全能的神與亞伯蘭立約

¹亞伯蘭年九十九歲的時候，耶和華向他顯現，對他說：「我是全能的　神。你當在我面前作完全人，When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to him and said, “I am God Almighty. Walk before Me and be blameless.

²我就與你立約，使你的後裔極其繁多。」I will establish My covenant between Me and you, and I will multiply you exceedingly.”

³亞伯蘭俯伏在地；　神又對他說：「Then Abram fell facedown, and God said to him,

改名亞伯拉罕

⁴我與你立約：你要作多國的父。“As for Me, this is My covenant with you: You will be the father of many nations.

⁵從此以後，你的名不再叫亞伯蘭，要叫亞伯拉罕，因為我已立你作多國的父。No longer will you be called Abram, but your name will be Abraham, for I have made you a father of many nations.

⁶我必使你的後裔極其繁多；國度從你而立，君王從你而出。I will make you exceedingly fruitful; I will make nations of you, and kings will descend from you.

⁷我要與你並你世世代代的後裔堅立我的約，作永遠的約，是要作你和你後裔的　神。I will establish My covenant as an everlasting covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you, to be your God and the God of your descendants after you.

⁸我要將你現在寄居的地，就是迦南全地，賜給你和你的後裔永遠為業，我也必作他們的　神。」And to you and your descendants I will give the land where you are residing—all the land of Canaan—as an eternal possession; and I will be their God.”

割禮是立約的證據

⁹神又對亞伯拉罕說：「你和你的後裔必世世代代遵守我的約。God also said to Abraham, “You must keep My covenant—you and your descendants in the generations after you.

¹⁰你們所有的男子都要受割禮；這就是我與你並你的後裔所立的約，是你們所當遵守的。This is My covenant with you and your descendants after you, which you are to keep: Every male among you must be circumcised.

¹¹你們都要受割禮；這是我與你們立約的證據。You are to circumcise the flesh of your foreskin, and this will be a sign of the covenant between Me and you.

¹²你們世世代代的男子，無論是家裡生的，是在你後裔之外用銀子從外人買的，生下來第八日，都要受割禮。Generation after generation, every male must be circumcised when he is eight days old, including those born in your household and those purchased from a foreigner—even those who are not your offspring.

¹³你家裡生的和你用銀子買的，都必須受割禮。這樣，我的約就立在你們肉體上作永遠的約。Whether they are born in your household or purchased, they must be circumcised. My covenant in your flesh will be an everlasting covenant.

¹⁴但不受割禮的男子必從民中剪除，因他背了我的約。」But if any male is not circumcised, he will be cut off from his people; he has broken My covenant.”

撒萊改名撒拉

¹⁵神又對亞伯拉罕說：「你的妻子撒萊不可再叫撒萊，她的名要叫撒拉。Then God said to Abraham, “As for Sarai your wife, do not call her Sarai, for her name is to be Sarah.

¹⁶我必賜福給她，也要使你從她得一個兒子。我要賜福給她，她也要作多國之母；必有百姓的君王從她而出。」And I will bless her and will surely give you a son by her. I will bless her, and she will be the mother of nations; kings of peoples will descend from her.”

亞伯拉罕喜笑

¹⁷亞伯拉罕就俯伏在地喜笑，心裡說：「一百歲的人還能得孩子嗎？撒拉已經九十歲了，還能生養嗎？」Abraham fell facedown. Then he laughed and said to himself, “Can a child be born to a man who is a hundred years old? Can Sarah give birth at the age of ninety?”

¹⁸亞伯拉罕對　神說：「但願以實瑪利活在你面前。」And Abraham said to God, “O that Ishmael might live under Your blessing!”

¹⁹神說：「不然，你妻子撒拉要給你生一個兒子，你要給他起名叫以撒。我要與他堅定所立的約，作他後裔永遠的約。But God replied, “Your wife Sarah will indeed bear you a son, and you are to name him Isaac. I will establish My covenant with him as an everlasting covenant for his descendants after him.

²⁰至於以實瑪利，我也應允你：我必賜福給他，使他昌盛，極其繁多。他必生十二個族長；我也要使他成為大國。As for Ishmael, I have heard you, and I will surely bless him; I will make him fruitful and multiply him greatly. He will become the father of twelve rulers, and I will make him into a great nation.

²¹到明年這時節，撒拉必給你生以撒，我要與他堅定所立的約。」But I will establish My covenant with Isaac, whom Sarah will bear to you at this time next year.”

²²神和亞伯拉罕說完了話，就離開他上升去了。When He had finished speaking with Abraham, God went up from him.

