大卫四面得胜

¹此后，大卫攻打非利士人，把他们治服，从他们手下夺取了京城的权柄（原文是母城的嚼环）；Some time later, David defeated the Philistines, subdued them, and took Metheg-ammah from the hand of the Philistines.

²又攻打摩押人，使他们躺卧在地上，用绳量一量：量二绳的杀了，量一绳的存留。摩押人就归服大卫，给他进贡。David also defeated the Moabites, made them lie down on the ground, and measured them off with a cord. He measured off with two lengths those to be put to death, and with one length those to be spared. So the Moabites became subject to David and brought him tribute.

打败琐巴王哈大底谢

³琐巴王利合的儿子哈大底谢往大河去，要夺回他的国权。大卫就攻打他，David also defeated Hadadezer son of Rehob, king of Zobah, who had marched out to restore his dominion along the Euphrates River.

⁴擒拿了他的马兵一千七百，步兵二万，将拉战车的马砍断蹄筋，但留下一百辆车的马。David captured from him a thousand chariots, seven thousand charioteers, and twenty thousand foot soldiers, and he hamstrung all the horses except a hundred he kept for the chariots.

⁵大马士革的亚兰人来帮助琐巴王哈大底谢，大卫就杀了亚兰人二万二千。When the Arameans of Damascus came to help King Hadadezer of Zobah, David struck down twenty-two thousand of their men.

⁶于是大卫在大马士革的亚兰地设立防营，亚兰人就归服他，给他进贡。大卫无论往哪里去，耶和华都使他得胜。Then he placed garrisons in Aram of Damascus, and the Arameans became subject to David and brought him tribute. So the LORD made David victorious wherever he went.

⁷他夺了哈大底谢臣仆所拿的金盾牌，带到耶路撒冷。And David took the gold shields that belonged to the officers of Hadadezer and brought them to Jerusalem.

⁸大卫王又从属哈大底谢的比他和比罗他城中夺取了许多的铜。And from Betah and Berothai, cities of Hadadezer, King David took a large amount of bronze.

哈马王送礼

⁹哈马王陀以听见大卫杀败哈大底谢的全军，When King Toi of Hamath heard that David had defeated the entire army of Hadadezer,

¹⁰就打发他儿子约兰去见大卫王，问他的安，为他祝福，因为他杀败了哈大底谢（原来陀以与哈大底谢常常争战）。约兰带了金银铜的器皿来，he sent his son Joram to greet King David and bless him for fighting and defeating Hadadezer, who had been at war with Toi. Joram brought with him articles of silver and gold and bronze,

¹¹大卫王将这些器皿和他治服各国所得来的金银都分别为圣，献给耶和华，and King David dedicated these to the LORD, along with the silver and gold he had dedicated from all the nations he had subdued—

¹²就是从亚兰、摩押、亚扪、非利士、亚玛力人所得来的，以及从琐巴王利合的儿子哈大底谢所掠之物。from Edom and Moab, from the Ammonites and Philistines and Amalekites, and from the spoil of Hadadezer son of Rehob, king of Zobah.

以东归服

¹³大卫在盐谷击杀了亚兰（或译：以东，见诗篇六十篇诗题）一万八千人回来，就得了大名；And David made a name for himself when he returned from striking down eighteen thousand Edomites in the Valley of Salt.

¹⁴又在以东全地设立防营，以东人就都归服大卫。大卫无论往哪里去，耶和华都使他得胜。He placed garrisons throughout Edom, and all the Edomites were subject to David. So the LORD made David victorious wherever he went.

大卫的朝廷

¹⁵大卫作以色列众人的王，又向众民秉公行义。Thus David reigned over all Israel and administered justice and righteousness for all his people:

¹⁶洗鲁雅的儿子约押作元帅；亚希律的儿子约沙法作史官；Joab son of Zeruiah was over the army; Jehoshaphat son of Ahilud was the recorder;

¹⁷亚希突的儿子撒督和亚比亚他的儿子亚希米勒作祭司长；西莱雅作书记；Zadok son of Ahitub and Ahimelech son of Abiathar were priests; Seraiah was the scribe;

¹⁸耶何耶大的儿子比拿雅统辖基利提人和比利提人。大卫的众子都作领袖。Benaiah son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and Pelethites; and David’s sons were priestly leaders.

大卫寻找扫罗家的人

¹大卫问说：“扫罗家还有剩下的人没有？我要因约拿单的缘故向他施恩。”Then David asked, “Is there anyone left from the house of Saul to whom I can show kindness for the sake of Jonathan?”

²扫罗家有一个仆人，名叫洗巴，有人叫他来见大卫，王问他说：“你是洗巴吗？”回答说：“仆人是。”And there was a servant of the house of Saul named Ziba. They summoned him to David, and the king inquired, “Are you Ziba?” “I am your servant,” he replied.

