四王与五王交战

¹当暗拉非作示拿王，亚略作以拉撒王，基大老玛作以拦王，提达作戈印王的时候，In those days Amraphel king of Shinar, Arioch king of Ellasar, Chedorlaomer king of Elam, and Tidal king of Goiim

²他们都攻打所多玛王比拉、蛾摩拉王比沙、押玛王示纳、洗扁王善以别，和比拉王；比拉就是琐珥。went to war against Bera king of Sodom, Birsha king of Gomorrah, Shinab king of Admah, Shemeber king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela (that is, Zoar).

³这五王都在西订谷会合；西订谷就是盐海。The latter five came as allies to the Valley of Siddim (that is, the Salt Sea).

⁴他们已经事奉基大老玛十二年，到十三年就背叛了。For twelve years they had been subject to Chedorlaomer, but in the thirteenth year they rebelled.

⁵十四年，基大老玛和同盟的王都来在亚特律·加宁，杀败了利乏音人，在哈麦杀败了苏西人，在沙微·基列亭杀败了以米人，In the fourteenth year, Chedorlaomer and the kings allied with him went out and defeated the Rephaites in Ashteroth-karnaim, the Zuzites in Ham, the Emites in Shaveh-kiriathaim,

⁶在何利人的西珥山杀败了何利人，一直杀到靠近旷野的伊勒·巴兰。and the Horites in the area of Mount Seir, as far as El-paran, which is near the desert.

⁷他们回到安·密巴，就是加低斯，杀败了亚玛力全地的人，以及住在哈洗逊·他玛的亚摩利人。Then they turned back to invade En-mishpat (that is, Kadesh), and they conquered the whole territory of the Amalekites, as well as the Amorites who lived in Hazazon-tamar.

⁸于是所多玛王、蛾摩拉王、押玛王、洗扁王，和比拉王（比拉就是琐珥）都出来，在西订谷摆阵，与他们交战，Then the king of Sodom, the king of Gomorrah, the king of Admah, the king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela (that is, Zoar) marched out and arrayed themselves for battle in the Valley of Siddim

⁹就是与以拦王基大老玛、戈印王提达、示拿王暗拉非、以拉撒王亚略交战；乃是四王与五王交战。against Chedorlaomer king of Elam, Tidal king of Goiim, Amraphel king of Shinar, and Arioch king of Ellasar—four kings against five.

¹⁰西订谷有许多石漆坑。所多玛王和蛾摩拉王逃跑，有掉在坑里的，其余的人都往山上逃跑。Now the Valley of Siddim was full of tar pits, and as the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah fled, some men fell into the pits, but the survivors fled to the hill country.

¹¹四王就把所多玛和蛾摩拉所有的财物，并一切的粮食都掳掠去了；The four kings seized all the goods of Sodom and Gomorrah and all their food, and they went on their way.

罗得被掳

¹²又把亚伯兰的侄儿罗得和罗得的财物掳掠去了。当时罗得正住在所多玛。They also carried off Abram’s nephew Lot and his possessions, since Lot was living in Sodom.

亚伯兰救回罗得

¹³有一个逃出来的人告诉希伯来人亚伯兰；亚伯兰正住在亚摩利人幔利的橡树那里。幔利和以实各并亚乃都是弟兄，曾与亚伯兰联盟。Then an escapee came and reported this to Abram the Hebrew. Now Abram was living near the Oaks of Mamre the Amorite, a brother of Eshcol and Aner, all of whom were bound by treaty to Abram.

¹⁴亚伯兰听见他侄儿被掳去，就率领他家里生养的精练壮丁三百一十八人，直追到但，And when Abram heard that his relative had been captured, he mobilized the 318 trained men born in his household, and they set out in pursuit as far as Dan.

¹⁵便在夜间，自己同仆人分队杀败敌人，又追到大马士革左边的何把，During the night, Abram divided his forces and routed Chedorlaomer’s army, pursuing them as far as Hobah, north of Damascus.

¹⁶将被掳掠的一切财物夺回来，连他侄儿罗得和他的财物，以及妇女、人民也都夺回来。He retrieved all the goods, as well as his relative Lot and his possessions, together with the women and the rest of the people.

所多玛王出迎，麦基洗德祝福

¹⁷亚伯兰杀败基大老玛和与他同盟的王回来的时候，所多玛王出来，在沙微谷迎接他；沙微谷就是王谷。After Abram returned from defeating Chedorlaomer and the kings allied with him, the king of Sodom went out to meet him in the Valley of Shaveh (that is, the King’s Valley).

