亚玛力人来报死讯

¹扫罗死后，大卫击杀亚玛力人回来，在洗革拉住了两天。After the death of Saul, David returned from the slaughter of the Amalekites and stayed in Ziklag two days.

²第三天，有一人从扫罗的营里出来，衣服撕裂，头蒙灰尘，到大卫面前伏地叩拜。On the third day a man with torn clothes and dust on his head arrived from Saul’s camp. When he came to David, he fell to the ground to pay him homage.

³大卫问他说：“你从哪里来？”他说：“我从以色列的营里逃来。”“Where have you come from?” David asked. “I have escaped from the Israelite camp,” he replied.

⁴大卫又问他说：“事情怎样？请你告诉我。”他回答说：“百姓从阵上逃跑，也有许多人仆倒死亡；扫罗和他儿子约拿单也死了。”“What was the outcome?” David asked. “Please tell me.” “The troops fled from the battle,” he replied. “Many of them fell and died. And Saul and his son Jonathan are also dead.”

⁵大卫问报信的少年人说：“你怎么知道扫罗和他儿子约拿单死了呢？”Then David asked the young man who had brought him the report, “How do you know that Saul and his son Jonathan are dead?”

⁶报信的少年人说：“我偶然到基利波山，看见扫罗伏在自己枪上，有战车、马兵紧紧地追他。“I happened to be on Mount Gilboa,” he replied, “and there was Saul, leaning on his spear, with the chariots and the cavalry closing in on him.

⁷他回头看见我，就呼叫我。我说：‘我在这里。’When he turned around and saw me, he called out to me, and I answered, ‘Here I am!’

⁸他问我说：‘你是什么人？’我说：‘我是亚玛力人。’‘Who are you?’ he asked. So I told him, ‘I am an Amalekite.’

⁹他说：‘请你来，将我杀死；因为痛苦抓住我，我的生命尚存。’Then he begged me, ‘Stand over me and kill me, for agony has seized me, but my life still lingers.’

¹⁰我准知他仆倒必不能活，就去将他杀死，把他头上的冠冕、臂上的镯子拿到我主这里。”So I stood over him and killed him, because I knew that after he had fallen he could not survive. And I took the crown that was on his head and the band that was on his arm, and I have brought them here to my lord.”

大卫哀哭并处死报信的人

¹¹大卫就撕裂衣服，跟随他的人也是如此，Then David took hold of his own clothes and tore them, and all the men who were with him did the same.

¹²而且悲哀哭号，禁食到晚上，是因扫罗和他儿子约拿单，并耶和华的民以色列家的人，倒在刀下。They mourned and wept and fasted until evening for Saul and his son Jonathan, and for the people of the LORD and the house of Israel, because they had fallen by the sword.

¹³大卫问报信的少年人说：“你是哪里的人？”他说：“我是亚玛力客人的儿子。”And David inquired of the young man who had brought him the report, “Where are you from?” “I am the son of a foreigner,” he answered. “I am an Amalekite.”

¹⁴大卫说：“你伸手杀害耶和华的受膏者，怎么不畏惧呢？”So David asked him, “Why were you not afraid to lift your hand to destroy the LORD’s anointed?”

¹⁵大卫叫了一个少年人来，说：“你去杀他吧！”Then David summoned one of the young men and said, “Go, execute him!” So the young man struck him down, and he died.

¹⁶大卫对他说：“你流人血的罪归到自己的头上，因为你亲口作见证说：‘我杀了耶和华的受膏者。’”少年人就把他杀了。For David had said to the Amalekite, “Your blood be on your own head because your own mouth has testified against you, saying, ‘I killed the LORD’s anointed.’”

弓歌：哀悼扫罗和约拿单

¹⁷大卫作哀歌，吊扫罗和他儿子约拿单，Then David took up this lament for Saul and his son Jonathan,

¹⁸且吩咐将这歌教导犹大人。这歌名叫“弓歌”，写在雅煞珥书上。and he ordered that the sons of Judah be taught the Song of the Bow. It is written in the Book of Jashar:

¹⁹歌中说：以色列啊，你尊荣者在山上被杀！大英雄何竟死亡！“Your glory, O Israel, lies slain on your heights. How the mighty have fallen!

