摩西在摩押地讲明律法

¹以下所记的是摩西在约旦河东的旷野、疏弗对面的亚拉巴—就是巴兰、陀弗、拉班、哈洗录、底撒哈中间—向以色列众人所说的话。These are the words that Moses spoke to all Israel in the wilderness east of the Jordan—in the Arabah opposite Suph—between Paran and Tophel, Laban, Hazeroth, and Dizahab.

²（从何烈山经过西珥山到加低斯·巴尼亚有十一天的路程。）It is an eleven-day journey from Horeb to Kadesh-barnea by way of Mount Seir.

³出埃及第四十年十一月初一日，摩西照耶和华借着他所吩咐以色列人的话都晓谕他们。In the fortieth year, on the first day of the eleventh month, Moses proclaimed to the Israelites all that the LORD had commanded him concerning them.

⁴那时，他已经击杀了住希实本的亚摩利王西宏和住以得来、亚斯他录的巴珊王噩。This was after he had defeated Sihon king of the Amorites, who lived in Heshbon, and then at Edrei had defeated Og king of Bashan, who lived in Ashtaroth.

⁵摩西在约旦河东的摩押地讲律法说：On the east side of the Jordan in the land of Moab, Moses began to explain this law, saying:

离开何烈山，往应许之地

⁶“耶和华—我们的　神在何烈山晓谕我们说：你们在这山上住的日子够了；The LORD our God said to us at Horeb: “You have stayed at this mountain long enough.

⁷要起行转到亚摩利人的山地和靠近这山地的各处，就是亚拉巴、山地、高原、南地，沿海一带迦南人的地，并黎巴嫩山又到幼发拉底大河。Resume your journey and go to the hill country of the Amorites; go to all the neighboring peoples in the Arabah, in the hill country, in the foothills, in the Negev, and along the seacoast to the land of the Canaanites and to Lebanon, as far as the great River Euphrates.

⁸如今我将这地摆在你们面前；你们要进去得这地，就是耶和华向你们列祖亚伯拉罕、以撒、雅各起誓应许赐给他们和他们后裔为业之地。”See, I have placed the land before you. Enter and possess the land that the LORD swore He would give to your fathers Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and to their descendants after them.”

设立首领和审判官

⁹“那时，我对你们说：‘管理你们的重任，我独自担当不起。At that time I said to you, “I cannot carry the burden for you alone.

¹⁰耶和华—你们的　神使你们多起来。看哪，你们今日像天上的星那样多。The LORD your God has multiplied you, so that today you are as numerous as the stars in the sky.

¹¹惟愿耶和华—你们列祖的　神使你们比如今更多千倍，照他所应许你们的话赐福与你们。May the LORD, the God of your fathers, increase you a thousand times over and bless you as He has promised.

¹²但你们的麻烦，和管理你们的重任，并你们的争讼，我独自一人怎能担当得起呢？But how can I bear your troubles, burdens, and disputes all by myself?

¹³你们要按着各支派选举有智慧、有见识、为众人所认识的，我立他们为你们的首领。’Choose for yourselves wise, understanding, and respected men from each of your tribes, and I will appoint them as your leaders.”

¹⁴你们回答我说：‘照你所说的行了为妙。’And you answered me and said, “What you propose to do is good.”

¹⁵我便将你们各支派的首领，有智慧、为众人所认识的，照你们的支派，立他们为官长、千夫长、百夫长、五十夫长、十夫长，管理你们。So I took the leaders of your tribes, wise and respected men, and appointed them as leaders over you—as commanders of thousands, of hundreds, of fifties, and of tens, and as officers for your tribes.

¹⁶“当时，我嘱咐你们的审判官说：‘你们听讼，无论是弟兄彼此争讼，是与同居的外人争讼，都要按公义判断。At that time I charged your judges: “Hear the disputes between your brothers, and judge fairly between a man and his brother or a foreign resident.

¹⁷审判的时候，不可看人的外貌；听讼不可分贵贱，不可惧怕人，因为审判是属乎　神的。若有难断的案件，可以呈到我这里，我就判断。’Show no partiality in judging; hear both small and great alike. Do not be intimidated by anyone, for judgment belongs to God. And bring to me any case too difficult for you, and I will hear it.”

¹⁸那时，我将你们所当行的事都吩咐你们了。”And at that time I commanded you all the things you were to do.

