不要嫉妒恶人

¹你不要嫉妒恶人，也不要起意与他们相处；Do not envy wicked men or desire their company;

²因为，他们的心图谋强暴，他们的口谈论奸恶。for their hearts devise violence, and their lips declare trouble.

用智慧建造房屋

³房屋因智慧建造，又因聪明立稳；By wisdom a house is built and by understanding it is established;

⁴其中因知识充满各样美好宝贵的财物。through knowledge its rooms are filled with every precious and beautiful treasure.

⁵智慧人大有能力；有知识的人力上加力。A wise man is strong, and a man of knowledge enhances his strength.

⁶你去打仗，要凭智谋；谋士众多，人便得胜。Only with sound guidance should you wage war, and victory lies in a multitude of counselors.

⁷智慧极高，非愚昧人所能及，所以在城门内不敢开口。Wisdom is too high for a fool; he does not open his mouth in the meeting place.

设计作恶的人

⁸设计作恶的，必称为奸人。He who plots evil will be called a schemer.

⁹愚妄人的思念乃是罪恶；亵慢者为人所憎恶。A foolish scheme is sin, and a mocker is detestable to men.

患难时不胆怯，要解救人

¹⁰你在患难之日若胆怯，你的力量就微小。If you faint in the day of distress, how small is your strength!

¹¹人被拉到死地，你要解救；人将被杀，你须拦阻。Rescue those being led away to death, and restrain those stumbling toward the slaughter.

¹²你若说：这事我未曾知道，那衡量人心的岂不明白吗？保守你命的岂不知道吗？他岂不按各人所行的报应各人吗？If you say, “Behold, we did not know about this,” does not He who weighs hearts consider it? Does not the One who guards your life know? Will He not repay a man according to his deeds?

智慧如蜜

¹³我儿，你要吃蜜，因为是好的；吃蜂房下滴的蜜便觉甘甜。Eat honey, my son, for it is good, and the honeycomb is sweet to your taste.

¹⁴你心得了智慧，也必觉得如此。你若找着，至终必有善报；你的指望也不致断绝。Know therefore that wisdom is sweet to your soul. If you find it, there is a future for you, and your hope will never be cut off.

义人七次跌倒仍必兴起

¹⁵你这恶人，不要埋伏攻击义人的家；不要毁坏他安居之所。Do not lie in wait, O wicked man, near the dwelling of the righteous; do not destroy his resting place.

¹⁶因为，义人虽七次跌倒，仍必兴起；恶人却被祸患倾倒。For though a righteous man may fall seven times, he still gets up; but the wicked stumble in bad times.

仇敌跌倒不要欢喜

¹⁷你仇敌跌倒，你不要欢喜；他倾倒，你心不要快乐；Do not gloat when your enemy falls, and do not let your heart rejoice when he stumbles,

¹⁸恐怕耶和华看见就不喜悦，将怒气从仇敌身上转过来。or the LORD will see and disapprove, and turn His wrath away from him.

¹⁹不要为作恶的心怀不平，也不要嫉妒恶人；Do not fret over evildoers, and do not be envious of the wicked.

²⁰因为，恶人终不得善报；恶人的灯也必熄灭。For the evil man has no future; the lamp of the wicked will be extinguished.

敬畏耶和华与君王

²¹我儿，你要敬畏耶和华与君王，不要与反复无常的人结交，My son, fear the LORD and the king, and do not associate with the rebellious.

²²因为他们的灾难必忽然而起。耶和华与君王所施行的毁灭，谁能知道呢？For they will bring sudden destruction. Who knows what ruin they can bring?

审判不可看情面

²³以下也是智慧人的箴言：审判时看人情面是不好的。These also are sayings of the wise: To show partiality in judgment is not good.

²⁴对恶人说“你是义人”的，这人万民必咒诅，列邦必憎恶。Whoever tells the guilty, “You are innocent”—peoples will curse him, and nations will denounce him;

²⁵责备恶人的，必得喜悦；美好的福也必临到他。but it will go well with those who convict the guilty, and rich blessing will come upon them.

²⁶应对正直的，犹如与人亲嘴。An honest answer given is like a kiss on the lips.

