耶和华的话临到哈该

¹大流士王第二年六月初一日，耶和华的话借先知哈该向犹大省长撒拉铁的儿子所罗巴伯和约撒答的儿子大祭司约书亚说：In the second year of the reign of Darius, on the first day of the sixth month, the word of the LORD came through Haggai the prophet to Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest, stating

百姓说建殿的时候未到

²万军之耶和华如此说：“这百姓说，建造耶和华殿的时候尚未来到。”that this is what the LORD of Hosts says: “These people say, ‘The time has not yet come to rebuild the house of the LORD.’”

³那时耶和华的话临到先知哈该说：Then the word of the LORD came through Haggai the prophet, saying:

⁴“这殿仍然荒凉，你们自己还住天花板的房屋吗？“Is it a time for you yourselves to live in your paneled houses, while this house lies in ruins?”

要省察自己的行为

⁵现在万军之耶和华如此说：你们要省察自己的行为。Now this is what the LORD of Hosts says: “Consider carefully your ways.

⁶你们撒的种多，收的却少；你们吃，却不得饱；喝，却不得足；穿衣服，却不得暖；得工钱的，将工钱装在破漏的囊中。”You have planted much but harvested little. You eat but never have enough. You drink but never have your fill. You put on clothes but never get warm. You earn wages to put into a bag pierced through.”

⁷万军之耶和华如此说：“你们要省察自己的行为。This is what the LORD of Hosts says: “Consider carefully your ways.

⁸你们要上山取木料，建造这殿，我就因此喜乐，且得荣耀。这是耶和华说的。Go up into the hills, bring down lumber, and build the house, so that I may take pleasure in it and be glorified, says the LORD.

⁹你们盼望多得，所得的却少；你们收到家中，我就吹去。这是为什么呢？因为我的殿荒凉，你们各人却顾（原文是奔）自己的房屋。这是万军之耶和华说的。You expected much, but behold, it amounted to little. And what you brought home, I blew away. Why? declares the LORD of Hosts. Because My house still lies in ruins, while each of you is busy with his own house.

¹⁰所以为你们的缘故，天就不降甘露，地也不出土产。Therefore, on account of you the heavens have withheld their dew and the earth has withheld its crops.

¹¹我命干旱临到地土、山冈、五谷、新酒，和油，并地上的出产、人民、牲畜，以及人手一切劳碌得来的。”I have summoned a drought on the fields and on the mountains, on the grain, new wine, and oil, and on whatever the ground yields, on man and beast, and on all the labor of your hands.”

百姓听从，动工建殿

¹²那时，撒拉铁的儿子所罗巴伯和约撒答的儿子大祭司约书亚，并剩下的百姓，都听从耶和华—他们　神的话和先知哈该奉耶和华—他们　神差来所说的话；百姓也在耶和华面前存敬畏的心。Then Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel and Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest, as well as all the remnant of the people, obeyed the voice of the LORD their God and the words of the prophet Haggai, because the LORD their God had sent him. So the people feared the LORD.

¹³耶和华的使者哈该奉耶和华差遣对百姓说：“耶和华说：我与你们同在。”Haggai, the messenger of the LORD, delivered the message of the LORD to the people: “I am with you,” declares the LORD.

¹⁴耶和华激动犹大省长撒拉铁的儿子所罗巴伯和约撒答的儿子大祭司约书亚，并剩下之百姓的心，他们就来为万军之耶和华—他们　神的殿做工。So the LORD stirred the spirit of Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest, as well as the spirit of all the remnant of the people. And they came and began the work on the house of the LORD of Hosts, their God,

¹⁵这是在大流士王第二年六月二十四日。on the twenty-fourth day of the sixth month, in the second year of King Darius.

谁见过这殿从前的荣耀

¹七月二十一日，耶和华的话临到先知哈该说：On the twenty-first day of the seventh month, the word of the LORD came through Haggai the prophet, saying:

²“你要晓谕犹大省长撒拉铁的儿子所罗巴伯和约撒答的儿子大祭司约书亚，并剩下的百姓，说：“Speak to Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and also to the remnant of the people. Ask them,

³你们中间存留的，有谁见过这殿从前的荣耀呢？现在你们看着如何？岂不在眼中看如无有吗？”‘Who is left among you who saw this house in its former glory? How does it look to you now? Does it not appear to you like nothing in comparison?’

