乌西雅作王

¹犹大众民立亚玛谢的儿子乌西雅（又名亚撒利雅）接续他父作王，那时他年十六岁。All the people of Judah took Uzziah, who was sixteen years old, and made him king in place of his father Amaziah.

²（亚玛谢与他列祖同睡之后，乌西雅收回以禄仍归犹大，又重新修理。）Uzziah was the one who rebuilt Eloth and restored it to Judah after King Amaziah rested with his fathers.

³乌西雅登基的时候年十六岁，在耶路撒冷作王五十二年。他母亲名叫耶可利雅，是耶路撒冷人。Uzziah was sixteen years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem fifty-two years. His mother’s name was Jecoliah; she was from Jerusalem.

⁴乌西雅行耶和华眼中看为正的事，效法他父亚玛谢一切所行的；And he did what was right in the eyes of the LORD, just as his father Amaziah had done.

⁵通晓　神默示，撒迦利亚在世的时候，乌西雅定意寻求　神；他寻求耶和华，　神就使他亨通。He sought God throughout the days of Zechariah, who instructed him in the fear of God. And as long as he sought the LORD, God gave him success.

攻击非利士人

⁶他出去攻击非利士人，拆毁了迦特城、雅比尼城，和亚实突城；在非利士人中，在亚实突境内，又建筑了些城。Uzziah went out to wage war against the Philistines, and he tore down the walls of Gath, Jabneh, and Ashdod. Then he built cities near Ashdod and among the Philistines.

⁷神帮助他攻击非利士人和住在姑珥巴力的阿拉伯人，并米乌尼人。God helped him against the Philistines, against the Arabs living in Gur-baal, and against the Meunites.

⁸亚扪人给乌西雅进贡。他的名声传到埃及，因他甚是强盛。The Ammonites brought tribute to Uzziah, and his fame spread as far as the border of Egypt, for he had become exceedingly powerful.

建城楼、挖井、喜爱农事

⁹乌西雅在耶路撒冷的角门和谷门，并城墙转弯之处，建筑城楼，且甚坚固；Uzziah built towers in Jerusalem at the Corner Gate, the Valley Gate, and the angle in the wall, and he fortified them.

¹⁰又在旷野与高原和平原，建筑望楼，挖了许多井，因他的牲畜甚多；又在山地和佳美之地，有农夫和修理葡萄园的人，因为他喜悦农事。Since he had much livestock in the foothills and in the plain, he built towers in the desert and dug many cisterns. And since he was a lover of the soil, he had farmers and vinedressers in the hill country and in the fertile fields.

军队与兵器

¹¹乌西雅又有军兵，照书记耶利和官长玛西雅所数点的，在王的一个将军哈拿尼雅手下，分队出战。Uzziah had an army ready for battle that went out to war by assigned divisions, as recorded by Jeiel the scribe and Maaseiah the officer under the direction of Hananiah, one of the royal officers.

¹²族长、大能勇士的总数共有二千六百人，The total number of family leaders of the mighty men of valor was 2,600.

¹³他们手下的军兵共有三十万七千五百人，都有大能，善于争战，帮助王攻击仇敌。Under their authority was an army of 307,500 trained for war, a powerful force to support the king against his enemies.

¹⁴乌西雅为全军预备盾牌、枪、盔、甲、弓，和甩石的机弦，Uzziah supplied the entire army with shields, spears, helmets, armor, bows, and slingstones.

¹⁵又在耶路撒冷使巧匠做机器，安在城楼和角楼上，用以射箭发石。乌西雅的名声传到远方；因为他得了非常的帮助，甚是强盛。And in Jerusalem he made skillfully designed devices to shoot arrows and catapult large stones from the towers and corners. So his fame spread far and wide, for he was helped tremendously until he became powerful.

心高气傲，进殿烧香

¹⁶他既强盛，就心高气傲，以致行事邪僻，干犯耶和华—他的　神，进耶和华的殿，要在香坛上烧香。But when Uzziah became powerful, his arrogance led to his own destruction. He was unfaithful to the LORD his God, for he entered the temple of the LORD to burn incense on the altar of incense.

¹⁷祭司亚撒利雅率领耶和华勇敢的祭司八十人，跟随他进去。Then Azariah the priest, along with eighty brave priests of the LORD, went in after him.