全家受割禮

²³正當那日，亞伯拉罕遵著　神的命，給他的兒子以實瑪利和家裡的一切男子，無論是在家裡生的，是用銀子買的，都行了割禮。On that very day Abraham took his son Ishmael and all those born in his household or purchased with his money—every male among the members of Abraham’s household—and he circumcised them, just as God had told him.

²⁴亞伯拉罕受割禮的時候年九十九歲。So Abraham was ninety-nine years old when he was circumcised,

²⁵他兒子以實瑪利受割禮的時候年十三歲。and his son Ishmael was thirteen;

²⁶正當那日，亞伯拉罕和他兒子以實瑪利一同受了割禮。Abraham and his son Ishmael were circumcised on the same day.

²⁷家裡所有的人，無論是在家裡生的，是用銀子從外人買的，也都一同受了割禮。And all the men of Abraham’s household—both servants born in his household and those purchased from foreigners—were circumcised with him.

接待三位客人

¹耶和華在幔利橡樹那裡向亞伯拉罕顯現出來。那時正熱，亞伯拉罕坐在帳棚門口，Then the LORD appeared to Abraham by the Oaks of Mamre in the heat of the day, while he was sitting at the entrance of his tent.

²舉目觀看，見有三個人在對面站著。他一見，就從帳棚門口跑去迎接他們，俯伏在地，And Abraham looked up and saw three men standing nearby. When he saw them, he ran from the entrance of his tent to meet them and bowed low to the ground.

³說：「我主，我若在你眼前蒙恩，求你不要離開僕人往前去。“My lord,” said Abraham, “if I have found favor in your sight, please do not pass your servant by.

⁴容我拿點水來，你們洗洗腳，在樹下歇息歇息。Let a little water be brought, that you may wash your feet and rest yourselves under the tree.

⁵我再拿一點餅來，你們可以加添心力，然後往前去。你們既到僕人這裡來，理當如此。」他們說：「就照你說的行吧。」And I will bring a bit of bread so that you may refresh yourselves. This is why you have passed your servant’s way. After that, you may continue on your way.” “Yes,” they replied, “you may do as you have said.”

⁶亞伯拉罕急忙進帳棚見撒拉，說：「你速速拿三細亞細麵調和做餅。」So Abraham hurried into the tent and said to Sarah, “Quick! Prepare three seahs of fine flour, knead it, and bake some bread.”

⁷亞伯拉罕又跑到牛群裡，牽了一隻又嫩又好的牛犢來，交給僕人，僕人急忙預備好了。Meanwhile, Abraham ran to the herd, selected a tender and choice calf, and gave it to a servant, who hurried to prepare it.

⁸亞伯拉罕又取了奶油和奶，並預備好的牛犢來，擺在他們面前，自己在樹下站在旁邊，他們就吃了。Then Abraham brought curds and milk and the calf that had been prepared, and he set them before the men and stood by them under the tree as they ate.

撒拉必生一個兒子

⁹他們問亞伯拉罕說：「你妻子撒拉在哪裡？」他說：「在帳棚裡。」“Where is your wife Sarah?” they asked. “There, in the tent,” he replied.

¹⁰三人中有一位說：「到明年這時候，我必要回到你這裡；你的妻子撒拉必生一個兒子。」撒拉在那人後邊的帳棚門口也聽見了這話。Then the LORD said, “I will surely return to you at this time next year, and your wife Sarah will have a son!” Now Sarah was behind him, listening at the entrance to the tent.

¹¹亞伯拉罕和撒拉年紀老邁，撒拉的月經已斷絕了。And Abraham and Sarah were already old and well along in years; Sarah had passed the age of childbearing.

¹²撒拉心裡暗笑，說：「我既已衰敗，我主也老邁，豈能有這喜事呢？」So she laughed to herself, saying, “After I am worn out and my master is old, will I now have this pleasure?”

¹³耶和華對亞伯拉罕說：「撒拉為甚麼暗笑，說：『我既已年老，果真能生養嗎？』And the LORD asked Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh and say, ‘Can I really bear a child when I am old?’

¹⁴耶和華豈有難成的事嗎？到了日期，明年這時候，我必回到你這裡，撒拉必生一個兒子。」Is anything too difficult for the LORD? At the appointed time I will return to you—in about a year—and Sarah will have a son.”

¹⁵撒拉就害怕，不承認，說：「我沒有笑。」那位說：「不然，你實在笑了。」But Sarah was afraid, so she denied it and said, “I did not laugh.” “No,” replied the LORD, “but you did laugh.”

送客同行，神不瞞亞伯拉罕

¹⁶三人就從那裡起行，向所多瑪觀看，亞伯拉罕也與他們同行，要送他們一程。When the men got up to leave, they looked out over Sodom, and Abraham walked along with them to see them off.

¹⁷耶和華說：「我所要做的事豈可瞞著亞伯拉罕呢？And the LORD said, “Shall I hide from Abraham what I am about to do?