到加低斯‧巴尼亚，派人窥探

¹⁹“我们照着耶和华—我们　神所吩咐的从何烈山起行，经过你们所看见那大而可怕的旷野，往亚摩利人的山地去，到了加低斯·巴尼亚。And just as the LORD our God had commanded us, we set out from Horeb and went toward the hill country of the Amorites, through all the vast and terrifying wilderness you have seen. When we reached Kadesh-barnea,

²⁰我对你们说：‘你们已经到了耶和华—我们　神所赐给我们的亚摩利人之山地。I said: “You have reached the hill country of the Amorites, which the LORD our God is giving us.

²¹看哪，耶和华—你的　神已将那地摆在你面前，你要照耶和华—你列祖的　神所说的上去得那地为业；不要惧怕，也不要惊惶。’See, the LORD your God has placed the land before you. Go up and take possession of it as the LORD, the God of your fathers, has told you. Do not be afraid or discouraged.”

²²你们都就近我来说：‘我们要先打发人去，为我们窥探那地，将我们上去该走何道，必进何城，都回报我们。’Then all of you approached me and said, “Let us send men ahead of us to search out the land and bring us word of what route to follow and which cities to enter.”

²³这话我以为美，就从你们中间选了十二个人，每支派一人。The plan seemed good to me, so I selected twelve men from among you, one from each tribe.

²⁴于是他们起身上山地去，到以实各谷，窥探那地。They left and went up into the hill country, and came to the Valley of Eshcol and spied out the land.

²⁵他们手里拿着那地的果子下来，到我们那里，回报说：‘耶和华—我们的　神所赐给我们的是美地。’They took some of the fruit of the land in their hands, carried it down to us, and brought us word: “It is a good land that the LORD our God is giving us.”

百姓不肯上去，发怨言

²⁶“你们却不肯上去，竟违背了耶和华—你们　神的命令，But you were unwilling to go up; you rebelled against the command of the LORD your God.

²⁷在帐棚内发怨言说：‘耶和华因为恨我们，所以将我们从埃及地领出来，要交在亚摩利人手中，除灭我们。You grumbled in your tents and said, “Because the LORD hates us, He has brought us out of the land of Egypt to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites to be annihilated.

²⁸我们上哪里去呢？我们的弟兄使我们的心消化，说那地的民比我们又大又高，城邑又广大又坚固，高得顶天，并且我们在那里看见亚衲族的人。’Where can we go? Our brothers have made our hearts melt, saying: ‘The people are larger and taller than we are; the cities are large, with walls up to the heavens. We even saw the descendants of the Anakim there.’”

²⁹我就对你们说：‘不要惊恐，也不要怕他们。So I said to you: “Do not be terrified or afraid of them!

³⁰在你们前面行的耶和华—你们的　神必为你们争战，正如他在埃及和旷野，在你们眼前所行的一样。The LORD your God, who goes before you, will fight for you, just as you saw Him do for you in Egypt

³¹你们在旷野所行的路上，也曾见耶和华—你们的　神抚养你们，如同人抚养儿子一般，直等你们来到这地方。’and in the wilderness, where the LORD your God carried you, as a man carries his son, all the way by which you traveled until you reached this place.”

³²你们在这事上却不信耶和华—你们的　神。But in spite of all this, you did not trust the LORD your God,

³³他在路上，在你们前面行，为你们找安营的地方；夜间在火柱里，日间在云柱里，指示你们所当行的路。”who went before you on the journey, in the fire by night and in the cloud by day, to seek out a place for you to camp and to show you the road to travel.

那一代人不得进美地

³⁴“耶和华听见你们这话，就发怒，起誓说：When the LORD heard your words, He grew angry and swore an oath, saying,

³⁵‘这恶世代的人，连一个也不得见我起誓应许赐给你们列祖的美地；“Not one of the men of this evil generation shall see the good land I swore to give your fathers,

³⁶惟有耶孚尼的儿子迦勒必得看见，并且我要将他所踏过的地赐给他和他的子孙，因为他专心跟从我。’except Caleb son of Jephunneh. He will see it, and I will give him and his descendants the land on which he has set foot, because he followed the LORD wholeheartedly.”

³⁷耶和华为你们的缘故也向我发怒，说：‘你必不得进入那地。The LORD was also angry with me on your account, and He said, “Not even you shall enter the land.

³⁸伺候你、嫩的儿子约书亚，他必得进入那地；你要勉励他，因为他要使以色列人承受那地为业。Joshua son of Nun, who stands before you, will enter it. Encourage him, for he will enable Israel to inherit the land.