¹⁸他们就阻挡乌西雅王，对他说：“乌西雅啊，给耶和华烧香不是你的事，乃是亚伦子孙承接圣职祭司的事。你出圣殿吧！因为你犯了罪。你行这事，耶和华　神必不使你得荣耀。”They took their stand against King Uzziah and said, “Uzziah, you have no right to offer incense to the LORD. Only the priests, the descendants of Aaron, are consecrated to burn incense. Leave the sanctuary, for you have acted unfaithfully; you will not receive honor from the LORD God.”

额上发出大痲疯

¹⁹乌西雅就发怒，手拿香炉要烧香。他向祭司发怒的时候，在耶和华殿中香坛旁众祭司面前，额上忽然发出大麻风。Uzziah, with a censer in his hand to offer incense, was enraged. But while he raged against the priests in their presence in the house of the LORD before the altar of incense, leprosy broke out on his forehead.

²⁰大祭司亚撒利雅和众祭司观看，见他额上发出大麻风，就催他出殿；他自己也急速出去，因为耶和华降灾与他。When Azariah the chief priest and all the priests turned to him and saw his leprous forehead, they rushed him out. Indeed, he himself hurried to get out, because the LORD had afflicted him.

²¹乌西雅王长大麻风直到死日，因此住在别的宫里，与耶和华的殿隔绝。他儿子约坦管理家事，治理国民。So King Uzziah was a leper until the day of his death. He lived in isolation, leprous and cut off from the house of the LORD, while his son Jotham had charge of the royal palace and governed the people of the land.

²²乌西雅其余的事，自始至终都是亚摩斯的儿子先知以赛亚所记的。As for the rest of the acts of Uzziah, from beginning to end, they are recorded by the prophet Isaiah son of Amoz.

²³乌西雅与他列祖同睡，葬在王陵的田间他列祖的坟地里；因为人说，他是长大麻风的。他儿子约坦接续他作王。And Uzziah rested with his fathers and was buried near them in a field of burial that belonged to the kings, for the people said, “He was a leper.” And his son Jotham reigned in his place.

约坦行正道

¹约坦登基的时候年二十五岁，在耶路撒冷作王十六年，他母亲名叫耶路沙，是撒督的女儿。Jotham was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem sixteen years. His mother’s name was Jerushah daughter of Zadok.

²约坦行耶和华眼中看为正的事，效法他父乌西雅一切所行的，只是不入耶和华的殿。百姓还行邪僻的事。And he did what was right in the eyes of the LORD, just as his father Uzziah had done. In addition, he did not enter the temple of the LORD. But the people still behaved corruptly.

³约坦建立耶和华殿的上门，在俄斐勒城上多有建造，Jotham rebuilt the Upper Gate of the house of the LORD, and he worked extensively on the wall at the hill of Ophel.

⁴又在犹大山地建造城邑，在树林中建筑营寨和高楼。He also built cities in the hill country of Judah and fortresses and towers in the forests.

⁵约坦与亚扪人的王打仗胜了他们，当年他们进贡银一百他连得，小麦一万歌珥，大麦一万歌珥；第二年、第三年也是这样。Jotham waged war against the king of the Ammonites and defeated them, and that year they gave him a hundred talents of silver, ten thousand cors of wheat, and ten thousand cors of barley. They paid him the same in the second and third years.

⁶约坦在耶和华—他　神面前行正道，以致日渐强盛。So Jotham grew powerful because he ordered his ways before the LORD his God.

⁷约坦其余的事和一切争战，并他的行为，都写在以色列和犹大列王记上。As for the rest of the acts of Jotham, along with all his wars and his ways, they are indeed written in the Book of the Kings of Israel and Judah.

⁸他登基的时候年二十五岁，在耶路撒冷作王十六年。He was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem sixteen years.

⁹约坦与他列祖同睡，葬在大卫城里。他儿子亚哈斯接续他作王。And Jotham rested with his fathers and was buried in the City of David. And his son Ahaz reigned in his place.

亚哈斯行恶

¹亚哈斯登基的时候年二十岁，在耶路撒冷作王十六年；不像他祖大卫行耶和华眼中看为正的事，Ahaz was twenty years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem sixteen years. And unlike David his father, he did not do what was right in the eyes of the LORD.

²却行以色列诸王的道，又铸造巴力的像，Instead, he walked in the ways of the kings of Israel and even made cast images of the Baals.

³并且在欣嫩子谷烧香，用火焚烧他的儿女，行耶和华在以色列人面前所驱逐的外邦人那可憎的事；Moreover, Ahaz burned incense in the Valley of Ben-hinnom and sacrificed his sons in the fire, according to the abominations of the nations that the LORD had driven out before the Israelites.

