无用的葡萄树

¹耶和华的话临到我说：Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

²“人子啊，葡萄树比别样树有什么强处？葡萄枝比众树枝有什么好处？“Son of man, how does the wood of the vine surpass any other branch among the trees in the forest?

³其上可以取木料做什么工用，可以取来做钉子挂什么器皿么？Can wood be taken from it to make something useful? Or can one make from it a peg on which to hang utensils?

⁴看哪，已经抛在火中当作柴烧，火既烧了两头，中间也被烧了，还有益于工用吗？No, it is cast into the fire for fuel. The fire devours both ends, and the middle is charred. Can it be useful for anything?

⁵完全的时候尚且不合乎什么工用，何况被火烧坏，还能合乎什么工用么？”Even when it was whole, it could not be made useful. How much less can it ever be useful when the fire has consumed it and charred it!

⁶所以，主耶和华如此说：众树以内的葡萄树，我怎样使它在火中当柴，也必照样待耶路撒冷的居民。Therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘Like the wood of the vine among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire for fuel, so I will give up the people of Jerusalem.

⁷我必向他们变脸；他们虽从火中出来，火却要烧灭他们。我向他们变脸的时候，你们就知道我是耶和华。And I will set My face against them. Though they may have escaped the fire, yet another fire will consume them. And when I set My face against them, you will know that I am the LORD.

⁸我必使地土荒凉，因为他们行事干犯我。这是主耶和华说的。”Thus I will make the land desolate, because they have acted unfaithfully,’ declares the Lord GOD.”

被丢在田野的女婴

¹耶和华的话又临到我说：Again the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

²“人子啊，你要使耶路撒冷知道她那些可憎的事，“Son of man, confront Jerusalem with her abominations

³说主耶和华对耶路撒冷如此说：你根本，你出世，是在迦南地；你父亲是亚摩利人，你母亲是赫人。and tell her that this is what the Lord GOD says to Jerusalem: Your origin and your birth were in the land of the Canaanites. Your father was an Amorite and your mother a Hittite.

⁴论到你出世的景况，在你初生的日子没有为你断脐带，也没有用水洗你，使你洁净，丝毫没有撒盐在你身上，也没有用布裹你。On the day of your birth your cord was not cut, nor were you washed with water for cleansing. You were not rubbed with salt or wrapped in cloths.

⁵谁的眼也不可怜你，为你做一件这样的事怜恤你；但你初生的日子扔在田野，是因你被厌恶。No one cared enough for you to do even one of these things out of compassion for you. Instead, you were thrown out into the open field, because you were despised on the day of your birth.

你虽在血中，仍可存活

⁶“我从你旁边经过，见你滚在血中，就对你说：你虽在血中，仍可存活；你虽在血中，仍可存活。Then I passed by and saw you wallowing in your blood, and as you lay there in your blood I said to you, ‘Live!’ There I said to you, ‘Live!’

⁷我使你生长好像田间所长的，你就渐渐长大，以致极其俊美，两乳成形，头发长成，你却仍然赤身露体。I made you thrive like a plant of the field. You grew up and matured and became very beautiful. Your breasts were formed and your hair grew, but you were naked and bare.

神与她结盟

⁸我从你旁边经过，看见你的时候正动爱情，便用衣襟搭在你身上，遮盖你的赤体；又向你起誓，与你结盟，你就归于我。这是主耶和华说的。Then I passed by and saw you, and you were indeed old enough for love. So I spread My cloak over you and covered your nakedness. I pledged Myself to you, entered into a covenant with you, and you became Mine, declares the Lord GOD.

⁹那时我用水洗你，洗净你身上的血，又用油抹你。Then I bathed you with water, rinsed off your blood, and anointed you with oil.

¹⁰我也使你身穿绣花衣服，脚穿海狗皮鞋，并用细麻布给你束腰，用丝绸为衣披在你身上，I clothed you in embroidered cloth and gave you sandals of fine leather. I wrapped you in fine linen and covered you with silk.

¹¹又用妆饰打扮你，将镯子戴在你手上，将金链戴在你项上。I adorned you with jewelry, and I put bracelets on your wrists and a chain around your neck.

¹²我也将环子戴在你鼻子上，将耳环戴在你耳朵上，将华冠戴在你头上。I put a ring in your nose, earrings on your ears, and a beautiful crown upon your head.

¹³这样，你就有金银的妆饰，穿的是细麻衣和丝绸，并绣花衣；吃的是细面、蜂蜜，并油。你也极其美貌，发达到王后的尊荣。So you were adorned with gold and silver, and your clothing was made of fine linen, silk, and embroidered cloth. You ate fine flour, honey, and oil. You became very beautiful and rose to be queen.