²⁰不要在迦特报告；不要在亚实基伦街上传扬；免得非利士的女子欢乐；免得未受割礼之人的女子矜夸。Tell it not in Gath; proclaim it not in the streets of Ashkelon, lest the daughters of the Philistines rejoice, and the daughters of the uncircumcised exult.

²¹基利波山哪，愿你那里没有雨露！愿你田地无土产可作供物！因为英雄的盾牌在那里被污丢弃；扫罗的盾牌仿佛未曾抹油。O mountains of Gilboa, may you have no dew or rain, no fields yielding offerings of grain. For there the shield of the mighty was defiled, the shield of Saul, no longer anointed with oil.

²²约拿单的弓箭非流敌人的血不退缩；扫罗的刀剑非剖勇士的油不收回。From the blood of the slain, from the fat of the mighty, the bow of Jonathan did not retreat, and the sword of Saul did not return empty.

²³扫罗和约拿单—活时相悦相爱，死时也不分离—他们比鹰更快，比狮子还强。Saul and Jonathan, beloved and delightful in life, were not divided in death. They were swifter than eagles; they were stronger than lions.

²⁴以色列的女子啊，当为扫罗哭号！他曾使你们穿朱红色的美衣，使你们衣服有黄金的妆饰。O daughters of Israel, weep for Saul, who clothed you in scarlet and luxury, who decked your garments with ornaments of gold.

²⁵英雄何竟在阵上仆倒！约拿单何竟在山上被杀！How the mighty have fallen in the thick of battle! Jonathan lies slain on your heights.

²⁶我兄约拿单哪，我为你悲伤！我甚喜悦你！你向我发的爱情奇妙非常，过于妇女的爱情。I grieve for you, Jonathan, my brother. You were delightful to me; your love to me was extraordinary, surpassing the love of women.

²⁷英雄何竟仆倒！战具何竟灭没！How the mighty have fallen, and the weapons of war have perished!”

大卫在希伯仑作犹大王

¹此后，大卫问耶和华说：“我上犹大的一个城去可以吗？”耶和华说：“可以。”大卫说：“我上哪一个城去呢？”耶和华说：“上希伯仑去。”Some time later, David inquired of the LORD, “Should I go up to one of the towns of Judah?” “Go up,” the LORD answered. Then David asked, “Where should I go?” “To Hebron,” replied the LORD.

²于是大卫和他的两个妻—一个是耶斯列人亚希暖，一个是作过迦密人拿八妻的亚比该—都上那里去了。So David went there with his two wives, Ahinoam of Jezreel and Abigail the widow of Nabal of Carmel.

³大卫也将跟随他的人和他们各人的眷属一同带上去，住在希伯仑的城邑中。David also took the men who were with him, each with his household, and they settled in the towns near Hebron.

⁴犹大人来到希伯仑，在那里膏大卫作犹大家的王。有人告诉大卫说：“葬埋扫罗的是基列·雅比人。”Then the men of Judah came to Hebron, and there they anointed David king over the house of Judah. And they told David, “It was the men of Jabesh-gilead who buried Saul.”

⁵大卫就差人去见基列·雅比人，对他们说：“你们厚待你们的主—扫罗，将他葬埋。愿耶和华赐福与你们！So David sent messengers to the men of Jabesh-gilead to tell them, “The LORD bless you, because you showed this kindness to Saul your lord when you buried him.

⁶你们既行了这事，愿耶和华以慈爱诚实待你们，我也要为此厚待你们。Now may the LORD show you loving devotion and faithfulness, and I will also show you the same favor because you have done this.

⁷现在你们的主—扫罗死了，犹大家已经膏我作他们的王，所以你们要刚强奋勇。”Now then, be strong and courageous, for though Saul your lord is dead, the house of Judah has anointed me as their king.”