¹⁸亞伯拉罕必要成為強大的國；地上的萬國都必因他得福。Abraham will surely become a great and powerful nation, and through him all the nations of the earth will be blessed.

¹⁹我眷顧他，為要叫他吩咐他的眾子和他的眷屬遵守我的道，秉公行義，使我所應許亞伯拉罕的話都成就了。」For I have chosen him, so that he will command his children and his household after him to keep the way of the LORD by doing what is right and just, in order that the LORD may bring upon Abraham what He has promised.”

²⁰耶和華說：「所多瑪和蛾摩拉的罪惡甚重，聲聞於我。Then the LORD said, “The outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is great. Because their sin is so grievous,

²¹我現在要下去，察看他們所行的，果然盡像那達到我耳中的聲音一樣嗎？若是不然，我也必知道。」I will go down to see if their actions fully justify the outcry that has reached Me. If not, I will find out.”

為所多瑪代求

²²二人轉身離開那裡，向所多瑪去；但亞伯拉罕仍舊站在耶和華面前。And the two men turned away and went toward Sodom, but Abraham remained standing before the LORD.

²³亞伯拉罕近前來，說：「無論善惡，你都要剿滅嗎？Abraham stepped forward and said, “Will You really sweep away the righteous with the wicked?

²⁴假若那城裡有五十個義人，你還剿滅那地方嗎？不為城裡這五十個義人饒恕其中的人嗎？What if there are fifty righteous ones in the city? Will You really sweep it away and not spare the place for the sake of the fifty righteous ones who are there?

²⁵將義人與惡人同殺，將義人與惡人一樣看待，這斷不是你所行的。審判全地的主豈不行公義嗎？」Far be it from You to do such a thing—to kill the righteous with the wicked, so that the righteous and the wicked are treated alike. Far be it from You! Will not the Judge of all the earth do what is right?”

²⁶耶和華說：「我若在所多瑪城裡見有五十個義人，我就為他們的緣故饒恕那地方的眾人。」So the LORD replied, “If I find fifty righteous ones within the city of Sodom, on their account I will spare the whole place.”

²⁷亞伯拉罕說：「我雖然是灰塵，還敢對主說話。Then Abraham answered, “Now that I have ventured to speak to the Lord—though I am but dust and ashes—

²⁸假若這五十個義人短了五個，你就因為短了五個毀滅全城嗎？」他說：「我在那裡若見有四十五個，也不毀滅那城。」suppose the fifty righteous ones lack five. Will You destroy the whole city for the lack of five?” He replied, “If I find forty-five there, I will not destroy it.”

²⁹亞伯拉罕又對他說：「假若在那裡見有四十個怎麼樣呢？」他說：「為這四十個的緣故，我也不做這事。」Once again Abraham spoke to the LORD, “Suppose forty are found there?” He answered, “On account of the forty, I will not do it.”

³⁰亞伯拉罕說：「求主不要動怒，容我說，假若在那裡見有三十個怎麼樣呢？」他說：「我在那裡若見有三十個，我也不做這事。」Then Abraham said, “May the Lord not be angry, but let me speak further. Suppose thirty are found there?” He replied, “If I find thirty there, I will not do it.”

³¹亞伯拉罕說：「我還敢對主說話，假若在那裡見有二十個怎麼樣呢？」他說：「為這二十個的緣故，我也不毀滅那城。」And Abraham said, “Now that I have ventured to speak to the Lord, suppose twenty are found there?” He answered, “On account of the twenty, I will not destroy it.”

³²亞伯拉罕說：「求主不要動怒，我再說這一次，假若在那裡見有十個呢？」他說：「為這十個的緣故，我也不毀滅那城。」Finally, Abraham said, “May the Lord not be angry, but let me speak once more. Suppose ten are found there?” And He answered, “On account of the ten, I will not destroy it.”

³³耶和華與亞伯拉罕說完了話就走了；亞伯拉罕也回到自己的地方去了。When the LORD had finished speaking with Abraham, He departed, and Abraham returned home.

不可故意叫人看見

¹「你們要小心，不可將善事行在人的面前，故意叫他們看見，若是這樣，就不能得你們天父的賞賜了。“Be careful not to perform your righteous acts before men to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.

暗中施捨

²所以，你施捨的時候，不可在你前面吹號，像那假冒為善的人在會堂裡和街道上所行的，故意要得人的榮耀。我實在告訴你們，他們已經得了他們的賞賜。So when you give to the needy, do not sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by men. Truly I tell you, they already have their full reward.

