亚她利雅剿灭王室

¹亚哈谢的母亲亚她利雅见她儿子死了，就起来剿灭王室。When Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she proceeded to annihilate all the royal heirs.

²但约兰王的女儿，亚哈谢的妹子约示巴，将亚哈谢的儿子约阿施从那被杀的王子中偷出来，把他和他的乳母都藏在卧房里，躲避亚她利雅，免得被杀。But Jehosheba daughter of King Joram, the sister of Ahaziah, took Joash son of Ahaziah and stole him away from among the sons of the king who were being murdered. She put him and his nurse in a bedroom to hide him from Athaliah, and he was not killed.

³约阿施和他的乳母藏在耶和华的殿里六年；亚她利雅篡了国位。And Joash remained hidden with his nurse in the house of the LORD for six years while Athaliah ruled the land.

耶何耶大安排护卫

⁴第七年，耶何耶大打发人叫迦利人（或译：亲兵）和护卫兵的众百夫长来，领他们进了耶和华的殿，与他们立约，使他们在耶和华殿里起誓，又将王的儿子指给他们看，Then in the seventh year, Jehoiada sent for the commanders of hundreds, the Carites, and the guards, and had them brought into the house of the LORD. There he made a covenant with them and put them under oath. He showed them the king’s son

⁵吩咐他们说：“你们当这样行：凡安息日进班的三分之一要看守王宫，and commanded them, “This is what you are to do: A third of you who come on duty on the Sabbath shall guard the royal palace,

⁶三分之一要在苏珥门，三分之一要在护卫兵院的后门。这样把守王宫，拦阻闲人。a third shall be at the gate of Sur, and a third at the gate behind the guards. You are to take turns guarding the temple—

⁷你们安息日所有出班的三分之二要在耶和华的殿里护卫王；the two divisions that would go off duty on the Sabbath are to guard the house of the LORD for the king.

⁸各人手拿兵器，四围护卫王。凡擅入你们班次的必当治死，王出入的时候，你们当跟随他。”You must surround the king with weapons in hand, and anyone who approaches the ranks must be put to death. You must stay close to the king wherever he goes.”

⁹众百夫长就照着祭司耶何耶大一切所吩咐的去行，各带所管安息日进班出班的人来见祭司耶何耶大。So the commanders of hundreds did everything that Jehoiada the priest had ordered. Each of them took his men—those coming on duty on the Sabbath and those going off duty—and came to Jehoiada the priest.

¹⁰祭司便将耶和华殿里所藏大卫王的枪和盾牌交给百夫长。Then the priest gave to the commanders of hundreds the spears and shields of King David from the house of the LORD.

¹¹护卫兵手中各拿兵器，在坛和殿那里，从殿右直到殿左，站在王子的四围。And the guards stood with weapons in hand surrounding the king by the altar and the temple, from the south side to the north side of the temple.

约阿施被立为王

¹²祭司领王子出来，给他戴上冠冕，将律法书交给他，膏他作王；众人就拍掌说：“愿王万岁！”Then Jehoiada brought out the king’s son, put the crown on him, presented him with the Testimony, and proclaimed him king. They anointed him, and the people clapped their hands and declared, “Long live the king!”

亚她利雅被杀

¹³亚她利雅听见护卫兵和民的声音，就到民那里，进耶和华的殿，When Athaliah heard the noise from the guards and the people, she went out to the people in the house of the LORD.

¹⁴看见王照例站在柱旁，百夫长和吹号的人侍立在王左右，国中的众民欢乐吹号；亚她利雅就撕裂衣服，喊叫说：“反了！反了！”And she looked out and saw the king standing by the pillar, according to the custom. The officers and trumpeters were beside the king, and all the people of the land were rejoicing and blowing trumpets. Then Athaliah tore her clothes and screamed, “Treason! Treason!”

¹⁵祭司耶何耶大吩咐管辖军兵的百夫长说：“将她赶出班外，凡跟随她的必用刀杀死！”因为祭司说“不可在耶和华殿里杀她”，And Jehoiada the priest ordered the commanders of hundreds in charge of the army, “Bring her out between the ranks, and put to the sword anyone who follows her.” For the priest had said, “She must not be put to death in the house of the LORD.”

¹⁶众兵就闪开让她去；她从马路上王宫去，便在那里被杀。So they seized Athaliah as she reached the horses’ entrance to the palace grounds, and there she was put to death.

与耶和华立约、拆毁巴力庙

¹⁷耶何耶大使王和民与耶和华立约，作耶和华的民；又使王与民立约。Then Jehoiada made a covenant between the LORD and the king and the people that they would be the LORD’s people. He also made a covenant between the king and the people.