¹⁴你美貌的名声传在列邦中，你十分美貌，是因我加在你身上的威荣。这是主耶和华说的。Your fame spread among the nations on account of your beauty, for it was perfect in the splendor I bestowed on you, declares the Lord GOD.

仗着美貌行邪淫

¹⁵只是你仗着自己的美貌，又因你的名声就行邪淫。你纵情淫乱，使过路的任意而行。But because of your fame, you trusted in your beauty and played the harlot. You lavished your favors on everyone who passed by, and your beauty was theirs for the asking.

¹⁶你用衣服为自己在高处结彩，在其上行邪淫。这样的事将来必没有，也必不再行了。You took some of your garments and made colorful high places for yourself, and on them you prostituted yourself. Such things should not have happened; never should they have occurred!

¹⁷你又将我所给你那华美的金银、宝器为自己制造人像，与他行邪淫；You also took the fine jewelry of gold and silver I had given you, and you made male idols with which to prostitute yourself.

¹⁸又用你的绣花衣服给他披上，并将我的膏油和香料摆在他跟前；You took your embroidered garments to cover them, and you set My oil and incense before them.

¹⁹又将我赐给你的食物，就是我赐给你吃的细面、油，和蜂蜜，都摆在他跟前为馨香的供物。这是主耶和华说的。And you set before them as a pleasing aroma the food I had given you—the fine flour, oil, and honey that I had fed you. That is what happened, declares the Lord GOD.

将儿女焚献给偶像

²⁰并且你将给我所生的儿女焚献给他。You even took the sons and daughters you bore to Me and sacrificed them as food to idols. Was your prostitution not enough?

²¹你行淫乱岂是小事，竟将我的儿女杀了，使他们经火归与他吗？You slaughtered My children and delivered them up through the fire to idols.

²²你行这一切可憎和淫乱的事，并未追念你幼年赤身露体滚在血中的日子。And in all your abominations and acts of prostitution, you did not remember the days of your youth when you were naked and bare, wallowing in your own blood.

在街上建造高台

²³你行这一切恶事之后（主耶和华说：你有祸了！有祸了！）Woe! Woe to you, declares the Lord GOD. And in addition to all your other wickedness,

²⁴又为自己建造圆顶花楼，在各街上做了高台。you built yourself a mound and made yourself a lofty shrine in every public square.

²⁵你在一切市口上建造高台，使你的美貌变为可憎的，又与一切过路的多行淫乱。At the head of every street you built your lofty shrines and degraded your beauty. With increasing promiscuity, you spread your legs to all who passed by.

与埃及、亚述、迦勒底行淫

²⁶你也和你邻邦放纵情欲的埃及人行淫，加增你的淫乱，惹我发怒。You prostituted yourself with your lustful neighbors, the Egyptians, and increased your promiscuity to provoke Me to anger.

²⁷因此我伸手攻击你，减少你应用的粮食，又将你交给恨你的非利士众女（众女是城邑的意思；本章下同），使她们任意待你。她们见你的淫行，为你羞耻。Therefore I stretched out My hand against you and reduced your portion. I gave you over to the desire of those who hate you, the daughters of the Philistines, who were ashamed of your lewd conduct.

²⁸你因贪色无厌，又与亚述人行淫，与他们行淫之后，仍不满意，Then you prostituted yourself with the Assyrians, because you were not yet satisfied. Even after that, you were still not satisfied.

²⁹并且多行淫乱，直到那贸易之地，就是迦勒底，你仍不满意。So you extended your promiscuity to Chaldea, the land of merchants—but even with this you were not satisfied!

³⁰主耶和华说：你行这一切事，都是不知羞耻妓女所行的，可见你的心是何等懦弱！How weak-willed is your heart, declares the Lord GOD, while you do all these things, the acts of a shameless prostitute!

³¹因你在一切市口上建造圆顶花楼，在各街上做了高台，你却藐视赏赐，不像妓女。But when you built your mounds at the head of every street and made your lofty shrines in every public square, you were not even like a prostitute, because you scorned payment.

³²哎！你这行淫的妻啊，宁肯接外人，不接丈夫。You adulterous wife! You receive strangers instead of your own husband!

³³凡妓女是得人赠送，你反倒赠送你所爱的人，贿赂他们从四围来与你行淫。Men give gifts to all their prostitutes, but you gave gifts to all your lovers. You bribed them to come to you from everywhere for your illicit favors.

³⁴你行淫与别的妇女相反，因为不是人从你行淫；你既赠送人，人并不赠送你；所以你与别的妇女相反。So your prostitution is the opposite of that of other women: No one solicited your favors, and you paid a fee instead of receiving one; so you are the very opposite!

