1约沙法与他列祖同睡，葬在大卫城他列祖的坟地里。他儿子约兰接续他作王。And Jehoshaphat rested with his fathers and was buried with them in the City of David. And his son Jehoram reigned in his place.
2约兰有几个兄弟，就是约沙法的儿子亚撒利雅、耶歇、撒迦利雅、亚撒利雅、米迦勒、示法提雅。这都是犹大王约沙法的儿子。Jehoram’s brothers, the sons of Jehoshaphat, were Azariah, Jehiel, Zechariah, Azariah, Michael, and Shephatiah; these were all sons of Jehoshaphat king of Israel.
3他们的父亲将许多金银、财宝，和犹大地的坚固城赐给他们；但将国赐给约兰，因为他是长子。Their father had given them many gifts of silver and gold and precious things, as well as the fortified cities in Judah; but he gave the kingdom to Jehoram because he was the firstborn.
4约兰兴起坐他父的位，，就用刀杀了他的众兄弟和以色列的几个首领。When Jehoram had established himself over his father’s kingdom, he strengthened himself by putting to the sword all his brothers along with some of the princes of Israel.
5约兰登基的时候年三十二岁，在耶路撒冷作王八年。Jehoram was thirty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem eight years.
6他行以色列诸王的道，与亚哈家一样；因他娶了为妻，行耶和华眼中看为恶的事。And Jehoram walked in the ways of the kings of Israel, just as the house of Ahab had done. For he married a daughter of Ahab and did evil in the sight of the LORD.
7耶和华却因自己与大卫所立的约，不肯灭大卫的家，照他所应许的，永远赐与大卫和他的子孙。Yet the LORD was unwilling to destroy the house of David, because of the covenant He had made with David, and since He had promised to maintain a lamp for David and his descendants forever.
8约兰年间，人背叛犹大，脱离他的权下，自己立王。In the days of Jehoram, Edom rebelled against the hand of Judah and appointed their own king.
9约兰就率领军长和所有的战车，夜间起来，攻击围困他的以东人和车兵长。So Jehoram crossed into Edom with his officers and all his chariots. When the Edomites surrounded him and his chariot commanders, he rose up and attacked by night.
10这样，以东人背叛犹大，脱离他的权下，直到今日。那时，人也背叛了，因为约兰离弃耶和华—他列祖的 神。So to this day Edom has been in rebellion against the hand of Judah. Likewise, Libnah rebelled against his hand at the same time, because Jehoram had forsaken the LORD, the God of his fathers.
11他又在犹大诸山建筑邱坛，使耶路撒冷的居民，诱惑犹大人。Jehoram had also built high places on the hills of Judah; he had caused the people of Jerusalem to prostitute themselves and had led Judah astray.
12先知达信与约兰说：“耶和华—你祖大卫的 神如此说：‘因为你不行你父约沙法和犹大王亚撒的道，Then a letter came to Jehoram from Elijah the prophet, which stated: “This is what the LORD, the God of your father David, says: ‘You have not walked in the ways of your father Jehoshaphat or of Asa king of Judah,
13乃行以色列诸王的道，使犹大人和耶路撒冷的居民行邪淫，像亚哈家一样，又杀了你父家比你好的诸兄弟。but you have walked in the ways of the kings of Israel and have caused Judah and the people of Jerusalem to prostitute themselves, just as the house of Ahab prostituted itself. You have also killed your brothers, your father’s family, who were better than you.
14故此，耶和华降大灾与你的百姓和你的妻子、儿女，并你一切所有的。So behold, the LORD is about to strike your people, your sons, your wives, and all your possessions with a serious blow.
15你的必患病，日加沉重，以致你的肠子坠落下来。’”And day after day you yourself will suffer from a severe illness, a disease of your bowels, until it causes your bowels to come out.’”
16以后，耶和华非利士人和靠近古实的阿拉伯人来攻击约兰。Then the LORD stirred against Jehoram the spirit of the Philistines and Arabs who lived near the Cushites.
17他们上来攻击犹大，侵入境内，掳掠了王宫里所有的财货和他的妻子、儿女，除了他小儿子约哈斯（又名亚哈谢）之外，没有留下一个儿子。So they went to war against Judah, invaded it, and carried off all the possessions found in the king’s palace, along with his sons and wives; not a son was left to him except Jehoahaz, his youngest.
18这些事以后，耶和华使约兰的肠子患不能医治的病。After all this, the LORD afflicted Jehoram with an incurable disease of the bowels.
19他患此病，过了二年，肠子坠落下来，病重而死。他的民没有为他烧什么物件，像从前为他列祖所烧的一样。This continued day after day until two full years had passed. Finally, his intestines came out because of his disease, and he died in severe pain. And his people did not make a fire in his honor as they had done for his fathers.
20约兰登基的时候年三十二岁，在耶路撒冷作王八年。他去世，众人葬他在大卫城，只是不在列王的坟墓里。Jehoram was thirty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem eight years. He died, to no one’s regret, and was buried in the City of David, but not in the tombs of the kings.
