2我们为你们众人常常感谢 神，祷告的时候提到你们，We always thank God for all of you, remembering you in our prayers
3在 神—我们的父面前，不住地记念你们因信心所做的，因爱心所受的劳苦，因盼望我们主耶稣基督所存的。and continually recalling before our God and Father your work of faith, your labor of love, and your enduring hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.
4被 神所爱的弟兄啊，我知道你们是蒙拣选的；Brothers who are beloved by God, we know that He has chosen you,
5因为我们的福音传到你们那里，不独在乎言语，也在乎和圣灵，并充足的信心。正如你们知道，我们在你们那里，为你们的缘故是怎样为人。because our gospel came to you not only in word, but also in power, in the Holy Spirit, and with great conviction—just as you know we lived among you for your sake.
6并且你们在之中，蒙了圣灵所赐的喜乐，领受真道就我们，也效法了主；And you became imitators of us and of the Lord when you welcomed the message with the joy of the Holy Spirit, in spite of your great suffering.
7甚至你们作了和亚该亚所有信主之人的榜样。As a result, you have become an example to all the believers in Macedonia and Achaia.
8因为主的道从你们那里已经出来。你们向 神的信心不但在马其顿和亚该亚，就是在各处也都传开了，所以不用我们说什么话。For not only did the message of the Lord ring out from you to Macedonia and Achaia, but your faith in God has gone out to every place, so that we have no need to say anything more.
9因为他们自己已经我们是怎样进到你们那里，你们是怎样离弃，归向 神，要服事那又真又活的 神，For they themselves report what kind of welcome you gave us, and how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God
10等候他儿子从天降临，就是他从死里复活的—那位救我们脱离的耶稣。and to await His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead—Jesus our deliverer from the coming wrath.
