2劝老年人要有节制、、自守，在信心、爱心、忍耐上都要纯全无疵。Older men are to be temperate, dignified, self-controlled, and sound in faith, love, and perseverance.
3又劝老年妇人，举止行动要，不说谗言，不，用善道教训人，Older women, likewise, are to be reverent in their behavior, not slanderers or addicted to much wine, but teachers of good.
4好指教少年妇人，爱丈夫，爱儿女，In this way they can train the young women to love their husbands and children,
5谨守，贞洁，，待人有恩，顺服自己的丈夫，免得 神的道理被毁谤。to be self-controlled, pure, managers of their households, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be discredited.
6又劝少年人要谨守。In the same way, urge the younger men to be self-controlled.
7你自己凡事要显出善行的榜样；在教训上要、端庄，In everything, show yourself to be an example by doing good works. In your teaching show integrity, dignity,
8言语纯全，无可指责，叫那反对的人，既无处可说我们的不是，便自觉羞愧。and wholesome speech that is above reproach, so that anyone who opposes us will be ashamed, having nothing bad to say about us.
9劝仆人要顺服自己的主人，凡事讨他的喜欢，不可他，Slaves are to submit to their own masters in everything, to be well-pleasing, not argumentative,
10不可东西，要显为忠诚，以致凡事尊荣我们救主— 神的道。not stealing from them, but showing all good faith, so that in every respect they will adorn the teaching about God our Savior.
11因为 神救众人的恩典已经显明出来，For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to everyone.
12教训我们除去不敬虔的心和世俗的情欲，在今世、公义、敬虔度日，It instructs us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live sensible, upright, and godly lives in the present age,
13等候所盼望的福，并等候至大的 神和我们（或译： 神—我们）耶稣基督的荣耀。as we await the blessed hope and glorious appearance of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ.
14他为我们舍了自己，要我们脱离一切罪恶，又洁净我们，特作，。He gave Himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds.
15这些事你要讲明，劝戒人，用各等权柄责备人；不可叫人你。Speak these things as you encourage and rebuke with all authority. Let no one despise you.
