亞干取了當滅的物

¹以色列人在當滅的物上犯了罪；因為猶大支派中，謝拉的曾孫，撒底的孫子，迦米的兒子亞干取了當滅的物；耶和華的怒氣就向以色列人發作。The Israelites, however, acted unfaithfully regarding the things devoted to destruction. Achan son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took some of what was set apart. So the anger of the LORD burned against the Israelites.

在艾城敗退

²當下，約書亞從耶利哥打發人往伯特利東邊、靠近伯‧亞文的艾城去，吩咐他們說：「你們上去窺探那地。」他們就上去窺探艾城。Meanwhile, Joshua sent men from Jericho to Ai, which is near Beth-aven to the east of Bethel, and told them, “Go up and spy out the land.” So the men went up and spied out Ai.

³他們回到約書亞那裡，對他說：「眾民不必都上去，只要二三千人上去就能攻取艾城；不必勞累眾民都去，因為那裡的人少。」On returning to Joshua, they reported, “There is no need to send all the people; two or three thousand men are enough to go up and attack Ai. Since the people of Ai are so few, you need not wear out all our people there.”

⁴於是民中約有三千人上那裡去，竟在艾城人面前逃跑了。So about three thousand men went up, but they fled before the men of Ai.

⁵艾城的人擊殺了他們三十六人，從城門前追趕他們，直到示巴琳，在下坡殺敗他們；眾民的心就消化如水。And the men of Ai struck down about thirty-six of them, chasing them from the gate as far as the quarries and striking them down on the slopes. So the hearts of the people melted and became like water.

約書亞俯伏哀求

⁶約書亞便撕裂衣服；他和以色列的長老把灰撒在頭上，在耶和華的約櫃前俯伏在地，直到晚上。Then Joshua tore his clothes and fell facedown before the ark of the LORD until evening, as did the elders of Israel; and they all sprinkled dust on their heads.

⁷約書亞說：「哀哉！主耶和華啊，你為甚麼竟領這百姓過約旦河，將我們交在亞摩利人的手中，使我們滅亡呢？我們不如住在約旦河那邊倒好。“O, Lord GOD,” Joshua said, “why did You ever bring this people across the Jordan to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites to be destroyed? If only we had been content to stay on the other side of the Jordan!

⁸主啊，以色列人既在仇敵面前轉背逃跑，我還有甚麼可說的呢？O Lord, what can I say, now that Israel has turned its back and run from its enemies?

⁹迦南人和這地一切的居民聽見了就必圍困我們，將我們的名從地上除滅。那時你為你的大名要怎樣行呢？」When the Canaanites and all who live in the land hear about this, they will surround us and wipe out our name from the earth. Then what will You do for Your great name?”

營中有當滅的物

¹⁰耶和華吩咐約書亞說：「起來！你為何這樣俯伏在地呢？But the LORD said to Joshua, “Stand up! Why have you fallen on your face?

¹¹以色列人犯了罪，違背了我所吩咐他們的約，取了當滅的物；又偷竊，又行詭詐，又把那當滅的放在他們的家具裡。Israel has sinned; they have transgressed My covenant that I commanded them, and they have taken some of what was devoted to destruction. Indeed, they have stolen and lied, and they have put these things with their own possessions.

¹²因此，以色列人在仇敵面前站立不住。他們在仇敵面前轉背逃跑，是因成了被咒詛的；你們若不把當滅的物從你們中間除掉，我就不再與你們同在了。This is why the Israelites cannot stand against their enemies. They will turn their backs and run from their enemies, because they themselves have been set apart for destruction. I will no longer be with you unless you remove from among you whatever is devoted to destruction.

¹³你起來，叫百姓自潔，對他們說：『你們要自潔，預備明天，因為耶和華─以色列的　神這樣說：以色列啊，你們中間有當滅的物，你們若不除掉，在仇敵面前必站立不住！』Get up and consecrate the people, saying, ‘Consecrate yourselves for tomorrow, for this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: Among you, O Israel, there are things devoted to destruction. You cannot stand against your enemies until you remove them.