淫妇要受审判

³⁵你这妓女啊，要听耶和华的话。Therefore, O prostitute, hear the word of the LORD!

³⁶主耶和华如此说：因你的污秽倾泄了，你与你所爱的行淫露出下体，又因你拜一切可憎的偶像，流儿女的血献给他，This is what the Lord GOD says: Because you poured out your wealth and exposed your nakedness in your promiscuity with your lovers and with all your detestable idols, and because of the blood of your children which you gave to them,

³⁷我就要将你一切相欢、相爱的，和你一切所恨的都聚集来，从四围攻击你；又将你的下体露出，使他们看尽了。therefore I will surely gather all the lovers with whom you found pleasure, all those you loved and all those you hated. I will gather them against you from all around and expose you before them, and they will see you completely naked.

³⁸我也要审判你，好像官长审判淫妇和流人血的妇女一样。我因忿怒忌恨，使流血的罪归到你身上。And I will sentence you to the punishment of women who commit adultery and those who shed blood; so I will bring upon you the wrath of your bloodshed and jealousy.

³⁹我又要将你交在他们手中；他们必拆毁你的圆顶花楼，毁坏你的高台，剥去你的衣服，夺取你的华美宝器，留下你赤身露体。Then I will deliver you into the hands of your lovers, and they will level your mounds and tear down your lofty shrines. They will strip off your clothes, take your fine jewelry, and leave you naked and bare.

⁴⁰他们也必带多人来攻击你，用石头打死你，用刀剑刺透你，They will bring a mob against you, who will stone you and cut you to pieces with their swords.

⁴¹用火焚烧你的房屋，在许多妇人眼前向你施行审判。我必使你不再行淫，也不再赠送与人。Then they will burn down your houses and execute judgment against you in the sight of many women. I will put an end to your prostitution, and you will never again pay your lovers.

⁴²这样，我就止息向你发的忿怒，我的忌恨也要离开你，我要安静不再恼怒。So I will lay to rest My wrath against you, and My jealousy will turn away from you. Then I will be calm and no longer angry.

⁴³因你不追念你幼年的日子，在这一切的事上向我发烈怒，所以我必照你所行的报应在你头上，你就不再贪淫，行那一切可憎的事。这是主耶和华说的。Because you did not remember the days of your youth, but enraged Me with all these things, I will surely bring your deeds down upon your own head, declares the Lord GOD. Have you not committed this lewdness on top of all your other abominations?

母亲怎样，女儿也怎样

⁴⁴“凡说俗语的必用俗语攻击你，说：‘母亲怎样，女儿也怎样。’Behold, all who speak in proverbs will quote this proverb about you: ‘Like mother, like daughter.’

⁴⁵你正是你母亲的女儿，厌弃丈夫和儿女；你正是你姊妹的姊妹，厌弃丈夫和儿女。你母亲是赫人，你父亲是亚摩利人。You are the daughter of your mother, who despised her husband and children. You are the sister of your sisters, who despised their husbands and children. Your mother was a Hittite and your father an Amorite.

⁴⁶你的姊姊是撒马利亚，她和她的众女住在你左边；你的妹妹是所多玛，她和她的众女住在你右边。Your older sister was Samaria, who lived with her daughters to your north; and your younger sister was Sodom, who lived with her daughters to your south.

⁴⁷你没有效法她们的行为，也没有照她们可憎的事去做，你以那为小事，你一切所行的倒比她们更坏。And you not only walked in their ways and practiced their abominations, but soon you were more depraved than they were.

⁴⁸主耶和华说：我指着我的永生起誓，你妹妹所多玛与她的众女尚未行你和你众女所行的事。As surely as I live, declares the Lord GOD, your sister Sodom and her daughters never did as you and your daughters have done.

⁴⁹看哪，你妹妹所多玛的罪孽是这样：她和她的众女都心骄气傲，粮食饱足，大享安逸，并没有扶助困苦和穷乏人的手。Now this was the iniquity of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed, and complacent; they did not help the poor and needy.

⁵⁰她们狂傲，在我面前行可憎的事，我看见便将她们除掉。Thus they were haughty and committed abominations before Me. Therefore I removed them, as you have seen.

⁵¹撒马利亚没有犯你一半的罪，你行可憎的事比她更多，使你的姊妹因你所行一切可憎的事，倒显为义。Furthermore, Samaria did not commit half the sins you did. You have multiplied your abominations beyond theirs, and all the abominations you have committed have made your sisters appear righteous.

⁵²你既断定你姊妹为义（为义：或译当受羞辱），就要担当自己的羞辱；因你所犯的罪比她们更为可憎，她们就比你更显为义；你既使你的姊妹显为义，你就要抱愧担当自己的羞辱。”So now you must bear your disgrace, since you have brought justification for your sisters. For they appear more righteous than you, because your sins were more vile than theirs. So you too must bear your shame and disgrace, since you have made your sisters appear righteous.