押尼珥立伊施波设为王

⁸扫罗的元帅尼珥的儿子押尼珥，曾将扫罗的儿子伊施波设带过河，到玛哈念，Meanwhile, Abner son of Ner, the commander of Saul’s army, took Saul’s son Ish-bosheth, moved him to Mahanaim,

⁹立他作王，治理基列、亚书利、耶斯列、以法莲、便雅悯，和以色列众人。and made him king over Gilead, Asher, Jezreel, Ephraim, and Benjamin—over all Israel.

¹⁰扫罗的儿子伊施波设登基的时候年四十岁，作以色列王二年；惟独犹大家归从大卫。Saul’s son Ish-bosheth was forty years old when he began to reign over Israel, and he reigned for two years. The house of Judah, however, followed David.

¹¹大卫在希伯仑作犹大家的王，共七年零六个月。And the length of time that David was king in Hebron over the house of Judah was seven years and six months.

基遍池旁的战事

¹²尼珥的儿子押尼珥和扫罗的儿子伊施波设的仆人从玛哈念出来，往基遍去。One day Abner son of Ner and the servants of Ish-bosheth son of Saul marched out from Mahanaim to Gibeon.

¹³洗鲁雅的儿子约押和大卫的仆人也出来，在基遍池旁与他们相遇；一班坐在池这边，一班坐在池那边。So Joab son of Zeruiah and the servants of David marched out and met them by the pool of Gibeon. And the two groups took up positions on opposite sides of the pool.

¹⁴押尼珥对约押说：“让少年人起来，在我们面前戏耍吧！”约押说：“可以。”Then Abner said to Joab, “Let us have the young men get up and compete before us.” “Let them get up,” Joab replied.

¹⁵就按着定数起来：属扫罗儿子伊施波设的便雅悯人过去十二名，大卫的仆人也过去十二名，So they got up and were counted off—twelve for Benjamin and Ish-bosheth son of Saul, and twelve for David.

¹⁶彼此揪头，用刀刺肋，一同仆倒。所以，那地叫作希利甲·哈素林，就在基遍。Then each man grabbed his opponent by the head and thrust his sword into his opponent’s side, and they all fell together. So this place, which is in Gibeon, is called Helkath-hazzurim.

¹⁷那日的战事凶猛，押尼珥和以色列人败在大卫的仆人面前。The battle that day was intense, and Abner and the men of Israel were defeated by the servants of David.

押尼珥杀亚撒黑

¹⁸在那里有洗鲁雅的三个儿子：约押、亚比筛、亚撒黑。亚撒黑脚快如野鹿一般；The three sons of Zeruiah were there: Joab, Abishai, and Asahel. Now Asahel was fleet of foot like a wild gazelle,

¹⁹亚撒黑追赶押尼珥，直追赶他不偏左右。and he chased Abner, not turning to the right or to the left in his pursuit.

²⁰押尼珥回头说：“你是亚撒黑吗？”回答说：“是。”And Abner glanced back and said, “Is that you, Asahel?” “It is,” Asahel replied.

²¹押尼珥对他说：“你或转向左转向右，拿住一个少年人，剥去他的战衣。”亚撒黑却不肯转开不追赶他。So Abner told him, “Turn to your right or to your left, seize one of the young men, and take his equipment for yourself.” But Asahel would not stop chasing him.

²²押尼珥又对亚撒黑说：“你转开不追赶我吧！我何必杀你呢？若杀你，有什么脸见你哥哥约押呢？”Once again, Abner warned Asahel, “Stop chasing me. Why should I strike you to the ground? How could I show my face to your brother Joab?”

²³亚撒黑仍不肯转开。故此，押尼珥就用枪鐏刺入他的肚腹，甚至枪从背后透出，亚撒黑就在那里仆倒而死。众人赶到亚撒黑仆倒而死的地方，就都站住。But Asahel refused to turn away. So Abner thrust the butt of his spear into his stomach, and it came out his back, and he fell dead on the spot. And every man paused when he came to the place where Asahel had fallen and died.

²⁴约押和亚比筛追赶押尼珥，日落的时候，到了通基遍旷野的路旁，基亚对面的亚玛山。But Joab and Abishai pursued Abner. By sunset, they had gone as far as the hill of Ammah opposite Giah on the way to the wilderness of Gibeon.

