1（大卫的诗，交与伶长。）我曾说：我要谨慎我的言行，免得我舌头犯罪；恶人在我面前的时候，我要用嚼环勒住我的口。For the choirmaster. For Jeduthun. A Psalm of David. I said, “I will watch my ways so that I will not sin with my tongue; I will guard my mouth with a muzzle as long as the wicked are present.”
2我默然无声，连好话也不出口；我的愁苦就发动了，I was speechless and still; I remained silent, even from speaking good, and my sorrow was stirred.
3我的心在我里面发热。我默想的时候，火就烧起，我便用舌头说话。My heart grew hot within me; as I mused, the fire burned. Then I spoke with my tongue:
4耶和华啊，求你叫我晓得我身之终！我的寿数几何？叫我知道我的生命不长！“Show me, O LORD, my end and the measure of my days. Let me know how fleeting my life is.
5你使我的年日；我一生的年数，在你面前如同无有。各人最稳妥的时候，真是全然。（细拉）You, indeed, have made my days as handbreadths, and my lifetime as nothing before You. Truly each man at his best exists as but a breath. Selah
6世人行动实系。他们忙乱，真是枉然；积蓄财宝，不知将来有谁收取。Surely every man goes about like a phantom; surely he bustles in vain; he heaps up riches not knowing who will haul them away.
7主啊，如今我等什么呢？我的指望在乎你！And now, O Lord, for what do I wait? My hope is in You.
8求你救我脱离一切的过犯，不要使我受愚顽人的羞辱。Deliver me from all my transgressions; do not make me the reproach of fools.
9因我所遭遇的是出于你，我就默然不语。I have become mute; I do not open my mouth because of what You have done.
10求你把你的责罚从我身上免去；因你手的责打，我便消灭。Remove Your scourge from me; I am perishing by the force of Your hand.
11你因人的罪恶惩罚他的时候，叫他的笑容（的笑容：或译所喜爱的）消灭，如衣被虫所咬。世人真是虚幻！（细拉）You discipline and correct a man for his iniquity, consuming like a moth what he holds dear; surely each man is but a vapor. Selah
12耶和华啊，求你听我的祷告，留心听我的呼求！我流泪，求你不要静默无声！因为我在你面前是，是寄居的，像我列祖一般。Hear my prayer, O LORD, and give ear to my cry for help; do not be deaf to my weeping. For I am a foreigner dwelling with You, a stranger like all my fathers.
13求你，使我在去而不返之先可以力量复原。Turn Your gaze away from me, that I may again be cheered before I depart and am no more.”