先预备工料再建造

²⁷你要在外头预备工料，在田间办理整齐，然后建造房屋。Complete your outdoor work and prepare your field; after that, you may build your house.

不可作假见证，不可报复

²⁸不可无故作见证陷害邻舍，也不可用嘴欺骗人。Do not testify against your neighbor without cause, and do not deceive with your lips.

²⁹不可说：人怎样待我，我也怎样待他；我必照他所行的报复他。Do not say, “I will do to him as he has done to me; I will repay the man according to his work.”

懒惰人的田地

³⁰我经过懒惰人的田地、无知人的葡萄园，I went past the field of a slacker and by the vineyard of a man lacking judgment.

³¹荆棘长满了地皮，刺草遮盖了田面，石墙也坍塌了。Thorns had grown up everywhere, thistles had covered the ground, and the stone wall was broken down.

³²我看见就留心思想；我看着就领了训诲。I observed and took it to heart; I looked and received instruction:

³³再睡片时，打盹片时，抱着手躺卧片时，A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest,

³⁴你的贫穷就必如强盗速来，你的缺乏仿佛拿兵器的人来到。and poverty will come upon you like a robber, and need like a bandit.

预备妥当，免得落空

¹论到供给圣徒的事，我不必写信给你们；Now about the service to the saints, there is no need for me to write to you.

²因为我知道你们乐意的心，常对马其顿人夸奖你们，说亚该亚人预备好了，已经有一年了；并且你们的热心激动了许多人。For I know your eagerness to help, and I have been boasting to the Macedonians that since last year you in Achaia were prepared to give. And your zeal has stirred most of them to do likewise.

³但我打发那几位弟兄去，要叫你们照我的话预备妥当，免得我们在这事上夸奖你们的话落了空。But I am sending the brothers in order that our boasting about you in this matter should not prove empty, but that you will be prepared, just as I said.

⁴万一有马其顿人与我同去，见你们没有预备，就叫我们所确信的，反成了羞愧；你们羞愧，更不用说了。Otherwise, if any Macedonians come with me and find you unprepared, we—to say nothing of you—would be ashamed of having been so confident.

⁵因此，我想不得不求那几位弟兄先到你们那里去，把从前所应许的捐赀预备妥当，就显出你们所捐的是出于乐意，不是出于勉强。So I thought it necessary to urge the brothers to visit you beforehand and make arrangements for the generous gift you had promised. This way, your gift will be prepared generously and not begrudgingly.

少种少收，多种多收

⁶“少种的少收，多种的多收”，这话是真的。Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.

⁷各人要随本心所酌定的，不要作难，不要勉强，因为捐得乐意的人是　神所喜爱的。Each one should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not out of regret or compulsion. For God loves a cheerful giver.

神能使你们凡事充足

⁸神能将各样的恩惠多多地加给你们，使你们凡事常常充足，能多行各样善事。And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things, at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.

⁹如经上所记：他施舍钱财，周济贫穷；他的仁义存到永远。As it is written: “He has scattered abroad His gifts to the poor; His righteousness endures forever.”

¹⁰那赐种给撒种的，赐粮给人吃的，必多多加给你们种地的种子，又增添你们仁义的果子；Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your store of seed and will increase the harvest of your righteousness.

¹¹叫你们凡事富足，可以多多施舍，就借着我们使感谢归于　神。You will be enriched in every way to be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will produce thanksgiving to God.

捐献带来感谢

¹²因为办这供给的事，不但补圣徒的缺乏，而且叫许多人越发感谢　神。For this ministry of service is not only supplying the needs of the saints but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanksgiving to God.

¹³他们从这供给的事上得了凭据，知道你们承认基督顺服他的福音，多多地捐钱给他们和众人，便将荣耀归与　神。Because of the proof this ministry provides, the saints will glorify God for your obedient confession of the gospel of Christ, and for the generosity of your contribution to them and to all the others.

¹⁴他们也因　神极大的恩赐显在你们心里，就切切地想念你们，为你们祈祷。And their prayers for you will express their affection for you, because of the surpassing grace God has given you.

¹⁵感谢　神，因他有说不尽的恩赐！Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!