³⁹并且你们的妇人孩子，就是你们所说、必被掳掠的，和今日不知善恶的儿女，必进入那地。我要将那地赐给他们，他们必得为业。And the little ones you said would become captives—your children who on that day did not know good from evil—will enter the land that I will give them, and they will possess it.

⁴⁰至于你们，要转回，从红海的路往旷野去。’But you are to turn back and head for the wilderness along the route to the Red Sea.”

擅自上山，被亚摩利人打败

⁴¹“那时，你们回答我说：‘我们得罪了耶和华，情愿照耶和华—我们　神一切所吩咐的上去争战。’于是你们各人带着兵器，争先上山地去了。“We have sinned against the LORD,” you replied. “We will go up and fight, as the LORD our God has commanded us.” Then each of you put on his weapons of war, thinking it easy to go up into the hill country.

⁴²耶和华吩咐我说：‘你对他们说：不要上去，也不要争战；因我不在你们中间，恐怕你们被仇敌杀败了。’But the LORD said to me, “Tell them not to go up and fight, for I am not with you to keep you from defeat by your enemies.”

⁴³我就告诉了你们，你们却不听从，竟违背耶和华的命令，擅自上山地去了。So I spoke to you, but you would not listen. You rebelled against the command of the LORD and presumptuously went up into the hill country.

⁴⁴住那山地的亚摩利人就出来攻击你们，追赶你们，如蜂拥一般，在西珥杀退你们，直到何珥玛。Then the Amorites who lived in the hills came out against you and chased you like a swarm of bees. They routed you from Seir all the way to Hormah.

⁴⁵你们便回来，在耶和华面前哭号；耶和华却不听你们的声音，也不向你们侧耳。And you returned and wept before the LORD, but He would not listen to your voice or give ear to you.

⁴⁶于是你们在加低斯住了许多日子。”For this reason you stayed in Kadesh for a long time—a very long time.

不可与以扫的子孙争战

¹“此后，我们转回，从红海的路往旷野去，是照耶和华所吩咐我的。我们在西珥山绕行了许多日子。Then we turned back and headed for the wilderness by way of the Red Sea, as the LORD had instructed me, and for many days we wandered around Mount Seir.

²耶和华对我说：At this time the LORD said to me,

³‘你们绕行这山的日子够了，要转向北去。“You have been wandering around this hill country long enough; turn to the north

⁴你吩咐百姓说：你们弟兄以扫的子孙住在西珥，你们要经过他们的境界。他们必惧怕你们，所以你们要分外谨慎。and command the people: ‘You will pass through the territory of your brothers, the descendants of Esau, who live in Seir. They will be afraid of you, so you must be very careful.

⁵不可与他们争战；他们的地，连脚掌可踏之处，我都不给你们，因我已将西珥山赐给以扫为业。Do not provoke them, for I will not give you any of their land, not even a footprint, because I have given Mount Seir to Esau as his possession.

⁶你们要用钱向他们买粮吃，也要用钱向他们买水喝。You are to pay them in silver for the food you eat and the water you drink.’”

⁷因为耶和华—你的　神在你手里所办的一切事上已赐福与你。你走这大旷野，他都知道了。这四十年，耶和华—你的　神常与你同在，故此你一无所缺。’Indeed, the LORD your God has blessed you in all the work of your hands. He has watched over your journey through this vast wilderness. The LORD your God has been with you these forty years, and you have lacked nothing.

不可扰害摩押人

⁸“于是，我们离了我们弟兄以扫子孙所住的西珥，从亚拉巴的路，经过以拉他、以旬·迦别，转向摩押旷野的路去。So we passed by our brothers, the descendants of Esau, who live in Seir. We turned away from the Arabah road, which comes up from Elath and Ezion-geber, and traveled along the road of the Wilderness of Moab.

⁹耶和华吩咐我说：‘不可扰害摩押人，也不可与他们争战。他们的地，我不赐给你为业，因我已将亚珥赐给罗得的子孙为业。’Then the LORD said to me, “Do not harass the Moabites or provoke them to war, for I will not give you any of their land, because I have given Ar to the descendants of Lot as their possession.”

¹⁰（先前，有以米人住在那里，民数众多，身体高大，像亚衲人一样。(The Emites used to live there, a people great and many, as tall as the Anakites.

¹¹这以米人像亚衲人；也算为利乏音人；摩押人称他们为以米人。Like the Anakites, they were also regarded as Rephaim, though the Moabites called them Emites.