²⁵便雅悯人聚集，跟随押尼珥站在一个山顶上。The Benjamites rallied to Abner, formed a single unit, and took their stand atop a hill.

²⁶押尼珥呼叫约押说：“刀剑岂可永远杀人吗？你岂不知终久必有苦楚吗？你要等何时才叫百姓回去、不追赶弟兄呢？”Then Abner called out to Joab: “Must the sword devour forever? Do you not realize that this will only end in bitterness? How long before you tell the troops to stop pursuing their brothers?”

²⁷约押说：“我指着永生的　神起誓：你若不说戏耍的那句话，今日早晨百姓就回去，不追赶弟兄了。”“As surely as God lives,” Joab replied, “if you had not spoken up, the troops would have continued pursuing their brothers until morning.”

²⁸于是约押吹角，众民就站住，不再追赶以色列人，也不再打仗了。So Joab blew the ram’s horn, and all the troops stopped; they no longer pursued Israel or continued to fight.

²⁹押尼珥和跟随他的人整夜经过亚拉巴，过约旦河，走过毕伦，到了玛哈念。And all that night Abner and his men marched through the Arabah. They crossed the Jordan, marched all morning, and arrived at Mahanaim.

³⁰约押追赶押尼珥回来，聚集众民，见大卫的仆人中缺少了十九个人和亚撒黑。When Joab returned from pursuing Abner, he gathered all the troops. In addition to Asahel, nineteen of David’s servants were missing,

³¹但大卫的仆人杀了便雅悯人和跟随押尼珥的人，共三百六十名。but they had struck down 360 Benjamites who were with Abner.

³²众人将亚撒黑送到伯利恒，葬在他父亲的坟墓里。约押和跟随他的人走了一夜，天亮的时候到了希伯仑。And they took Asahel and buried him in his father’s tomb in Bethlehem. Then Joab and his men marched all night and reached Hebron at daybreak.

大卫家日见强盛

¹扫罗家和大卫家争战许久。大卫家日见强盛；扫罗家日见衰弱。Now the war between the house of Saul and the house of David was protracted. And David grew stronger and stronger, while the house of Saul grew weaker and weaker.

²大卫在希伯仑得了几个儿子：长子暗嫩是耶斯列人亚希暖所生的；And sons were born to David in Hebron: His firstborn was Amnon, by Ahinoam of Jezreel;

³次子基利押（在历代上三章一节作但以利）是作过迦密人拿八的妻亚比该所生的；三子押沙龙是基述王达买的女儿玛迦所生的；his second was Chileab, by Abigail the widow of Nabal of Carmel; his third was Absalom, the son of Maacah daughter of King Talmai of Geshur;

⁴四子亚多尼雅是哈及所生的；五子示法提雅是亚比她所生的；his fourth was Adonijah, the son of Haggith; his fifth was Shephatiah, the son of Abital;

⁵六子以特念是大卫的妻以格拉所生的。大卫这六个儿子都是在希伯仑生的。and his sixth was Ithream, by David’s wife Eglah. These sons were born to David in Hebron.

押尼珥与伊施波设决裂

⁶扫罗家和大卫家争战的时候，押尼珥在扫罗家大有权势。During the war between the house of Saul and the house of David, Abner had continued to strengthen his position in the house of Saul.

⁷扫罗有一妃嫔，名叫利斯巴，是爱亚的女儿。一日，伊施波设对押尼珥说：“你为什么与我父的妃嫔同房呢？”Now Saul had a concubine named Rizpah, the daughter of Aiah. So Ish-bosheth questioned Abner, “Why did you sleep with my father’s concubine?”

⁸押尼珥因伊施波设的话就甚发怒，说：“我岂是犹大的狗头呢？我恩待你父扫罗的家和他的弟兄、朋友，不将你交在大卫手里，今日你竟为这妇人责备我吗？Abner was furious over Ish-bosheth’s accusation. “Am I the head of a dog that belongs to Judah?” he asked. “All this time I have been loyal to the house of your father Saul, to his brothers, and to his friends. I have not delivered you into the hand of David, but now you accuse me of wrongdoing with this woman!

