gezer went to help Lachish, but Joshua struck him down along with his people, leaving no survivors.

攻取伊磯倫、希伯崙、底璧

³⁴約書亞和以色列眾人從拉吉往伊磯倫去，對著伊磯倫安營，攻打這城。So Joshua moved on from Lachish to Eglon, and all Israel with him. They laid siege to it and fought against it.

³⁵當日就奪了城，用刀擊殺了城中的人。那日，約書亞將城中的一切人口盡行殺滅，是照他向拉吉一切所行的。That day they captured Eglon and put it to the sword, and Joshua devoted to destruction everyone in the city, just as he had done to Lachish.

³⁶約書亞和以色列眾人從伊磯倫上希伯崙去，攻打這城，Then Joshua and all Israel with him went up from Eglon to Hebron and fought against it.

³⁷就奪了希伯崙和屬希伯崙的諸城邑，用刀將城中的人與王，並那些城邑中的人口，都擊殺了，沒有留下一個，是照他向伊磯倫所行的，把城中的一切人口盡行殺滅。They captured it and put to the sword its king, all its villages, and all the people. Joshua left no survivors, just as he had done at Eglon; he devoted to destruction Hebron and everyone in it.

³⁸約書亞和以色列眾人回到底璧，攻打這城，Finally Joshua and all Israel with him turned toward Debir and fought against it.

³⁹就奪了底璧和屬底璧的城邑，又擒獲底璧的王，用刀將這些城中的人口盡行殺滅，沒有留下一個。他待底璧和底璧王，像從前待希伯崙和立拿與立拿王一樣。And they captured Debir, its king, and all its villages. They put them to the sword and devoted to destruction everyone in the city, leaving no survivors. Joshua did to Debir and its king as he had done to Hebron and as he had done to Libnah and its king.

平定南方

⁴⁰這樣，約書亞擊殺全地的人，就是山地、南地、高原、山坡的人，和那些地的諸王，沒有留下一個。將凡有氣息的盡行殺滅，正如耶和華─以色列的　神所吩咐的。So Joshua conquered the whole region—the hill country, the Negev, the foothills, and the slopes, together with all their kings—leaving no survivors. He devoted to destruction everything that breathed, just as the LORD, the God of Israel, had commanded.

⁴¹約書亞從加低斯‧巴尼亞攻擊到迦薩，又攻擊歌珊全地，直到基遍。Joshua conquered the area from Kadesh-barnea to Gaza, and the whole region of Goshen as far as Gibeon.

⁴²約書亞一時殺敗了這些王，並奪了他們的地，因為耶和華─以色列的　神為以色列爭戰。And because the LORD, the God of Israel, fought for Israel, Joshua captured all these kings and their land in one campaign.

⁴³於是約書亞和以色列眾人回到吉甲的營中。Then Joshua returned with all Israel to the camp at Gilgal.

北方諸王聯軍

¹夏瑣王耶賓聽見這事，就打發人去見瑪頓王約巴、伸崙王、押煞王，Now when Jabin king of Hazor heard about these things, he sent word to Jobab king of Madon; to the kings of Shimron and Achshaph;

²與北方山地、基尼烈南邊的亞拉巴高原，並西邊多珥山岡的諸王；to the kings of the north in the mountains, in the Arabah south of Chinnereth, in the foothills, and in Naphoth-dor to the west;

³又去見東方和西方的迦南人，與山地的亞摩利人、赫人、比利洗人、耶布斯人，並黑門山根米斯巴地的希未人。to the Canaanites in the east and west; to the Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, and Jebusites in the hill country; and to the Hivites at the foot of Hermon in the land of Mizpah.

⁴這些王和他們的眾軍都出來，人數多如海邊的沙，並有許多馬匹車輛。So these kings came out with all their armies, a multitude as numerous as the sand on the seashore, along with a great number of horses and chariots.

⁵這諸王會合，來到米倫水邊，一同安營，要與以色列人爭戰。All these kings joined forces and encamped at the waters of Merom to fight against Israel.

在米倫水邊大勝

⁶耶和華對約書亞說：「你不要因他們懼怕。明日這時，我必將他們交付以色列人全然殺了。你要砍斷他們馬的蹄筋，用火焚燒他們的車輛。」Then the LORD said to Joshua, “Do not be afraid of them, for by this time tomorrow I will deliver all of them slain before Israel. You are to hamstring their horses and burn up their chariots.”

