约兰接续作王

¹约沙法与他列祖同睡，葬在大卫城他列祖的坟地里。他儿子约兰接续他作王。And Jehoshaphat rested with his fathers and was buried with them in the City of David. And his son Jehoram reigned in his place.

约兰杀了众兄弟

²约兰有几个兄弟，就是约沙法的儿子亚撒利雅、耶歇、撒迦利雅、亚撒利雅、米迦勒、示法提雅。这都是犹大王约沙法的儿子。Jehoram’s brothers, the sons of Jehoshaphat, were Azariah, Jehiel, Zechariah, Azariah, Michael, and Shephatiah; these were all sons of Jehoshaphat king of Israel.

³他们的父亲将许多金银、财宝，和犹大地的坚固城赐给他们；但将国赐给约兰，因为他是长子。Their father had given them many gifts of silver and gold and precious things, as well as the fortified cities in Judah; but he gave the kingdom to Jehoram because he was the firstborn.

⁴约兰兴起坐他父的位，奋勇自强，就用刀杀了他的众兄弟和以色列的几个首领。When Jehoram had established himself over his father’s kingdom, he strengthened himself by putting to the sword all his brothers along with some of the princes of Israel.

约兰行亚哈家的道

⁵约兰登基的时候年三十二岁，在耶路撒冷作王八年。Jehoram was thirty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem eight years.

⁶他行以色列诸王的道，与亚哈家一样；因他娶了亚哈的女儿为妻，行耶和华眼中看为恶的事。And Jehoram walked in the ways of the kings of Israel, just as the house of Ahab had done. For he married a daughter of Ahab and did evil in the sight of the LORD.

⁷耶和华却因自己与大卫所立的约，不肯灭大卫的家，照他所应许的，永远赐灯光与大卫和他的子孙。Yet the LORD was unwilling to destroy the house of David, because of the covenant He had made with David, and since He had promised to maintain a lamp for David and his descendants forever.

以东、立拿背叛

⁸约兰年间，以东人背叛犹大，脱离他的权下，自己立王。In the days of Jehoram, Edom rebelled against the hand of Judah and appointed their own king.

⁹约兰就率领军长和所有的战车，夜间起来，攻击围困他的以东人和车兵长。So Jehoram crossed into Edom with his officers and all his chariots. When the Edomites surrounded him and his chariot commanders, he rose up and attacked by night.

¹⁰这样，以东人背叛犹大，脱离他的权下，直到今日。那时，立拿人也背叛了，因为约兰离弃耶和华—他列祖的　神。So to this day Edom has been in rebellion against the hand of Judah. Likewise, Libnah rebelled against his hand at the same time, because Jehoram had forsaken the LORD, the God of his fathers.

¹¹他又在犹大诸山建筑邱坛，使耶路撒冷的居民行邪淫，诱惑犹大人。Jehoram had also built high places on the hills of Judah; he had caused the people of Jerusalem to prostitute themselves and had led Judah astray.

先知以利亚的信

¹²先知以利亚达信与约兰说：“耶和华—你祖大卫的　神如此说：‘因为你不行你父约沙法和犹大王亚撒的道，Then a letter came to Jehoram from Elijah the prophet, which stated: “This is what the LORD, the God of your father David, says: ‘You have not walked in the ways of your father Jehoshaphat or of Asa king of Judah,

¹³乃行以色列诸王的道，使犹大人和耶路撒冷的居民行邪淫，像亚哈家一样，又杀了你父家比你好的诸兄弟。but you have walked in the ways of the kings of Israel and have caused Judah and the people of Jerusalem to prostitute themselves, just as the house of Ahab prostituted itself. You have also killed your brothers, your father’s family, who were better than you.

¹⁴故此，耶和华降大灾与你的百姓和你的妻子、儿女，并你一切所有的。So behold, the LORD is about to strike your people, your sons, your wives, and all your possessions with a serious blow.

¹⁵你的肠子必患病，日加沉重，以致你的肠子坠落下来。’”And day after day you yourself will suffer from a severe illness, a disease of your bowels, until it causes your bowels to come out.’”

外敌掳掠，约兰病死

¹⁶以后，耶和华激动非利士人和靠近古实的阿拉伯人来攻击约兰。Then the LORD stirred against Jehoram the spirit of the Philistines and Arabs who lived near the Cushites.

¹⁷他们上来攻击犹大，侵入境内，掳掠了王宫里所有的财货和他的妻子、儿女，除了他小儿子约哈斯（又名亚哈谢）之外，没有留下一个儿子。So they went to war against Judah, invaded it, and carried off all the possessions found in the king’s palace, along with his sons and wives; not a son was left to him except Jehoahaz, his youngest.

¹⁸这些事以后，耶和华使约兰的肠子患不能医治的病。After all this, the LORD afflicted Jehoram with an incurable disease of the bowels.

¹⁹他患此病缠绵日久，过了二年，肠子坠落下来，病重而死。他的民没有为他烧什么物件，像从前为他列祖所烧的一样。This continued day after day until two full years had passed. Finally, his intestines came out because of his disease, and he died in severe pain. And his people did not make a fire in his honor as they had done for his fathers.