^9–10我若不照着耶和华起誓应许大卫的话行，废去扫罗的位，建立大卫的位，使他治理以色列和犹大，从但直到别是巴，愿　神重重地降罚与我！”May God punish Abner, and ever so severely, if I do not do for David what the LORD has sworn to him: to transfer the kingdom from the house of Saul and to establish the throne of David over Israel and Judah, from Dan to Beersheba.”

¹¹伊施波设惧怕押尼珥，不敢回答一句。And for fear of Abner, Ish-bosheth did not dare to say another word to him.

押尼珥投靠大卫

¹²押尼珥打发人去见大卫，替他说：“这国归谁呢？”又说：“你与我立约，我必帮助你，使以色列人都归服你。”Then Abner sent messengers on his behalf to say to David, “To whom does the land belong? Make your covenant with me, and surely my hand will be with you to bring all Israel over to you.”

¹³大卫说：“好！我与你立约。但有一件，你来见我面的时候，若不将扫罗的女儿米甲带来，必不得见我的面。”“Good,” replied David, “I will make a covenant with you. But there is one thing I require of you: Do not appear before me unless you bring Saul’s daughter Michal when you come to see me.”

¹⁴大卫就打发人去见扫罗的儿子伊施波设，说：“你要将我的妻米甲归还我；她是我从前用一百非利士人的阳皮所聘定的。”Then David sent messengers to say to Ish-bosheth son of Saul, “Give me back my wife, Michal, whom I betrothed to myself for a hundred Philistine foreskins.”

¹⁵伊施波设就打发人去，将米甲从拉亿的儿子、她丈夫帕铁那里接回来。So Ish-bosheth sent and took Michal from her husband Paltiel son of Laish.

¹⁶米甲的丈夫跟着她，一面走一面哭，直跟到巴户琳。押尼珥说：“你回去吧！”帕铁就回去了。Her husband followed her, weeping all the way to Bahurim. Then Abner said to him, “Go back.” So he returned home.

¹⁷押尼珥对以色列长老说：“从前你们愿意大卫作王治理你们，Now Abner conferred with the elders of Israel and said, “In the past you sought David as your king.

¹⁸现在你们可以照心愿而行。因为耶和华曾论到大卫说：‘我必借我仆人大卫的手，救我民以色列脱离非利士人和众仇敌的手。’”Now take action, because the LORD has said to David, ‘Through My servant David I will save My people Israel from the hands of the Philistines and of all their enemies.’”

¹⁹押尼珥也用这话说给便雅悯人听，又到希伯仑，将以色列人和便雅悯全家一切所喜悦的事说给大卫听。Abner also spoke to the Benjamites. Then he went to Hebron to tell David all that seemed good to Israel and to the whole house of Benjamin.

²⁰押尼珥带着二十个人来到希伯仑见大卫，大卫就为押尼珥和他带来的人设摆筵席。When Abner and twenty of his men came to David at Hebron, David held a feast for them.

²¹押尼珥对大卫说：“我要起身去招聚以色列众人来见我主我王，与你立约，你就可以照着心愿作王。”于是大卫送押尼珥去，押尼珥就平平安安地去了。Then Abner said to David, “Let me go at once, and I will gather all Israel to my lord the king, that they may make a covenant with you, and that you may rule over all that your heart desires.” So David dismissed Abner, and he went in peace.

约押刺杀押尼珥

²²约押和大卫的仆人攻击敌军，带回许多的掠物。那时押尼珥不在希伯仑大卫那里，因大卫已经送他去，他也平平安安地去了。Just then David’s soldiers and Joab returned from a raid, bringing with them a great plunder. But Abner was not with David in Hebron, because David had sent him on his way in peace.

²³约押和跟随他的全军到了，就有人告诉约押说：“尼珥的儿子押尼珥来见王，王送他去，他也平平安安地去了。”When Joab and all his troops arrived, he was informed, “Abner son of Ner came to see the king, who sent him on his way in peace.”

