不可有惡根生出苦菜

¹⁸惟恐你們中間，或男或女，或族長或支派長，今日心裡偏離耶和華─我們的　神，去事奉那些國的　神；又怕你們中間有惡根生出苦菜和茵蔯來，Make sure there is no man or woman, clan or tribe among you today whose heart turns away from the LORD our God to go and worship the gods of those nations. Make sure there is no root among you that bears such poisonous and bitter fruit,

¹⁹聽見這咒詛的話，心裡仍是自誇說：『我雖然行事心裡頑梗，連累眾人，卻還是平安。』because when such a person hears the words of this oath, he invokes a blessing on himself, saying, ‘I will have peace, even though I walk in the stubbornness of my own heart.’ This will bring disaster on the watered land as well as the dry.

²⁰耶和華必不饒恕他；耶和華的怒氣與憤恨要向他發作，如煙冒出，將這書上所寫的一切咒詛都加在他身上。耶和華又要從天下塗抹他的名，The LORD will never be willing to forgive him. Instead, His anger and jealousy will burn against that man, and every curse written in this book will fall upon him. The LORD will blot out his name from under heaven

²¹也必照著寫在律法書上、約中的一切咒詛將他從以色列眾支派中分別出來，使他受禍。and single him out from all the tribes of Israel for disaster, according to all the curses of the covenant written in this Book of the Law.

這地為何荒涼

²²你們的後代，就是以後興起來的子孫，和遠方來的外人，看見這地的災殃，並耶和華所降與這地的疾病，Then the generation to come—your sons who follow you and the foreigner who comes from a distant land—will see the plagues of the land and the sicknesses the LORD has inflicted on it.

²³又看見遍地有硫磺，有鹽鹵，有火跡，沒有耕種，沒有出產，連草都不生長─好像耶和華在忿怒中所傾覆的所多瑪、蛾摩拉、押瑪、洗扁一樣─All its soil will be a burning waste of sulfur and salt, unsown and unproductive, with no plant growing on it, just like the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboiim, which the LORD overthrew in His fierce anger.

²⁴所看見的人，連萬國人，都必問說：『耶和華為何向此地這樣行呢？這樣大發烈怒是甚麼意思呢？』So all the nations will ask, ‘Why has the LORD done such a thing to this land? Why this great outburst of anger?’

²⁵人必回答說：『是因這地的人離棄了耶和華─他們列祖的　神，領他們出埃及地的時候與他們所立的約，And the people will answer, ‘It is because they abandoned the covenant of the LORD, the God of their fathers, which He made with them when He brought them out of the land of Egypt.

²⁶去事奉敬拜素不認識的別神，是耶和華所未曾給他們安排的。They went and served other gods, and they worshiped gods they had not known—gods that the LORD had not given to them.

²⁷所以耶和華的怒氣向這地發作，將這書上所寫的一切咒詛都降在這地上。Therefore the anger of the LORD burned against this land, and He brought upon it every curse written in this book.

²⁸耶和華在怒氣、忿怒、大惱恨中將他們從本地拔出來，扔在別的地上，像今日一樣。』The LORD uprooted them from their land in His anger, rage, and great wrath, and He cast them into another land, where they are today.’

隱祕的事與明顯的事

²⁹「隱祕的事是屬耶和華─我們　神的；惟有明顯的事是永遠屬我們和我們子孫的，好叫我們遵行這律法上的一切話。」The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, so that we may follow all the words of this law.

歸向神，必蒙招聚

¹「我所陳明在你面前的這一切咒詛都臨到你身上；你在耶和華─你　神追趕你到的萬國中必心裡追念祝福的話；“When all these things come upon you—the blessings and curses I have set before you—and you call them to mind in all the nations to which the LORD your God has banished you,

²你和你的子孫若盡心盡性歸向耶和華─你的　神，照著我今日一切所吩咐的聽從他的話；and when you and your children return to the LORD your God and obey His voice with all your heart and all your soul according to everything I am giving you today,

³那時，耶和華─你的　神必憐恤你，救回你這被擄的子民；耶和華─你的　神要回轉過來，從分散你到的萬民中將你招聚回來。then He will restore you from captivity and have compassion on you and gather you from all the nations to which the LORD your God has scattered you.