²⁰约兰登基的时候年三十二岁，在耶路撒冷作王八年。他去世无人思慕，众人葬他在大卫城，只是不在列王的坟墓里。Jehoram was thirty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem eight years. He died, to no one’s regret, and was buried in the City of David, but not in the tombs of the kings.

亚哈谢作王

¹耶路撒冷的居民立约兰的小儿子亚哈谢接续他作王；因为跟随阿拉伯人来攻营的军兵曾杀了亚哈谢的众兄长。这样，犹大王约兰的儿子亚哈谢作了王。Then the people of Jerusalem made Ahaziah, the youngest son of Jehoram, king in his place, since the raiders who had come into the camp with the Arabs had killed all the older sons. So Ahaziah son of Jehoram became king of Judah.

²亚哈谢登基的时候年四十二岁（列王下八章二十六节是二十二岁），在耶路撒冷作王一年。他母亲名叫亚她利雅，是暗利的孙女。Ahaziah was twenty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem one year. His mother’s name was Athaliah, the granddaughter of Omri.

³亚哈谢也行亚哈家的道；因为他母亲给他主谋，使他行恶。Ahaziah also walked in the ways of the house of Ahab, for his mother was his counselor in wickedness.

⁴他行耶和华眼中看为恶的事，像亚哈家一样；因他父亲死后有亚哈家的人给他主谋，以致败坏。And he did evil in the sight of the LORD, as the house of Ahab had done, for to his destruction they were his counselors after the death of his father.

亚哈谢与以色列王约兰同行

⁵他听从亚哈家的计谋，同以色列王亚哈的儿子约兰往基列的拉末去，与亚兰王哈薛争战；亚兰人打伤了约兰。Ahaziah also followed their counsel and went with Joram son of Ahab king of Israel to fight against Hazael king of Aram at Ramoth-gilead. But the Arameans wounded Joram.

⁶约兰回到耶斯列，医治在拉末与亚兰王哈薛打仗所受的伤，犹大王约兰的儿子亚撒利雅（就是亚哈谢）因为亚哈的儿子约兰病了，就下到耶斯列看望他。So he returned to Jezreel to recover from the wounds they had inflicted on him at Ramah when he fought against Hazael king of Aram. Then Ahaziah son of Jehoram king of Judah went down to Jezreel to visit Joram son of Ahab, because Joram had been wounded.

亚哈谢被耶户所杀

⁷亚哈谢去见约兰就被害了，这是出乎　神；因为他到了，就同约兰出去攻击宁示的孙子耶户。这耶户是耶和华所膏、使他剪除亚哈家的。Ahaziah’s downfall came from God when he went to visit Joram. When Ahaziah arrived, he went out with Joram to meet Jehu son of Nimshi, whom the LORD had anointed to destroy the house of Ahab.

⁸耶户讨亚哈家罪的时候，遇见犹大的众首领和亚哈谢的众侄子服事亚哈谢，就把他们都杀了。So while Jehu was executing judgment on the house of Ahab, he found the rulers of Judah and the sons of Ahaziah’s brothers who were serving Ahaziah, and he killed them.

⁹亚哈谢藏在撒马利亚，耶户寻找他，众人将他拿住，送到耶户那里，就杀了他，将他葬埋；因他们说，他是那尽心寻求耶和华之约沙法的儿子。这样，亚哈谢的家无力保守国权。Then Jehu looked for Ahaziah, and Jehu’s soldiers captured him while he was hiding in Samaria. So Ahaziah was brought to Jehu and put to death. They buried him, for they said, “He is the grandson of Jehoshaphat, who sought the LORD with all his heart.” So no one was left from the house of Ahaziah with the strength to rule the kingdom.

扫罗要往大马士革捉人

¹扫罗仍然向主的门徒口吐威吓凶煞的话，去见大祭司，Meanwhile, Saul was still breathing out murderous threats against the disciples of the Lord. He approached the high priest

²求文书给大马士革的各会堂，若是找着信奉这道的人，无论男女，都准他捆绑带到耶路撒冷。and requested letters to the synagogues in Damascus, so that if he found any men or women belonging to the Way, he could bring them as prisoners to Jerusalem.

天上的光照倒扫罗

³扫罗行路，将到大马士革，忽然从天上发光，四面照着他；As Saul drew near to Damascus on his journey, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him.

⁴他就仆倒在地，听见有声音对他说：“扫罗！扫罗！你为什么逼迫我？”He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute Me?”

⁵他说：“主啊！你是谁？”主说：“我就是你所逼迫的耶稣。“Who are You, Lord?” Saul asked. “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,” He replied.

⁶起来！进城去，你所当做的事，必有人告诉你。”“Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”

⁷同行的人站在那里，说不出话来，听见声音，却看不见人。The men traveling with Saul stood there speechless. They heard the voice but did not see anyone.

