迦勒的请求

⁶那时，犹大人来到吉甲见约书亚，有基尼洗族耶孚尼的儿子迦勒对约书亚说：“耶和华在加低斯·巴尼亚指着我与你对神人摩西所说的话，你都知道了。Then the sons of Judah approached Joshua at Gilgal, and Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite said to him, “You know what the LORD said to Moses the man of God at Kadesh-barnea about you and me.

⁷耶和华的仆人摩西从加低斯·巴尼亚打发我窥探这地，那时我正四十岁；我按着心意回报他。I was forty years old when Moses the servant of the LORD sent me from Kadesh-barnea to spy out the land, and I brought back to him an honest report.

⁸然而，同我上去的众弟兄使百姓的心消化；但我专心跟从耶和华—我的　神。Although my brothers who went with me made the hearts of the people melt with fear, I remained loyal to the LORD my God.

⁹当日摩西起誓说：‘你脚所踏之地定要归你和你的子孙永远为业，因为你专心跟从耶和华—我的　神。’On that day Moses swore to me, saying, ‘Surely the land on which you have set foot will be an inheritance to you and your children forever, because you have wholly followed the LORD my God.’

¹⁰自从耶和华对摩西说这话的时候，耶和华照他所应许的使我存活这四十五年；其间以色列人在旷野行走。看哪，现今我八十五岁了，Now behold, as the LORD promised, He has kept me alive these forty-five years since He spoke this word to Moses, while Israel wandered in the wilderness. So here I am today, eighty-five years old,

¹¹我还是强壮，像摩西打发我去的那天一样；无论是争战，是出入，我的力量那时如何，现在还是如何。still as strong today as I was the day Moses sent me out. As my strength was then, so it is now for war, for going out, and for coming in.

¹²求你将耶和华那日应许我的这山地给我；那里有亚衲族人，并宽大坚固的城，你也曾听见了。或者耶和华照他所应许的与我同在，我就把他们赶出去。”Now therefore give me this hill country that the LORD promised me on that day, for you yourself heard then that the Anakim were there, with great and fortified cities. Perhaps with the LORD’s help I will drive them out, as the LORD has spoken.”

希伯仑归迦勒为业

¹³于是约书亚为耶孚尼的儿子迦勒祝福，将希伯仑给他为业。Then Joshua blessed Caleb son of Jephunneh and gave him Hebron as his inheritance.

¹⁴所以希伯仑作了基尼洗族耶孚尼的儿子迦勒的产业，直到今日，因为他专心跟从耶和华—以色列的　神。Therefore Hebron belongs to Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite as an inheritance to this day, because he wholly followed the LORD, the God of Israel.

¹⁵希伯仑从前名叫基列·亚巴；亚巴是亚衲族中最尊大的人。于是国中太平，没有争战了。(Hebron used to be called Kiriath-arba, after Arba, the greatest man among the Anakim.) Then the land had rest from war.

犹大的南界

¹犹大支派按着宗族拈阄所得之地是在尽南边，到以东的交界，向南直到寻的旷野。Now the allotment for the clans of the tribe of Judah extended to the border of Edom, to the Wilderness of Zin at the extreme southern boundary:

²他们的南界是从盐海的尽边，就是从朝南的海汊起，Their southern border started at the bay on the southern tip of the Salt Sea,

³通到亚克拉滨坡的南边，接连到寻，上到加低斯·巴尼亚的南边，又过希斯仑，上到亚达珥，绕到甲加，proceeded south of the Ascent of Akrabbim, continued on to Zin, went over to the south of Kadesh-barnea, ran past Hezron up to Addar, and curved toward Karka.

⁴接连到押们，通到埃及小河，直通到海为止。这就是他们的南界。It proceeded to Azmon, joined the Brook of Egypt, and ended at the Sea. This was their southern border.

东界和北界

⁵东界是从盐海南边到约旦河口。北界是从约旦河口的海汊起，The eastern border was the Salt Sea as far as the mouth of the Jordan. The northern border started from the bay of the sea at the mouth of the Jordan,

⁶上到伯·曷拉，过伯·亚拉巴的北边，上到流便之子波罕的磐石；went up to Beth-hoglah, proceeded north of Beth-arabah, and went up to the Stone of Bohan son of Reuben.