¹⁴到了早晨，你們要按著支派近前來；耶和華所取的支派，要按著宗族近前來；耶和華所取的宗族，要按著家室近前來；耶和華所取的家室，要按著人丁，一個一個地近前來。In the morning you must present yourselves tribe by tribe. The tribe that the LORD selects shall come forward clan by clan, and the clan that the LORD selects shall come forward family by family, and the family that the LORD selects shall come forward man by man.

¹⁵被取的人有當滅的物在他那裡，他和他所有的必被火焚燒；因他違背了耶和華的約，又因他在以色列中行了愚妄的事。」The one who is caught with the things devoted to destruction must be burned, along with all that belongs to him, because he has transgressed the covenant of the LORD and committed an outrage in Israel.’”

查出亞干

¹⁶於是，約書亞清早起來，使以色列人按著支派近前來，取出來的是猶大支派；So Joshua arose early the next morning and had Israel come forward tribe by tribe, and the tribe of Judah was selected.

¹⁷使猶大支派（原文是宗族）近前來，就取了謝拉的宗族；使謝拉的宗族，按著家室人丁，一個一個地近前來，取出來的是撒底；He had the clans of Judah come forward, and the clan of the Zerahites was selected. He had the clan of the Zerahites come forward, and the family of Zabdi was selected.

¹⁸使撒底的家室，按著人丁，一個一個地近前來，就取出猶大支派的人謝拉的曾孫，撒底的孫子，迦米的兒子亞干。And he had the family of Zabdi come forward man by man, and Achan son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, was selected.

亞干認罪

¹⁹約書亞對亞干說：「我兒，我勸你將榮耀歸給耶和華─以色列的　神，在他面前認罪，將你所做的事告訴我，不要向我隱瞞。」So Joshua said to Achan, “My son, give glory to the LORD, the God of Israel, and make a confession to Him. I urge you to tell me what you have done; do not hide it from me.”

²⁰亞干回答約書亞說：「我實在得罪了耶和華─以色列的　神。我所做的事如此如此：“It is true,” Achan replied, “I have sinned against the LORD, the God of Israel. This is what I did:

²¹我在所奪的財物中看見一件美好的示拿衣服，二百舍客勒銀子，一條金子重五十舍客勒，我就貪愛這些物件，便拿去了。現今藏在我帳棚內的地裡，銀子在衣服底下。」When I saw among the spoils a beautiful cloak from Shinar, two hundred shekels of silver, and a bar of gold weighing fifty shekels, I coveted them and took them. They are hidden in the ground inside my tent, with the silver underneath.”

²²約書亞就打發人跑到亞干的帳棚裡。那件衣服果然藏在他帳棚內，銀子在底下。So Joshua sent messengers who ran to the tent, and there it all was, hidden in his tent, with the silver underneath.

²³他們就從帳棚裡取出來，拿到約書亞和以色列眾人那裡，放在耶和華面前。They took the things from inside the tent, brought them to Joshua and all the Israelites, and spread them out before the LORD.

在亞割谷受罰

²⁴約書亞和以色列眾人把謝拉的曾孫亞干和那銀子、那件衣服、那條金子，並亞干的兒女、牛、驢、羊、帳棚，以及他所有的，都帶到亞割谷去。Then Joshua, together with all Israel, took Achan son of Zerah, the silver, the cloak, the bar of gold, his sons and daughters, his oxen and donkeys and sheep, his tent, and everything else he owned, and brought them to the Valley of Achor.

²⁵約書亞說：「你為甚麼連累我們呢？今日耶和華必叫你受連累。」於是以色列眾人用石頭打死他，將石頭扔在其上，又用火焚燒他所有的（原文是他們）。“Why have you brought this trouble upon us?” said Joshua. “Today the LORD will bring trouble upon you!” And all Israel stoned him to death. Then they stoned the others and burned their bodies.