⁴并在邱坛上、山冈上、各青翠树下献祭烧香。And he sacrificed and burned incense on the high places, on the hills, and under every green tree.

被亚兰和以色列打败

⁵所以，耶和华—他的　神将他交在亚兰王手里。亚兰王打败他，掳了他许多的民，带到大马士革去。　神又将他交在以色列王手里，以色列王向他大行杀戮。So the LORD his God delivered Ahaz into the hand of the king of Aram, who attacked him and took many captives to Damascus. Ahaz was also delivered into the hand of the king of Israel, who struck him with great force.

⁶利玛利的儿子比加一日杀了犹大人十二万，都是勇士，因为他们离弃了耶和华—他们列祖的　神。For in one day Pekah son of Remaliah killed 120,000 valiant men in Judah. This happened because they had forsaken the LORD, the God of their fathers.

⁷有一个以法莲中的勇士，名叫细基利，杀了王的儿子玛西雅和管理王宫的押斯利甘，并宰相以利加拿。Zichri, a mighty man of Ephraim, killed Maaseiah the son of the king, Azrikam the governor of the palace, and Elkanah the second to the king.

⁸以色列人掳了他们的弟兄，连妇人带儿女共有二十万，又掠了许多的财物，带到撒马利亚去了。Then the Israelites took 200,000 captives from their kinsmen—women, sons, and daughters. They also carried off a great deal of plunder and brought it to Samaria.

先知俄德劝以色列释放俘虏

⁹但那里有耶和华的一个先知，名叫俄德，出来迎接往撒马利亚去的军兵，对他们说：“因为耶和华—你们列祖的　神恼怒犹大人，所以将他们交在你们手里，你们竟怒气冲天，大行杀戮。But a prophet of the LORD named Oded was there, and he went out to meet the army that returned to Samaria. “Look,” he said to them, “because of His wrath against Judah, the LORD, the God of your fathers, has delivered them into your hand. But you have slaughtered them in a rage that reaches up to heaven.

¹⁰如今你们又有意强逼犹大人和耶路撒冷人作你们的奴婢，你们岂不也有得罪耶和华—你们　神的事吗？And now you intend to reduce to slavery the men and women of Judah and Jerusalem. But are you not also guilty before the LORD your God?

¹¹现在你们当听我说，要将掳来的弟兄释放回去，因为耶和华向你们已经大发烈怒。”Now therefore, listen to me and return the captives you took from your kinsmen, for the fierce anger of the LORD is upon you.”

¹²于是，以法莲人的几个族长—就是约哈难的儿子亚撒利雅、米实利末的儿子比利家、沙龙的儿子耶希西家、哈得莱的儿子亚玛撒—起来拦挡出兵回来的人，Then some of the leaders of the Ephraimites—Azariah son of Jehohanan, Berechiah son of Meshillemoth, Jehizkiah son of Shallum, and Amasa son of Hadlai—stood in opposition to those arriving from the war.

¹³对他们说：“你们不可带进这被掳的人来！你们想要使我们得罪耶和华，加增我们的罪恶过犯？因为我们的罪过甚大，已经有烈怒临到以色列人了。”“You must not bring the captives here,” they said, “for you are proposing to bring guilt upon us from the LORD and to add to our sins and our guilt. For our guilt is great, and fierce anger is upon Israel.”

¹⁴于是带兵器的人将掳来的人口和掠来的财物都留在众首领和会众的面前。So the armed men left the captives and the plunder before the leaders and all the assembly.

¹⁵以上提名的那些人就站起，使被掳的人前来；其中有赤身的，就从所掠的财物中拿出衣服和鞋来，给他们穿，又给他们吃喝，用膏抹他们；其中有软弱的，就使他们骑驴，送到棕树城耶利哥他们弟兄那里；随后就回撒马利亚去了。Then the men who were designated by name arose, took charge of the captives, and provided from the plunder clothing for the naked. They clothed them, gave them sandals and food and drink, anointed their wounds, and put all the feeble on donkeys. So they brought them to Jericho, the City of Palms, to their brothers. Then they returned to Samaria.

求亚述帮助反被欺凌

¹⁶那时，亚哈斯王差遣人去见亚述诸王，求他们帮助；At that time King Ahaz sent for help from the king of Assyria.

¹⁷因为以东人又来攻击犹大，掳掠子民。The Edomites had again come and attacked Judah and carried away captives.