⁴你被趕散的人，就是在天涯的，耶和華─你的　神也必從那裡將你招聚回來。Even if you have been banished to the farthest horizon, He will gather you and return you from there.

⁵耶和華─你的　神必領你進入你列祖所得的地，使你可以得著；又必善待你，使你的人數比你列祖眾多。And the LORD your God will bring you into the land your fathers possessed, and you will take possession of it. He will cause you to prosper and multiply more than your fathers.

⁶耶和華─你　神必將你心裡和你後裔心裡的污穢除掉，好叫你盡心盡性愛耶和華─你的　神，使你可以存活。The LORD your God will circumcise your hearts and the hearts of your descendants, and you will love Him with all your heart and with all your soul, so that you may live.

⁷耶和華─你的　神必將這一切咒詛加在你仇敵和恨惡你、逼迫你的人身上。Then the LORD your God will put all these curses upon your enemies who hate you and persecute you.

⁸你必歸回，聽從耶和華的話，遵行他的一切誡命，就是我今日所吩咐你的。And you will again obey the voice of the LORD and follow all His commandments I am giving you today.

^9–10你若聽從耶和華─你　神的話，謹守這律法書上所寫的誡命律例，又盡心盡性歸向耶和華─你的　神，他必使你手裡所辦的一切事，並你身所生的，牲畜所下的，地土所產的，都綽綽有餘；因為耶和華必再喜悅你，降福與你，像從前喜悅你列祖一樣。So the LORD your God will make you abound in all the work of your hands and in the fruit of your womb, the offspring of your livestock, and the produce of your land. Indeed, the LORD will again delight in your prosperity, as He delighted in that of your fathers, if you obey the LORD your God by keeping His commandments and statutes that are written in this Book of the Law, and if you turn to Him with all your heart and with all your soul.

這話離你甚近

¹¹「我今日所吩咐你的誡命不是你難行的，也不是離你遠的；For this commandment I give you today is not too difficult for you or beyond your reach.

¹²不是在天上，使你說：『誰替我們上天取下來，使我們聽見可以遵行呢？』It is not in heaven, that you should need to ask, ‘Who will ascend into heaven to get it for us and proclaim it, that we may obey it?’

¹³也不是在海外，使你說：『誰替我們過海取了來，使我們聽見可以遵行呢？』And it is not beyond the sea, that you should need to ask, ‘Who will cross the sea to get it for us and proclaim it, that we may obey it?’

¹⁴這話卻離你甚近，就在你口中，在你心裡，使你可以遵行。But the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart, so that you may obey it.

揀選生命

¹⁵「看哪，我今日將生與福，死與禍，陳明在你面前。See, I have set before you today life and prosperity, as well as death and disaster.

¹⁶吩咐你愛耶和華─你的　神，遵行他的道，謹守他的誡命、律例、典章，使你可以存活，人數增多，耶和華─你　神就必在你所要進去得為業的地上賜福與你。For I am commanding you today to love the LORD your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments, statutes, and ordinances, so that you may live and increase, and the LORD your God may bless you in the land that you are entering to possess.

¹⁷倘若你心裡偏離，不肯聽從，卻被勾引去敬拜事奉別神，But if your heart turns away and you do not listen, but are drawn away to bow down to other gods and worship them,

¹⁸我今日明明告訴你們，你們必要滅亡；在你過約旦河、進去得為業的地上，你的日子必不長久。I declare to you today that you will surely perish; you shall not prolong your days in the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess.

