1这事以后，耶稣在加利利游行，不愿在犹太游行，因为犹太人想要杀他。After this, Jesus traveled throughout Galilee. He did not want to travel in Judea, because the Jews there were trying to kill Him.
2当时犹太人的近了。However, the Jewish Feast of Tabernacles was near.
3就对他说：“你离开这里上犹太去吧，叫你的门徒也看见你所行的事。So Jesus’ brothers said to Him, “Leave here and go to Judea, so that Your disciples there may see the works You are doing.
4人要显扬名声，没有在暗处行事的；你如果行这些事，就当将自己显明给世人看。”For no one who wants to be known publicly acts in secret. Since You are doing these things, show Yourself to the world.”
5因为连他的弟兄说这话，是因为不信他。For even His own brothers did not believe in Him.
6耶稣就对他们说：“我的时候还没有到；你们的时候常是的。Therefore Jesus told them, “Although your time is always at hand, My time has not yet come.
7世人不能恨你们，却是恨我，因为我指证他们所做的事是恶的。The world cannot hate you, but it hates Me, because I testify that its works are evil.
8你们上去过节吧，我现在不上去过这节，因为我的时候还没有满。”Go up to the feast on your own. I am not going up to this feast, because My time has not yet come.”
9耶稣说了这话，仍旧住在加利利。Having said this, Jesus remained in Galilee.
10但他弟兄上去以后，他也上去过节，不是明去，似乎是暗去的。But after His brothers had gone up to the feast, He also went—not publicly, but in secret.
11正在节期，犹太人寻找耶稣，说：“他在哪里？”So the Jews were looking for Him at the feast and asking, “Where is He?”
12众人为他纷纷议论，有的说：“他是好人。”有的说：“不然，他是的。”Many in the crowds were whispering about Him. Some said, “He is a good man.” But others replied, “No, He deceives the people.”
13只是没有人明明地讲论他，因为怕犹太人。Yet no one would speak publicly about Him for fear of the Jews.
14到了节期，耶稣上殿里去教训人。About halfway through the feast, Jesus went up to the temple courts and began to teach.
15犹太人就希奇，说：“这个人没有学过，怎么呢？”The Jews were amazed and asked, “How did this man attain such learning without having studied?”
16耶稣说：“我的教训不是我自己的，乃是那差我来者的。“My teaching is not My own,” Jesus replied. “It comes from Him who sent Me.
17人若遵着他的旨意行，就必晓得这教训或是出于 神，或是我凭着自己说的。If anyone desires to do His will, he will know whether My teaching is from God or whether I speak on My own.
18人凭着自己说，是求自己的荣耀；惟有求那差他来者的荣耀，这人是真的，在他心里没有不义。He who speaks on his own authority seeks his own glory, but He who seeks the glory of the One who sent Him is a man of truth; in Him there is no falsehood.
19摩西岂不是传律法给你们吗？你们却没有一个人守律法。为什么想要杀我呢？”Has not Moses given you the law? Yet not one of you keeps it. Why are you trying to kill Me?”
20众人回答说：“你是！谁想要杀你？”“You have a demon,” the crowd replied. “Who is trying to kill You?”
21耶稣说：“我做了一件事，你们都以为希奇。Jesus answered them, “I did one miracle, and you are all amazed.
22摩西传给你们（其实不是从摩西起的，乃是从祖先起的），因此你们也在安息日给人行割礼。But because Moses gave you circumcision, you circumcise a boy on the Sabbath (not that it is from Moses, but from the patriarchs.)
23人若在安息日受割礼，免得违背摩西的律法，我在安息日叫一个人全然好了，你们就向我生气吗？If a boy can be circumcised on the Sabbath so that the law of Moses will not be broken, why are you angry with Me for making the whole man well on the Sabbath?
24不可，总要按公平断定是非。”Stop judging by outward appearances, and start judging justly.”
25耶路撒冷人中有的说：“这不是他们想要杀的人吗？Then some of the people of Jerusalem began to say, “Isn’t this the man they are trying to kill?
26你看他还明明地讲道，他们也不向他说什么，难道官长真知道这是基督吗？Yet here He is, speaking publicly, and they are not saying anything to Him. Have the rulers truly recognized that this is the Christ?