¹⁸于是国民都到巴力庙，拆毁了庙，打碎坛和像，又在坛前将巴力的祭司玛坦杀了。祭司耶何耶大派官看守耶和华的殿，So all the people of the land went to the temple of Baal and tore it down. They smashed the altars and idols to pieces, and they killed Mattan the priest of Baal in front of the altars. And Jehoiada the priest posted guards for the house of the LORD.

¹⁹又率领百夫长和迦利人（或译：亲兵）与护卫兵，以及国中的众民，请王从耶和华殿下来，由护卫兵的门进入王宫，他就坐了王位。He took with him the commanders of hundreds, the Carites, the guards, and all the people of the land, and they brought the king down from the house of the LORD and entered the royal palace by way of the Gate of the Guards. Then Joash took his seat on the royal throne,

²⁰国民都欢乐，合城都安静。众人已将亚她利雅在王宫那里用刀杀了。and all the people of the land rejoiced. And the city was quiet, because Athaliah had been put to the sword at the royal palace.

七岁登基

²¹约阿施登基的时候年方七岁。Joash was seven years old when he became king.

约阿施行正的事

¹耶户第七年，约阿施登基，在耶路撒冷作王四十年。他母亲名叫西比亚，是别是巴人。In the seventh year of Jehu, Joash became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem forty years. His mother’s name was Zibiah; she was from Beersheba.

²约阿施在祭司耶何耶大教训他的时候，就行耶和华眼中看为正的事；And Joash did what was right in the eyes of the LORD all the days he was instructed by Jehoiada the priest.

³只是邱坛还没有废去，百姓仍在那里献祭烧香。Nevertheless, the high places were not removed; the people continued sacrificing and burning incense there.

收银子修理圣殿

⁴约阿施对众祭司说：“凡奉到耶和华殿分别为圣之物所值通用的银子，或各人当纳的身价，或乐意奉到耶和华殿的银子，Then Joash said to the priests, “Collect all the money brought as sacred gifts into the house of the LORD—the census money, the money from vows, and the money brought voluntarily into the house of the LORD.

⁵你们当从所认识的人收了来，修理殿的一切破坏之处。”Let every priest receive it from his constituency, and let it be used to repair any damage found in the temple.”

⁶无奈到了约阿施王二十三年，祭司仍未修理殿的破坏之处。By the twenty-third year of the reign of Joash, however, the priests had not yet repaired the damage to the temple.

⁷所以约阿施王召了大祭司耶何耶大和众祭司来，对他们说：“你们怎么不修理殿的破坏之处呢？从今以后，你们不要从所认识的人再收银子，要将所收的交出来，修理殿的破坏之处。”So King Joash called Jehoiada and the other priests and said, “Why have you not repaired the damage to the temple? Now, therefore, take no more money from your constituency, but hand it over for the repair of the temple.”

⁸众祭司答应不再收百姓的银子，也不修理殿的破坏之处。So the priests agreed that they would not receive money from the people and that they would not repair the temple themselves.

钻孔的奉献柜

⁹祭司耶何耶大取了一个柜子，在柜盖上钻了一个窟窿，放于坛旁，在进耶和华殿的右边；守门的祭司将奉到耶和华殿的一切银子投在柜里。Then Jehoiada the priest took a chest, bored a hole in its lid, and set it beside the altar on the right side as one enters the house of the LORD. There the priests who guarded the threshold put all the money brought into the house of the LORD.

¹⁰他们见柜里的银子多了，便叫王的书记和大祭司上来，将耶和华殿里的银子数算包起来。Whenever they saw that there was a large amount of money in the chest, the royal scribe and the high priest would go up, count the money brought into the house of the LORD, and tie it up in bags.

¹¹把所平的银子交给督工的，就是耶和华殿里办事的人；他们把银子转交修理耶和华殿的木匠和工人，Then they would put the counted money into the hands of those who supervised the work on the house of the LORD, who in turn would pay those doing the work—the carpenters, builders,

¹²并瓦匠、石匠，又买木料和凿成的石头，修理耶和华殿的破坏之处，以及修理殿的各样使用。masons, and stonecutters. They also purchased timber and dressed stone to repair the damage to the house of the LORD, and they paid the other expenses of the temple repairs.

¹³但那奉到耶和华殿的银子，没有用以做耶和华殿里的银杯、蜡剪、碗、号，和别样的金银器皿，However, the money brought into the house of the LORD was not used for making silver basins, wick trimmers, sprinkling bowls, trumpets, or any articles of gold or silver for the house of the LORD.

¹⁴乃将那银子交给督工的人修理耶和华的殿；Instead, it was paid to those doing the work, and with it they repaired the house of the LORD.

¹⁵且将银子交给办事的人转交做工的人，不与他们算账，因为他们办事诚实。No accounting was required from the men who received the money to pay the workmen, because they acted with integrity.