你们当刚强做工

⁴耶和华说：“所罗巴伯啊，虽然如此，你当刚强！约撒答的儿子大祭司约书亚啊，你也当刚强！这地的百姓，你们都当刚强做工，因为我与你们同在。这是万军之耶和华说的。But now be strong, O Zerubbabel, declares the LORD. Be strong, O Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest. And be strong, all you people of the land, declares the LORD. Work! For I am with you, declares the LORD of Hosts.

⁵这是照着你们出埃及我与你们立约的话。那时，我的灵住在你们中间，你们不要惧怕。”This is the promise I made to you when you came out of Egypt. And My Spirit remains among you; do not be afraid.”

这殿后来的荣耀必大过先前

⁶万军之耶和华如此说：“过不多时，我必再一次震动天地、沧海，与旱地。For this is what the LORD of Hosts says: “Once more, in a little while, I will shake the heavens and the earth, the sea and the dry land.

⁷我必震动万国；万国的珍宝必都运来（或译：万国所羡慕的必来到），我就使这殿满了荣耀。这是万军之耶和华说的。”I will shake all the nations, and they will come with all their treasures, and I will fill this house with glory, says the LORD of Hosts.

⁸万军之耶和华说：“银子是我的，金子也是我的。The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine, declares the LORD of Hosts.

⁹这殿后来的荣耀必大过先前的荣耀；在这地方我必赐平安。这是万军之耶和华说的。”The latter glory of this house will be greater than the former, says the LORD of Hosts. And in this place I will provide peace, declares the LORD of Hosts.”

向祭司问洁净与污秽

¹⁰大流士王第二年九月二十四日，耶和华的话临到先知哈该说：On the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, in the second year of Darius, the word of the LORD came to Haggai the prophet, saying,

¹¹万军之耶和华如此说：“你要向祭司问律法，“This is what the LORD of Hosts says: ‘Ask the priests for a ruling.

¹²说：若有人用衣襟兜圣肉，这衣襟挨着饼，或汤，或酒，或油，或别的食物，便算为圣吗？”祭司说：“不算为圣。”If a man carries consecrated meat in the fold of his garment, and it touches bread, stew, wine, oil, or any other food, does that item become holy?’” “No,” replied the priests.

¹³哈该又说：“若有人因摸死尸染了污秽，然后挨着这些物的哪一样，这物算污秽吗？”祭司说：“必算污秽。”So Haggai asked, “If one who is defiled by contact with a corpse touches any of these, does it become defiled?” “Yes, it becomes defiled,” the priests answered.

¹⁴于是哈该说：“耶和华说：这民这国，在我面前也是如此；他们手下的各样工作都是如此；他们在坛上所献的也是如此。”Then Haggai replied, “So it is with this people and this nation before Me, declares the LORD, and so it is with every work of their hands; whatever they offer there is defiled.

从今日起我必赐福

¹⁵现在你们要追想，此日以前，耶和华的殿没有一块石头垒在石头上的光景。Now consider carefully from this day forward: Before one stone was placed on another in the temple of the LORD,

¹⁶在那一切日子，有人来到谷堆，想得二十斗，只得了十斗。有人来到酒池，想得五十桶，只得了二十桶。from that time, when one came expecting a heap of twenty ephahs of grain, there were but ten. When one came to the winepress to draw out fifty baths, there were but twenty.

¹⁷在你们手下的各样工作上，我以旱风、霉烂、冰雹攻击你们，你们仍不归向我。这是耶和华说的。I struck you—all the work of your hands—with blight, mildew, and hail, but you did not turn to Me, declares the LORD.