¹⁸非利士人也来侵占高原和犹大南方的城邑，取了伯·示麦、亚雅仑、基低罗，梭哥和属梭哥的乡村，亭纳和属亭纳的乡村，瑾锁和属瑾锁的乡村，就住在那里。The Philistines had also raided the cities of the foothills and the Negev of Judah, capturing and occupying Beth-shemesh, Aijalon, and Gederoth, as well as Soco, Timnah, and Gimzo with their villages.

¹⁹因为以色列王亚哈斯在犹大放肆，大大干犯耶和华，所以耶和华使犹大卑微。For the LORD humbled Judah because Ahaz king of Israel had thrown off restraint in Judah and had been most unfaithful to the LORD.

²⁰亚述王提革拉·毗列色上来，却没有帮助他，反倒欺凌他。Then Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria came to Ahaz but afflicted him rather than strengthening him.

²¹亚哈斯从耶和华殿里和王宫中，并首领家内所取的财宝给了亚述王，这也无济于事。Although Ahaz had taken a portion from the house of the LORD, from the royal palace, and from the princes and had presented it to the king of Assyria, it did not help him.

越发得罪神

²²这亚哈斯王在急难的时候，越发得罪耶和华。In the time of his distress, King Ahaz became even more unfaithful to the LORD.

²³他祭祀攻击他的大马士革之神，说：“因为亚兰王的神帮助他们，我也献祭与他，他好帮助我。”但那些神使他和以色列众人败亡了。He sacrificed to the gods of Damascus, who had defeated him, and he said, “Because the gods of the kings of Aram have helped them, I will sacrifice to them that they may help me.” But these gods were the downfall of Ahaz and of all Israel.

²⁴亚哈斯将　神殿里的器皿都聚了来，毁坏了，且封锁耶和华殿的门；在耶路撒冷各处的拐角建筑祭坛，Then Ahaz gathered up the articles of the house of God, cut them into pieces, shut the doors of the house of the LORD, and set up altars of his own on every street corner in Jerusalem.

²⁵又在犹大各城建立邱坛，与别神烧香，惹动耶和华—他列祖　神的怒气。In every city of Judah he built high places to offer incense to other gods, and so he provoked the LORD, the God of his fathers.

²⁶亚哈斯其余的事和他的行为，自始至终都写在犹大和以色列诸王记上。As for the rest of the acts of Ahaz and all his ways, from beginning to end, they are indeed written in the Book of the Kings of Judah and Israel.

²⁷亚哈斯与他列祖同睡，葬在耶路撒冷城里，没有送入以色列诸王的坟墓中。他儿子希西家接续他作王。And Ahaz rested with his fathers and was buried in the city of Jerusalem, but he was not placed in the tombs of the kings of Israel. And his son Hezekiah reigned in his place.

哥尼流的人找到彼得

¹⁷彼得心里正在猜疑之间，不知所看见的异象是什么意思。哥尼流所差来的人已经访问到西门的家，站在门外，While Peter was puzzling over the meaning of the vision, the men sent by Cornelius found Simon’s house and approached the gate.

¹⁸喊着问：“有称呼彼得的西门住在这里没有？”They called out to ask if Simon called Peter was staying there.

¹⁹彼得还思想那异象的时候，圣灵向他说：“有三个人来找你。As Peter continued to reflect on the vision, the Spirit said to him, “Behold, three men are looking for you.

²⁰起来，下去，和他们同往，不要疑惑，因为是我差他们来的。”So get up! Go downstairs and accompany them without hesitation, because I have sent them.”

²¹于是彼得下去见那些人，说：“我就是你们所找的人。你们来是为什么缘故？”So Peter went down to the men and said, “Here am I, the one you are looking for. Why have you come?”

²²他们说：“百夫长哥尼流是个义人，敬畏　神，为犹太通国所称赞。他蒙一位圣天使指示，叫他请你到他家里去，听你的话。”“Cornelius the centurion has sent us,” they said. “He is a righteous and God-fearing man with a good reputation among the whole Jewish nation. A holy angel instructed him to request your presence in his home so he could hear a message from you.”

彼得到哥尼流家

²³彼得就请他们进去，住了一宿。次日，起身和他们同去，还有约帕的几个弟兄同着他去；So Peter invited them in as his guests. And the next day he got ready and went with them, accompanied by some of the brothers from Joppa.

²⁴又次日，他们进入凯撒利亚，哥尼流已经请了他的亲属密友等候他们。The following day he arrived in Caesarea, where Cornelius was expecting them and had called together his relatives and close friends.

²⁵彼得一进去，哥尼流就迎接他，俯伏在他脚前拜他。As Peter was about to enter, Cornelius met him and fell at his feet to worship him.

