1在凯撒利亚有一个人，名叫，是“”的。At Caesarea there was a man named Cornelius, a centurion in what was called the Italian Regiment.
2他是个虔诚人，他和全家都 神，多多周济百姓，常常祷告 神。He and all his household were devout and God-fearing. He gave generously to the people and prayed to God regularly.
3有一天，约在，他在异象中明明看见 神的一个使者进去，到他那里，说：“哥尼流。”One day at about the ninth hour, he had a clear vision of an angel of God who came to him and said, “Cornelius!”
4哥尼流定睛看他，惊怕说：“主啊，什么事呢？”天使说：“你的祷告和你的周济达到 神面前，已蒙记念了。Cornelius stared at him in fear and asked, “What is it, Lord?” The angel answered, “Your prayers and gifts to the poor have ascended as a memorial offering before God.
5现在你当打发人往约帕去，请那称呼彼得的西门来。Now send men to Joppa to call for a man named Simon who is called Peter.
6他住在海边一个硝皮匠西门的家里，房子在海边上。”He is staying with Simon the tanner, whose house is by the sea.”
7向他说话的天使去后，哥尼流叫了两个家人和常伺候他的一个虔诚兵来，When the angel who spoke to him had gone, Cornelius called two of his servants and a devout soldier from among his attendants.
8把这事都述说给他们听，就打发他们往约帕去。He explained what had happened and sent them to Joppa.
9第二天，他们行路将近那城。彼得约在，上去祷告，The next day at about the sixth hour, as the men were approaching the city on their journey, Peter went up on the roof to pray.
10觉得饿了，想要吃。那家的人正预备饭的时候，彼得，He became hungry and wanted something to eat, but while the meal was being prepared, he fell into a trance.
11看见天开了，有一物降下，好像一块大布，，缒在地上，He saw heaven open and something like a large sheet being let down to earth by its four corners.
12里面有地上各样四足的走兽和，并天上的飞鸟；It contained all kinds of four-footed animals and reptiles of the earth, as well as birds of the air.
13又有声音向他说：“彼得，起来，宰了吃！”Then a voice said to him: “Get up, Peter, kill and eat!”
14彼得却说：“主啊，这是不可的！凡和不洁净的物，我从来没有吃过。”“No, Lord!” Peter answered. “I have never eaten anything impure or unclean.”
15第二次有声音向他说：“ 神所洁净的，你不可当作俗物。”The voice spoke to him a second time: “Do not call anything impure that God has made clean.”
16这样一连三次，那物随即收回天上去了。This happened three times, and all at once the sheet was taken back up into heaven.
17彼得心里正在之间，不知所看见的异象是什么意思。哥尼流所差来的人已经访问到西门的家，站在门外，While Peter was puzzling over the meaning of the vision, the men sent by Cornelius found Simon’s house and approached the gate.
18喊着问：“有称呼彼得的西门住在这里没有？”They called out to ask if Simon called Peter was staying there.
19彼得还思想那异象的时候，圣灵向他说：“有三个人来找你。As Peter continued to reflect on the vision, the Spirit said to him, “Behold, three men are looking for you.
20起来，下去，和他们同往，不要，因为是我差他们来的。”So get up! Go downstairs and accompany them without hesitation, because I have sent them.”
21于是彼得下去见那些人，说：“我就是你们所找的人。你们来是为什么缘故？”So Peter went down to the men and said, “Here am I, the one you are looking for. Why have you come?”
22他们说：“百夫长哥尼流是个义人，敬畏 神，为犹太通国所称赞。他蒙一位圣天使指示，叫他请你到他家里去，听你的话。”“Cornelius the centurion has sent us,” they said. “He is a righteous and God-fearing man with a good reputation among the whole Jewish nation. A holy angel instructed him to request your presence in his home so he could hear a message from you.”
23彼得就请他们进去，住了一宿。次日，起身和他们同去，还有约帕的几个弟兄同着他去；So Peter invited them in as his guests. And the next day he got ready and went with them, accompanied by some of the brothers from Joppa.
24又次日，他们进入凯撒利亚，哥尼流已经请了他的亲属密友等候他们。The following day he arrived in Caesarea, where Cornelius was expecting them and had called together his relatives and close friends.