¹⁹我今日呼天喚地向你作見證；我將生死禍福陳明在你面前，所以你要揀選生命，使你和你的後裔都得存活；I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you today that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing. Therefore choose life, so that you and your descendants may live,

²⁰且愛耶和華─你的　神，聽從他的話，專靠他；因為他是你的生命，你的日子長久也在乎他。這樣，你就可以在耶和華向你列祖亞伯拉罕、以撒、雅各起誓應許所賜的地上居住。」and that you may love the LORD your God, obey Him, and hold fast to Him. For He is your life, and He will prolong your life in the land that the LORD swore to give to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.”

勉勵百姓和約書亞

¹摩西去告訴以色列眾人When Moses had finished speaking these words to all Israel,

²說：「我現在一百二十歲了，不能照常出入；耶和華也曾對我說：『你必不得過這約旦河。』he said to them, “I am now a hundred and twenty years old; I am no longer able to come and go, and the LORD has said to me, ‘You shall not cross the Jordan.’

³耶和華─你們的　神必引導你們過去，將這些國民在你們面前滅絕，你們就得他們的地。約書亞必引導你們過去，正如耶和華所說的。The LORD your God Himself will cross over ahead of you. He will destroy these nations before you, and you will dispossess them. Joshua will cross ahead of you, as the LORD has said.

⁴耶和華必待他們，如同從前待他所滅絕的亞摩利二王西宏與噩以及他們的國一樣。And the LORD will do to them as He did to Sihon and Og, the kings of the Amorites, when He destroyed them along with their land.

⁵耶和華必將他們交給你們；你們要照我所吩咐的一切命令待他們。The LORD will deliver them over to you, and you must do to them exactly as I have commanded you.

⁶你們當剛強壯膽，不要害怕，也不要畏懼他們，因為耶和華─你的　神和你同去。他必不撇下你，也不丟棄你。」Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid or terrified of them, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.”

⁷摩西召了約書亞來，在以色列眾人眼前對他說：「你當剛強壯膽！因為，你要和這百姓一同進入耶和華向他們列祖起誓應許所賜之地；你也要使他們承受那地為業。Then Moses called for Joshua and said to him in the presence of all Israel, “Be strong and courageous, for you will go with this people into the land that the LORD swore to their fathers to give them, and you shall give it to them as an inheritance.

⁸耶和華必在你前面行；他必與你同在，必不撇下你，也不丟棄你。不要懼怕，也不要驚惶。」The LORD Himself goes before you; He will be with you. He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid or discouraged.”

每七年宣讀律法

⁹摩西將這律法寫出來，交給抬耶和華約櫃的祭司利未子孫和以色列的眾長老。So Moses wrote down this law and gave it to the priests, the sons of Levi, who carried the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and to all the elders of Israel.

¹⁰摩西吩咐他們說：「每逢七年的末一年，就在豁免年的定期住棚節的時候，Then Moses commanded them, “At the end of every seven years, at the appointed time in the year of remission of debt, during the Feast of Tabernacles,

¹¹以色列眾人來到耶和華─你　神所選擇的地方朝見他。那時，你要在以色列眾人面前將這律法念給他們聽。when all Israel comes before the LORD your God at the place He will choose, you are to read this law in the hearing of all Israel.

¹²要招聚他們男、女、孩子，並城裡寄居的，使他們聽，使他們學習，好敬畏耶和華─你們的　神，謹守、遵行這律法的一切話，Assemble the people—men, women, children, and the foreigners within your gates—so that they may listen and learn to fear the LORD your God and to follow carefully all the words of this law.

¹³也使他們未曾曉得這律法的兒女得以聽見，學習敬畏耶和華─你們的　神，在你們過約旦河要得為業之地，存活的日子，常常這樣行。」Then their children who do not know the law will listen and learn to fear the LORD your God, as long as you live in the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess.”