¹⁶惟有赎愆祭、赎罪祭的银子没有奉到耶和华的殿，都归祭司。The money from the guilt offerings and sin offerings was not brought into the house of the LORD; it belonged to the priests.

用圣物向哈薛求和

¹⁷那时，亚兰王哈薛上来攻打迦特，攻取了，就定意上来攻打耶路撒冷。At that time Hazael king of Aram marched up and fought against Gath and captured it. Then he decided to attack Jerusalem.

¹⁸犹大王约阿施将他列祖犹大王约沙法、约兰、亚哈谢所分别为圣的物和自己所分别为圣的物，并耶和华殿与王宫府库里所有的金子都送给亚兰王哈薛；哈薛就不上耶路撒冷来了。So King Joash of Judah took all the sacred objects dedicated by his fathers—Jehoshaphat, Jehoram, and Ahaziah, the kings of Judah—along with his own consecrated items and all the gold found in the treasuries of the house of the LORD and the royal palace, and he sent them to Hazael king of Aram. So Hazael withdrew from Jerusalem.

约阿施被臣仆所杀

¹⁹约阿施其余的事，凡他所行的都写在犹大列王记上。As for the rest of the acts of Joash, along with all his accomplishments, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?

²⁰约阿施的臣仆起来背叛，在下悉拉的米罗宫那里将他杀了。And the servants of Joash rose up and formed a conspiracy and killed him at Beth-millo, on the road down to Silla.

²¹杀他的那臣仆就是示米押的儿子约撒甲和朔默的儿子约萨拔。众人将他葬在大卫城他列祖的坟地里。他儿子亚玛谢接续他作王。His servants Jozabad son of Shimeath and Jehozabad son of Shomer struck him down, and he died. And they buried him with his fathers in the City of David, and his son Amaziah reigned in his place.

耶稣隐藏了

³⁶你们应当趁着有光，信从这光，使你们成为光明之子。”耶稣说了这话，就离开他们隐藏了。While you have the Light, believe in the Light, so that you may become sons of light.” After Jesus had spoken these things, He went away and was hidden from them.

众人还是不信

³⁷他虽然在他们面前行了许多神迹，他们还是不信他。Although Jesus had performed so many signs in their presence, they still did not believe in Him.

³⁸这是要应验先知以赛亚的话，说：主啊，我们所传的有谁信呢？主的膀臂向谁显露呢？This was to fulfill the word of Isaiah the prophet: “Lord, who has believed our message? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?”

³⁹他们所以不能信，因为以赛亚又说：For this reason they were unable to believe. For again, Isaiah says:

⁴⁰主叫他们瞎了眼，硬了心，免得他们眼睛看见，心里明白，回转过来，我就医治他们。“He has blinded their eyes and hardened their hearts, so that they cannot see with their eyes, and understand with their hearts, and turn, and I would heal them.”

⁴¹以赛亚因为看见他的荣耀，就指着他说这话。Isaiah said these things because he saw Jesus’ glory and spoke about Him.

官长怕被赶出会堂

⁴²虽然如此，官长中却有好些信他的，只因法利赛人的缘故，就不承认，恐怕被赶出会堂。Nevertheless, many of the leaders believed in Him. But because of the Pharisees they did not confess Him, for fear that they would be put out of the synagogue.

⁴³这是因他们爱人的荣耀过于爱　神的荣耀。For they loved praise from men more than praise from God.

耶稣最后的公开呼吁

⁴⁴耶稣大声说：“信我的，不是信我，乃是信那差我来的。Then Jesus cried out, “Whoever believes in Me does not believe in Me alone, but in the One who sent Me.

⁴⁵人看见我，就是看见那差我来的。And whoever sees Me sees the One who sent Me.

⁴⁶我到世上来，乃是光，叫凡信我的，不住在黑暗里。I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in Me should remain in darkness.

⁴⁷若有人听见我的话不遵守，我不审判他。我来本不是要审判世界，乃是要拯救世界。As for anyone who hears My words and does not keep them, I do not judge him. For I have not come to judge the world, but to save the world.

⁴⁸弃绝我、不领受我话的人，有审判他的—就是我所讲的道在末日要审判他。There is a judge for the one who rejects Me and does not receive My words: The word that I have spoken will judge him on the last day.

⁴⁹因为我没有凭着自己讲，惟有差我来的父已经给我命令，叫我说什么，讲什么。I have not spoken on My own, but the Father who sent Me has commanded Me what to say and how to say it.

⁵⁰我也知道他的命令就是永生。故此，我所讲的话正是照着父对我所说的。”And I know that His command leads to eternal life. So I speak exactly what the Father has told Me to say.”