25彼得一进去，哥尼流就迎接他，在他脚前拜他。As Peter was about to enter, Cornelius met him and fell at his feet to worship him.
26彼得却拉他，说：“你起来，我也是人。”But Peter helped him up. “Stand up,” he said, “I am only a man myself.”
27彼得和他说着话进去，见有好些人在那里聚集，As Peter talked with him, he went inside and found many people gathered together.
28就对他们说：“你们知道，犹太人和别国的人亲近来往本是的，但 神已经指示我，无论什么人都不可看作俗而不洁净的。He said to them, “You know how unlawful it is for a Jew to associate with a foreigner or visit him. But God has shown me that I should not call any man impure or unclean.
29所以我被请的时候，就不而来。现在请问：你们叫我来有什么意思呢？”So when I was invited, I came without objection. I ask, then, why have you sent for me?”
30哥尼流说：“前四天，这个时候，我在家中守着申初的祷告，忽然有一个人穿着光明的衣裳，站在我面前，Cornelius answered: “Four days ago I was in my house praying at this, the ninth hour. Suddenly a man in radiant clothing stood before me
31说：‘哥尼流，你的祷告已蒙垂听，你的周济达到 神面前已蒙记念了。and said, ‘Cornelius, your prayer has been heard, and your gifts to the poor have been remembered before God.
32你当打发人往约帕去，请那称呼彼得的西门来，他住在海边一个硝皮匠西门的家里。’Therefore send to Joppa for Simon, who is called Peter. He is a guest in the home of Simon the tanner, by the sea.’
33所以我立时打发人去请你。你来了很好；现今我们都在 神面前，要听主所吩咐你的一切话。”So I sent for you immediately, and you were kind enough to come. Now then, we are all here in the presence of God to listen to everything the Lord has instructed you to tell us.”
34彼得就开口说：“我真看出 神是不。Then Peter began to speak: “I now truly understand that God does not show favoritism,
35原来，各国中那敬畏主、行义的人都为主所。but welcomes those from every nation who fear Him and do what is right.
36神借着耶稣基督（他是万有的主）传和平的福音，将这道赐给以色列人。He has sent this message to the people of Israel, proclaiming the gospel of peace through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all.
37这话在宣传洗礼以后，从起，传遍了犹太。You yourselves know what has happened throughout Judea, beginning in Galilee with the baptism that John proclaimed:
38神怎样以圣灵和能力人耶稣，这都是你们知道的。他周流四方，行善事，医好凡被魔鬼的人，因为 神与他同在。how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how Jesus went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, because God was with Him.
39他在犹太人之地，并耶路撒冷所行的一切事，有我们作见证。他们竟把他挂在木头上杀了。We are witnesses of all that He did, both in the land of the Jews and in Jerusalem. And although they put Him to death by hanging Him on a tree,
40第三日， 神叫他复活，显现出来；God raised Him up on the third day and caused Him to be seen—
41不是显现给众人看，乃是显现给 神预先所拣选为他作见证的人看，就是我们这些在他从死里复活以后和他同吃同喝的人。not by all the people, but by the witnesses God had chosen beforehand, by us who ate and drank with Him after He rose from the dead.
42他吩咐我们传道给众人，证明他是 神所立定的，要作审判活人、死人的主。And He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that He is the One appointed by God to judge the living and the dead.
43众先知也为他作见证说：‘凡信他的人必因他的名得蒙赦罪。’”All the prophets testify about Him that everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins through His name.”
44彼得还说这话的时候，圣灵降在一切听道的人身上。While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all who heard his message.
45那些、和彼得同来的信徒，见圣灵的恩赐也浇在外邦人身上，就都希奇；All the circumcised believers who had accompanied Peter were astounded that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out even on the Gentiles.
46因听见他们说，称赞 神为大。For they heard them speaking in tongues and exalting God. Then Peter said,
47于是彼得说：“这些人既受了圣灵，与我们一样，谁能禁止用水给他们施洗呢？”“Can anyone withhold the water to baptize these people? They have received the Holy Spirit just as we have!”
48就吩咐奉耶稣基督的名给他们施洗。他们又请彼得住了几天。So he ordered that they be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked him to stay for a few days.