¹⁸又有撒冷王麦基洗德带着饼和酒出来迎接；他是至高　神的祭司。Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine—since he was priest of God Most High—

¹⁹他为亚伯兰祝福，说：“愿天地的主、至高的　神赐福与亚伯兰！and he blessed Abram and said: “Blessed be Abram by God Most High, Creator of heaven and earth,

²⁰至高的　神把敌人交在你手里，是应当称颂的！”亚伯兰就把所得的拿出十分之一来，给麦基洗德。and blessed be God Most High, who has delivered your enemies into your hand.” Then Abram gave Melchizedek a tenth of everything.

不拿所多玛王的东西

²¹所多玛王对亚伯兰说：“你把人口给我，财物你自己拿去吧！”The king of Sodom said to Abram, “Give me the people, but take the goods for yourself.”

²²亚伯兰对所多玛王说：“我已经向天地的主—至高的　神耶和华起誓：But Abram replied to the king of Sodom, “I have raised my hand to the LORD God Most High, Creator of heaven and earth,

²³凡是你的东西，就是一根线、一根鞋带，我都不拿，免得你说：‘我使亚伯兰富足！’that I will not accept even a thread, or a strap of a sandal, or anything that belongs to you, lest you should say, ‘I have made Abram rich.’

²⁴只有仆人所吃的，并与我同行的亚乃、以实各、幔利所应得的分，可以任凭他们拿去。”I will accept nothing but what my men have eaten and the share for the men who went with me—Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre. They may take their portion.”

我是你的盾牌

¹这事以后，耶和华在异象中有话对亚伯兰说：“亚伯兰，你不要惧怕！我是你的盾牌，必大大地赏赐你。”After these events, the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision: “Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your very great reward.”

³亚伯兰又说：“你没有给我儿子；那生在我家中的人就是我的后嗣。”Abram continued, “Behold, You have given me no offspring, so a servant in my household will be my heir.”

⁴耶和华又有话对他说：“这人必不成为你的后嗣；你本身所生的才成为你的后嗣。”Then the word of the LORD came to Abram, saying, “This one will not be your heir, but one who comes from your own body will be your heir.”

⁵于是领他走到外边，说：“你向天观看，数算众星，能数得过来吗？”又对他说：“你的后裔将要如此。”And the LORD took him outside and said, “Now look to the heavens and count the stars, if you are able.” Then He told him, “So shall your offspring be.”

应许赐地，劈开牲畜立约

⁷耶和华又对他说：“我是耶和华，曾领你出了迦勒底的吾珥，为要将这地赐你为业。”The LORD also told him, “I am the LORD, who brought you out of Ur of the Chaldeans to give you this land to possess.”

⁸亚伯兰说：“主耶和华啊，我怎能知道必得这地为业呢？”But Abram replied, “Lord GOD, how can I know that I will possess it?”

⁹他说：“你为我取一只三年的母牛，一只三年的母山羊，一只三年的公绵羊，一只斑鸠，一只雏鸽。”And the LORD said to him, “Bring Me a heifer, a goat, and a ram, each three years old, along with a turtledove and a young pigeon.”

¹⁰亚伯兰就取了这些来，每样劈开，分成两半，一半对着一半地摆列，只有鸟没有劈开。So Abram brought all these to Him, split each of them down the middle, and laid the halves opposite each other. The birds, however, he did not cut in half.

¹¹有鸷鸟下来，落在那死畜的肉上，亚伯兰就把它吓飞了。And the birds of prey descended on the carcasses, but Abram drove them away.

沉睡中得知后裔要寄居外地

¹²日头正落的时候，亚伯兰沉沉地睡了；忽然有惊人的大黑暗落在他身上。As the sun was setting, Abram fell into a deep sleep, and suddenly great terror and darkness overwhelmed him.

¹³耶和华对亚伯兰说：“你要的确知道，你的后裔必寄居别人的地，又服事那地的人；那地的人要苦待他们四百年。Then the LORD said to Abram, “Know for certain that your descendants will be strangers in a land that is not their own, and they will be enslaved and mistreated four hundred years.

¹⁴并且他们所要服事的那国，我要惩罚，后来他们必带着许多财物从那里出来。But I will judge the nation they serve as slaves, and afterward they will depart with many possessions.