⁷於是約書亞率領一切兵丁，在米倫水邊突然向前攻打他們。So by the waters of Merom, Joshua and his whole army came upon them suddenly and attacked them,

⁸耶和華將他們交在以色列人手裡，以色列人就擊殺他們，追趕他們到西頓大城，到米斯利弗‧瑪音，直到東邊米斯巴的平原，將他們擊殺，沒有留下一個。and the LORD delivered them into the hand of Israel, who struck them down and pursued them all the way to Greater Sidon and Misrephoth-maim, and eastward as far as the Valley of Mizpeh. They struck them down, leaving no survivors.

⁹約書亞就照耶和華所吩咐他的去行，砍斷他們馬的蹄筋，用火焚燒他們的車輛。Joshua treated them as the LORD had told him; he hamstrung their horses and burned up their chariots.

焚燒夏瑣

¹⁰當時，約書亞轉回奪了夏瑣，用刀擊殺夏瑣王。（素來夏瑣在這諸國中是為首的。）At that time Joshua turned back and captured Hazor and put its king to the sword, because Hazor was formerly the head of all these kingdoms.

¹¹以色列人用刀擊殺城中的人口，將他們盡行殺滅；凡有氣息的沒有留下一個。約書亞又用火焚燒夏瑣。The Israelites put everyone in Hazor to the sword, devoting them to destruction. Nothing that breathed remained, and Joshua burned down Hazor itself.

¹²約書亞奪了這些王的一切城邑，擒獲其中的諸王，用刀擊殺他們，將他們盡行殺滅，正如耶和華僕人摩西所吩咐的。Joshua captured all these kings and their cities and put them to the sword. He devoted them to destruction, as Moses the LORD’s servant had commanded.

¹³至於造在山岡上的城，除了夏瑣以外，以色列人都沒有焚燒。約書亞只將夏瑣焚燒了。Yet Israel did not burn any of the cities built on their mounds, except Hazor, which Joshua burned.

¹⁴那些城邑所有的財物和牲畜，以色列人都取為自己的掠物；惟有一切人口都用刀擊殺，直到殺盡；凡有氣息的沒有留下一個。The Israelites took for themselves all the plunder and livestock of these cities, but they put all the people to the sword until they had completely destroyed them, not sparing anyone who breathed.

¹⁵耶和華怎樣吩咐他僕人摩西，摩西就照樣吩咐約書亞，約書亞也照樣行。凡耶和華所吩咐摩西的，約書亞沒有一件懈怠不行的。As the LORD had commanded His servant Moses, so Moses commanded Joshua. That is what Joshua did, leaving nothing undone of all that the LORD had commanded Moses.

約書亞奪了全地

¹⁶約書亞奪了那全地，就是山地、一帶南地、歌珊全地、高原、亞拉巴、以色列的山地，和山下的高原。So Joshua took this entire region: the hill country, all the Negev, all the land of Goshen, the western foothills, the Arabah, and the mountains of Israel and their foothills,

¹⁷從上西珥的哈拉山，直到黑門山下黎巴嫩平原的巴力‧迦得，並且擒獲那些地的諸王，將他們殺死。from Mount Halak, which rises toward Seir, as far as Baal-gad in the Valley of Lebanon at the foot of Mount Hermon. He captured all their kings and struck them down, putting them to death.

¹⁸約書亞和這諸王爭戰了許多年日。Joshua waged war against all these kings for a long period of time.

¹⁹除了基遍的希未人之外，沒有一城與以色列人講和的，都是以色列人爭戰奪來的。No city made peace with the Israelites except the Hivites living in Gibeon; all others were taken in battle.

²⁰因為耶和華的意思是要使他們心裡剛硬，來與以色列人爭戰，好叫他們盡被殺滅，不蒙憐憫，正如耶和華所吩咐摩西的。For it was of the LORD to harden their hearts to engage Israel in battle, so that they would be set apart for destruction and would receive no mercy, being annihilated as the LORD had commanded Moses.

剪除亞衲族人

²¹當時約書亞來到，將住山地、希伯崙、底璧、亞拿伯、猶大山地、以色列山地所有的亞衲族人剪除了。約書亞將他們和他們的城邑盡都毀滅。At that time Joshua proceeded to eliminate the Anakim from the hill country of Hebron, Debir, and Anab, and from all the hill country of Judah and of Israel. Joshua devoted them to destruction, along with their cities.