²⁶眾人在亞干身上堆成一大堆石頭，直存到今日。於是耶和華轉意，不發他的烈怒。因此那地方名叫亞割谷（就是連累的意思），直到今日。And they heaped over Achan a large pile of rocks that remains to this day. So the LORD turned from His burning anger. Therefore that place is called the Valley of Achor to this day.

神應許交出艾城

¹耶和華對約書亞說：「不要懼怕，也不要驚惶。你起來，率領一切兵丁上艾城去，我已經把艾城的王和他的民、他的城，並他的地，都交在你手裡。Then the LORD said to Joshua, “Do not be afraid or discouraged. Take the whole army with you, and go up and attack Ai. See, I have delivered into your hand the king of Ai, his people, his city, and his land.

²你怎樣待耶利哥和耶利哥的王，也當照樣待艾城和艾城的王。只是城內所奪的財物和牲畜，你們可以取為自己的掠物。你要在城後設下伏兵。」And you shall do to Ai and its king as you did to Jericho and its king, except that you may carry off their plunder and livestock for yourselves. Set up an ambush behind the city.”

設下伏兵

³於是，約書亞和一切兵丁都起來，要上艾城去。約書亞選了三萬大能的勇士，夜間打發他們前往，So Joshua and the whole army set out to attack Ai. Joshua chose 30,000 mighty men of valor and sent them out at night

⁴吩咐他們說：「你們要在城後埋伏，不可離城太遠，都要各自準備。with these orders: “Pay attention. You are to lie in ambush behind the city, not too far from it. All of you must be ready.

⁵我與我所帶領的眾民要向城前往。城裡的人像初次出來攻擊我們的時候，我們就在他們面前逃跑，Then I and all the troops with me will advance on the city. When they come out against us as they did the first time, we will flee from them.

⁶他們必出來追趕我們，直到我們引誘他們離開城；因為他們必說：『這些人像初次在我們面前逃跑。』所以我們要在他們面前逃跑，They will pursue us until we have drawn them away from the city, for they will say, ‘The Israelites are running away from us as they did before.’ So as we flee from them,

⁷你們就從埋伏的地方起來，奪取那城，因為耶和華─你們的　神必把城交在你們手裡。you are to rise from the ambush and seize the city, for the LORD your God will deliver it into your hand.

⁸你們奪了城以後，就放火燒城，要照耶和華的話行。這是我吩咐你們的。」And when you have taken the city, set it on fire. Do as the LORD has commanded! See, I have given you orders.”

⁹約書亞打發他們前往，他們就上埋伏的地方去，住在伯特利和艾城的中間，就是在艾城的西邊。這夜約書亞卻在民中住宿。So Joshua sent them out, and they went to the place of ambush and lay in wait between Bethel and Ai, to the west of Ai. But Joshua spent that night among the people.

¹⁰約書亞清早起來，點齊百姓，他和以色列的長老在百姓前面上艾城去。Joshua got up early the next morning and mobilized his men, and he and the elders of Israel marched before them up to Ai.

¹¹眾民，就是他所帶領的兵丁，都上去，向前直往，來到城前，在艾城北邊安營。在約書亞和艾城中間有一山谷。Then all the troops who were with him marched up and approached the city. They arrived in front of Ai and camped to the north of it, with the valley between them and the city.

¹²他挑了約有五千人，使他們埋伏在伯特利和艾城的中間，就是在艾城的西邊，Now Joshua had taken about five thousand men and set up an ambush between Bethel and Ai, to the west of the city.

¹³於是安置了百姓，就是城北的全軍和城西的伏兵。這夜約書亞進入山谷之中。So the forces were stationed with the main camp to the north of the city and the rear guard to the west of the city. And that night Joshua went into the valley.