¹⁵但你要享大寿数，平平安安地归到你列祖那里，被人埋葬。You, however, will go to your fathers in peace and be buried at a ripe old age.

¹⁶到了第四代，他们必回到此地，因为亚摩利人的罪孽还没有满盈。”In the fourth generation your descendants will return here, for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet complete.”

冒烟的炉和烧着的火把

¹⁷日落天黑，不料有冒烟的炉并烧着的火把从那些肉块中经过。When the sun had set and darkness had fallen, behold, a smoking firepot and a flaming torch appeared and passed between the halves of the carcasses.

撒莱把夏甲给亚伯兰

¹亚伯兰的妻子撒莱不给他生儿女。撒莱有一个使女，名叫夏甲，是埃及人。Now Abram’s wife Sarai had borne him no children, but she had an Egyptian maidservant named Hagar.

²撒莱对亚伯兰说：“耶和华使我不能生育。求你和我的使女同房，或者我可以因她得孩子（得孩子：原文是被建立）”。亚伯兰听从了撒莱的话。So Sarai said to Abram, “Look now, the LORD has prevented me from bearing children. Please go to my maidservant; perhaps I can build a family by her.” And Abram listened to the voice of Sarai.

³于是亚伯兰的妻子撒莱将使女埃及人夏甲给了丈夫为妾；那时亚伯兰在迦南已经住了十年。So after he had lived in Canaan for ten years, his wife Sarai took her Egyptian maidservant Hagar and gave her to Abram to be his wife.

⁴亚伯兰与夏甲同房，夏甲就怀了孕；她见自己有孕，就小看她的主母。And he slept with Hagar, and she conceived. But when Hagar realized that she was pregnant, she began to despise her mistress.

⁵撒莱对亚伯兰说：“我因你受屈。我将我的使女放在你怀中，她见自己有了孕，就小看我。愿耶和华在你我中间判断。”Then Sarai said to Abram, “May the wrong done to me be upon you! I delivered my servant into your arms, and ever since she saw that she was pregnant, she has treated me with contempt. May the LORD judge between you and me.”

⁶亚伯兰对撒莱说：“使女在你手下，你可以随意待她。”撒莱苦待她，她就从撒莱面前逃走了。“Here,” said Abram, “your servant is in your hands. Do whatever you want with her.” Then Sarai treated Hagar so harshly that she fled from her.

耶和华的使者遇见夏甲

⁷耶和华的使者在旷野书珥路上的水泉旁遇见她，Now the angel of the LORD found Hagar by a spring of water in the desert—the spring along the road to Shur.

⁸对她说：“撒莱的使女夏甲，你从哪里来？要往哪里去？”夏甲说：“我从我的主母撒莱面前逃出来。”“Hagar, servant of Sarai,” he said, “where have you come from, and where are you going?” “I am running away from my mistress Sarai,” she replied.

⁹耶和华的使者对她说：“你回到你主母那里，服在她手下”；So the angel of the LORD told her, “Return to your mistress and submit to her authority.”

¹⁰又说：“我必使你的后裔极其繁多，甚至不可胜数”；Then the angel added, “I will greatly multiply your offspring so that they will be too numerous to count.”

¹¹并说：“你如今怀孕要生一个儿子，可以给他起名叫以实玛利（就是神听见的意思），因为耶和华听见了你的苦情。The angel of the LORD proceeded: “Behold, you have conceived and will bear a son. And you shall name him Ishmael, for the LORD has heard your cry of affliction.

¹²他为人必像野驴。他的手要攻打人，人的手也要攻打他；他必住在众弟兄的东边。”He will be a wild donkey of a man, and his hand will be against everyone, and everyone’s hand against him; he will live in hostility toward all his brothers.”

¹³夏甲就称那对她说话的耶和华为“看顾人的　神”。因而说：“在这里我也看见那看顾我的吗？”So Hagar gave this name to the LORD who had spoken to her: “You are the God who sees me,” for she said, “Here I have seen the One who sees me!”

以实玛利出生

¹⁵后来夏甲给亚伯兰生了一个儿子；亚伯兰给他起名叫以实玛利。And Hagar bore Abram a son, and Abram gave the name Ishmael to the son she had borne.

¹⁶夏甲给亚伯兰生以实玛利的时候，亚伯兰年八十六岁。Abram was eighty-six years old when Hagar bore Ishmael to him.