²⁴约押去见王说：“你这是做什么呢？押尼珥来见你，你为何送他去，他就踪影不见了呢？So Joab went to the king and said, “What have you done? Look, Abner came to you. Why did you dismiss him? Now he is getting away!

²⁵你当晓得，尼珥的儿子押尼珥来是要诓哄你，要知道你的出入和你一切所行的事。”Surely you realize that Abner son of Ner came to deceive you and to track your movements and all that you are doing.”

²⁶约押从大卫那里出来，就打发人去追赶押尼珥，在西拉井追上他，将他带回来，大卫却不知道。As soon as Joab had left David, he sent messengers after Abner, who brought him back from the well of Sirah. But David was unaware of it.

²⁷押尼珥回到希伯仑，约押领他到城门的瓮洞，假作要与他说机密话，就在那里刺透他的肚腹，他便死了。这是报杀他兄弟亚撒黑的仇。When Abner returned to Hebron, Joab pulled him aside into the gateway, as if to speak to him privately, and there Joab stabbed him in the stomach. So Abner died on account of the blood of Joab’s brother Asahel.

²⁸大卫听见了，就说：“流尼珥的儿子押尼珥的血，这罪在耶和华面前必永不归我和我的国。Afterward, David heard about this and said, “I and my kingdom are forever guiltless before the LORD concerning the blood of Abner son of Ner.

²⁹愿流他血的罪归到约押头上和他父的全家；又愿约押家不断有患漏症的，长大麻风的，架拐而行的，被刀杀死的，缺乏饮食的。”May it whirl over the head of Joab and over the entire house of his father, and may the house of Joab never be without one having a discharge or skin disease, or one who leans on a staff or falls by the sword or lacks food.”

³⁰约押和他兄弟亚比筛杀了押尼珥，是因押尼珥在基遍争战的时候杀了他们的兄弟亚撒黑。(Joab and his brother Abishai murdered Abner because he had killed their brother Asahel in the battle at Gibeon.)

大卫为押尼珥举哀

³¹大卫吩咐约押和跟随他的众人说：“你们当撕裂衣服，腰束麻布，在押尼珥棺前哀哭。”大卫王也跟在棺后。Then David ordered Joab and all the people with him, “Tear your clothes, put on sackcloth, and mourn before Abner.” And King David himself walked behind the funeral bier.

³²他们将押尼珥葬在希伯仑。王在押尼珥的墓旁放声而哭，众民也都哭了。When they buried Abner in Hebron, the king wept aloud at Abner’s tomb, and all the people wept.

³³王为押尼珥举哀，说：押尼珥何竟像愚顽人死呢？And the king sang this lament for Abner: “Should Abner die the death of a fool?

³⁴你手未曾捆绑，脚未曾锁住。你死，如人死在罪孽之辈手下一样。于是众民又为押尼珥哀哭。Your hands were not bound, your feet were not fettered. As a man falls before the wicked, so also you fell.” And all the people wept over him even more.

³⁵日头未落的时候，众民来劝大卫吃饭，但大卫起誓说：“我若在日头未落以前吃饭，或吃别物，愿　神重重地降罚与我！”Then all the people came and urged David to eat something while it was still day, but David took an oath, saying, “May God punish me, and ever so severely, if I taste bread or anything else before the sun sets!”

³⁶众民知道了就都喜悦。凡王所行的，众民无不喜悦。All the people took note and were pleased. In fact, everything the king did pleased them.

³⁷那日，以色列众民才知道杀尼珥的儿子押尼珥并非出于王意。So on that day all the troops and all Israel were convinced that the king had no part in the murder of Abner son of Ner.

³⁸王对臣仆说：“你们岂不知今日以色列人中死了一个作元帅的大丈夫吗？Then the king said to his servants, “Do you not realize that a great prince has fallen today in Israel?

³⁹我虽然受膏为王，今日还是软弱；这洗鲁雅的两个儿子比我刚强。愿耶和华照着恶人所行的恶报应他。”And I am weak this day, though anointed as king, and these men, the sons of Zeruiah, are too fierce for me. May the LORD repay the evildoer according to his evil!”