引誘艾城人離城

¹⁴艾城的王看見這景況，就和全城的人，清早急忙起來，按所定的時候，出到亞拉巴前，要與以色列人交戰；王卻不知道在城後有伏兵。When the king of Ai saw the Israelites, he hurried out early in the morning with the men of the city to engage them in battle at an appointed place overlooking the Arabah. But he did not know that an ambush had been set up against him behind the city.

¹⁵約書亞和以色列眾人在他們面前裝敗，往那通曠野的路逃跑。Joshua and all Israel let themselves be beaten back before them, and they fled toward the wilderness.

¹⁶城內的眾民都被招聚，追趕他們；艾城人追趕的時候，就被引誘離開城。Then all the men of Ai were summoned to pursue them, and they followed Joshua and were drawn away from the city.

¹⁷艾城和伯特利城沒有一人不出來追趕以色列人的，撇了敞開的城門，去追趕以色列人。Not a man was left in Ai or Bethel who did not go out after Israel, leaving the city wide open while they pursued Israel.

向艾城伸出短槍

¹⁸耶和華吩咐約書亞說：「你向艾城伸出手裡的短槍，因為我要將城交在你手裡。」約書亞就向城伸出手裡的短槍。Then the LORD said to Joshua, “Hold out your battle lance toward Ai, for into your hand I will deliver the city.” So Joshua held out his battle lance toward Ai,

¹⁹他一伸手，伏兵就從埋伏的地方急忙起來，奪了城，跑進城去，放火焚燒。and as soon as he did so, the men in ambush rose quickly from their position. They rushed forward, entered the city, captured it, and immediately set it on fire.

²⁰艾城的人回頭一看，不料，城中煙氣沖天，他們就無力向左向右逃跑。那往曠野逃跑的百姓便轉身攻擊追趕他們的人。When the men of Ai turned and looked back, the smoke of the city was rising into the sky. They could not escape in any direction, and the troops who had fled to the wilderness now turned against their pursuers.

²¹約書亞和以色列眾人見伏兵已經奪了城，城中煙氣飛騰，就轉身回去，擊殺艾城的人。When Joshua and all Israel saw that the men in ambush had captured the city and that smoke was rising from it, they turned around and struck down the men of Ai.

²²伏兵也出城迎擊艾城人，艾城人就困在以色列人中間，前後都是以色列人。於是以色列人擊殺他們，沒有留下一個，也沒有一個逃脫的，Meanwhile, those in the ambush came out of the city against them, and the men of Ai were trapped between the Israelite forces on both sides. So Israel struck them down until no survivor or fugitive remained.

²³生擒了艾城的王，將他解到約書亞那裡。But they took the king of Ai alive and brought him to Joshua.

²⁴以色列人在田間和曠野殺盡所追趕一切艾城的居民。艾城人倒在刀下，直到滅盡；以色列眾人就回到艾城，用刀殺了城中的人。When Israel had finished killing all the men of Ai who had pursued them into the field and wilderness, and when every last one of them had fallen by the sword, all the Israelites returned to Ai and put it to the sword as well.

²⁵當日殺斃的人，連男帶女共有一萬二千，就是艾城所有的人。A total of twelve thousand men and women fell that day—all the people of Ai.

²⁶約書亞沒有收回手裡所伸出來的短槍，直到把艾城的一切居民盡行殺滅。Joshua did not draw back the hand that held his battle lance until he had devoted to destruction all who lived in Ai.

²⁷惟獨城中的牲畜和財物，以色列人都取為自己的掠物，是照耶和華所吩咐約書亞的話。Israel took for themselves only the cattle and plunder of that city, as the LORD had commanded Joshua.

²⁸約書亞將艾城焚燒，使城永為高堆、荒場，直到今日；So Joshua burned Ai and made it a permanent heap of ruins, a desolation to this day.

²⁹又將艾城王掛在樹上，直到晚上。日落的時候，約書亞吩咐人把屍首從樹上取下來，丟在城門口，在屍首上堆成一大堆石頭，直存到今日。He hung the king of Ai on a tree until evening, and at sunset Joshua commanded that they take down the body from the tree and throw it down at the entrance of the city gate. And over it they raised a large pile of rocks, which remains to this day.