¹⁸你们要追想此日以前，就是从这九月二十四日起，追想到立耶和华殿根基的日子。Consider carefully from this day forward—from the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, the day the foundation of the LORD’s temple was laid—consider carefully:

¹⁹仓里有谷种吗？葡萄树、无花果树、石榴树、橄榄树都没有结果子。从今日起，我必赐福与你们。Is there still seed in the barn? The vine, the fig, the pomegranate, and the olive tree have not yet yielded fruit. But from this day on, I will bless you.”

我必以所罗巴伯为印

²⁰这月二十四日，耶和华的话二次临到哈该说：For the second time that day, the twenty-fourth day of the month, the word of the LORD came to Haggai, saying,

²¹“你要告诉犹大省长所罗巴伯说：我必震动天地。“Tell Zerubbabel governor of Judah that I am about to shake the heavens and the earth:

²²我必倾覆列国的宝座，除灭列邦的势力，并倾覆战车和坐在其上的。马必跌倒，骑马的败落，各人被弟兄的刀所杀。I will overturn royal thrones and destroy the power of the kingdoms of the nations. I will overturn chariots and their riders; horses and their riders will fall, each by the sword of his brother.

²³万军之耶和华说：我仆人撒拉铁的儿子所罗巴伯啊，到那日，我必以你为印，因我拣选了你。这是万军之耶和华说的。”On that day, declares the LORD of Hosts, I will take you, My servant, Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, declares the LORD, and I will make you like My signet ring, for I have chosen you, declares the LORD of Hosts.”

巴比伦大城倾倒了

¹此后，我看见另有一位有大权柄的天使从天降下，地就因他的荣耀发光。After this I saw another angel descending from heaven with great authority, and the earth was illuminated by his glory.

²他大声喊着说：巴比伦大城倾倒了！倾倒了！成了鬼魔的住处和各样污秽之灵的巢穴（或译：牢狱；下同），并各样污秽可憎之雀鸟的巢穴。And he cried out in a mighty voice: “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great! She has become a lair for demons and a haunt for every unclean spirit, every unclean bird, and every detestable beast.

³因为列国都被她邪淫大怒的酒倾倒了。地上的君王与她行淫；地上的客商因她奢华太过就发了财。All the nations have drunk the wine of the passion of her immorality. The kings of the earth were immoral with her, and the merchants of the earth have grown wealthy from the extravagance of her luxury.”

我的民哪，要从那城出来

⁴我又听见从天上有声音说：我的民哪，你们要从那城出来，免得与她一同有罪，受她所受的灾殃；Then I heard another voice from heaven say: “Come out of her, My people, so that you will not share in her sins or contract any of her plagues.

⁵因她的罪恶滔天；她的不义，　神已经想起来了。For her sins are piled up to heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities.

⁶她怎样待人，也要怎样待她，按她所行的加倍地报应她；用她调酒的杯加倍地调给她喝。Give back to her as she has done to others; pay her back double for what she has done; mix her a double portion in her own cup.

⁷她怎样荣耀自己，怎样奢华，也当叫她照样痛苦悲哀，因她心里说：我坐了皇后的位，并不是寡妇，决不至于悲哀。As much as she has glorified herself and lived in luxury, give her the same measure of torment and grief. In her heart she says, ‘I sit as queen; I am not a widow and will never see grief.’

⁸所以在一天之内，她的灾殃要一齐来到，就是死亡、悲哀、饥荒。她又要被火烧尽了，因为审判她的主　神大有能力。Therefore her plagues will come in one day—death and grief and famine—and she will be consumed by fire, for mighty is the Lord God who judges her.”

地上君王的哀哭

⁹地上的君王，素来与她行淫、一同奢华的，看见烧她的烟，就必为她哭泣哀号。Then the kings of the earth who committed sexual immorality and lived in luxury with her will weep and wail at the sight of the smoke rising from the fire that consumes her.

¹⁰因怕她的痛苦，就远远地站着说：哀哉！哀哉！巴比伦大城，坚固的城啊，一时之间你的刑罚就来到了。In fear of her torment, they will stand at a distance and cry out: “Woe, woe to the great city, the mighty city of Babylon! For in a single hour your judgment has come.”