伊施波设被刺杀

¹扫罗的儿子伊施波设听见押尼珥死在希伯仑，手就发软；以色列众人也都惊惶。Now when Ish-bosheth son of Saul heard that Abner had died in Hebron, he lost courage, and all Israel was dismayed.

²扫罗的儿子伊施波设有两个军长，一名巴拿，一名利甲，是便雅悯支派、比录人临门的儿子。比录也属便雅悯。Saul’s son had two men who were leaders of raiding parties. One was named Baanah and the other Rechab; they were sons of Rimmon the Beerothite of the tribe of Benjamin—Beeroth is considered part of Benjamin,

³比录人早先逃到基他音，在那里寄居，直到今日。because the Beerothites fled to Gittaim and have lived there as foreigners to this day.

⁴扫罗的儿子约拿单有一个儿子名叫米非波设，是瘸腿的。扫罗和约拿单死亡的消息从耶斯列传到的时候，他才五岁。他乳母抱着他逃跑；因为跑得太急，孩子掉在地上，腿就瘸了。And Jonathan son of Saul had a son who was lame in his feet. He was five years old when the report about Saul and Jonathan came from Jezreel. His nurse picked him up and fled, but as she was hurrying to escape, he fell and became lame. His name was Mephibosheth.

⁵一日，比录人临门的两个儿子利甲和巴拿出去，约在午热的时候到了伊施波设的家；伊施波设正睡午觉。Now Rechab and Baanah, the sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, set out and arrived at the house of Ish-bosheth in the heat of the day, while the king was taking his midday nap.

⁶他们进了房子，假作要取麦子，就刺透伊施波设的肚腹，逃跑了。They entered the interior of the house as if to get some wheat, and they stabbed him in the stomach. Then Rechab and his brother Baanah slipped away.

⁷他们进房子的时候，伊施波设正在卧房里躺在床上，他们将他杀死，割了他的首级，拿着首级在亚拉巴走了一夜，They had entered the house while Ish-bosheth was lying on his bed, and having stabbed and killed him, they beheaded him, took his head, and traveled all night by way of the Arabah.

⁸将伊施波设的首级拿到希伯仑见大卫王，说：“王的仇敌扫罗曾寻索王的性命。看哪，这是他儿子伊施波设的首级；耶和华今日为我主我王在扫罗和他后裔的身上报了仇。”They brought the head of Ish-bosheth to David at Hebron and said to the king, “Here is the head of Ish-bosheth son of Saul, your enemy who sought your life. Today the LORD has granted vengeance to my lord the king against Saul and his offspring.”

大卫处死凶手

⁹大卫对比录人临门的儿子利甲和他兄弟巴拿说：“我指着救我性命脱离一切苦难、永生的耶和华起誓：But David answered Rechab and his brother Baanah, the sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, “As surely as the LORD lives, who has redeemed my life from all distress,

¹⁰从前有人报告我说，扫罗死了，他自以为报好消息；我就拿住他，将他杀在洗革拉，这就作了他报消息的赏赐。when someone told me, ‘Look, Saul is dead,’ and thought he was a bearer of good news, I seized him and put him to death at Ziklag. That was his reward for his news!

¹¹何况恶人将义人杀在他的床上，我岂不向你们讨流他血的罪、从世上除灭你们呢？”How much more, when wicked men kill a righteous man in his own house and on his own bed, shall I not now require his blood from your hands and remove you from the earth!”

¹²于是大卫吩咐少年人将他们杀了，砍断他们的手脚，挂在希伯仑的池旁，却将伊施波设的首级葬在希伯仑押尼珥的坟墓里。So David commanded his young men, and they killed Rechab and Baanah. They cut off their hands and feet and hung their bodies by the pool in Hebron, but they took the head of Ish-bosheth and buried it in Abner’s tomb in Hebron.

在彼拉多面前被控告

¹众人都起来，把耶稣解到彼拉多面前，Then the whole council rose and led Jesus away to Pilate.

³彼拉多问耶稣说：“你是犹太人的王吗？”耶稣回答说：“你说的是。”So Pilate asked Him, “Are You the King of the Jews?” “You have said so,” Jesus replied.