³你施捨的時候，不要叫左手知道右手所做的，But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,

⁴要叫你施捨的事行在暗中。你父在暗中察看，必然報答你（有古卷：必在明處報答你）。」so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

暗中禱告

⁵「你們禱告的時候，不可像那假冒為善的人，愛站在會堂裡和十字路口上禱告，故意叫人看見。我實在告訴你們，他們已經得了他們的賞賜。And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. Truly I tell you, they already have their full reward.

⁶你禱告的時候，要進你的內屋，關上門，禱告你在暗中的父；你父在暗中察看，必然報答你。But when you pray, go into your inner room, shut your door, and pray to your Father, who is unseen. And your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

⁷你們禱告，不可像外邦人，用許多重複話，他們以為話多了必蒙垂聽。And when you pray, do not babble on like pagans, for they think that by their many words they will be heard.

⁸你們不可效法他們；因為你們沒有祈求以先，你們所需用的，你們的父早已知道了。Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.

主禱文

⁹所以，你們禱告要這樣說：我們在天上的父：願人都尊你的名為聖。So then, this is how you should pray: ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name.

¹⁰願你的國降臨；願你的旨意行在地上，如同行在天上。Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

¹¹我們日用的飲食，今日賜給我們。Give us this day our daily bread.

¹²免我們的債，如同我們免了人的債。And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.

¹³不叫我們遇見試探；救我們脫離兇惡（或譯：脫離惡者）。因為國度、權柄、榮耀，全是你的，直到永遠。阿們（有古卷沒有因為……阿們等字）！And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’

饒恕人的過犯

¹⁴「你們饒恕人的過犯，你們的天父也必饒恕你們的過犯；For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.

¹⁵你們不饒恕人的過犯，你們的天父也必不饒恕你們的過犯。」But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive yours.

暗中禁食

¹⁶「你們禁食的時候，不可像那假冒為善的人，臉上帶著愁容；因為他們把臉弄得難看，故意叫人看出他們是禁食。我實在告訴你們，他們已經得了他們的賞賜。When you fast, do not be somber like the hypocrites, for they disfigure their faces to show men they are fasting. Truly I tell you, they already have their full reward.

¹⁷你禁食的時候，要梳頭洗臉，But when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face,

¹⁸不叫人看出你禁食來，只叫你暗中的父看見；你父在暗中察看，必然報答你。」so that your fasting will not be obvious to men, but only to your Father, who is unseen. And your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

積攢財寶在天上

¹⁹「不要為自己積攢財寶在地上；地上有蟲子咬，能銹壞，也有賊挖窟窿來偷。Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.

²⁰只要積攢財寶在天上；天上沒有蟲子咬，不能銹壞，也沒有賊挖窟窿來偷。But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.

²¹因為你的財寶在哪裡，你的心也在那裡。」For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

眼睛是身上的燈

²²「眼睛就是身上的燈。你的眼睛若瞭亮，全身就光明；The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are good, your whole body will be full of light.

²³你的眼睛若昏花，全身就黑暗。你裡頭的光若黑暗了，那黑暗是何等大呢！」But if your eyes are bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!

不能事奉兩個主

²⁴「一個人不能事奉兩個主；不是惡這個、愛那個，就是重這個、輕那個。你們不能又事奉　神，又事奉瑪門（瑪門：財利的意思）。」No one can serve two masters: Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.

不要憂慮

²⁵「所以我告訴你們，不要為生命憂慮吃甚麼，喝甚麼；為身體憂慮穿甚麼。生命不勝於飲食嗎？身體不勝於衣裳嗎？Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?

²⁶你們看那天上的飛鳥，也不種，也不收，也不積蓄在倉裡，你們的天父尚且養活牠。你們不比飛鳥貴重得多嗎？Look at the birds of the air: They do not sow or reap or gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?

²⁷你們哪一個能用思慮使壽數多加一刻呢（或譯：使身量多加一肘呢）？Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?

²⁸何必為衣裳憂慮呢？你想野地裡的百合花怎麼長起來；它也不勞苦，也不紡線。And why do you worry about clothes? Consider how the lilies of the field grow: They do not labor or spin.

²⁹然而我告訴你們，就是所羅門極榮華的時候，他所穿戴的，還不如這花一朵呢！Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his glory was adorned like one of these.

³⁰你們這小信的人哪！野地裡的草今天還在，明天就丟在爐裡，　神還給它這樣的妝飾，何況你們呢！If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?

³¹所以，不要憂慮說，吃甚麼？喝甚麼？穿甚麼？Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’

³²這都是外邦人所求的，你們需用的這一切東西，你們的天父是知道的。For the Gentiles strive after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.

先求祂的國和祂的義

³³你們要先求他的國和他的義，這些東西都要加給你們了。But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you.

³⁴所以，不要為明天憂慮，因為明天自有明天的憂慮；一天的難處一天當就夠了。」Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Today has enough trouble of its own.