²²在以色列人的地沒有留下一個亞衲族人，只在迦薩、迦特，和亞實突有留下的。No Anakim were left in the land of the Israelites; only in Gaza, Gath, and Ashdod did any survive.

²³這樣，約書亞照著耶和華所吩咐摩西的一切話奪了那全地，就按著以色列支派的宗族將地分給他們為業。於是國中太平，沒有爭戰了。So Joshua took the entire land, in keeping with all that the LORD had spoken to Moses. And Joshua gave it as an inheritance to Israel according to the allotments to their tribes. Then the land had rest from war.

摩西在河東擊敗的二王

¹以色列人在約旦河外向日出之地擊殺二王，得他們的地，就是從亞嫩谷直到黑門山，並東邊的全亞拉巴之地。Now these are the kings of the land whom the Israelites struck down and whose lands they took beyond the Jordan to the east, from the Arnon Valley to Mount Hermon, including all the Arabah eastward:

²這二王，有住希實本、亞摩利人的王西宏。他所管之地是從亞嫩谷邊的亞羅珥和谷中的城，並基列一半，直到亞捫人的境界，雅博河Sihon king of the Amorites, who lived in Heshbon. He ruled from Aroer on the rim of the Arnon Valley, along the middle of the valley, up to the Jabbok River (the border of the Ammonites), that is, half of Gilead,

³與約旦河東邊的亞拉巴，直到基尼烈海，又到亞拉巴的海，就是鹽海，通伯‧耶西末的路，以及南方，直到毘斯迦的山根。as well as the Arabah east of the Sea of Chinnereth to the Sea of the Arabah (the Salt Sea), eastward through Beth-jeshimoth, and southward below the slopes of Pisgah.

⁴又有巴珊王噩。他是利乏音人所剩下的，住在亞斯他錄和以得來。And Og king of Bashan, one of the remnant of the Rephaim, who lived in Ashtaroth and Edrei.

⁵他所管之地是黑門山、撒迦、巴珊全地，直到基述人和瑪迦人的境界，並基列一半，直到希實本王西宏的境界。He ruled over Mount Hermon, Salecah, all of Bashan up to the border of the Geshurites and Maacathites, and half of Gilead to the border of Sihon king of Heshbon.

⁶這二王是耶和華僕人摩西和以色列人所擊殺的；耶和華僕人摩西將他們的地賜給流便人、迦得人，和瑪拿西半支派的人為業。Moses, the servant of the LORD, and the Israelites had struck them down and given their land as an inheritance to the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh.

約書亞在河西擊敗的諸王

⁷約書亞和以色列人在約旦河西擊殺了諸王。他們的地是從黎巴嫩平原的巴力‧迦得，直到上西珥的哈拉山。約書亞就將那地按著以色列支派的宗族分給他們為業，And these are the kings of the land that Joshua and the Israelites conquered beyond the Jordan to the west, from Baal-gad in the Valley of Lebanon to Mount Halak, which rises toward Seir (according to the allotments to the tribes of Israel, Joshua gave them as an inheritance

⁸就是赫人、亞摩利人、迦南人、比利洗人、希未人、耶布斯人的山地、高原亞拉巴、山坡、曠野，和南地。the hill country, the foothills, the Arabah, the slopes, the wilderness, and the Negev—the lands of the Hittites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites):

⁹他們的王：一個是耶利哥王，一個是靠近伯特利的艾城王，the king of Jericho, one; the king of Ai, which is near Bethel, one;

¹⁰一個是耶路撒冷王，一個是希伯崙王，the king of Jerusalem, one; the king of Hebron, one;

¹¹一個是耶末王，一個是拉吉王，the king of Jarmuth, one; the king of Lachish, one;

¹²一個是伊磯倫王，一個是基色王，the king of Eglon, one; the king of Gezer, one;

¹³一個是底璧王，一個是基德王，the king of Debir, one; the king of Geder, one;

¹⁴一個是何珥瑪王，一個是亞拉得王，the king of Hormah, one; the king of Arad, one;

¹⁵一個是立拿王，一個是亞杜蘭王，the king of Libnah, one; the king of Adullam, one;

¹⁶一個是瑪基大王，一個是伯特利王，the king of Makkedah, one; the king of Bethel, one;

¹⁷一個是他普亞王，一個是希弗王，the king of Tappuah, one; the king of Hepher, one;