⁷从亚割谷往北，上到底璧，直向河南亚都冥坡对面的吉甲；又接连到隐·示麦泉，直通到隐·罗结，Then the border went up to Debir from the Valley of Achor, turning north to Gilgal, which faces the Ascent of Adummim south of the ravine. It continued along the waters of En-shemesh and came out at En-rogel.

⁸上到欣嫩子谷，贴近耶布斯的南界（耶布斯就是耶路撒冷）；又上到欣嫩谷西边的山顶，就是在利乏音谷极北的边界；From there the border went up the Valley of Ben-hinnom along the southern slope of the Jebusites (that is, Jerusalem) and ascended to the top of the hill that faces the Valley of Hinnom on the west, at the northern end of the Valley of Rephaim.

⁹又从山顶延到尼弗多亚的水源，通到以弗仑山的城邑，又延到巴拉（巴拉就是基列·耶琳）；From the hilltop the border curved to the spring of the Waters of Nephtoah, proceeded to the cities of Mount Ephron, and then bent around toward Baalah (that is, Kiriath-jearim).

¹⁰又从巴拉往西绕到西珥山，接连到耶琳山的北边（耶琳就是基撒仑）；又下到伯·示麦过亭纳，The border curled westward from Baalah to Mount Seir, ran along the northern slope of Mount Jearim (that is, Chesalon), went down to Beth-shemesh, and crossed to Timnah.

¹¹通到以革伦北边，延到施基仑，接连到巴拉山；又通到雅比聂，直通到海为止。Then it went out to the northern slope of Ekron, curved toward Shikkeron, proceeded to Mount Baalah, went on to Jabneel, and ended at the Sea.

西界

¹²西界就是大海和靠近大海之地。这是犹大人按着宗族所得之地四围的交界。And the western border was the coastline of the Great Sea. These are the boundaries around the clans of the descendants of Judah.

迦勒赶出亚衲族

¹³约书亚照耶和华所吩咐的，将犹大人中的一段地，就是基列·亚巴，分给耶孚尼的儿子迦勒。亚巴是亚衲族的始祖（基列·亚巴就是希伯仑）。According to the LORD’s command to him, Joshua gave Caleb son of Jephunneh a portion among the sons of Judah—Kiriath-arba, that is, Hebron. (Arba was the forefather of Anak.)

¹⁴迦勒就从那里赶出亚衲族的三个族长，就是示筛、亚希幔、挞买；And Caleb drove out from there the three sons of Anak—the descendants of Sheshai, Ahiman, and Talmai, the children of Anak.

¹⁵又从那里上去，攻击底璧的居民。（这底璧从前名叫基列·西弗。）From there he marched against the inhabitants of Debir (formerly known as Kiriath-sepher).

押撒和俄陀聂

¹⁶迦勒说：“谁能攻打基列·西弗将城夺取，我就把我女儿押撒给他为妻。”And Caleb said, “To the man who strikes down Kiriath-sepher and captures it, I will give my daughter Acsah in marriage.”

¹⁷迦勒兄弟基纳斯的儿子俄陀聂夺取了那城，迦勒就把女儿押撒给他为妻。So Othniel son of Caleb’s brother Kenaz captured the city, and Caleb gave his daughter Acsah to him in marriage.

¹⁸押撒过门的时候，劝丈夫向她父亲求一块田，押撒一下驴，迦勒问她说：“你要什么？”One day Acsah came to Othniel and urged him to ask her father for a field. When she got off her donkey, Caleb asked her, “What do you desire?”

¹⁹她说：“求你赐福给我，你既将我安置在南地，求你也给我水泉。”她父亲就把上泉下泉赐给她。“Give me a blessing,” she answered. “Since you have given me land in the Negev, give me springs of water as well.” So Caleb gave her both the upper and lower springs.