³王说：“扫罗家还有人没有？我要照　神的慈爱恩待他。”洗巴对王说：“还有约拿单的一个儿子，是瘸腿的。”So the king asked, “Is there anyone left of the house of Saul to whom I can show the kindness of God?” Ziba answered, “There is still Jonathan’s son, who is lame in both feet.”

⁴王说：“他在哪里？”洗巴对王说：“他在罗·底巴，亚米利的儿子玛吉家里。”“Where is he?” replied the king. And Ziba said, “Indeed, he is in Lo-debar at the house of Machir son of Ammiel.”

⁵于是大卫王打发人去，从罗·底巴亚米利的儿子玛吉家里召了他来。So King David had him brought from the house of Machir son of Ammiel in Lo-debar.

米非波设与王同席

⁶扫罗的孙子、约拿单的儿子米非波设来见大卫，伏地叩拜。大卫说：“米非波设！”米非波设说：“仆人在此。”And when Mephibosheth son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, came to David, he fell facedown in reverence. Then David said, “Mephibosheth!” “I am your servant,” he replied.

⁷大卫说：“你不要惧怕，我必因你父亲约拿单的缘故施恩与你，将你祖父扫罗的一切田地都归还你；你也可以常与我同席吃饭。”“Do not be afraid,” said David, “for surely I will show you kindness for the sake of your father Jonathan. I will restore to you all the land of your grandfather Saul, and you will always eat at my table.”

⁸米非波设又叩拜，说：“仆人算什么，不过如死狗一般，竟蒙王这样眷顾！”Mephibosheth bowed down and said, “What is your servant, that you should show regard for a dead dog like me?”

⁹王召了扫罗的仆人洗巴来，对他说：“我已将属扫罗和他的一切家产都赐给你主人的儿子了。Then the king summoned Saul’s servant Ziba and said to him, “I have given to your master’s grandson all that belonged to Saul and to all his house.

¹⁰你和你的众子、仆人要为你主人的儿子米非波设耕种田地，把所产的拿来供他食用；他却要常与我同席吃饭。”洗巴有十五个儿子，二十个仆人。You and your sons and servants are to work the ground for him and bring in the harvest, so that your master’s grandson may have food to eat. But Mephibosheth, your master’s grandson, is always to eat at my table.” Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants.

¹¹洗巴对王说：“凡我主我王吩咐仆人的，仆人都必遵行。”王又说：“米非波设必与我同席吃饭，如王的儿子一样。”And Ziba said to the king, “Your servant will do all that my lord the king has commanded.” So Mephibosheth ate at David’s table like one of the king’s own sons.

¹²米非波设有一个小儿子，名叫米迦。凡住在洗巴家里的人都作了米非波设的仆人。And Mephibosheth had a young son named Mica, and all who dwelt in the house of Ziba were servants of Mephibosheth.

¹³于是米非波设住在耶路撒冷，常与王同席吃饭。他两腿都是瘸的。So Mephibosheth lived in Jerusalem, because he always ate at the king’s table, and he was lame in both feet.

哈嫩羞辱大卫的使者

¹此后，亚扪人的王死了，他儿子哈嫩接续他作王。Some time later, the king of the Ammonites died and was succeeded by his son Hanun.

²大卫说：“我要照哈嫩的父亲拿辖厚待我的恩典厚待哈嫩。”于是大卫差遣臣仆，为他丧父安慰他。大卫的臣仆到了亚扪人的境内。And David said, “I will show kindness to Hanun son of Nahash, just as his father showed kindness to me.” So David sent some of his servants to console Hanun concerning his father. But when they arrived in the land of the Ammonites,

³但亚扪人的首领对他们的主哈嫩说：“大卫差人来安慰你，你想他是尊敬你父亲吗？他差臣仆来不是详察窥探、要倾覆这城吗？”the princes of the Ammonites said to Hanun their lord, “Just because David has sent you comforters, do you really believe he is showing respect for your father? Has not David instead sent his servants to explore the city, spy it out, and overthrow it?”

⁴哈嫩便将大卫臣仆的胡须剃去一半，又割断他们下半截的衣服，使他们露出下体，打发他们回去。So Hanun took David’s servants, shaved off half of each man’s beard, cut off their garments at the hips, and sent them away.

⁵有人告诉大卫，他就差人去迎接他们，（因为他们甚觉羞耻），告诉他们说：“可以住在耶利哥，等到胡须长起再回来。”When this was reported to David, he sent messengers to meet the men, since they had been thoroughly humiliated. The king told them, “Stay in Jericho until your beards have grown back, and then return.”

约押大败亚扪和亚兰

⁶亚扪人知道大卫憎恶他们，就打发人去，招募伯·利合的亚兰人和琐巴的亚兰人，步兵二万，与玛迦王的人一千、陀伯人一万二千。When the Ammonites realized that they had become a stench to David, they hired twenty thousand Aramean foot soldiers from Beth-rehob and Zoba, as well as a thousand men from the king of Maacah and twelve thousand men from Tob.

⁷大卫听见了，就差派约押统带勇猛的全军出去。On hearing this, David sent Joab and the entire army of mighty men.

