1犹大的儿子是法勒斯、希斯仑、迦米、户珥、朔巴。The descendants of Judah: Perez, Hezron, Carmi, Hur, and Shobal.
2朔巴的儿子利亚雅生雅哈；雅哈生亚户买和拉哈。这是琐拉人的诸族。Reaiah son of Shobal was the father of Jahath, and Jahath was the father of Ahumai and Lahad. These were the clans of the Zorathites.

6拿拉给亚施户生亚户撒、希弗、提米尼、哈辖斯他利。这都是拿拉的儿子。Naarah bore to him Ahuzzam, Hepher, Temeni, and Haahashtari. These were the descendants of Naarah.
7希拉的儿子是洗列、琐辖、伊提南。The sons of Helah were Zereth, Zohar, Ethnan,
8哥斯生亚诺、琐比巴，并哈仑儿子亚哈黑的诸族。and Koz, who was the father of Anub and Zobebah and of the clans of Aharhel son of Harum.
9比他众弟兄更尊贵，他母亲给他起名叫雅比斯，意思说：我生他甚是痛苦。Now Jabez was more honorable than his brothers. His mother had named him Jabez, saying, “Because I bore him in pain.”
10雅比斯求告以色列的 神说：“甚愿你赐福与我，，常与我同在，保佑我不遭患难，不受艰苦。” 神就应允他所求的。And Jabez called out to the God of Israel, “If only You would bless me and enlarge my territory! May Your hand be with me and keep me from harm, so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted the request of Jabez.
11书哈的弟兄基绿生米黑，米黑是伊施屯之祖。Chelub the brother of Shuhah was the father of Mehir, who was the father of Eshton.
12伊施屯生伯拉巴、巴西亚，并珥拿辖之祖提欣拿，这都是利迦人。Eshton was the father of Beth-rapha, of Paseah, and of Tehinnah the father of Ir-nahash. These were the men of Recah.
13基纳斯的儿子是俄陀聂、西莱雅。俄陀聂的儿子是哈塔。The sons of Kenaz: Othniel and Seraiah. The sons of Othniel: Hathath and Meonothai.
14悯挪太生俄弗拉；西莱雅生革·夏纳欣人之祖约押。他们都是。Meonothai was the father of Ophrah, and Seraiah was the father of Joab, the father of those living in Ge-harashim, which was given this name because its people were craftsmen.
15耶孚尼的儿子是迦勒；迦勒的儿子是以路、以拉、拿安。以拉的儿子是基纳斯。The sons of Caleb son of Jephunneh: Iru, Elah, and Naam. The son of Elah: Kenaz.
16耶哈利勒的儿子是西弗、西法、提利、亚撒列。The sons of Jehallelel: Ziph, Ziphah, Tiria, and Asarel.
17–18以斯拉的儿子是益帖、米列、以弗、雅伦。米列娶法老女儿比提雅为妻，生米利暗、沙买，和以实提摩之祖益巴。米列又娶犹大女子为妻，生基多之祖雅列，梭哥之祖希伯，和撒挪亚之祖耶古铁。The sons of Ezrah: Jether, Mered, Epher, and Jalon. And Mered’s wife Bithiah gave birth to Miriam, Shammai, and Ishbah the father of Eshtemoa. These were the children of Pharaoh’s daughter Bithiah. Mered also took a Judean wife, who gave birth to Jered the father of Gedor, Heber the father of Soco, and Jekuthiel the father of Zanoah.
19荷第雅的妻是拿含的妹子，她所生的儿子是迦米人基伊拉和玛迦人以实提摩之祖。The sons of Hodiah’s wife, the sister of Naham, were the fathers of Keilah the Garmite and of Eshtemoa the Maacathite.
20示门的儿子是暗嫩、林拿、便·哈南、提伦。以示的儿子是梭黑与便·梭黑。The sons of Shimon: Amnon, Rinnah, Ben-hanan, and Tilon. The descendants of Ishi: Zoheth and Ben-zoheth.
21犹大的儿子是示拉；示拉的儿子是利迦之祖珥，玛利沙之祖拉大，和属亚实比族织的各家。The sons of Shelah son of Judah: Er the father of Lecah, Laadah the father of Mareshah and the clans of the linen workers at Beth-ashbea,
22还有约敬、哥西巴人、约阿施、萨拉，就是在摩押地掌权的，又有雅叔比利恒。这都是古时所记载的。Jokim, the men of Cozeba, and Joash and Saraph, who ruled in Moab and Jashubi-lehem. (These names are from ancient records.)
23这些人都是，是尼他应和基低拉的居民；与王同处，为王做工。These were the potters who lived at Netaim and Gederah. They lived there in the service of the king.
24的儿子是尼母利、雅悯、雅立、谢拉、扫罗。The descendants of Simeon: Nemuel, Jamin, Jarib, Zerah, and Shaul.
25扫罗的儿子是沙龙；沙龙的儿子是米比衫；米比衫的儿子是米施玛；The sons of Shaul: Shallum, Mibsam, and Mishma.
26米施玛的儿子是哈母利；哈母利的儿子是撒刻；撒刻的儿子是示每。The sons of Mishma: Hammuel, Zaccur, and Shimei.
27示每有十六个儿子，六个女儿，他弟兄的儿女不多，他们各家不如犹大族的人丁增多。Shimei had sixteen sons and six daughters, but his brothers did not have many children, so their whole clan did not become as numerous as the sons of Judah.
28西缅人住在别是巴、摩拉大、哈萨·书亚、They lived in Beersheba, Moladah, Hazar-shual,
29辟拉、以森、陀腊、Bilhah, Ezem, Tolad,
30彼土利、何珥玛、洗革拉、Bethuel, Hormah, Ziklag,
31伯·玛嘉博、哈萨·苏撒、伯·比利、沙拉音，这些城邑直到大卫作王的时候都是属西缅人的。Beth-marcaboth, Hazar-susim, Beth-biri, and Shaaraim. These were their cities until the reign of David.

38以上所记的人名都是作族长的，他们宗族的人数增多。These men listed by name were the leaders of their clans. Their families increased greatly,
39他们往平原东边基多口去，寻找牧放羊群的草场，and they journeyed to the entrance of Gedor, to the east side of the valley, in search of pasture for their flocks.
40寻得肥美的草场地，又又平静。从前住那里的是含族的人。There they found rich, good pasture, and the land was spacious, peaceful, and quiet; for some Hamites had lived there formerly.
41以上录名的人，在犹大王希西家年间，来攻击含族人的帐棚和那里所有的，将他们灭尽，就住在他们的地方，直到今日，因为那里有草场可以牧放羊群。These who were noted by name came in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah. They attacked the Hamites in their dwellings as well as the Meunites who were there, devoting them to destruction even to this day. Then they settled in their place, because there was pasture for their flocks.
42这西缅人中，有五百人上西珥山，率领他们的是以示的儿子毗拉提、尼利雅、利法雅，和乌薛，And five hundred of these Simeonites led by Pelatiah, Neariah, Rephaiah, and Uzziel, the sons of Ishi, went to Mount Seir
43杀了逃脱剩下的，就住在那里直到今日。and struck down the remnant of the Amalekites who had escaped. And they have lived there to this day.