被掳的必归回

⁵³“我必叫她们被掳的归回，就是叫所多玛和她的众女，撒马利亚和她的众女，并你们中间被掳的，都要归回，But I will restore Sodom and her daughters from captivity, as well as Samaria and her daughters. And I will restore you along with them.

⁵⁴好使你担当自己的羞辱，并因你一切所行的使她们得安慰，你就抱愧。So you will bear your disgrace and be ashamed of all you did to comfort them.

⁵⁵你的妹妹所多玛和她的众女必归回原位；撒马利亚和她的众女，你和你的众女，也必归回原位。And your sisters, Sodom with her daughters and Samaria with her daughters, will return to their former state. You and your daughters will also return to your former state.

^56–57在你骄傲的日子，你的恶行没有显露以先，你的口就不提你的妹妹所多玛。那受了凌辱的亚兰众女和亚兰四围非利士的众女都恨恶你，藐视你。Did you not treat your sister Sodom as an object of scorn in the day of your pride, before your wickedness was uncovered? Even so, you are now scorned by the daughters of Edom and all those around her, and by the daughters of the Philistines—all those around you who despise you.

⁵⁸耶和华说：你贪淫和可憎的事，你已经担当了。”You will bear the consequences of your lewdness and your abominations, declares the LORD.

与你立定永约

⁵⁹“主耶和华如此说：你这轻看誓言、背弃盟约的，我必照你所行的待你。For this is what the Lord GOD says: I will deal with you according to your deeds, since you have despised the oath by breaking the covenant.

⁶⁰然而我要追念在你幼年时与你所立的约，也要与你立定永约。But I will remember the covenant I made with you in the days of your youth, and I will establish an everlasting covenant with you.

⁶¹你接待你姊姊和你妹妹的时候，你要追念你所行的，自觉惭愧；并且我要将她们赐你为女儿，却不是按着前约。Then you will remember your ways and be ashamed when you receive your older and younger sisters. I will give them to you as daughters, but not because of My covenant with you.

⁶²我要坚定与你所立的约（你就知道我是耶和华），So I will establish My covenant with you, and you will know that I am the LORD,

⁶³好使你在我赦免你一切所行的时候，心里追念，自觉抱愧，又因你的羞辱就不再开口。这是主耶和华说的。”so that when I make atonement for all you have done, you will remember and be ashamed and never again open your mouth because of your disgrace, declares the Lord GOD.”

有信心却没有行为

¹⁴我的弟兄们，若有人说自己有信心，却没有行为，有什么益处呢？这信心能救他吗？What good is it, my brothers, if someone claims to have faith, but has no deeds? Can such faith save him?

¹⁵若是弟兄或是姊妹，赤身露体，又缺了日用的饮食；Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food.

¹⁶你们中间有人对他们说：“平平安安地去吧！愿你们穿得暖，吃得饱”，却不给他们身体所需用的，这有什么益处呢？If one of you tells him, “Go in peace; stay warm and well fed,” but does not provide for his physical needs, what good is that?

¹⁷这样，信心若没有行为就是死的。So too, faith by itself, if it does not result in action, is dead.

借着行为显出信心

¹⁸必有人说：“你有信心，我有行为；你将你没有行为的信心指给我看，我便借着我的行为，将我的信心指给你看。”But someone will say, “You have faith and I have deeds.” Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds.

¹⁹你信　神只有一位，你信的不错；鬼魔也信，却是战惊。You believe that God is one. Good for you! Even the demons believe that—and shudder.

²⁰虚浮的人哪，你愿意知道没有行为的信心是死的吗？O foolish man, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is worthless?

亚伯拉罕献以撒

²¹我们的祖宗亚伯拉罕把他儿子以撒献在坛上，岂不是因行为称义吗？Was not our father Abraham justified by what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar?

²²可见，信心是与他的行为并行，而且信心因着行为才得成全。You see that his faith was working with his actions, and his faith was perfected by what he did.

²³这就应验经上所说：“亚伯拉罕信　神，这就算为他的义。”他又得称为　神的朋友。And the Scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,” and he was called a friend of God.

²⁴这样看来，人称义是因着行为，不是单因着信。As you can see, a man is justified by his deeds and not by faith alone.

妓女喇合

²⁵妓女喇合接待使者，又放他们从别的路上出去，不也是一样因行为称义吗？In the same way, was not even Rahab the prostitute justified by her actions when she welcomed the spies and sent them off on another route?

²⁶身体没有灵魂是死的，信心没有行为也是死的。As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.