客商的哀哭

¹¹地上的客商也都为她哭泣悲哀，因为没有人再买他们的货物了；And the merchants of the earth will weep and mourn over her, because there is no one left to buy their cargo—

¹²这货物就是金、银、宝石、珍珠、细麻布、紫色料、绸子、朱红色料、各样香木、各样象牙的器皿、各样极宝贵的木头，和铜、铁、汉白玉的器皿，cargo of gold, silver, precious stones, and pearls; of fine linen, purple, silk, and scarlet; of all kinds of citron wood and every article of ivory, precious wood, bronze, iron, and marble;

¹³并肉桂、豆蔻、香料、香膏、乳香、酒、油、细面、麦子、牛、羊、车、马，和奴仆、人口。of cinnamon, spice, incense, myrrh, and frankincense; of wine, olive oil, fine flour, and wheat; of cattle, sheep, horses, and carriages; of bodies and souls of slaves.

¹⁴巴比伦哪，你所贪爱的果子离开了你；你一切的珍馐美味和华美的物件也从你中间毁灭，决不能再见了。And they will say: “The fruit of your soul’s desire has departed from you; all your luxury and splendor have vanished, never to be seen again.”

¹⁵贩卖这些货物、借着她发了财的客商，因怕她的痛苦，就远远地站着哭泣悲哀，说：The merchants who sold these things and gained their wealth from her will stand at a distance, in fear of her torment. They will weep and mourn,

¹⁶哀哉！哀哉！这大城啊，素常穿着细麻、紫色、朱红色的衣服，又用金子、宝石，和珍珠为妆饰。saying: “Woe, woe to the great city, clothed in fine linen and purple and scarlet, adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls!

船主和水手远远站着

¹⁷一时之间，这么大的富厚就归于无有了。凡船主和坐船往各处去的，并众水手，连所有靠海为业的，都远远地站着，For in a single hour such fabulous wealth has been destroyed!” Every shipmaster, passenger, and sailor, and all who make their living from the sea, will stand at a distance

¹⁸看见烧她的烟，就喊着说：“有何城能比这大城呢？”and cry out at the sight of the smoke rising from the fire that consumes her. “What city was ever like this great city?” they will exclaim.

¹⁹他们又把尘土撒在头上，哭泣悲哀，喊着说：哀哉！哀哉！这大城啊。凡有船在海中的，都因她的珍宝成了富足！她在一时之间就成了荒场！Then they will throw dust on their heads as they weep and mourn and cry out: “Woe, woe to the great city, where all who had ships on the sea were enriched by her wealth! For in a single hour she has been destroyed.”

天哪，要因她欢喜

²⁰天哪，众圣徒、众使徒、众先知啊，你们都要因她欢喜，因为　神已经在她身上伸了你们的冤。Rejoice over her, O heaven, and you saints and apostles and prophets, because God has pronounced for you His judgment against her.

大磨石扔在海里

²¹有一位大力的天使举起一块石头，好像大磨石，扔在海里，说：巴比伦大城也必这样猛力地被扔下去，决不能再见了。Then a mighty angel picked up a stone the size of a great millstone and cast it into the sea, saying: “With such violence the great city of Babylon will be cast down, never to be seen again.

²²弹琴、作乐、吹笛、吹号的声音，在你中间决不能再听见；各行手艺人在你中间决不能再遇见；推磨的声音在你中间决不能再听见；And the sound of harpists and musicians, of flute players and trumpeters, will never ring out in you again. Nor will any craftsmen of any trade be found in you again, nor the sound of a millstone be heard in you again.

²³灯光在你中间决不能再照耀；新郎和新妇的声音，在你中间决不能再听见。你的客商原来是地上的尊贵人；万国也被你的邪术迷惑了。The light of a lamp will never shine in you again, and the voices of a bride and bridegroom will never call out in you again. For your merchants were the great ones of the earth, because all the nations were deceived by your sorcery.”

²⁴先知和圣徒，并地上一切被杀之人的血，都在这城里看见了。And there was found in her the blood of prophets and saints, and of all who had been slain on the earth.