¹²先前，何利人也住在西珥，但以扫的子孙将他们除灭，得了他们的地，接着居住，就如以色列在耶和华赐给他为业之地所行的一样。）The Horites used to live in Seir, but the descendants of Esau drove them out. They destroyed the Horites from before them and settled in their place, just as Israel did in the land that the LORD gave them as their possession.)

过撒烈溪：旧世代已经灭尽

¹³现在，起来过撒烈溪！于是我们过了撒烈溪。“Now arise and cross over the Brook of Zered.” So we crossed over the Brook of Zered.

¹⁴自从离开加低斯·巴尼亚，到过了撒烈溪的时候，共有三十八年，等那世代的兵丁都从营中灭尽，正如耶和华向他们所起的誓。The time we spent traveling from Kadesh-barnea until we crossed over the Brook of Zered was thirty-eight years, until that entire generation of fighting men had perished from the camp, as the LORD had sworn to them.

¹⁵耶和华的手也攻击他们，将他们从营中除灭，直到灭尽。Indeed, the LORD’s hand was against them, to eliminate them from the camp, until they had all perished.

不可扰害亚扪人

¹⁶“兵丁从民中都灭尽死亡以后，Now when all the fighting men among the people had died,

¹⁷耶和华吩咐我说：the LORD said to me,

¹⁸‘你今天要从摩押的境界亚珥经过，“Today you are going to cross the border of Moab at Ar.

¹⁹走近亚扪人之地，不可扰害他们，也不可与他们争战。亚扪人的地，我不赐给你们为业，因我已将那地赐给罗得的子孙为业。’But when you get close to the Ammonites, do not harass them or provoke them, for I will not give you any of the land of the Ammonites. I have given it to the descendants of Lot as their possession.”

²⁰（那地也算为利乏音人之地，先前利乏音人住在那里，亚扪人称他们为散送冥。(That too was regarded as the land of the Rephaim, who used to live there, though the Ammonites called them Zamzummites.

²¹那民众多，身体高大，像亚衲人一样，但耶和华从亚扪人面前除灭他们，亚扪人就得了他们的地，接着居住。They were a people great and many, as tall as the Anakites. But the LORD destroyed them from before the Ammonites, who drove them out and settled in their place,

²²正如耶和华从前为住西珥的以扫子孙将何利人从他们面前除灭、他们得了何利人的地、接着居住一样，直到今日。just as He had done for the descendants of Esau who lived in Seir, when He destroyed the Horites from before them. They drove them out and have lived in their place to this day.

²³从迦斐托出来的迦斐托人将先前住在乡村直到迦萨的亚卫人除灭，接着居住。）And the Avvim, who lived in villages as far as Gaza, were destroyed by the Caphtorites, who came out of Caphtor and settled in their place.)

兵丁戏弄耶稣

¹⁶兵丁把耶稣带进衙门院里，叫齐了全营的兵。Then the soldiers led Jesus away into the palace (that is, the Praetorium) and called the whole company together.

¹⁷他们给他穿上紫袍，又用荆棘编做冠冕给他戴上，They dressed Him in a purple robe, twisted together a crown of thorns, and set it on His head.

¹⁸就庆贺他说：“恭喜，犹太人的王啊！”And they began to salute Him: “Hail, King of the Jews!”

¹⁹又拿一根苇子打他的头，吐唾沫在他脸上，屈膝拜他。They kept striking His head with a staff and spitting on Him. And they knelt down and bowed before Him.

²⁰戏弄完了，就给他脱了紫袍，仍穿上他自己的衣服，带他出去，要钉十字架。After they had mocked Him, they removed the purple robe and put His own clothes back on Him. Then they led Him out to crucify Him.

西门替耶稣背十字架

²¹有一个古利奈人西门，就是亚历山大和鲁孚的父亲，从乡下来，经过那地方，他们就勉强他同去，好背着耶稣的十字架。Now Simon of Cyrene, the father of Alexander and Rufus, was passing by on his way in from the country, and the soldiers forced him to carry the cross of Jesus.

在各各他被钉十字架

²²他们带耶稣到了各各他地方（各各他翻出来就是髑髅地），They brought Jesus to a place called Golgotha, which means The Place of the Skull.

²³拿没药调和的酒给耶稣，他却不受。There they offered Him wine mixed with myrrh, but He did not take it.