²⁶彼得却拉他，说：“你起来，我也是人。”But Peter helped him up. “Stand up,” he said, “I am only a man myself.”

²⁷彼得和他说着话进去，见有好些人在那里聚集，As Peter talked with him, he went inside and found many people gathered together.

²⁸就对他们说：“你们知道，犹太人和别国的人亲近来往本是不合例的，但　神已经指示我，无论什么人都不可看作俗而不洁净的。He said to them, “You know how unlawful it is for a Jew to associate with a foreigner or visit him. But God has shown me that I should not call any man impure or unclean.

²⁹所以我被请的时候，就不推辞而来。现在请问：你们叫我来有什么意思呢？”So when I was invited, I came without objection. I ask, then, why have you sent for me?”

哥尼流述说异象

³⁰哥尼流说：“前四天，这个时候，我在家中守着申初的祷告，忽然有一个人穿着光明的衣裳，站在我面前，Cornelius answered: “Four days ago I was in my house praying at this, the ninth hour. Suddenly a man in radiant clothing stood before me

³¹说：‘哥尼流，你的祷告已蒙垂听，你的周济达到　神面前已蒙记念了。and said, ‘Cornelius, your prayer has been heard, and your gifts to the poor have been remembered before God.

³²你当打发人往约帕去，请那称呼彼得的西门来，他住在海边一个硝皮匠西门的家里。’Therefore send to Joppa for Simon, who is called Peter. He is a guest in the home of Simon the tanner, by the sea.’

³³所以我立时打发人去请你。你来了很好；现今我们都在　神面前，要听主所吩咐你的一切话。”So I sent for you immediately, and you were kind enough to come. Now then, we are all here in the presence of God to listen to everything the Lord has instructed you to tell us.”

神不偏待人

³⁴彼得就开口说：“我真看出　神是不偏待人。Then Peter began to speak: “I now truly understand that God does not show favoritism,

³⁵原来，各国中那敬畏主、行义的人都为主所悦纳。but welcomes those from every nation who fear Him and do what is right.

³⁶神借着耶稣基督（他是万有的主）传和平的福音，将这道赐给以色列人。He has sent this message to the people of Israel, proclaiming the gospel of peace through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all.

³⁷这话在约翰宣传洗礼以后，从加利利起，传遍了犹太。You yourselves know what has happened throughout Judea, beginning in Galilee with the baptism that John proclaimed:

³⁸神怎样以圣灵和能力膏拿撒勒人耶稣，这都是你们知道的。他周流四方，行善事，医好凡被魔鬼压制的人，因为　神与他同在。how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how Jesus went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, because God was with Him.

我们为这些事作见证

³⁹他在犹太人之地，并耶路撒冷所行的一切事，有我们作见证。他们竟把他挂在木头上杀了。We are witnesses of all that He did, both in the land of the Jews and in Jerusalem. And although they put Him to death by hanging Him on a tree,

⁴⁰第三日，　神叫他复活，显现出来；God raised Him up on the third day and caused Him to be seen—

⁴¹不是显现给众人看，乃是显现给　神预先所拣选为他作见证的人看，就是我们这些在他从死里复活以后和他同吃同喝的人。not by all the people, but by the witnesses God had chosen beforehand, by us who ate and drank with Him after He rose from the dead.

⁴²他吩咐我们传道给众人，证明他是　神所立定的，要作审判活人、死人的主。And He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that He is the One appointed by God to judge the living and the dead.

⁴³众先知也为他作见证说：‘凡信他的人必因他的名得蒙赦罪。’”All the prophets testify about Him that everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins through His name.”

圣灵降在外邦人身上

⁴⁴彼得还说这话的时候，圣灵降在一切听道的人身上。While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all who heard his message.

⁴⁵那些奉割礼、和彼得同来的信徒，见圣灵的恩赐也浇在外邦人身上，就都希奇；All the circumcised believers who had accompanied Peter were astounded that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out even on the Gentiles.

⁴⁶因听见他们说方言，称赞　神为大。For they heard them speaking in tongues and exalting God. Then Peter said,

⁴⁷于是彼得说：“这些人既受了圣灵，与我们一样，谁能禁止用水给他们施洗呢？”“Can anyone withhold the water to baptize these people? They have received the Holy Spirit just as we have!”

⁴⁸就吩咐奉耶稣基督的名给他们施洗。他们又请彼得住了几天。So he ordered that they be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked him to stay for a few days.
