1以色列人出埃及地以后，第二年正月，耶和华在西奈的旷野吩咐摩西说：In the first month of the second year after Israel had come out of the land of Egypt, the LORD spoke to Moses in the Wilderness of Sinai:
2“以色列人应当在所定的日期守，“The Israelites are to observe the Passover at its appointed time.
3就是本月十四日的时候，你们要在所定的日期守这节，要按这节的律例典章而守。”You are to observe it at the appointed time, at twilight on the fourteenth day of this month, in accordance with its statutes and ordinances.”
4于是摩西吩咐以色列人守逾越节。So Moses told the Israelites to observe the Passover,
5他们就在西奈的旷野，正月十四日黄昏的时候，守逾越节。凡耶和华所吩咐摩西的，以色列人都照样行了。and they did so in the Wilderness of Sinai, at twilight on the fourteenth day of the first month. The Israelites did everything just as the LORD had commanded Moses.
6有几个人因死尸而不洁净，不能在那日守逾越节。当日他们到摩西、亚伦面前，But there were some men who were unclean due to a dead body, so they could not observe the Passover on that day. And they came before Moses and Aaron that same day
7说：“我们虽因死尸而不洁净，为何被阻止、不得同以色列人在所定的日期献耶和华的供物呢？”and said to Moses, “We are unclean because of a dead body, but why should we be excluded from presenting the LORD’s offering with the other Israelites at the appointed time?”
8摩西对他们说：“你们暂且等候，我可以去听耶和华指着你们是怎样吩咐的。”“Wait here until I find out what the LORD commands concerning you,” Moses replied.
9耶和华对摩西说：Then the LORD said to Moses,
10“你晓谕以色列人说：你们和你们后代中，若有人因死尸而不洁净，或在远方行路，还要向耶和华守逾越节。“Tell the Israelites: ‘When any one of you or your descendants is unclean because of a dead body, or is away on a journey, he may still observe the Passover to the LORD.
11他们要在二月十四日黄昏的时候，守逾越节。要用无酵饼与，和逾越节的羊羔同吃。Such people are to observe it at twilight on the fourteenth day of the second month. They are to eat the lamb, together with unleavened bread and bitter herbs;
12一点不可留到早晨；羊羔的骨头一根也不可折断。他们要照逾越节的一切律例而守。they may not leave any of it until morning or break any of its bones. They must observe the Passover according to all its statutes.
13那洁净而不行路的人若不守逾越节，那人要从民中；因为他在所定的日期不献耶和华的供物，应该担当他的罪。But if a man who is ceremonially clean and is not on a journey still fails to observe the Passover, he must be cut off from his people, because he did not present the LORD’s offering at its appointed time. That man will bear the consequences of his sin.
14若有外人寄居在你们中间，愿意向耶和华守逾越节，他要照逾越节的律例典章行，不管是寄居的是本地人，。”If a foreigner dwelling among you wants to observe the Passover to the LORD, he is to do so according to the Passover statute and its ordinances. You are to apply the same statute to both the foreigner and the native of the land.’”
15立起帐幕的那日，有云彩遮盖帐幕，就是；从晚上到早晨，云彩在其上，形状如火。On the day that the tabernacle, the Tent of the Testimony, was set up, the cloud covered it and appeared like fire above the tabernacle from evening until morning.
16常是这样，云彩遮盖帐幕，夜间形状如火。It remained that way continually; the cloud would cover the tabernacle by day, and at night it would appear like fire.
17云彩几时从帐幕收上去，以色列人就几时起行；云彩在哪里停住，以色列人就在那里安营。Whenever the cloud was lifted from above the Tent, the Israelites would set out, and wherever the cloud settled, there the Israelites would camp.
18以色列人遵耶和华的吩咐起行，也遵耶和华的吩咐安营。云彩在帐幕上停住几时，他们就住营几时。At the LORD’s command the Israelites set out, and at the LORD’s command they camped. As long as the cloud remained over the tabernacle, they remained encamped.
19云彩在帐幕上停留许多日子，以色列人就守耶和华所吩咐的不起行。Even when the cloud lingered over the tabernacle for many days, the Israelites kept the LORD’s charge and did not set out.
20有时云彩在帐幕上几天，他们就照耶和华的吩咐住营，也照耶和华的吩咐起行。Sometimes the cloud remained over the tabernacle for only a few days, and they would camp at the LORD’s command and set out at the LORD’s command.
21有时从晚上到早晨，有这云彩在帐幕上；早晨云彩收上去，他们就起行。有时昼夜云彩停在帐幕上，收上去的时候，他们就起行。Sometimes the cloud remained only from evening until morning, and when it lifted in the morning, they would set out. Whether it was by day or by night, when the cloud was taken up, they would set out.
22云彩停留在帐幕上，无论是两天，是一月，是一年，以色列人就住营不起行；但云彩收上去，他们就起行。Whether the cloud lingered for two days, a month, or longer, the Israelites camped and did not set out as long as the cloud remained over the tabernacle; but when it was lifted, they would set out.
23他们遵耶和华的吩咐安营，也遵耶和华的吩咐起行。他们守耶和华所吩咐的，都是凭耶和华吩咐摩西的。They camped at the LORD’s command, and they set out at the LORD’s command; they carried out the LORD’s charge according to His command through Moses.
