1大卫说：“这就是耶和华 神的殿，为以色列人献燔祭的坛。”Then David said, “Here shall be the house of the LORD God, as well as the altar of burnt offering for Israel.”
2大卫吩咐聚集住以色列地的，从其中派石匠凿石头，要建造 神的殿。So David gave orders to gather the foreigners in the land of Israel, from whom he appointed stonecutters to prepare finished stones for building the house of God.
3大卫预备许多铁做门上的钉子和钩子，又预备许多铜，；David provided a large quantity of iron to make the nails for the doors of the gateways and for the fittings, together with more bronze than could be weighed
4又预备无数的香柏木，因为西顿人和泰尔人给大卫运了许多香柏木来。and more cedar logs than could be counted; for the Sidonians and Tyrians had brought a large quantity of cedar logs to David.
5大卫说：“我儿子所罗门还年幼，要为耶和华建造的殿宇必须高大辉煌，使名誉荣耀传遍万国；所以我要为殿预备材料。”于是，大卫在未死之先预备的材料甚多。And David said, “My son Solomon is young and inexperienced, and the house to be built for the LORD must be exceedingly magnificent—famous and glorious throughout all lands. Therefore I must make preparations for it.” So David made lavish preparations before his death.
6大卫召了他儿子所罗门来，嘱咐他给耶和华—以色列的 神建造殿宇，Then David called for his son Solomon and instructed him to build a house for the LORD, the God of Israel.
7对所罗门说：“我儿啊，我心里本想为耶和华—我 神的名建造殿宇，“My son,” said David to Solomon, “it was in my heart to build a house for the Name of the LORD my God,
8只是耶和华的话临到我说：‘你流了多人的血，打了多次大仗，你不可为我的名建造殿宇，因为你在我眼前使多人的血流在地上。but this word of the LORD came to me: ‘You have shed much blood and waged great wars. You are not to build a house for My Name because you have shed so much blood on the ground before Me.
9你要生一个儿子，他必作太平的人；我必使他安静，不被四围的仇敌扰乱。他的名要叫（就是太平的意思）。他在位的日子，我必使以色列人平安康泰。But a son will be born to you who will be a man of rest. I will give him rest from all his enemies on every side; for his name will be Solomon, and I will grant to Israel peace and quiet during his reign.
10他必为我的名建造殿宇。他要作我的子；我要作他的父。他作以色列王；我必坚定他的国位，直到永远。’He is the one who will build a house for My Name. He will be My son, and I will be his Father. And I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel forever.’
11我儿啊，现今愿耶和华与你同在，使你亨通，照他指着你说的话，建造耶和华—你 神的殿。Now, my son, may the LORD be with you, and may you succeed in building the house of the LORD your God, as He said you would.
12但愿耶和华赐你聪明智慧，好治理以色列国，遵行耶和华—你 神的律法。Above all, may the LORD give you insight and understanding when He puts you in command over Israel, so that you may keep the Law of the LORD your God.
13你若谨守遵行耶和华借摩西吩咐以色列的律例典章，就得亨通。你当，不要惧怕，也不要惊惶。Then you will succeed, if you carefully follow the statutes and ordinances that the LORD commanded Moses for Israel. Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged.
14我为耶和华的殿预备了金子十万，银子一百万他连得，铜和铁多得无法可称；我也预备了木头、石头，你还可以增添。Now behold, I have taken great pains to provide for the house of the LORD—100,000 talents of gold, 1,000,000 talents of silver, and bronze and iron too great to be weighed. I have also provided timber and stone, and you may add to them.
15你有许多匠人，就是石匠、木匠，和一切能做各样工的巧匠，You also have many workers: stonecutters, masons, carpenters, and men skilled in every kind of work—
16并有无数的金银铜铁。你当起来办事，愿耶和华与你同在。”in gold and silver, bronze and iron—craftsmen beyond number. Now begin the work, and may the LORD be with you.”
17大卫又吩咐以色列的众首领帮助他儿子所罗门，说：Then David ordered all the leaders of Israel to help his son Solomon:
18“耶和华—你们的 神不是与你们同在吗？不是叫你们四围都平安吗？因他已将这地的居民交在我手中，这地就在耶和华与他百姓面前制伏了。“Is not the LORD your God with you, and has He not granted you rest on every side? For He has given the inhabitants of the land into my hand, and the land has been subdued before the LORD and His people.
19现在你们应当，寻求耶和华—你们的 神；也当起来建造耶和华 神的圣所，好将耶和华的约柜和供奉 神的圣器皿都搬进为耶和华名建造的殿里。Now set your heart and soul to seek the LORD your God. Begin building the sanctuary of the LORD God, so that you may bring the ark of the covenant of the LORD and the holy articles of God into the temple that will be built for the Name of the LORD.”