27然而，我们知道这个人从哪里来；只是基督来的时候，没有人知道他从哪里来。”But we know where this man is from. When the Christ comes, no one will know where He is from.”
28那时，耶稣在殿里教训人，大声说：“你们也知道我，也知道我从哪里来；我来并不是由于自己。但那差我来的是真的。你们不认识他，Then Jesus, still teaching in the temple courts, cried out, “You know Me, and you know where I am from. I have not come of My own accord, but He who sent Me is true. You do not know Him,
29我却认识他；因为我是从他来的，他也是差了我来。”but I know Him, because I am from Him and He sent Me.”
30他们就想要捉拿耶稣；只是没有人下手，因为他的时候还没有到。So they tried to seize Him, but no one laid a hand on Him, because His hour had not yet come.
31但众人中间有好些信他的，说：“基督来的时候，他所行的神迹岂能比这人所行的更多吗？”Many in the crowd, however, believed in Him and said, “When the Christ comes, will He perform more signs than this man?”
32法利赛人听见众人为耶稣这样纷纷议论，和法利赛人就打发去捉拿他。When the Pharisees heard the crowd whispering these things about Jesus, they and the chief priests sent officers to arrest Him.
33于是耶稣说：“我还有不多的时候和你们同在，以后就回到差我来的那里去。So Jesus said, “I am with you only a little while longer, and then I am going to the One who sent Me.
34你们要找我，却找不着；我所在的地方你们不能到。”You will look for Me, but you will not find Me; and where I am, you cannot come.”
35犹太人就彼此对问说：“这人要往哪里去，叫我们找不着呢？难道他要往那里去教训希腊人吗？At this, the Jews said to one another, “Where does He intend to go that we will not find Him? Will He go where the Jews are dispersed among the Greeks, and teach the Greeks?
36他说：‘你们要找我，却找不着；我所在的地方，你们不能到’，这话是什么意思呢？”What does He mean by saying, ‘You will look for Me, but you will not find Me,’ and, ‘Where I am, you cannot come’?”
37，就是最大之日，耶稣站着高声说：“人若渴了，可以到我这里来喝。On the last and greatest day of the feast, Jesus stood up and called out in a loud voice, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink.
38信我的人就如经上所说：‘从他要流出的江河来。’”Whoever believes in Me, as the Scripture has said: ‘Streams of living water will flow from within him.’”
39耶稣这话是指着信他之人要受圣灵说的。那时还没有赐下圣灵来，因为耶稣尚未得着荣耀。He was speaking about the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were later to receive. For the Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus had not yet been glorified.
40众人听见这话，有的说：“这真是那先知。”On hearing these words, some of the people said, “This is truly the Prophet.”
41有的说：“这是基督。”但也有的说：“基督岂是从加利利出来的吗？Others declared, “This is the Christ.” But still others asked, “How can the Christ come from Galilee?
42经上岂不是说‘基督是大卫的后裔，从大卫本乡出来的’吗？”Doesn’t the Scripture say that the Christ will come from the line of David and from Bethlehem, the village where David lived?”
43于是众人因着耶稣起了。So there was division in the crowd because of Jesus.
44其中有人要捉拿他，只是无人下手。Some of them wanted to seize Him, but no one laid a hand on Him.
45差役回到和法利赛人那里。他们对差役说：“你们为什么没有带他来呢？”Then the officers returned to the chief priests and Pharisees, who asked them, “Why didn’t you bring Him in?”
46差役回答说：“从来没有像他这样说话的！”“Never has anyone spoken like this man!” the officers answered.
47法利赛人说：“你们也受了迷惑吗？“Have you also been deceived?” replied the Pharisees.
48官长或是法利赛人岂有信他的呢？“Have any of the rulers or Pharisees believed in Him?
49但这些不明白律法的百姓是！”But this crowd that does not know the law—they are under a curse.”
50内中有，就是从前去见耶稣的，对他们说：Nicodemus, who had gone to Jesus earlier and who himself was one of them, asked,
51“不先听本人的，不知道他所做的事，难道我们的律法还定他的罪吗？”“Does our law convict a man without first hearing from him to determine what he has done?”
52他们回答说：“你也是出于吗？你且去，就可知道加利利没有出过先知。”“Aren’t you also from Galilee?” they replied. “Look into it, and you will see that no prophet comes out of Galilee.”
53于是各人都回家去了；Then each went to his own home.