神在會幕中顯現

¹⁴耶和華對摩西說：「你的死期臨近了；要召約書亞來，你們二人站在會幕裡，我好囑咐他。」於是摩西和約書亞去站在會幕裡。Then the LORD said to Moses, “Behold, the time of your death is near. Call Joshua and present yourselves at the Tent of Meeting, so that I may commission him.” So Moses and Joshua went and presented themselves at the Tent of Meeting.

¹⁵耶和華在會幕裡雲柱中顯現，雲柱停在會幕門以上。Then the LORD appeared at the tent in a pillar of cloud, and the cloud stood over the entrance to the tent.

預言百姓要背約

¹⁶耶和華又對摩西說：「你必和你列祖同睡。這百姓要起來，在他們所要去的地上，在那地的人中，隨從外邦神行邪淫，離棄我，違背我與他們所立的約。And the LORD said to Moses, “You will soon rest with your fathers, and these people will rise up and prostitute themselves with the foreign gods of the land they are entering. They will forsake Me and break the covenant I have made with them.

¹⁷那時，我的怒氣必向他們發作；我也必離棄他們，掩面不顧他們，以致他們被吞滅，並有許多的禍患災難臨到他們。那日他們必說：『這些禍患臨到我們，豈不是因我們的　神不在我們中間嗎？』On that day My anger will burn against them, and I will abandon them and hide My face from them, so that they will be consumed, and many troubles and afflictions will befall them. On that day they will say, ‘Have not these disasters come upon us because our God is no longer with us?’

¹⁸那時，因他們偏向別神所行的一切惡，我必定掩面不顧他們。And on that day I will surely hide My face because of all the evil they have done by turning to other gods.

¹⁹現在你要寫一篇歌，教導以色列人，傳給他們，使這歌見證他們的不是；Now therefore, write down for yourselves this song and teach it to the Israelites; have them recite it, so that it may be a witness for Me against them.

²⁰因為我將他們領進我向他們列祖起誓應許那流奶與蜜之地，他們在那裡吃得飽足，身體肥胖，就必偏向別神，事奉他們，藐視我，背棄我的約。When I have brought them into the land that I swore to give their fathers, a land flowing with milk and honey, they will eat their fill and prosper. Then they will turn to other gods and worship them, and they will reject Me and break My covenant.

²¹那時，有許多禍患災難臨到他們，這歌必在他們面前作見證，他們後裔的口中必念誦不忘。我未領他們到我所起誓應許之地以先，他們所懷的意念我都知道了。」And when many troubles and afflictions have come upon them, this song will testify against them, because it will not be forgotten from the lips of their descendants. For I know their inclination, even before I bring them into the land that I swore to give them.”

²²當日摩西就寫了一篇歌，教導以色列人。So that very day Moses wrote down this song and taught it to the Israelites.

神囑咐約書亞

²³耶和華囑咐嫩的兒子約書亞說：「你當剛強壯膽，因為你必領以色列人進我所起誓應許他們的地；我必與你同在。」Then the LORD commissioned Joshua son of Nun and said, “Be strong and courageous, for you will bring the Israelites into the land that I swore to give them, and I will be with you.”

律法書放在約櫃旁

²⁴摩西將這律法的話寫在書上，及至寫完了，When Moses had finished writing in a book the words of this law from beginning to end,

²⁵就吩咐抬耶和華約櫃的利未人說：he gave this command to the Levites who carried the ark of the covenant of the LORD:

²⁶「將這律法書放在耶和華─你們　神的約櫃旁，可以在那裡見證以色列人的不是；“Take this Book of the Law and place it beside the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, so that it may remain there as a witness against you.

²⁷因為我知道你們是悖逆的，是硬著頸項的。我今日還活著與你們同在，你們尚且悖逆耶和華，何況我死後呢？For I know how rebellious and stiff-necked you are. If you are already rebelling against the LORD while I am still alive, how much more will you rebel after my death!