犹大尽南边的城邑

²¹犹大支派尽南边的城邑，与以东交界相近的，就是甲薛、以得、雅姑珥、These were the southernmost cities of the tribe of Judah in the Negev toward the border of Edom: Kabzeel, Eder, Jagur,

²²基拿、底摩拿、亚大达、Kinah, Dimonah, Adadah,

²³基低斯、夏琐、以提楠、Kedesh, Hazor, Ithnan,

²⁴西弗、提链、比亚绿、Ziph, Telem, Bealoth,

²⁵夏琐·哈大他、加略·希斯仑（加略·希斯仑就是夏琐）、Hazor-hadattah, Kerioth-hezron (that is, Hazor),

²⁶亚曼、示玛、摩拉大、Amam, Shema, Moladah,

²⁷哈萨·迦大、黑实门、伯·帕列、Hazar-gaddah, Heshmon, Beth-pelet,

²⁸哈萨·书亚、别是巴、比斯约他、Hazar-shual, Beersheba, Biziothiah,

高原的城邑

³³在高原有以实陶、琐拉、亚实拿、These were in the foothills: Eshtaol, Zorah, Ashnah,

³⁴撒挪亚、隐·干宁、他普亚、以楠、Zanoah, En-gannim, Tappuah, Enam,

³⁵耶末、亚杜兰、梭哥、亚西加、Jarmuth, Adullam, Socoh, Azekah,

³⁶沙拉音、亚底他音、基底拉、基底罗他音，共十四座城，还有属城的村庄。Shaaraim, Adithaim, and Gederah (or Gederothaim)—fourteen cities, along with their villages.

³⁷又有洗楠、哈大沙、麦大·迦得、Zenan, Hadashah, Migdal-gad,

³⁸底连、米斯巴、约帖、Dilan, Mizpeh, Joktheel,

³⁹拉吉、波斯加、伊矶伦、Lachish, Bozkath, Eglon,

⁴⁰迦本、拉幔、基提利、Cabbon, Lahmas, Chitlish,

⁴¹基低罗、伯·大衮、拿玛、玛基大，共十六座城，还有属城的村庄。Gederoth, Beth-dagon, Naamah, and Makkedah—sixteen cities, along with their villages.

⁴²又有立拿、以帖、亚珊、Libnah, Ether, Ashan,

⁴³益弗他、亚实拿、尼悉、Iphtah, Ashnah, Nezib,

⁴⁴基伊拉、亚革悉、玛利沙，共九座城，还有属城的村庄。Keilah, Achzib, and Mareshah—nine cities, along with their villages.

⁴⁵又有以革伦和属以革伦的镇市村庄；Ekron, with its towns and villages;

⁴⁶从以革伦直到海，一切靠近亚实突之地，并属其地的村庄。from Ekron to the sea, all the cities near Ashdod, along with their villages;

⁴⁷亚实突和属亚实突的镇市村庄；迦萨和属迦萨的镇市村庄；直到埃及小河，并大海和靠近大海之地。Ashdod, with its towns and villages; Gaza, with its towns and villages, as far as the Brook of Egypt and the coastline of the Great Sea.

山地的城邑

⁴⁸在山地有沙密、雅提珥、梭哥、These were in the hill country: Shamir, Jattir, Socoh,

⁴⁹大拿、基列·萨拿（基列·萨拿就是底璧）、Dannah, Kiriath-sannah (that is, Debir),

⁵⁰亚拿伯、以实提莫、亚念、Anab, Eshtemoh, Anim,

⁵¹歌珊、何伦、基罗，共十一座城，还有属城的村庄。Goshen, Holon, and Giloh—eleven cities, along with their villages.

⁵²又有亚拉、度玛、以珊、Arab, Dumah, Eshan,

⁵³雅农、伯·他普亚、亚非加、Janim, Beth-tappuah, Aphekah,

⁵⁴宏他、基列·亚巴（基列·亚巴就是希伯仑）、洗珥，共九座城，还有属城的村庄。Humtah, Kiriath-arba (that is, Hebron), and Zior—nine cities, along with their villages.

⁵⁵又有玛云、迦密、西弗、淤他、Maon, Carmel, Ziph, Juttah,

⁵⁶耶斯列、约甸、撒挪亚、Jezreel, Jokdeam, Zanoah,

⁵⁷该隐、基比亚、亭纳，共十座城，还有属城的村庄。Kain, Gibeah, and Timnah—ten cities, along with their villages.