在以巴路山築壇宣讀律法

³⁰那時，約書亞在以巴路山上為耶和華─以色列的　神築一座壇，At that time Joshua built an altar on Mount Ebal to the LORD, the God of Israel,

³¹是用沒有動過鐵器的整石頭築的，照著耶和華僕人摩西所吩咐以色列人的話，正如摩西律法書上所寫的。眾人在這壇上給耶和華奉獻燔祭和平安祭。just as Moses the servant of the LORD had commanded the Israelites. He built it according to what is written in the Book of the Law of Moses: “an altar of uncut stones on which no iron tool has been used.” And on it they offered burnt offerings to the LORD, and they sacrificed peace offerings.

³²約書亞在那裡，當著以色列人面前，將摩西所寫的律法抄寫在石頭上。And there in the presence of the Israelites, Joshua inscribed on the stones a copy of the law of Moses, which he had written.

³³以色列眾人，無論是本地人、是寄居的，和長老、官長，並審判官，都站在約櫃兩旁，在抬耶和華約櫃的祭司利未人面前，一半對著基利心山，一半對著以巴路山，為以色列民祝福，正如耶和華僕人摩西先前所吩咐的。All Israel, foreigners and citizens alike, with their elders, officers, and judges, stood on both sides of the ark of the covenant of the LORD facing the Levitical priests who carried it. Half of the people stood in front of Mount Gerizim and half of them in front of Mount Ebal, as Moses the servant of the LORD had commanded earlier, to bless the people of Israel.

³⁴隨後，約書亞將律法上祝福、咒詛的話，照著律法書上一切所寫的，都宣讀了一遍。Afterward, Joshua read aloud all the words of the law—the blessings and the curses—according to all that is written in the Book of the Law.

³⁵摩西所吩咐的一切話，約書亞在以色列全會眾和婦女、孩子，並他們中間寄居的外人面前，沒有一句不宣讀的。There was not a word of all that Moses had commanded that Joshua failed to read before the whole assembly of Israel, including the women, the little ones, and the foreigners who lived among them.

婦女們跟隨供給

¹過了不多日，耶穌周遊各城各鄉傳道，宣講　神國的福音。和他同去的有十二個門徒，Soon afterward, Jesus traveled from one town and village to another, preaching and proclaiming the good news of the kingdom of God. The Twelve were with Him,

²還有被惡鬼所附、被疾病所累、已經治好的幾個婦女，內中有稱為抹大拉的馬利亞（曾有七個鬼從她身上趕出來），as well as some women who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities: Mary called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had gone out,

³又有希律的家宰苦撒的妻子約亞拿，並蘇撒拿，和好些別的婦女，都是用自己的財物供給耶穌和門徒。Joanna the wife of Herod’s household manager Chuza, Susanna, and many others. These women were ministering to them out of their own means.

撒種的比喻

⁴當許多人聚集、又有人從各城裡出來見耶穌的時候，耶穌就用比喻說：While a large crowd was gathering and people were coming to Jesus from town after town, He told them this parable:

⁵「有一個撒種的出去撒種。撒的時候，有落在路旁的，被人踐踏，天上的飛鳥又來吃盡了。“A farmer went out to sow his seed. And as he was sowing, some seed fell along the path, where it was trampled, and the birds of the air devoured it.

⁶有落在磐石上的，一出來就枯乾了，因為得不著滋潤。Some fell on rocky ground, and when it came up, the seedlings withered because they had no moisture.

⁷有落在荊棘裡的，荊棘一同生長，把它擠住了。Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up with it and choked the seedlings.

⁸又有落在好土裡的，生長起來，結實百倍。」耶穌說了這些話，就大聲說：「有耳可聽的，就應當聽！」Still other seed fell on good soil, where it sprang up and produced a crop—a hundredfold.” As Jesus said this, He called out, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear.”