²⁸你們要將你們支派的眾長老和官長都招聚了來，我好將這些話說與他們聽，並呼天喚地見證他們的不是。Assemble before me all the elders of your tribes and all your officers so that I may speak these words in their hearing and call heaven and earth to witness against them.

²⁹我知道我死後，你們必全然敗壞，偏離我所吩咐你們的道，行耶和華眼中看為惡的事，以手所做的惹他發怒；日後必有禍患臨到你們。」For I know that after my death you will become utterly corrupt and turn from the path I have commanded you. And in the days to come, disaster will befall you because you will do evil in the sight of the LORD to provoke Him to anger by the work of your hands.”

在船上教導眾人

¹耶穌站在革尼撒勒湖邊，眾人擁擠他，要聽　神的道。On one occasion, while Jesus was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret with the crowd pressing in on Him to hear the word of God,

²他見有兩隻船灣在湖邊；打魚的人卻離開船洗網去了。He saw two boats at the edge of the lake. The fishermen had left them and were washing their nets.

³有一隻船是西門的，耶穌就上去，請他把船撐開，稍微離岸，就坐下，從船上教訓眾人。Jesus got into the boat belonging to Simon and asked him to put out a little from shore. And sitting down, He taught the people from the boat.

開到水深之處下網

⁴講完了，對西門說：「把船開到水深之處，下網打魚。」When Jesus had finished speaking, He said to Simon, “Put out into deep water and let down your nets for a catch.”

⁵西門說：「夫子，我們整夜勞力，並沒有打著甚麼。但依從你的話，我就下網。」“Master,” Simon replied, “we have worked hard all night without catching anything. But because You say so, I will let down the nets.”

⁶他們下了網，就圈住許多魚，網險些裂開，When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to tear.

⁷便招呼那隻船上的同伴來幫助。他們就來，把魚裝滿了兩隻船，甚至船要沉下去。So they signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them, and they came and filled both boats so full that they began to sink.

西門俯伏，蒙召得人

⁸西門•彼得看見，就俯伏在耶穌膝前，說：「主啊，離開我，我是個罪人！」When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus’ knees. “Go away from me, Lord,” he said, “for I am a sinful man.”

⁹他和一切同在的人都驚訝這一網所打的魚。For he and his companions were astonished at the catch of fish they had taken,

¹⁰他的夥伴西庇太的兒子雅各、約翰，也是這樣。耶穌對西門說：「不要怕！從今以後，你要得人了。」and so were his partners James and John, the sons of Zebedee. “Do not be afraid,” Jesus said to Simon. “From now on you will catch men.”

¹¹他們把兩隻船攏了岸，就撇下所有的，跟從了耶穌。And when they had brought their boats ashore, they left everything and followed Him.

潔淨長大痲瘋的人

¹²有一回，耶穌在一個城裡，有人滿身長了大痲瘋，看見他，就俯伏在地，求他說：「主若肯，必能叫我潔淨了。」While Jesus was in one of the towns, a man came along who was covered with leprosy. When he saw Jesus, he fell facedown and begged Him, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.”

¹³耶穌伸手摸他，說：「我肯，你潔淨了吧！」大痲瘋立刻就離了他的身。Jesus reached out His hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” He said. “Be clean!” And immediately the leprosy left him.

¹⁴耶穌囑咐他：「你切不可告訴人，只要去把身體給祭司察看，又要為你得了潔淨，照摩西所吩咐的獻上禮物，對眾人作證據。」“Do not tell anyone,” Jesus instructed him. “But go, show yourself to the priest and present the offering Moses prescribed for your cleansing, as a testimony to them.”

名聲傳揚，退到曠野禱告

¹⁵但耶穌的名聲越發傳揚出去。有極多的人聚集來聽道，也指望醫治他們的病。But the news about Jesus spread all the more, and great crowds came to hear Him and to be healed of their sicknesses.

¹⁶耶穌卻退到曠野去禱告。Yet He frequently withdrew to the wilderness to pray.