⁵⁸又有哈忽、伯·夙、基突、Halhul, Beth-zur, Gedor,

⁵⁹玛腊、伯·亚诺、伊勒提君，共六座城，还有属城的村庄。Maarath, Beth-anoth, and Eltekon—six cities, along with their villages.

⁶⁰又有基列·巴力（基列·巴力就是基列·耶琳）、拉巴，共两座城，还有属城的村庄。Kiriath-baal (that is, Kiriath-jearim), and Rabbah—two cities, along with their villages.

旷野的城邑

⁶¹在旷野有伯·亚拉巴、密丁、西迦迦、These were in the wilderness: Beth-arabah, Middin, Secacah,

⁶²匿珊、盐城、隐·基底，共六座城，还有属城的村庄。Nibshan, the City of Salt, and En-gedi—six cities, along with their villages.

耶布斯人仍住耶路撒冷

⁶³至于住耶路撒冷的耶布斯人，犹大人不能把他们赶出去，耶布斯人却在耶路撒冷与犹大人同住，直到今日。But the descendants of Judah could not drive out the Jebusites living in Jerusalem. So to this day the Jebusites live there among the descendants of Judah.

下山遇见求助的父亲

³⁷第二天，他们下了山，就有许多人迎见耶稣。The next day, when they came down from the mountain, Jesus was met by a large crowd.

³⁸其中有一人喊叫说：“夫子！求你看顾我的儿子，因为他是我的独生子。Suddenly a man in the crowd cried out, “Teacher, I beg You to look at my son, for he is my only child.

³⁹他被鬼抓住就忽然喊叫；鬼又叫他抽风，口中流沫，并且重重地伤害他，难以离开他。A spirit keeps seizing him, and he screams abruptly. It throws him into convulsions so that he foams at the mouth. It keeps mauling him and rarely departs from him.

⁴⁰我求过你的门徒，把鬼赶出去，他们却是不能。”I begged Your disciples to drive it out, but they were unable.”

⁴¹耶稣说：“嗳！这又不信又悖谬的世代啊，我在你们这里，忍耐你们要到几时呢？将你的儿子带到这里来吧！”“O unbelieving and perverse generation!” Jesus replied. “How long must I remain with you and put up with you? Bring your son here.”

耶稣赶出污鬼

⁴²正来的时候，鬼把他摔倒，叫他重重地抽风。耶稣就斥责那污鬼，把孩子治好了，交给他父亲。Even while the boy was approaching, the demon slammed him to the ground in a convulsion. But Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, healed the boy, and gave him back to his father.

再次预言被交在人手里

⁴³众人都诧异　神的大能（大能：或译威荣）。耶稣所做的一切事，众人正希奇的时候，耶稣对门徒说：And they were all astonished at the greatness of God. While everyone was marveling at all that Jesus was doing, He said to His disciples,

⁴⁴“你们要把这些话存在耳中，因为人子将要被交在人手里。”“Let these words sink into your ears: The Son of Man is about to be delivered into the hands of men.”

⁴⁵他们不明白这话，意思乃是隐藏的，叫他们不能明白，他们也不敢问这话的意思。But they did not understand this statement. It was veiled from them so that they could not comprehend it, and they were afraid to ask Him about it.

谁将为大

⁴⁶门徒中间起了议论，谁将为大。Then an argument started among the disciples as to which of them would be the greatest.

⁴⁷耶稣看出他们心中的议论，就领一个小孩子来，叫他站在自己旁边，But Jesus, knowing the thoughts of their hearts, had a little child stand beside Him.

⁴⁸对他们说：“凡为我名接待这小孩子的，就是接待我；凡接待我的，就是接待那差我来的。你们中间最小的，他便为大。”And He said to them, “Whoever welcomes this little child in My name welcomes Me, and whoever welcomes Me welcomes the One who sent Me. For whoever is the least among all of you, he is the greatest.”

不要禁止他

⁴⁹约翰说：“夫子，我们看见一个人奉你的名赶鬼，我们就禁止他，因为他不与我们一同跟从你。”“Master,” said John, “we saw someone driving out demons in Your name, and we tried to stop him, because he does not accompany us.”

⁵⁰耶稣说：“不要禁止他；因为不敌挡你们的，就是帮助你们的。”“Do not stop him,” Jesus replied, “for whoever is not against you is for you.”