⁸亚扪人出来，在城门前摆阵；琐巴与利合的亚兰人、陀伯人，并玛迦人，另在郊野摆阵。The Ammonites marched out and arrayed themselves for battle at the entrance of the city gate, while the Arameans of Zobah and Rehob and the men of Tob and Maacah were by themselves in the open country.

⁹约押看见敌人在他前后摆阵，就从以色列军中挑选精兵，使他们对着亚兰人摆阵。When Joab saw the battle lines before him and behind him, he selected some of the best men of Israel and arrayed them against the Arameans.

¹⁰其余的兵交与他兄弟亚比筛，对着亚扪人摆阵。And he placed the rest of the troops under the command of his brother Abishai, who arrayed them against the Ammonites.

¹¹约押对亚比筛说：“亚兰人若强过我，你就来帮助我；亚扪人若强过你，我就去帮助你。“If the Arameans are too strong for me,” said Joab, “then you will come to my rescue. And if the Ammonites are too strong for you, then I will come to your rescue.

¹²我们都当刚强，为本国的民和　神的城邑作大丈夫。愿耶和华凭他的意旨而行！”Be strong and let us fight bravely for our people and for the cities of our God. May the LORD do what is good in His sight.”

¹³于是，约押和跟随他的人前进攻打亚兰人；亚兰人在约押面前逃跑。So Joab and his troops advanced to fight the Arameans, who fled before him.

¹⁴亚扪人见亚兰人逃跑，他们也在亚比筛面前逃跑进城。约押就离开亚扪人那里，回耶路撒冷去了。When the Ammonites saw that the Arameans had fled, they too fled before Abishai, and they entered the city. So Joab returned from fighting against the Ammonites and came to Jerusalem.

亚兰人再败

¹⁵亚兰人见自己被以色列人打败，就又聚集。When the Arameans saw that they had been defeated by Israel, they regrouped.

¹⁶哈大底谢差遣人，将大河那边的亚兰人调来；他们到了希兰，哈大底谢的将军朔法率领他们。Hadadezer sent messengers to bring more Arameans from beyond the Euphrates, and they came to Helam with Shobach the commander of Hadadezer’s army leading them.

¹⁷有人告诉大卫，他就聚集以色列众人，过约旦河，来到希兰。亚兰人迎着大卫摆阵，与他打仗。When this was reported to David, he gathered all Israel, crossed the Jordan, and went to Helam. Then the Arameans arrayed themselves against David and fought against him.

¹⁸亚兰人在以色列人面前逃跑；大卫杀了亚兰七百辆战车的人，四万马兵，又杀了亚兰的将军朔法。But the Arameans fled before Israel, and David killed seven hundred charioteers and forty thousand foot soldiers. He also struck down Shobach the commander of their army, who died there.

¹⁹属哈大底谢的诸王见自己被以色列人打败，就与以色列人和好，归服他们。于是亚兰人不敢再帮助亚扪人了。When all the kings who were subject to Hadadezer saw that they had been defeated by Israel, they made peace with Israel and became subject to them. So the Arameans were afraid to help the Ammonites anymore.

妇女清早到坟墓

¹七日的头一日，黎明的时候，那些妇女带着所预备的香料来到坟墓前，On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women came to the tomb, bringing the spices they had prepared.

²看见石头已经从坟墓滚开了，They found the stone rolled away from the tomb,

³她们就进去，只是不见主耶稣的身体。but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.

为甚么在死人中找活人

⁴正在猜疑之间，忽然有两个人站在旁边，衣服放光。While they were puzzling over this, suddenly two men in radiant apparel stood beside them.

⁵妇女们惊怕，将脸伏地。那两个人就对她们说：“为什么在死人中找活人呢？As the women bowed their faces to the ground in terror, the two men asked them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead?

⁶他不在这里，已经复活了。当记念他还在加利利的时候怎样告诉你们，He is not here; He has risen! Remember how He told you while He was still in Galilee:

⁷说：‘人子必须被交在罪人手里，钉在十字架上，第三日复活。’”‘The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and on the third day rise again.’”

妇女回去报信

⁸她们就想起耶稣的话来，Then they remembered His words.

⁹便从坟墓那里回去，把这一切的事告诉十一个使徒和其余的人。And when they returned from the tomb, they reported all these things to the Eleven and to all the others.

¹⁰那告诉使徒的就是抹大拉的马利亚和约亚拿，并雅各的母亲马利亚，还有与她们在一处的妇女。It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the other women with them who told this to the apostles.

使徒以为是胡言

¹¹她们这些话，使徒以为是胡言，就不相信。But their words seemed like nonsense to them, and they did not believe the women.

彼得跑到坟墓前

¹²彼得起来，跑到坟墓前，低头往里看，见细麻布独在一处，就回去了，心里希奇所成的事。Peter, however, got up and ran to the tomb. And after bending down and seeing only the linen cloths, he went away, wondering to himself what had happened.