⁸扫罗从地上起来，睁开眼睛，竟不能看见什么。有人拉他的手，领他进了大马士革；Saul got up from the ground, but when he opened his eyes he could not see a thing. So they led him by the hand into Damascus.

⁹三日不能看见，也不吃也不喝。For three days he was without sight, and he did not eat or drink anything.

主差亚拿尼亚

¹⁰当下，在大马士革有一个门徒，名叫亚拿尼亚。主在异象中对他说：“亚拿尼亚。”他说：“主，我在这里。”In Damascus there was a disciple named Ananias. The Lord spoke to him in a vision, “Ananias!” “Here I am, Lord,” he answered.

¹¹主对他说：“起来！往直街去，在犹大的家里，访问一个大数人，名叫扫罗。他正祷告，“Get up!” the Lord told him. “Go to the house of Judas on Straight Street and ask for a man from Tarsus named Saul, for he is praying.

¹²又看见了一个人，名叫亚拿尼亚，进来按手在他身上，叫他能看见。”In a vision he has seen a man named Ananias come and place his hands on him to restore his sight.”

¹³亚拿尼亚回答说：“主啊，我听见许多人说：这人怎样在耶路撒冷多多苦害你的圣徒，But Ananias answered, “Lord, many people have told me about this man and all the harm he has done to Your saints in Jerusalem.

¹⁴并且他在这里有从祭司长得来的权柄捆绑一切求告你名的人。”And now he is here with authority from the chief priests to arrest all who call on Your name.”

¹⁵主对亚拿尼亚说：“你只管去！他是我所拣选的器皿，要在外邦人和君王，并以色列人面前宣扬我的名。“Go!” said the Lord. “This man is My chosen instrument to carry My name before the Gentiles and their kings, and before the people of Israel.

¹⁶我也要指示他，为我的名必须受许多的苦难。”I will show him how much he must suffer for My name.”

扫罗能看见并受洗

¹⁷亚拿尼亚就去了，进入那家，把手按在扫罗身上，说：“兄弟扫罗，在你来的路上向你显现的主，就是耶稣，打发我来，叫你能看见，又被圣灵充满。”So Ananias went to the house, and when he arrived, he placed his hands on Saul. “Brother Saul,” he said, “the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you were coming here, has sent me so that you may see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”

¹⁸扫罗的眼睛上，好像有鳞立刻掉下来，他就能看见。于是起来受了洗；At that instant, something like scales fell from Saul’s eyes, and his sight was restored. He got up and was baptized,

在大马士革宣传耶稣

¹⁹吃过饭就健壮了。扫罗和大马士革的门徒同住了些日子，and after taking some food, he regained his strength. And he spent several days with the disciples in Damascus.

²⁰就在各会堂里宣传耶稣，说他是　神的儿子。Saul promptly began to proclaim Jesus in the synagogues, declaring, “He is the Son of God.”

²¹凡听见的人都惊奇，说：“在耶路撒冷残害求告这名的，不是这人吗？并且他到这里来，特要捆绑他们，带到祭司长那里。”All who heard him were astounded and asked, “Isn’t this the man who wreaked havoc in Jerusalem on those who call on this name? And hasn’t he come here to take them as prisoners to the chief priests?”

²²但扫罗越发有能力，驳倒住大马士革的犹太人，证明耶稣是基督。But Saul was empowered all the more, and he confounded the Jews living in Damascus by proving that Jesus is the Christ.

从城墙上缒下逃走

²³过了好些日子，犹太人商议要杀扫罗，After many days had passed, the Jews conspired to kill him,

²⁴但他们的计谋被扫罗知道了。他们又昼夜在城门守候，要杀他。but Saul learned of their plot. Day and night they watched the city gates in order to kill him.

²⁵他的门徒就在夜间用筐子把他从城墙上缒下去。One night, however, his disciples took him and lowered him in a basket through a window in the wall.

巴拿巴接待扫罗

²⁶扫罗到了耶路撒冷，想与门徒结交，他们却都怕他，不信他是门徒。When Saul arrived in Jerusalem, he tried to join the disciples, but they were all afraid of him, not believing that he was a disciple.

²⁷惟有巴拿巴接待他，领去见使徒，把他在路上怎么看见主，主怎么向他说话，他在大马士革怎么奉耶稣的名放胆传道，都述说出来。Then Barnabas brought him to the apostles and described how Saul had seen the Lord, who had spoken to him on the road to Damascus, and how Saul had spoken boldly in that city in the name of Jesus.

²⁸于是扫罗在耶路撒冷和门徒出入来往，So Saul stayed with them, moving about freely in Jerusalem and speaking boldly in the name of the Lord.

送往大数

²⁹奉主的名放胆传道，并与说希腊话的犹太人讲论辩驳；他们却想法子要杀他。He talked and debated with the Grecian Jews, but they tried to kill him.

³⁰弟兄们知道了就送他下凯撒利亚，打发他往大数去。When the brothers learned of this, they took him down to Caesarea and sent him off to Tarsus.
