1此后，大卫攻打非利士人，把他们治服，从他们手下夺取了迦特和属迦特的村庄；Some time later, David defeated the Philistines, subdued them, and took Gath and its villages from the hand of the Philistines.
2又攻打摩押，摩押人就归服大卫，给他。David also defeated the Moabites, and they became subject to David and brought him tribute.
3王哈大利谢（在撒母耳下八章三节是哈大底谢）往幼发拉底河去，要坚定自己的国权，大卫就攻打他，直到哈马，As far as Hamath, David also defeated King Hadadezer of Zobah, who had marched out to establish his dominion along the Euphrates River.
4夺了他的战车一千，马兵七千，步兵二万，将拉战车的马，但留下一百辆车的马。David captured from him a thousand chariots, seven thousand charioteers, and twenty thousand foot soldiers, and he hamstrung all the horses except a hundred he kept for the chariots.
5大马士革的亚兰人来帮助琐巴王哈大利谢，大卫就杀了亚兰人二万二千。When the Arameans of Damascus came to help King Hadadezer of Zobah, David struck down twenty-two thousand of their men.
6于是大卫在大马士革的亚兰地设立防营，亚兰人就归服他，给他进贡。大卫无论往哪里去，耶和华都使他得胜。Then he placed garrisons in Aram of Damascus, and the Arameans became subject to David and brought him tribute. So the LORD made David victorious wherever he went.
7他夺了哈大利谢臣仆所拿的金盾牌带到耶路撒冷。And David took the gold shields that belonged to the officers of Hadadezer and brought them to Jerusalem.
8大卫又从属哈大利谢的提巴（或译：比他）和均二城中夺取了许多的铜。后来所罗门用此制造铜海、铜柱，和一切的铜器。And from Tibhath and Cun, cities of Hadadezer, David took a large amount of bronze, with which Solomon made the bronze Sea, the pillars, and various bronze articles.
9哈马王陀乌听见大卫杀败琐巴王哈大利谢的全军，When King Tou of Hamath heard that David had defeated the entire army of Hadadezer king of Zobah,
10就打发他儿子哈多兰去见大卫王，问他的安，为他祝福，因为他杀败了哈大利谢〈原来陀乌与哈大利谢常常争战〉。哈多兰带了金银铜的各样器皿来。he sent his son Hadoram to greet King David and bless him for fighting and defeating Hadadezer, who had been at war with Tou. Hadoram brought all kinds of articles of gold and silver and bronze,
11大卫王将这些器皿，并从各国夺来的金银，就是从以东、摩押、亚扪、非利士、亚玛力人所夺来的，都分别为圣献给耶和华。and King David dedicated these to the LORD, along with the silver and gold he had carried off from all these nations—from Edom and Moab, and from the Ammonites, Philistines, and Amalekites.
12洗鲁雅的儿子亚比筛在击杀了以东一万八千人。Moreover, Abishai son of Zeruiah struck down eighteen thousand Edomites in the Valley of Salt.
13大卫在以东地设立，以东人就都归服他。大卫无论往哪里去，耶和华都使他得胜。He placed garrisons in Edom, and all the Edomites were subject to David. So the LORD made David victorious wherever he went.
14大卫作以色列众人的王，又向众民。Thus David reigned over all Israel and administered justice and righteousness for all his people:
15洗鲁雅的儿子约押作元帅；亚希律的儿子约沙法作；Joab son of Zeruiah was over the army; Jehoshaphat son of Ahilud was the recorder;
16亚希突的儿子撒督和亚比亚他的儿子亚希米勒作祭司长；沙威沙作书记；Zadok son of Ahitub and Ahimelech son of Abiathar were priests; Shavsha was the scribe;
17耶何耶大的儿子比拿雅统辖和比利提人。大卫的众子都在王的左右作领袖。Benaiah son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and Pelethites; and David’s sons were chief officials at the king’s side.