²⁴于是将他钉在十字架上，拈阄分他的衣服，看是谁得什么。And they crucified Him. They also divided His garments by casting lots to decide what each of them would take.

²⁵钉他在十字架上是巳初的时候。It was the third hour when they crucified Him.

²⁶在上面有他的罪状，写的是：“犹太人的王。”And the charge inscribed against Him read: THE KING OF THE JEWS.

²⁷他们又把两个强盗和他同钉十字架，一个在右边，一个在左边。（有古卷加：Along with Jesus, they crucified two robbers, one on His right and one on His left.

众人讥诮耶稣

²⁹从那里经过的人辱骂他，摇着头说：“咳！你这拆毁圣殿、三日又建造起来的，And those who passed by heaped abuse on Him, shaking their heads and saying, “Aha! You who are going to destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days,

³⁰可以救自己，从十字架上下来吧！”come down from the cross and save Yourself!”

³¹祭司长和文士也是这样戏弄他，彼此说：“他救了别人，不能救自己。In the same way, the chief priests and scribes mocked Him among themselves, saying, “He saved others, but He cannot save Himself!

³²以色列的王基督，现在可以从十字架上下来，叫我们看见，就信了。”那和他同钉的人也是讥诮他。Let the Christ, the King of Israel, come down now from the cross, so that we may see and believe!” And even those who were crucified with Him berated Him.

遍地黑暗，耶稣断气

³³从午正到申初，遍地都黑暗了。From the sixth hour until the ninth hour darkness came over all the land.

³⁴申初的时候，耶稣大声喊着说：“以罗伊！以罗伊！拉马撒巴各大尼？”（翻出来就是：我的　神！我的　神！为什么离弃我？）At the ninth hour, Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?” which means, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”

³⁵旁边站着的人，有的听见就说：“看哪，他叫以利亚呢！”When some of those standing nearby heard this, they said, “Behold, He is calling Elijah.”

³⁶有一个人跑去，把海绒蘸满了醋，绑在苇子上，送给他喝，说：“且等着，看以利亚来不来把他取下。”And someone ran and filled a sponge with sour wine. He put it on a reed and held it up for Jesus to drink, saying, “Leave Him alone. Let us see if Elijah comes to take Him down.”

³⁷耶稣大声喊叫，气就断了。But Jesus let out a loud cry and breathed His last.

³⁸殿里的幔子从上到下裂为两半。And the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.

³⁹对面站着的百夫长看见耶稣这样喊叫（有古卷没有喊叫二字）断气，就说：“这人真是　神的儿子！”When the centurion standing there in front of Jesus saw how He had breathed His last, he said, “Truly this man was the Son of God!”

妇女们远远观看

⁴⁰还有些妇女远远地观看；内中有抹大拉的马利亚，又有小雅各和约西的母亲马利亚，并有撒罗米，And there were also women watching from a distance. Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James the younger and of Joses, and Salome.

⁴¹就是耶稣在加利利的时候，跟随他、服事他的那些人，还有同耶稣上耶路撒冷的好些妇女在那里观看。These women had followed Jesus and ministered to Him while He was in Galilee, and there were many other women who had come up to Jerusalem with Him.

约瑟安葬耶稣

⁴²到了晚上，因为这是预备日，就是安息日的前一日，Now it was already evening. Since it was Preparation Day (that is, the day before the Sabbath),

⁴³有亚利马太的约瑟前来，他是尊贵的议士，也是等候　神国的。他放胆进去见彼拉多，求耶稣的身体；Joseph of Arimathea, a prominent Council member who himself was waiting for the kingdom of God, boldly went to Pilate to ask for the body of Jesus.

⁴⁴彼拉多诧异耶稣已经死了，便叫百夫长来，问他耶稣死了久不久。Pilate was surprised to hear that Jesus was already dead, so he summoned the centurion to ask if this was so.

⁴⁵既从百夫长得知实情，就把耶稣的尸首赐给约瑟。When Pilate had confirmed it with the centurion, he granted the body to Joseph.

⁴⁶约瑟买了细麻布，把耶稣取下来，用细麻布裹好，安放在磐石中凿出来的坟墓里，又滚过一块石头来挡住墓门。So Joseph bought a linen cloth, took down the body of Jesus, wrapped it in the cloth, and placed it in a tomb that had been cut out of the rock. Then he rolled a stone against the entrance to the tomb.

⁴⁷抹大拉的马利亚和约西的母亲马利亚都看见安放他的地方。Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joseph saw where His body was placed.