為甚麼用比喻

⁹門徒問耶穌說：「這比喻是甚麼意思呢？」Then His disciples asked Him what this parable meant.

¹⁰他說：「　神國的奧祕只叫你們知道；至於別人，就用比喻，叫他們看也看不見，聽也聽不明。」He replied, “The knowledge of the mysteries of the kingdom of God has been given to you, but to others I speak in parables, so that, ‘though seeing, they may not see; though hearing, they may not understand.’

比喻的解釋

¹¹「這比喻乃是這樣：種子就是　神的道。Now this is the meaning of the parable: The seed is the word of God.

¹²那些在路旁的，就是人聽了道，隨後魔鬼來，從他們心裡把道奪去，恐怕他們信了得救。The seeds along the path are those who hear, but the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved.

¹³那些在磐石上的，就是人聽道，歡喜領受，但心中沒有根，不過暫時相信，及至遇見試煉就退後了。The seeds on rocky ground are those who hear the word and receive it with joy, but they have no root. They believe for a season, but in the time of testing, they fall away.

¹⁴那落在荊棘裡的，就是人聽了道，走開以後，被今生的思慮、錢財、宴樂擠住了，便結不出成熟的子粒來。The seeds that fell among the thorns are those who hear, but as they go on their way, they are choked by the worries, riches, and pleasures of this life, and their fruit does not mature.

¹⁵那落在好土裡的，就是人聽了道，持守在誠實善良的心裡，並且忍耐著結實。」But the seeds on good soil are those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, cling to it, and by persevering produce a crop.

燈要放在燈臺上

¹⁶「沒有人點燈用器皿蓋上，或放在床底下，乃是放在燈臺上，叫進來的人看見亮光。No one lights a lamp and covers it with a jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, he sets it on a stand, so those who enter can see the light.

¹⁷因為掩藏的事沒有不顯出來的；隱瞞的事沒有不露出來被人知道的。For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be made known and brought to light.

¹⁸所以，你們應當小心怎樣聽；因為凡有的，還要加給他；凡沒有的，連他自以為有的，也要奪去。」Pay attention, therefore, to how you listen. Whoever has will be given more, but whoever does not have, even what he thinks he has will be taken away from him.”

耶穌真正的親屬

¹⁹耶穌的母親和他弟兄來了，因為人多，不得到他跟前。Then Jesus’ mother and brothers came to see Him, but they were unable to reach Him because of the crowd.

²⁰有人告訴他說：「你母親和你弟兄站在外邊，要見你。」He was told, “Your mother and brothers are standing outside, wanting to see You.”

²¹耶穌回答說：「聽了　神之道而遵行的人就是我的母親，我的弟兄了。」But He replied, “My mother and brothers are those who hear the word of God and carry it out.”

平靜風浪

²²有一天，耶穌和門徒上了船，對門徒說：「我們可以渡到湖那邊去。」他們就開了船。One day Jesus said to His disciples, “Let us cross to the other side of the lake.” So He got into a boat with them and set out.

²³正行的時候，耶穌睡著了。湖上忽然起了暴風，船將滿了水，甚是危險。As they sailed, He fell asleep, and a windstorm came down on the lake, so that the boat was being swamped, and they were in great danger.

²⁴門徒來叫醒了他，說：「夫子！夫子！我們喪命啦！」耶穌醒了，斥責那狂風大浪；風浪就止住，平靜了。The disciples went and woke Him, saying, “Master, Master, we are perishing!” Then Jesus got up and rebuked the wind and the raging waters, and they subsided, and all was calm.

²⁵耶穌對他們說：「你們的信心在哪裡呢？」他們又懼怕又希奇，彼此說：「這到底是誰？他吩咐風和水，連風和水也聽從他了。」“Where is your faith?” He asked. Frightened and amazed, they asked one another, “Who is this? He commands even the winds and the water, and they obey Him!”