¹⁸一個是亞弗王，一個是拉沙崙王，the king of Aphek, one; the king of Lasharon, one;

¹⁹一個是瑪頓王，一個是夏瑣王，the king of Madon, one; the king of Hazor, one;

²⁰一個是伸崙‧米崙王，一個是押煞王，the king of Shimron-meron, one; the king of Achshaph, one;

²¹一個是他納王，一個是米吉多王，the king of Taanach, one; the king of Megiddo, one;

²²一個是基低斯王，一個是靠近迦密的約念王，the king of Kedesh, one; the king of Jokneam in Carmel, one;

²³一個是多珥山岡的多珥王，一個是吉甲的戈印王，the king of Dor in Naphath-dor, one; the king of Goiim in Gilgal, one;

²⁴一個是得撒王；共計三十一個王。and the king of Tirzah, one. So there were thirty-one kings in all.

差遣十二門徒

¹耶穌叫齊了十二個門徒，給他們能力、權柄，制伏一切的鬼，醫治各樣的病，Then Jesus called the Twelve together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and power to cure diseases.

²又差遣他們去宣傳　神國的道，醫治病人，And He sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.

行路不要帶甚麼

³對他們說：「行路的時候，不要帶柺杖和口袋，不要帶食物和銀子，也不要帶兩件褂子。“Take nothing for the journey,” He told them, “no staff, no bag, no bread, no money, no second tunic.

⁴無論進哪一家，就住在那裡，也從那裡起行。Whatever house you enter, stay there until you leave that area.

⁵凡不接待你們的，你們離開那城的時候，要把腳上的塵土跺下去，見證他們的不是。」If anyone does not welcome you, shake the dust off your feet when you leave that town, as a testimony against them.”

門徒出去傳福音

⁶門徒就出去，走遍各鄉宣傳福音，到處治病。So they set out and went from village to village, preaching the gospel and healing people everywhere.

希律游移不定

⁷分封的王希律聽見耶穌所做的一切事，就游移不定；因為有人說：「是約翰從死裡復活」；When Herod the tetrarch heard about all that was happening, he was perplexed. For some were saying that John had risen from the dead,

⁸又有人說：「是以利亞顯現」；還有人說：「是古時的一個先知又活了。」others that Elijah had appeared, and still others that a prophet of old had arisen.

⁹希律說：「約翰我已經斬了，這卻是甚麼人？我竟聽見他這樣的事呢？」就想要見他。“I beheaded John,” Herod said, “but who is this man I hear such things about?” And he kept trying to see Jesus.

使徒回來

¹⁰使徒回來，將所做的事告訴耶穌，耶穌就帶他們暗暗地離開那裡，往一座城去；那城名叫伯賽大。Then the apostles returned and reported to Jesus all that they had done. Taking them away privately, He withdrew to a town called Bethsaida.

¹¹但眾人知道了，就跟著他去；耶穌便接待他們，對他們講論　神國的道，醫治那些需醫的人。But the crowds found out and followed Him. He welcomed them and spoke to them about the kingdom of God, and He healed those who needed healing.

你們給他們吃吧

¹²日頭快要平西，十二個門徒來對他說：「請叫眾人散開，他們好往四面鄉村裡去借宿找吃的，因為我們這裡是野地。」As the day neared its end, the Twelve came to Jesus and said, “Dismiss the crowd so they can go to the surrounding villages and countryside for lodging and provisions. For we are in a desolate place here.”

¹³耶穌說：「你們給他們吃吧！」門徒說：「我們不過有五個餅，兩條魚，若不去為這許多人買食物就不夠。」But Jesus told them, “You give them something to eat.” “We have only five loaves of bread and two fish,” they answered, “unless we go and buy food for all these people.”

¹⁴那時，人數約有五千。耶穌對門徒說：「叫他們一排一排地坐下，每排大約五十個人。」(There were about five thousand men.) He told His disciples, “Have them sit down in groups of about fifty each.”

¹⁵門徒就如此行，叫眾人都坐下。They did so, and everyone was seated.

五餅二魚餵飽眾人

¹⁶耶穌拿著這五個餅，兩條魚，望著天祝福，擘開，遞給門徒，擺在眾人面前。Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, Jesus spoke a blessing and broke them. Then He gave them to the disciples to set before the people.

¹⁷他們就吃，並且都吃飽了；把剩下的零碎收拾起來，裝滿了十二籃子。They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over.