来成全律法

¹⁷“莫想我来要废掉律法和先知。我来不是要废掉，乃是要成全。Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets. I have not come to abolish them, but to fulfill them.

¹⁸我实在告诉你们，就是到天地都废去了，律法的一点一画也不能废去，都要成全。For I tell you truly, until heaven and earth pass away, not a single jot, not a stroke of a pen, will disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.

¹⁹所以，无论何人废掉这诫命中最小的一条，又教训人这样做，他在天国要称为最小的。但无论何人遵行这诫命，又教训人遵行，他在天国要称为大的。So then, whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do likewise will be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever practices and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

不可杀人，不可动怒

²¹“你们听见有吩咐古人的话，说：‘不可杀人’；又说：‘凡杀人的难免受审判。’You have heard that it was said to the ancients, ‘Do not murder’ and ‘Anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.’

先去同弟兄和好

²³所以，你在祭坛上献礼物的时候，若想起弟兄向你怀怨，So if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you,

²⁴就把礼物留在坛前，先去同弟兄和好，然后来献礼物。leave your gift there before the altar. First go and be reconciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift.

²⁵你同告你的对头还在路上，就赶紧与他和息，恐怕他把你送给审判官，审判官交付衙役，你就下在监里了。Reconcile quickly with your adversary, while you are still on the way to court. Otherwise, he may hand you over to the judge, and the judge may hand you over to the officer, and you may be thrown into prison.

²⁶我实在告诉你，若有一文钱没有还清，你断不能从那里出来。”Truly I tell you, you will not get out until you have paid the last penny.

不可奸淫

²⁷“你们听见有话说：‘不可奸淫。’You have heard that it was said, ‘Do not commit adultery.’

²⁸只是我告诉你们，凡看见妇女就动淫念的，这人心里已经与她犯奸淫了。But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman to lust after her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

²⁹若是你的右眼叫你跌倒，就剜出来丢掉，宁可失去百体中的一体，不叫全身丢在地狱里。If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.

³⁰若是右手叫你跌倒，就砍下来丢掉，宁可失去百体中的一体，不叫全身下入地狱。”And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to depart into hell.

论休妻

³¹“又有话说：‘人若休妻，就当给她休书。’It has also been said, ‘Whoever divorces his wife must give her a certificate of divorce.’

不可起誓

³³“你们又听见有吩咐古人的话，说：‘不可背誓，所起的誓总要向主谨守。’Again, you have heard that it was said to the ancients, ‘Do not break your oath, but fulfill your vows to the Lord.’

³⁴只是我告诉你们，什么誓都不可起。不可指着天起誓，因为天是　神的座位；But I tell you not to swear at all: either by heaven, for it is God’s throne;

³⁵不可指着地起誓，因为地是他的脚凳；也不可指着耶路撒冷起誓，因为耶路撒冷是大君的京城；or by the earth, for it is His footstool; or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King.

³⁶又不可指着你的头起誓，因为你不能使一根头发变黑变白了。Nor should you swear by your head, for you cannot make a single hair white or black.

³⁷你们的话，是，就说是；不是，就说不是；若再多说，就是出于那恶者（或译：就是从恶里出来的）。”Simply let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No.’ Anything more comes from the evil one.

以眼还眼

³⁸“你们听见有话说：‘以眼还眼，以牙还牙。’You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye and tooth for tooth.’

³⁹只是我告诉你们，不要与恶人作对。有人打你的右脸，连左脸也转过来由他打；But I tell you not to resist an evil person. If someone slaps you on your right cheek, turn to him the other also;

⁴⁰有人想要告你，要拿你的里衣，连外衣也由他拿去；if someone wants to sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well;

⁴¹有人强逼你走一里路，你就同他走二里；and if someone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles.

⁴²有求你的，就给他；有向你借贷的，不可推辞。”Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.

⁴³“你们听见有话说：‘当爱你的邻舍，恨你的仇敌。’You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor’ and ‘Hate your enemy.’

⁴⁴只是我告诉你们，要爱你们的仇敌，为那逼迫你们的祷告。But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,

⁴⁵这样就可以作你们天父的儿子；因为他叫日头照好人，也照歹人；降雨给义人，也给不义的人。that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.

⁴⁷你们若单请你弟兄的安，比人有什么长处呢？就是外邦人不也是这样行吗？And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even Gentiles do the same?

⁴⁸所以，你们要完全，像你们的天父完全一样。”Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