⁴彼拉多对祭司长和众人说：“我查不出这人有什么罪来。”Then Pilate said to the chief priests and the crowds, “I find no basis for a charge against this man.”

⁵但他们越发极力地说：“他煽惑百姓，在犹太遍地传道，从加利利起，直到这里了。”But they kept insisting, “He stirs up the people all over Judea with His teaching. He began in Galilee and has come all the way here.”

解到希律那里

⁶彼拉多一听见，就问：“这人是加利利人吗？”When Pilate heard this, he asked if the man was a Galilean.

⁷既晓得耶稣属希律所管，就把他送到希律那里去。那时希律正在耶路撒冷。And learning that Jesus was under Herod’s jurisdiction, he sent Him to Herod, who himself was in Jerusalem at that time.

⁸希律看见耶稣，就很欢喜；因为听见过他的事，久已想要见他，并且指望看他行一件神迹，When Herod saw Jesus, he was greatly pleased. He had wanted to see Him for a long time, because he had heard about Him and was hoping to see Him perform a miracle.

⁹于是问他许多的话，耶稣却一言不答。Herod questioned Jesus at great length, but He gave no answer.

¹⁰祭司长和文士都站着，极力地告他。Meanwhile, the chief priests and scribes stood there, vehemently accusing Him.

¹¹希律和他的兵丁就藐视耶稣，戏弄他，给他穿上华丽衣服，把他送回彼拉多那里去。And even Herod and his soldiers ridiculed and mocked Him. Dressing Him in a fine robe, they sent Him back to Pilate.

¹²从前希律和彼拉多彼此有仇，在那一天就成了朋友。That day Herod and Pilate became friends; before this time they had been enemies.

彼拉多宣告耶稣无罪

¹³彼拉多传齐了祭司长和官府并百姓，Then Pilate called together the chief priests, the rulers, and the people,

¹⁴就对他们说：“你们解这人到我这里，说他是诱惑百姓的。看哪，我也曾将你们告他的事，在你们面前审问他，并没有查出他什么罪来；and said to them, “You brought me this man as one who was inciting the people to rebellion. I have examined Him here in your presence and found Him not guilty of your charges against Him.

¹⁵就是希律也是如此，所以把他送回来。可见他没有做什么该死的事。Neither has Herod, for he sent Him back to us. As you can see, He has done nothing deserving of death.

¹⁶故此，我要责打他，把他释放了。”（有古卷加：Therefore I will punish Him and release Him.”

¹⁷每逢这节期，巡抚必须释放一个囚犯给他们。）（BSB 英译本没有这一节）

群众要求释放巴拉巴

¹⁸众人却一齐喊着说：“除掉这个人！释放巴拉巴给我们！”But they all cried out in unison: “Away with this man! Release Barabbas to us!”

¹⁹这巴拉巴是因在城里作乱杀人，下在监里的。(Barabbas had been imprisoned for an insurrection in the city, and for murder.)

²⁰彼拉多愿意释放耶稣，就又劝解他们。Wanting to release Jesus, Pilate addressed them again,

²¹无奈他们喊着说：“钉他十字架！钉他十字架！”but they kept shouting, “Crucify Him! Crucify Him!”

²²彼拉多第三次对他们说：“为什么呢？这人做了什么恶事呢？我并没有查出他什么该死的罪来。所以，我要责打他，把他释放了。”A third time he said to them, “What evil has this man done? I have found in Him no offense worthy of death. So after I punish Him, I will release Him.”

²³他们大声催逼彼拉多，求他把耶稣钉在十字架上。他们的声音就得了胜。But they were insistent, demanding with loud voices for Jesus to be crucified. And their clamor prevailed.

彼拉多照众人所求的定案

²⁴彼拉多这才照他们所求的定案，So Pilate sentenced that their demand be met.

²⁵把他们所求的那作乱杀人、下在监里的释放了，把耶稣交给他们，任凭他们的意思行。As they had requested, he released the one imprisoned for insurrection and murder, and he handed Jesus over to their will.
