1耶利米向众百姓说完了耶和华—他们 神的一切话，就是耶和华—他们 神差遣他去所说的一切话。When Jeremiah had finished telling all the people all the words of the LORD their God—everything that the LORD had sent him to say—
2何沙雅的儿子亚撒利雅和加利亚的儿子约哈难，并一切狂傲的人，就对耶利米说：“你说谎言！耶和华—我们的 神并没有差遣你来说：‘你们不可进入埃及，在那里寄居。’Azariah son of Hoshaiah, Johanan son of Kareah, and all the arrogant men said to Jeremiah, “You are lying! The LORD our God has not sent you to say, ‘You must not go to Egypt to reside there.’
3这是尼利亚的儿子巴录你害我们，要将我们交在迦勒底人的手中，使我们有被杀的，有被掳到巴比伦去的。”Rather, Baruch son of Neriah is inciting you against us to deliver us into the hands of the Chaldeans, so that they may put us to death or exile us to Babylon!”
4于是加利亚的儿子约哈难和一切军长，并众百姓，不听从耶和华的话住在犹大地。So Johanan son of Kareah and all the commanders of the forces disobeyed the command of the LORD to stay in the land of Judah.
5–6加利亚的儿子约哈难和一切军长却将所剩下的犹大人，就是从被赶到各国回来在犹大地寄居的男人、妇女、孩童，和众公主，并护卫长尼布撒拉旦所留在沙番的孙子亚希甘的儿子基大利那里的众人，与先知耶利米，以及尼利亚的儿子巴录，Instead, Johanan son of Kareah and all the commanders of the forces took the whole remnant of Judah, those who had returned to the land of Judah from all the nations to which they had been scattered, the men, the women, the children, the king’s daughters, and everyone whom Nebuzaradan captain of the guard had allowed to remain with Gedaliah son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, as well as Jeremiah the prophet and Baruch son of Neriah.
7都带入埃及地，到了。这是因他们不听从耶和华的话。So they entered the land of Egypt because they did not obey the voice of the LORD, and they went as far as Tahpanhes.
8在答比匿，耶和华的话临到耶利米说：Then the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah at Tahpanhes:
9“你在犹大人眼前要用手拿几块大石头，藏在中，就是在答比匿法老的宫门那里，“In the sight of the Jews, pick up some large stones and bury them in the clay of the brick pavement at the entrance to Pharaoh’s palace at Tahpanhes.
10对他们说：‘万军之耶和华—以色列的 神如此说：我必召我的仆人巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒来。在所藏的石头上我要安置他的宝座；他必将光华的支搭在其上。Then tell them that this is what the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: ‘I will send for My servant Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and I will set his throne over these stones that I have embedded, and he will spread his royal pavilion over them.
11他要来攻击埃及地，定为死亡的，必致死亡；定为掳掠的，必被掳掠；定为刀杀的，必交刀杀。He will come and strike down the land of Egypt, bringing death to those destined for death, captivity to those destined for captivity, and the sword to those destined for the sword.
12我要在埃及神的庙中使火着起，巴比伦王要将庙宇焚烧，神像掳去；他要得（原文是披上）埃及地，好像牧人，从那里安然而去。I will kindle a fire in the temples of the gods of Egypt, and Nebuchadnezzar will burn those temples and take their gods as captives. So he will wrap himself with the land of Egypt as a shepherd wraps himself in his garment, and he will depart from there unscathed.
13他必打碎埃及地的柱像，用火焚烧埃及神的庙宇。’”He will demolish the sacred pillars of the temple of the sun in the land of Egypt, and he will burn down the temples of the gods of Egypt.’”
